*SPOILERS AHEAD*
So I’ve been seeing a lot of people talk about how big of a mistake Aziraphale made in the finale and how badly they feel for Crowley (instead of feeling bad for BOTH of them). And honestly? I don’t understand the perspective that Crowley getting his heart broken in episode 6 has to mean that Aziraphale was totally naive and wrong and that it’ll take Crowley a lot of time to forgive him, or that Aziraphale’s ending in season 2 wasn’t just as heartbreaking as Crowley’s.
Think about everything we know about Aziraphale, who has never once been power-hungry and— following season 1— no longer cares what Heaven thinks (he even told the Metratron that he didn’t want to go back to Heaven when first approached). Aziraphale only left because he sees angels like Muriel, who definitively have good in them despite everything, or even Gabriel who somehow figured out how to fall in love and find something that mattered more to him than the supposed ‘morality’ of Heaven. Aziraphale sees that spark, that potential of Heaven to be turned into what it should have always been, and he thinks that he can do it because he’s seen proof of angels who can get away from Heaven’s influence, a list that includes himself.
Not to mention THAT look he gave Metatron after he brought up the Second Coming, a look that (at least from where I’m sitting) was a definite steeling of nerves and his own way of saying “Okay, time to take this thing down from the inside”. He was NOT saying that Crowley should reform himself for Heaven, or even that they should go back because he missed Heaven. He was asking Crowley to go with him because he loves him and wants him by his side— and because he knows that Crowley has experience in being there for angels who slowly deviate from Heaven.
Aziraphale wants what he’s always wanted— to keep helping everyone he possibly can, without stopping to do what he really wants and just stay in his beloved bookshop with the love of his life. Because he never prioritizes what it is he wants when he could be helping others instead. That’s just who he is, which is what makes him so selfless and wonderful but also so sad in that he never just…lets himself be happy. And the Crowley that we all know would never hate or have lingering fury toward him for that. What Aziraphale is doing, although heartbreaking to people like me who just want the Husbands to have their little cottage in the South Downs, is actually really brave, AND just as worthy of the sympathy and heartbreak that many fans are feeling for Crowley.
EDIT: Also, as sad/problematic it may be to abandon your life and partner, it’s just as problematic to turn a blind eye to the oppression and injustice of Heaven that, by all means, you have the ability and voice to try to do something about in pursuit of prioritizing what you want. So if we’re going to be mad at Aziraphale, we have to be mad at Crowley, too (and I’ll be disappointed if hypothetical-season-3 paints the narrative that Aziraphale is the only one in the wrong here). Personally, I’m all for not being mad at anybody. I completely understand both of their choices, and I just want them to reconcile and be compassionate to what the other is going through.

In the last poster the Bentley's bumper first looked like a it had a bent but is actually a reflection
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After stretching it, it looks like there is a body of water (a lake or maybe the ocean), with cliffs on the right and faraway mountains on the left. Where were they?
Tumblr media
Then we have the sequence from the trailer where they are driving away, with tartan mountains on the right. Maybe they are on their way to said body of water? (what if this is the last shot of the season, just like the Ritz toast was shown in the trailer for S1?)
Tumblr media
Those tartan mountains were also teased on the opening titles. Maybe they are on their way to to have their picnic!
Tumblr media
And the tartan pattern of the mountains is the pattern in Gabriel's toga blanket, which also happens to match Aziraphale's 1820's color scheme!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What does it mean!? Did Aziraphale used those colors before and switch to the pattern we saw in S1 later? Is it just a running gag? What is it! I know we'll find out soon enough, but it is fun to speculate

