Character introduction

Name: Kohaku Ember Dragneel

Age: 15-16 (depends on his verse)

Birthday: January 10th

Race: Human(formerly) kitsune

Hair color: White

Hair length: long (up to his waist)

Hairstyle: long braid

Skin color: pale white

Eyes: deep red

Personality: he’s short-fused, rude at times, tends to keep to himself. Those who often meet him for the first time often think he’s just a kid with a horrid attitude when really it’s more of an unconscious self-defense as he’s got his guard up most of the time. But to those who form a close bond or friendship find out surprisingly he’s just someone who’s never got to be a kid. He acts way older than he is, he tries to act mature as much as possible as he often hates being called a kid (tho some certain people do get away with it). If he’s ever relaxed around you? He can either be in a chaotic pranking mood or even just playful

Backstory: his origin story slightly depends on his verse. But the long gist of it was he grew up on an isolated island called Hoshi island, the old chief who ran a village on the island was given Kohaku to raise by a strange man…and the old man Szarlon Henzo became Kohaku’s Sensei..he taught Kohaku magic and martial arts, mainly ninjitsu style. He was trained in skills that most would question why would a parent ever teach a kid, like assassination, stealth, powerful magic, rituals..Hoshi island was cut off from the mainland by Ouroboros, the God of Rebirth and Cycles, keeper of the cosmic flames…the Flames of Of the Stars..Kohaku being raised by the Chief of the island was set to be the next leader of Hoshi island..one horrid day…the island was raided…destroyed, and devastated..he and his friends tried to escape, but after the sacrifice of their leader, Szarlon...they couldn’t do much to escape. After being captured he and other survivors were kept in slave camps for experimentation until 3 years later he led a revolt in an attempt to escape……while he was the only one who survived the attempt….his kin did not survive…he escaped the island and was lost at sea for a certain amount time…and nearly drowned at sea..thankfully he succeeded in reaching the mainland…only to remember..nothing from his past…only the magic he carried..

Magic: little is known about his magic as it came from many rituals for ouroboros. Some call it Azure Fire Magic…but it’s more than that…some say he’s tuned to the cosmos. His fire is supposed to be blue and bathed in some strange energy…however due to his age..it’s a bright hot pink, he has also this strange passive ability to change his color pallet. From white hair to black hair with a cherry blossom pink streak. And his skin gets more of a tanner tone. Aside from his magic from ouroboros, he has his kitsune magic: shapeshifting, fox fire, etc.

Animal companions: a Snake named Stardust. She is his magic bonded companion who tends to mother him.

Fairy Tail

Family: Natsu Dragneel (older brother) Zeref Dragneel (elder brother) @kurogane-redfox (Uncle Gaj…I fucking love these two..despite being uncle and nephew they have a father/son bond..) @draighaearn (Menace Uncle Gajeel..Do not leave these two unsupervised) @mirroredworlds (Natsu-they are wondering if they are even siblings lol.., Gajeel- Uncle that Ko loves to have Sake with) @ignis-venenatus (Natsu-brother that acts like a dad/ Erik-Good friend of Kohaku) @blacksteeldragon (Gajeel- Dad) YES THIS BOY WAS ADOPTED BY A FLIGHT OF DRAGONS 😂

Extra info: because he’s constantly surrounded by dragonslayers, Kohaku has adopted dragon like behaviors. Steaming, hoarding, breathing fire through his mouth!

After he washed up on the mainland he came across Zeref, who then brought him to achnologia, Kohaku was then sealed in Crystal in a state of sleep stasis for 400 years…only reawakening after the 7 year skip on tenrou. After that Kohaku set out, having no memory at all of his past? He eventually finds Natsu and fairy tail :D

How he became a kitsune, Kohaku will honestly keep that a secret, but Ouroboros prevented his death by turning him into a kitsune. He is not full grown, he was only granted 5 tails, one for each trauma he overcame

Genshin Verse

He turned into a kitsune after drowning at sea, ouroboros saved him from drowning this way. Kohaku then woke up in Liyue with no memory..and a pyro vision

Who is/are your comfort character(s)?

Eijirou Kirishima, for sure! It's funny, when I first started watching MHA, he didn't stand out to me. I was an instant Shinsou fan, an instant Hawks fan, an instant Amajiki fan, etc., but Kiri didn't really make that big of an impact on me, except to be like 'oh, he's the guy who's always tolerating Bakugou.'

My entire perspective shifted when I saw his backstory.

I dealt with similar feelings of anxiety and depression (I still do, kinda), and seeing how it still affected him even after his debut as Red Riot, showing off Unbreakable, getting complimented by his mentor, etc. was eye-opening to me. It was just so real.

Kiri is the kind of person I want to grow up to be, not only because he's super optimistic and energetic and friendly, but because he overcame a lot of shit mentally. He's such a big role model for me. I spliced some of his dialogue into a song that I always play when I'm feeling down.

Plus, he's literally my comfort character:

24. If we were together on a rooftop, what would we be doing?

Regardless, I think that we'd be sitting on a rooftop, ideally in comfy chairs, but I can deal with a picnic blanket if need be. We'd have some snacks, some southern sweet tea (I can't live without my southern sweet tea 😊), some nice music, and we'd watch the sunset.

