Top Ten Books/Series I forgot existed
So this has been sitting in my drafts for like a month or two and I just got an ask that made me want to actually post it. I think I made this simply because I was bored, couldnât sleep, and enjoy making lists, so I decided to make a top ten list featuring books/series that I totally forgot about becauseâŚtheyâre just forgettable, no two ways about it. Because letâs be real here: there are great Choices books, there are terrible Choices books, and there are Choices books that are likeâŚheyâŚhiâŚIâm just kinda here.
10. Shipwrecked. PLEASE do not quote me on this, but I *think* it released sometime this past year. Honestly most of the reason this book suffered was due to the lack of interesting characters, or characters in general because off the top of my head all I can remember are the MC, the LI, Dr. Hale, and the LIâs old business partner but I canât even remember their name at this point. Hell, I canât even remember much of the plot, and even after playing a chapter I remember forgetting almost everything about it pretty much immediately.
9. Wishful Thinking. I actually quite liked this book. It was lighthearted and pretty fun during a time where we needed some lightheartedness to balance out the more intense/angsty book releases. But unfortunately, the plot itself was kinda meh, and since it was a standalone, there was no real reason to remember it. Even worse, this book began the unfortunate trend of reusing background characters as MCâs âclose friendsâ.
8. Foreign Affairs. Remember when FA was announced and, the dumbasses that we were, we were all convinced it would save the fandom from the book drought? YeahâŚit feels like such a distant memory now. The book seemed really, really promising. And it could have been. But holy hell, it was executed so poorly and the premise of the plot was so flimsy. What I once thought would be a great book is now one of the ones I just squint at when I remember it even exists.
7. A Very Scandalous Proposal. Iâve talked about this one a little bit before. The main appeal of AVSP was Simon/Ava. If you didnât like them? Tough shit, buddy. The main goal of the book was to uncover the secrets of the Montjoy family. Unfortunately, PB didnât give us a reason to care about or find interest in said Montjoy family, which is probably why the book faded from my memory so quick.
6. Passport to Romance. This is kind of a weird one for me. I forget it exists most of the time, but then when I do remember it, I remember how truly terrible it was, while most of the other books on this list arenât very fresh in my memory. It was so unimpressive, bland, and the characters were tolerable at best and obnoxious at worst (ELLIOT LANGDON).
5. Rising Tides. The book was okayâŚbut it pushed a generic âsave the earthâ message while forcing us to pay to clean the town. The MC was a sidekick in her own story which wouldâve been fine, but Charlie was such an annoying character that it wasnât even enjoyable. Also, the Big Bads conceded waaaaay too easily at the end. Iâm not even exaggerating when I say that I forgot about this book in less than a week after the final chapter aired.
4. Witness: A Bodyguard Romance. Believe it or not, despite how awful this book was, I forgot about it pretty quickly. It couldâve been a really cool story, but it focused too heavily on romance when the MC and Cassianâs lives were on the line quite literally at every second. Other than thatâŚI truthfully do not remember much about this book other than the Irish mob.
3. Ms. Match. This book was decent enough and it didnât stop releasing until that long ago. However, the plot was one of those âfight to reach the top and win the competitionâ plots which quite frankly have been overdone in Choices for a few years now. Not to mention, there werenât a lot of interesting characters except for Maggie and maaaaaybe the MCâs dad but thatâs pushing it a little. The reason itâs so high on this list is because it didnât end that long ago, yet I canât seem to remember a damn thing about the book, other than that I HATED the love interest.
2. Home for the Holidays. Many moons ago, this was considered one of the worst, if not, THE worst, book in Choices. And many moons ago, I agreed. But the horrific mediocrity of this holiday flurry of fuck was outshined by some truly awful stories and simply faded into obscurity.
1. Sunkissed. As I made this list, I scrolled through the series on the app, and while most books on this list elicited an âoh yeah, I kinda remember thisâ from me, when I saw this one, I was like âholy shit, I completely forgot this book was even a thingâ. While Home For the Holidays and Sunkissed are both sort of (for lack of a better word) Hallmark-y, Sunkissed was longer and, in my opinion, a little sloppier. The book just wasnât sure what it wanted to be. A lighthearted summer beach romance? A tale of a familyâs struggles with grief and interpersonal conflict in the wake of a father and husbandâs untimely death? Fuck it, weâll uncomfortably cram BOTH into the main plot, execution be damned!