Imagine Aziraphale asked Crowley what it felt like to fall, and when Crowley answers in all honesty but staying nonchalant, the angel's heart breaks, hating to think about Crowley being lost and suffering so much...
So one day, he sits on the couch, smiling gently at his lover and he pats the cushions, asking silently for the demon to join him. Crowley does, a bit puzzled though. But when he does, Aziraphale sits away from him at one proximity of the couch, turning to him as one thigh and knee rest on the seat.
"Lie down ?" He asks softly.
Wearing a wtf expression, Crowley tentatively lies down on the couch and is a bit surprised by Aziraphale's hands cupping his face to gently guide his head to rest against the angel's thigh. With big eyes, Crowley waits, not sure what to expect.
Then, Aziraphale delicately puts his hands flat on Crowley's chest, close to his heart, while he closes his eyes. After a few seconds, Crowley sees the angel's hands starting glow.
"Wow, wait—"
"Shh." Aziraphale hush gently, wearing a calm expression.
And, while he's a bit anxious, Crowley waits, gulping a bit. When he's feeling a sensation of peacefulness invade him, his heart is slowly warming oddly pleasantly, and it's like all the tension, the fear, the anxiety and the anger left his body. He sighs deeply, feeling empty but in the best way possible. Even bad memories became insignificant, as if far away and unreachable, unable to hurt him anymore. Crowley never felt so relaxed since... Well, he never felt so relaxed.
After what seems to be an eternity, the glow of Aziraphale's hands is fading. Very gently, the angel slides his hands away from Crowley's chest. And yet, the demon could still feel the power lingering in his heart, the peacefulness never leaving him.
Eventually, almost sleepy, Crowley opens his eyes to look up at Aziraphale.
"...What did you do ?" He asks in a whisper.
"I tried to heal your heart." Aziraphale replies softly with the most loving gaze.

Questioning the Questioner
Blocking in Scenes in S2: No. 1
Since I'm procrastinating a bit on the meta writing for various reasons (its happening, but slowly,) why don't I throw some short pieces on S2 blocking at you. Here's a related parallel pair.
As always, we need to remember that the screen right is the morally right angelic side, and the screen left is the shady demonic side.
Tumblr media
Here we have Aziraphale's initial questioning of Gabriel upon his arrival in the bookshop. Gabriel is on the screen right of Aziraphale, so takes the moral angel side, while Aziraphale sits on the demonic left side of the screen. Aziraphale is asking most of the questions in this scene, so it seems the right place to be. Both of them are in the light, though, there are no shadows here for these two angels.
But notice the balance of the setting - Gabriel is more towards the middle of the shot, and is placed over the centre of the rug. This turns out to be no accident, but a very particular placement.
You might be familiar with the portal under the oculus, which turns out to be part of a Solomon's Magic Circle. But there is a side part to this array, which is placed exactly where the office section of the bookshop is, which can be used to summon and control both angels and demons. It's a place where the truth is demanded. It's just a shame that Gabriel can't seem to remember the answers to the questions that need to be answered.
The second screenshot in this pair is part of the "cupperty" sequence.
Tumblr media
In comparison to the above screenshot, we have Muriel looking at her "cupperty" while conversing with a combined Aziraphale and Crowley team in S2E3. I did a more detailed meta around the tea here, but let us just address Crowley nearly sitting in Aziraphale's lap the dynamics of the moment.
Muriel, an angel, is sitting on the screen right. They are all in heavenly white, and there is even a beam of light focused on her cupperty. They have come to ask questions to verify the 25 lazurii miracle that was performed the other night.
On the other side, the screen left, we have Aziraphale and Crowley sitting together as one. As they sit in the shadows, they act as a team, Crowley asking questions to Muriel with a teasing kind of playfulness while Aziraphale tries to coach her on - both things Crowley the demon is known to do.
And how do we know this a significant shadow? The windows are on the east side of the shop, and its morning, just before Aziraphale heads off to Edinburgh. Also we have also just seen some of the side characters conversing in the coffee shop while ordering their morning coffee.
We have the same two chairs being used as well. Muriel sits on the ladder chair this time, while the more experienced angel/demon pair occupy the more comfortable lounge chair that is still positioned on the Magic Triangle.
We even have hot beverages in play. Gabriel's hot chocolate is more about comfort, while the cups of tea are about establishing a connection to Earth.
