Just a little thing today! I spent *waaaay* too long yesterday making a template for the album PCs for Christmas With You. It's only the second time I've ever made a template for an album (I did member ones for the POBs for ATEEZ's Beyond Zero), and it took me so many hours to cut out all the images from the dozen or so images I used to put it together, but I'm really pleased. It's garish and bright and cute, which is Matoki all over! 🥰

I'll try to do one for the POBs before the album comes out as well, but I am gonna take today off!

2024 was a tumultuous year too lol. But here we go anyway.

OK that's 16 tracks not 15, but what can you do.

The big story here is that obviously I got back into K-Pop in a big way this year. And specifically, it's because of the return of B.A.P as BJYM and then me falling for Han in Stray Kids. But also, went to the ATEEZ concert and saw NCT 127 at (my first) KCON, so that led to their placements on this list. I also saw NCT Dream in concert, but I didn't have necessarily a song that I really latched onto. I also got very into Day6 (through Stray Kids, really - I watched the thing with Bang Chan and Young K and I gave Day6 a listen, and their music is very much my taste. Also got a bit into P1Harmony and Seventeen, but to a lesser extent.

Stray Kids leads by a LOT. 542 scrobbles and ATEEZ in second place with 340. With that said, I am actually more of a Hanpop aficionado than a Stray Kids discography listener, but in Deezer, some of the Hanpop songs are labeled with Stray Kids as the artist and not just Han. 75 of those scrobbles are just Han - still keeps SKZ at the top, but if you add to the 44 of the scrobbles scrobbled under Han, that would actually put just him at #4. This is not including unit songs. This is also not including all of the times I may have watched the Hold My Hand music video..........

The Beatles are up there because I went to England this year, and my friend made me a playlist which included many a Beatles song. Nickelback is up there because I went to see the Nickelback documentary with friends haha. And Younha is up there, because she's always up there, but I belatedly realized she had a new album out.

ATE was my first Stray Kids comeback as a Stay, so no wonder it's up on top. Chk Chk Boom is a really fun title track. Hop literally just came out, but it's buoyed up by some fantastic solo tracks (My Top 3 are Hold My Hand (obvi), Youth, and Ultra - with As You Are coming pretty close).

I saw Operation Mincemeat whilst in London, and I have been singing its praises to anyone who will listen! It's SO GOOD. Speaking of my UK trip, King Crimson and Small Faces are on there because they were on the list of albums my friend gave me and they are really long albums lol.

Surprise with Greg Raposo! He was not my Dream Street bias (I have been in love with JMac since I was 11) but I've always appreciated Greg's talent. He also at one point followed me on Twitter, which was very exciting to me haha.

day 14: first kiss

After reading Daehyun's last message, Junhong left his place and began to jog towards the practice room, where the other man would be waiting for him. It took him less time than he expected to reach it, gladly. A force had pushed him to hurry and find him. He knew what it was, he didn't like being away from the other. There's something I need to show you. Climbing up the stairs with the same speed, he opened the door to the practice room, his eyes instantly scanning it to find Daehyun, who was nowhere to be seen. Hurry, please. Something tugged lightly at his heart at the thought that something could have had happened to the shorter man before he arrived. His breath was suddenly stuck. Panic. He took a few steps forward and his head moved from side to side, looking for the shorter man, fear growing at an abnormal speed inside of him until he felt a pair of hands press on his shoulders and heard a loud, high-pitched scream close to his ear. His own voice echoed as well, a bit louder than the other one due to his surprise. But somehow, he was relieved. This voice, the one that had just surprised him was just way too familiar to him. So he moved, turning to face the person behind him. Daehyun. There he was. A wide, bright smile that made his brown eyes almost disappear was displaying on his face. Automatically, Junhong smiled back at him. "Hyung, you surprised me!" He whined. "Yeah, I saw that. I actually didn't expect it to work so well." "Meanie..." Junhong muttered, covering the fact that he was feeling blissful just from seeing Daehyun who looked back at him with a proud smirk. After a short instant, Junhong noticed the Santa hat that Daehyun was wearing. It looked too large on his head and the sight made the taller man smile in amusement. "Isn't it a bit too soon for Christmas?" Daehyun shrugged. "Maybe, but it's never too soon for gifts." Junhong raised a brow while watching the other man who had suddenly started fidgeting on his spot. Daehyun had never been good at hiding his nervousness but... What was there to be nervous about? "So... You made me come here at this hour for a gift? Sweet," he teased, making Daehyun stick his tongue out at him. "I was waiting for the right moment. When it would be just the two of us." That sentence made Junhong blink in confusion but, just as he opened his mouth to question him, Daehyun took a step closer, his toothy smile still visible. "Close your eyes." Junhong's eyebrows furrowed as he began to think about Daehyun's intentions but he listened to him and closed his eyes. Then, all he heard was silence. He could still feel Daehyun standing in front of him and he wondered why he hadn't moved to get his present, if that was really what he was up to. The urge to open his eyes was strong, yet he kept them shut. After a couple of seconds that felt like an eternity, Daehyun scooted even closer and cupped Junhong's cheeks. Then, it happened. He realized that he was being kissed. It was soft, shy and awkward, and it emptied his mind completely, leaving it blank. Daehyun pulled away before he could start to enjoy it and actually return it. Instead, they found themselves staring at each other, remaining silent. "Uh... Merry early Christmas..." Daehyun murmured after clearing his throat, scratching his cheek nervously and avoiding Junhong's gaze. He saw how uncertain he was, so he realized that he should reassure him, that he didn’t do anything wrong at all. "That's... That's, like, one of the best gifts I've ever received." Daehyun blinked. "Really? You mean it?" "Yeah... I mean, that makes up for making me run in the cold so late," he joked. They both laughed. Afterwards, Junhong was the one to move closer to the other man, putting his hands on his shoulders as gently as he could. "Well... I guess it's my turn to give you a present, now."