I finally finished AVSP after 4 MONTHS. The whole part where MC tries to find out who sent that article was too obvious and stupid. That douche chef sprite was gonna be used as THAT GUY. Simon was just as boring and was not interesting. The only reason to marry him is his titles. DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON NIGEL. I could not stand his toffee ass the whole dayum time. Then the grandparents were rude since day 1. The book was so boring and dragged out I donât know how I did it but at least I got my diamonds for banging Gabe Ricci đ

Ah! I love this! And I love AVSP. Winnie is one of the few Choices pets that did not annoy me, and Nigel is one of the best BFFs ever. As to Simon... well.... đđđ
Thanks so much for participating, Kate!
Top 3 Thursday - Week 4
Welcome to Top Three Thursday! đ
FIRST, a few quick rules!
Please reblog your answer - don't create a new post. The point is to keep us all together in one place and to get to know each other.
You can answer any way you like - basic answer, headcanons, fics, moodboards, edits, artwork - be as creative (or not!) as you like.
Pixelberry Choices-related content only.
PLEASE BE KIND! People will have different options, thoughts, headcanons, and likes - and thatâs a good thing. Be respectful of one another.
For Week 4 - Alternating back to our MCs
WHO ARE YOUR MCs 3 BEST FRIENDS?
Are they canon characters or OCs you've created? Was this an easy question for your MC to answer - or did they struggle with it?
If youâd like to be added to the tag list, let me know, but anyone can participate! Tags below break. đđđ

were there any single LI Choices books that you felt were actually good? Like, well-written + the LI and the MC are actually likable with a well-developed relationship (even if you didn't necessarily think the book was perfect)
AVSP! AVSP! AVSP! That was the first one that came to my mind. I think it has been forgotten but also gotten a lot of criticism (some of it warranted, most of it not), and it makes me sad. Simon became my sole number one favorite LI because of that book. (Before it was a three-way tie between Liam, Damien, and Beckett, so you can see how hard it is for me to even pick favorites đ). But anyway, I enjoyed the book a lot. Of course it wasnât perfect, but I think it hit the major aspects well. MC was a go-getter and didnât play doormat to the LI or anyone else, which is a low bar but made her likable to me. Simon was nuanced, funny, charming, sweet, etc. And their relationship developed really well. It wasnât rushed despite the book being on kind of a quick timeline. It was more of a âwhen you know, you knowâ thing, and I actually really loved that.
Other than that, I also enjoyed Trystan and MCâs relationship in CoP. The mystery/story itself couldâve been better. CoP had more issues in that regard than AVSP imo. But again, I liked that Trystan and MCâs relationship wasnât rushed. And I like how they play off of each other. It was nice to watch them realize that they make a good team both in work and in a romantic relationship as well.
Iâm also going to hesitantly include TPS because even though there were two LIs, it was one for each MC. And I think the romance between the college MC and Clarke was written particularly well. So ignoring all of the annoying antics of the Princess MC/the sorority and the holes in the actual story, Clarke and Havyn (Iâm just gonna use my MCâs name now) were THE bright spot. I loved Clarke from the moment we were first introduced to him. And him and Havynâs dynamic was better than I couldâve asked for. I think I bought almost all of his diamond scenes. And I was glad to because they were 100% worth it. I think both he and Havyn had a lot of growth throughout the story, both as individuals and obviously as a couple lol
#choices#choices stories you play#playchoices#choices app#choices ask#thatâs why Clarke is in my top 3 LIs as well#I should replay all of these books to see if my official ranking has changed#but as of now weâre going to say heâs tied with Tatum in spot 3#Damien/Beckett/Liam are tied in spot 2

