Funeral - Gospel of Bones
Funeral Doom Metal from Drammen, Norway
FUNERAL, hailing from the icy landscapes of Norway, stands solemn as stalwart guardians of the funeral doom metal genre. With roots intertwining the sorrow of a wake and the heaviness of bowed boughs bearing winter's weight, their music is a vessel of mourning and memory. In the heartrending depths of Gospel of Bones, we bear witness to a journey of grief, a map drawn in melancholic melodies and the relentless dirge of funeral drums. Each song is a requiem, a story etched into the annals of the night, with Anders Eek’s dismal symphonies leading the procession through tracks like the desolate beauty My Own Grave and the harrowing Procession of Misery. From the cold, lingering notes of Too Young to Die, to the sorrowful elegy Yestertear, this album is FUNERAL's sovereign claim to the throne of despair. Produced by the venerable hands of Børge Finstad and enriched by the ethereal harmonies of Ingvild "Sareeta" Johannesen, Gospel of Bones is a cathartic journey to be felt, a path through the shadows.
1. Too Young to Die 08:39 2. Yestertear 05:57 3. Procession of Misery 09:51 4. These Rusty Nails 07:28 5. Ailo's Lullaby 02:18 6. My Own Grave 07:17 7. To Break All Hearts of Men 09:05 8. Når kisten senkes 08:02 9. Three Dead Men 07:49

VEIL OF SECRETS “DEAD POETRY” RELEASE NOVEMBER 30TH
VEIL OF SECRETS’ “DEAD POETRY” is set to be released through CRIME RECORDS on November 30th, 2020.
The CD will come as an 8-panel digipak. The first print of the LP will be gatefold, colored “galaxy effect” vinyl, exclusive signed photo, large poster, and strictly limited to only 300 copies. In addition, a digital download is included if the LP is bought at the Crime Records webshop. When this limited print is sold out, the LP will be available as a standard gatefold with black vinyl. “DEAD POETRY” is available on all major streaming services on the release date.
Members of the VoS newsletter are getting an early link and password to order the album on November 1st at 18:00 CET. Join the newsletter at www.veilofsecrets.com to get the early purchase info (if you don’t receive the confirmation mail, look in your spam folder).
The album is publicly available for pre-order at www.crimerecords.no November 2nd at 18:00 CET.
Crime Records: – While the CD is ready to be shipped on the release date, we will have to wait about a month for the LP due to extended delivery times at the pressing plant. We understand this is unfortunate for those who want to buy both CD and LP at the same time. Still, since the only option to sync these releases was to delay until next year (only big artists release albums in December!), we decided to go on with the original release date and add the signed photo and poster as a bonus. If you buy the CD/LP bundle, you have the options to get the CD shipped first and LP later, or wait and get the whole order shipped as one to save the extra postage cost. You will get the digital release on November 30th.
“DEAD POETRY” contains 8 songs, 48 minutes. 1. “The Last Attempt” 5.24 2. “Sear The Fallen” 6.50 3. “Remorseful Heart” 5.27 4. “The Lie Of Her Prosperity” 6.19 5. “Fey” 6.32 6. “Bryd” 4.27 7. “Meson” 7.02 8. “Entirety” 6.21

Vibeke Stene announces her return to the music scene with a new doom metal band “Veil of Secrets”
VIBEKE STENE and ASGEIR MICKELSON announce a new doom metal band, VEIL OF SECRETS
VEIL OF SECRETS’ debut album “Dead Poetry” is set to be released on CD and vinyl through CRIME RECORDS this coming fall.
“Dead Poetry” was recorded by MICKELSON and mixed by BØRGE FINSTAD at TOPROOM STUDIO. On the album, MICKELSON handled guitars, drums, and bass, SAREETA (Ram-Zet, ex-Ásmegin) played violins, and ERLING MALM (Articulus, Endolith) handled grim vocals. The cover illustrations were painted by KJELL ÅGE MOLAND. The album is currently being mastered at DUB STUDIO by ENDRE KIRKESOLA.
VIBEKE STENE (ex-Tristania):
“After some years with no music production or dissemination, I strongly felt an inner longing to create and feel alive through music. So I started to seek a resolution. When Asgeir contacted me for the project God of Atheists, we started to share music and ideas, which lead to a satisfying process of expressions.I’ve taken the chance to believe that my words, my thoughts, and dreams, could have any value combined with my inner tones. The composing process of "Dead Poetry", was deeply founded on honesty and trust, and therefore I’m very proud to finally share Veil of Secrets."
ASGEIR MICKELSON (ex-Borknagar, Sarke, Ihsahn, Testament):
“Most people know me as a drummer, but I started originally out as a guitarist. After I switched to drums, I didn’t play guitar for years, so when I picked up again in 2002, I quickly started writing doom metal riffs. To me, there are only two real doom metal albums, which are the Candlemass classics “Epicus Doomicus Metallicus” and “Nightfall”, so that style is my starting point when it comes to writing slow-paced metal – meaning guitar-driven songs with melancholic and somber melodies. For years I wrote riffs on and (a lot more) off without a real plan, so when Vibeke expressed interest in the songs, it made sense to use them as the basis for a new band. We then went through the material, decided on the initial eight songs, and made some final adjustments before Vibeke breathed new life into them. Then Sareeta lifted the songs even further with her violin melodies. It’s not become symphonic – it’s still pure doom metal, and I cannot wait to let you finally hear it!”