34. Is there a song you know every word to by heart?

SO MANYYYYY. Music is my entire life (@persona4fantasy can verify). Like, do you want a list? Some of the ones off the top of my head (in no particular order):

Break My Body (This is that song I mentioned for number 1 where I spliced some of Kiri's dialogue in, just to make it even more personal)

House Of Cards (I just really like this song. It's super upbeat and I can't help but sing along)

Someone To Talk To (When I was feeling discriminated against by my roommates one year in college - spoiler alert, I was! - I would play this song, along with its companion piece, A Phone Call)

Ayzat / Naegissa (I spent a long time memorizing these songs because they're in a completely made-up language and I was dedicated to learning them)

Still Breathing (I don't listen to very many Green Day songs, but this one is one of my favorites. It's just so hopeful)

Burns To Embrace (This song has an amazing beat, but it has a somewhat depressing subtext, jsyk)

Renegades (This is one of my favorite songs because it's just so hopeful. It's about overcoming hardships with someone by your side)

Better (This is probably, simultaneously the most wholesome song and the saddest. It's basically a plead for life to get better)

Cosmic (This is my wallowing song, just be forewarned, lol)

43. What's your take on spicy foods?

I don't like melt-your-face-off, I-need-a-fire-extinguisher-for-my-face spicy foods. A low medium is just about my limit. I prefer mild, but if something's good, I'll deem it worthy to suffer for, lol. Funnily enough, I hate black pepper on anything, even if it's mild.

Mine is angsty as well. This is from the past arc of the Song of Wind. Ayzat (she/her) had to leave her partner Arban and her little son Roshan in order to protect them.

She looked like she came from the other-world - and maybe she really was. For Arban, she was a fleeting dream, the beginning of tragedy.

Matter (The Song of the Wind, Main Arc) 

The first thing Roshan saw at the central bazaar was Sommya. She stood like a giant in the middle of relentless screaming, cheering and whistling.’

That’s so Sommya…’

Roshan muttered to himself. He knew that Sommya had no hesitation to jump into a fist-fight. Sommya spitted out a curse at the thieves, miserably running away from the bazaar. Great applause followed as she triumphantly showed the money bag. Then her eyes met Roshan’s. A big bright smile spread across her face as she waved at him. 

‘It doesn’t matter’

Looking down at her own dusty, bloodstained dress, Sommya shrugged. 

‘You always answer even before I ask.’

Roshan grinned subtly at his childhood friend.

‘Shall I make tea for you, my lord?’

Nayan’s composed face didn’t give away their feelings despite their father’s sudden visit. Yet their voice had a sharp coldness of hidden blade. 

‘Yes, but no poison, please.’

Zeyyar’s sarcastic reply aroused dry, half-hearted laughter among his guards. 

People often said that there was nothing alike between Nayan, the Sage of Cypress, and their father Zeyyar, the king. Yet, there was actually one thing in common- a deadly cold look, which could paralyse people as if they were shot by a fatal arrow.

‘Oi! You gotta eat more!’ 

Roshan tiredly poked a bowl placed in front of Arta, still wrapped up in a shabby blanket. Arta never looked Roshan in the eye, saving the only time when they were asked their name by him. 

‘You are just afraid of seniors, aren’t you? If I die right here, you’ll be the one who is responsible. You deserve it, you coward!’ 

Even though Arta was growing weary, they still kept mocking Roshan.

Roshan sighed deeply. He could handle stubborn ponies well, but not this weird creature. 

Mist  (The Song of the Wind, Past Arc)

‘Ayzat…’

Arban wanted to call his beloved’s name at the top of his lungs one last time. 

But the only thing his trembling lips could manage was just a whisper, which melted into the dark, thick mist. Since that night, she disappeared forever, as if she had never existed. Roshan, their child, was the only proof of her existence.

‘Was it true that our first queen was poisoned so many times?’ 

Sommya asked her mother innocently. 

‘Yes, that’s true. But thanks to the grace of gods, she survived. Our great queen Svedra was the chosen one, the reincarnation of Rditia, the goddess.’ 

Sommya and her mother had had this conversation countless times, yet, Sommya never got bored. The story of queen Svedra was her favourite all the time.  As a child, Sommya looked up to Svedra from the bottom of her heart.

No Longer Canon Tag Game

Tagged by @stories-by-rie. Thank you for tagging me! This is an interesting game. It gave me an opportunity to reflect on my own writing. 

Before

Fayyar (the fourth ruler of the Iksan Dynasty) and his twin, Zeyyar (the fifth ruler) were Kayya (the third ruler)’s sons.

Now

Fayyar and Zeyyar are nephews of Kayya. Kayya is asexual and aromantic!

Before 

Roshan was an only child of Arban and Ayzat.

Now 

Actually Roshan has a younger sibling! But Roshan does not know about them/him. (and he will never know). This younger sibling of Roshan is transgender and they/he will have own story of self-discovery! I’m excited to write their/his journey. (another piled up wip.. I have too many ideas)They share a lot of facial features and even some habits although they have never met each other. However, their characters are very different. 

Before

The fate of Ayzat (Roshan’s mother) was left unknown.

Now

Ayzat managed to survive. But nobody - including Roshan and Arban - doesn’t know about it. 

Before

Sen(they/them) was a cunning character and tricked Arta and Roshan. Their behaviour had a huge impact on the fate of the troop.

Now

Sen still retains their trickster-like nature but is more compassionate. (That means I gotta reorganise the plot…but Sen is sweet so it is worth it.)

This is not canon-related, but I decided to make some character boards and  visuals. Drawing humans has always been challenging for me, but I guess I should try something new, too. If you know good resources, please let me know!
