I got super lucky. This cute button b.uck was hit by a car right outside the entrance to my neighborhood, and the vultures made quick work of him!

This is him without any scraping or messing around from me. I got his lower jaw and two scapula, I might go back for some vertebrae later. This is the largest skull I have, and my only d.eer. Plus, everything’s intact!

Young (about 4 years old) R.oe b.uck skull with lower jaws. Misses its nasal turbinates and the back of the cranium has been cut off for some reason. Has all teeth though.

Named them snow after the crazy snowstorm we are having today!

Today's project! I made a hole in the skull cavity of this m.ule d.eer b.uck skull (his antlers were sawed off before we found him) and planted some succulents in it! I believe they are hens and chicks? It turned out amazing!

So it looks like it wasn't a button b.uck after all. I'm not sure what the skull looks like when the. Antlers are she'd, so I'm not sure if this one just had it's antlers shed or if they got cut off 😓. I also took some other bones, and I'm hoping I can make some jewelry or some art peices with them! I also found a dead S.kunk! Today I'm going to go back there and take a better look at it.
