"why do you talk about something awful so much" it has surprised me quite a bit as I've gotten older but the 2000s-2010s SA culture has only become more relevant to current events and media as time goes on, i assume from the natural watershed effects from people aging into their 30s and making media properties that go on to become incredibly influential. I was never a big poster there, I was a lurker 99% of the time and had zero influence on the site, so it's really not personal for me except for stuff like Dropsy, since I was there for the original thread. the SA millennials started popping up in noticeable ways as early as 30 Rock (recall the "lemon party" recurring joke for example) and as the younger members age into their prime output years we're just going to keep seeing more of it.

Bruce is well aware how boring galas and events can be for kids, so he always has a couple of babysitters at his events to take care of the kids in another room, with also a second room to nap in for the kids that get tired.

However, his own kids cannot stay with the other kids. It's not that he wants them to endure the event, it's that no babysitter want to deal with his kids after having deal with Dick Grayson. Like, imagine watching over at least ten kids, and there's one of them who always seems to end in the chandelier, jumping from furniture and trying to teach the other kids how to do it. Nope, never again, deal with him on your own, Mister Wayne. He's adorable, but he has way too much energy and refuses to stay on the ground. Even babysitters that never had to deal with Dick Grayson have heard of the horror stories, so they still refuse to look after the Wayne's kids.

Dick's siblings (Jason and Damian mostly) have him to blame for having to stay with the adults instead of reading or playing video games in another room.

so about arcane season 2—let me be clear: i don’t like the path caitlyn is going down BUT i think it makes sense for her. it’s very clear how she got here. just like every other character in this show, she’s a product of a system that she’s grown up in! she’s been raised as an aristocrat in a VERY classist society, of course the privilege and prejudice isn’t just going to go away. she’s been raised to trust the extremely corrupt institution of the police force without question and unfortunately despite being given reasons to question it, she’s sticking with it because it hasn’t hurt her yet (as far as she knows). and i think she can absolutely come back from this, it’s just going to take a lot of effort on her part (and perhaps getting rid of ambessa somehow). i’m obviously not gonna defend her actions but i still like her as a character and that’s okay!! it’s okay to like characters who do awful things!! also i don’t think she necessarily has evil intentions she just needs to take a step back and realize what she’s actually doing (which again will be very difficult). the thing is that characters in this show aren’t just bad for no reason and don’t just turn bad for no reason and honestly i feel like i’ve been seeing a lot of takes that just aren’t very nuanced

deviantart lost most of its appeal once it came out with that awful eclipse update but now it is just overrun with ai "art." all over the homepage, all in the recommended, literally everywhere. cant escape it. can barely even tell whats real art vs the fake shit anymore. depressing how a website that was originally made for artists, that used to be such a good place to share artwork back before the eclipse update, has literally just gone to absolute shit

u know wot im gonna talk about attack the block. its a movie made cause the director was fed up of seeing 'hoodie horror' and charecters like Moses[played by John Boyega in his first acting credit], black kids who got involved in bad stuff/expelled from school beeing shorthand for 'pure evil'

he went around interviewing kids to get the language right and meet people like moses. heres the full quote: "We did find some who were quite similar to Moses, who’d been excluded from school or got involved with bad stuff.