Physical Affection prompts 11, 13, and 16 for avsp?
thank you for the request, anon!
authorâs note: i havenât thought about these two in forever, and am glad the public release of AVSP is getting more fans since it is one of my favorite choices books. i hope you enjoy!
copyright: all characters owned by pixelberry studios. series/pairing: a very scandalous proposal â simon montjoy x mc (sophie macdonald) rating/warnings: 13+; none based on/prompt: physical affection prompts // 11. backhugs, 13. kissing someoneâs forehead, & 16. kissing someoneâs knuckles word count: ~620 summary: sophie and simon find a moment of respite and reminisce during their wedding.
solace
sophie stared out the window of the small â if you could consider anything in this giant castle of a home small â room she found herself in. fog had settled low on the grounds and she couldnât see much besides the grass and a few tree trunks. she wrapped her arms around herself â it wasnât cold per se â but the atmosphere outside reminded her of those early spring mornings.
âthere you are, darling,â simonâs warm voice seemed to shed light in the dark room. âwhat are you doing by yourself in the dark?â
sophie let out a breath that frosted the window, lifting a hand to trace a squiggly line through it.
âi just needed a break,â she said quietly, biting her lip. she really just wanted a moment alone, but didnât want simon to get the wrong idea.
it was their wedding day. shouldnât it be the happiest day of her life?
why was she hanging out in a dusty old room instead of celebrating with her family and new husband?
because she could only take so much of the arrogant aristocratic stares and plastic smiles. hell, her cheeks and jaw needed a break from all the pleasantries.
she knew what she was signing up for when she agreed to marry him and have a large wedding reception at barrington. but she hadnât factored in how much her family would clash in comparison to the montjoysâ and their high society friends. not that her family had bad manners or anything, but they couldnât be expected to know the ins and outs of navigating and dining with these snobs and she felt like she had to run interference constantly.
she and simon barely had a chance to actually enjoy their own reception together.
thank goodness they had a few minutes after the post-ceremony photoshoot and before the reception, but her energy levels were severely depleted.
sophie closed her eyes and hummed appreciatively as simon wrapped his arms around her from behind. her head fell back onto his chest, his arms cradling her body against him. the chill she felt before disappeared immediately, replaced by the warmth against her back.
âiâm sorry i left you to the wolves. why did we invite so many people?â
she chuckled. âi was just thinking the same thing. i feel like i havenât seen you since the ceremony. and itâs our wedding day.â
âdo you regret marrying me already?â he asked quietly. there was a mirth to his voice but his eyes lacked the twinkle that sheâd come to know as his subtle way of letting her know his tone was lighthearted.
she turned in his arms and looked up at him. âof course not. i knew what i was getting into,â she backtracked at his arched brow. âmostly.â
âi canât wait until itâs just you and me,â he said, lowering his head so he could leave a chaste kiss on her forehead. âdonât plan on getting any sleep tonight, wife.â
âoh? what do you have planned, husband?â
his eyes twinkled. âi love hearing you call me that.â
he dropped one hand from her waist and pulled back, letting the other trail down her arm until it grasped her hand. she was already missing the warmth of his body against hers.
simon gave her fingers a gentle squeeze before bringing her hand up to his lips, grazing his own against her knuckles. his touch was featherlight, barely touching her skin, and yet, it sent a not unwelcome tremor down her spine.
âonce more unto the breach?â he asked with a warm smile and sophie chuckled.
âletâs do this,â she said determinedly, tucking her arm into his and letting him escort her back to the main ballroom.

So I know this is me, as a British person, playing a story about the UK written by Americans (obviously written by Americans!) But they haven't swapped the steering wheel around! It might be a difficult thing or a thing they didn't realise but as a British Person it mildly annoyed me đ
