Is it just me or their are parallels to the finale episode of The Owl House: Watching and Dreaming, and the last episodes of Avatar:The last Airbender?

Luz had horrible thoughts of wanting to end Belos with the power of the collector, but could not bear the thought of ending him brutally. Even questionning herself if she is like Belos. Aang on the other hand trying to find a way to end the Fire Lord's reign without killing him, but friends and other avatars told him the only option to end his reign is to kill him. He was even give twice the option to kill him during the time he redirected the Fire Lord's lightning & during he was in the Avatar state.

But both of these protagonist didn't go with the most brutal option, instead they were given another way to end the big bad. Luz was given the power of the titan by King's dad, meanwhile Aaang was taught by the Lion Turtle how to remove someones bending. If people say tis plot armor that they are given another way to finish someone without the brutality. Let me tell you it wasn't given for free. King's dad saw how kind Luz was to their son and he gave the decision to Luz the decision if she wants the power or not. Plus Luz earn that gift because of her kindness and loving the titan's son like one of her own family. Aang was struggling and contemplating whether he should kill Ozai during the final battle. And The Lion turtle did warn him to be careful in using the energy bending because ozai's energy might corrupt him. But Aang won because his spirit was strong enough to withstand ozai's being.

The way that their respective bad got defeated by not giving an inch to the whims of their big bad. Belos was trying to manipulate Luz to save him, taunting her they are both humans, they are not like the beings in the Isle. I saw this analysis on twitter how it is so satisfting how Belos used the titan's name to justify the things he has done to the Isle, only to be defeated by Luz who was entrusted by the power of the titan. And how the Titan's power protected Luz front the acid rain of the Boling Isle, while Belos is melting away metaphorically losing his humanity. I just like she is just staring at him coldly and how Eda, king & Raine came then stomping Belos to the ground . It's like the scene is saying you have used my name long enough to inflict pain & deceit to the the Boiling Isles. Therefore, I will let these people who you caused so much harm to end your reign.

Ozai tried taunting Aang into killing him, calling him weak, and calling the air nomads weak. But Aang didn't give an inch to Ozai's taunt instead he defeated Ozai by the way the Air nomads taught him about life. He striped of Ozai's power by taking away his fire bending, power that he used for his brutality & selfishness. The Air nomads won through Aang, their legacy won over a war of violence & pain.

I love how these two protagonist, Luz & Aang, protagonist who are kind, compassionate & gentle, defeat the antagonist by not losing who they are as characters. For not letting the antagonist win by caving into their demands, instead the antagonist is stripped of all the things they hold dearly about themselves.

🍫Fat/Dad bod.Give that guy some REAL thickness,none of that dehydrated bodybuilder bullshit.It was caused by him eating a lot more and a lot healthier,both from his healing arc with a new enviorment that's actually good for him and to sustain himself in training and Aang also has some chub going on but from the start of the series and he helps Zuko know there's nothing wrong with big builds and Zuko has pretty much no body insecurities as a result just like he does(it dispelling fears of resembling Ozai as he got older certainly didn't hurt)

🍫Katara and him are honorary siblings and she's his way cooler little sister figure and he's her older brother only she can bully 2:Electric Boogalo.I like to think they make matching friendship bracelets with eachother's aesthetics(so a sea themed one for Zuko and a gothic themed one for Katara)and Zuko convinces Katara to emotionally rely on him even if she'll never see him as a dad like Aang and Toph do and it eventually works

🍫He also is the reason she discovered cat cafes and she goes to them bi-monthly now as comfort and to unwind from all her constant activism.Zuko's a huge fan of cat cafes too and they were safe spaces for him pre-banishment and one of the first thing's he did when the war ended was go to one again.Whoever Zuko is dating is given cat cafe punch cards by him as one of the ultimate romantic gestures in his mind(he right though)

Modern Gaang au headcanons ft.my Atla s/i Nia because i'm finally in the mood to post them

Aang is a solarpunk kid raised in the lifestyle in addition to his tibetan culture and as a buddhist by his granddad Gyatso.He started a gardening club at his high school and did a petition/protest to get vegan options on the lunch menu that succeeded and openly out as genderfluid and on testosterone since he was 12

Nia is his cousin in blood but his sister in heart as they grow up so closely thanks to the blended generations living in their earthship with Gyatso,Dahla and Yung meaning they were raised more as siblings than anything else.Nia attends college with a children's education major and an art minor and is pastel punk and afrosolarpunk and fully into the subculture and has a part time job at a bodega.His transmasc genderfluid and bigender femme identity is an open secret

Katara is a rez kid gone punk who diy's and thrifts literally all her gear and resources and got kicked out of 8 schools by 14 due to how much she refused to stop standing up to bullies.She listens to Mcr and is a star student even with all the smack she talks to racist/misogynistic/ableist teachers and does activism after school and is a trans girl who pretty much never thought she was a boy.Nia used to babysit her so they're like sisters and he used to mentor Katara in multiple things(autism,transgenderism,punkism,etc)

Sokka is also a rez kid as Katara's brother but opted for skapunk specifically.Not 'He's a skater boy so he's automatically punk' but as in he's major into the skapunk side of punk and the political sides as him,Aang,Nia and Katara do their activism and direct action together pretty often as childhood friends that still live in the same town and him and Nia hated eachother as kids but outgrew it.Also he's a bi trans dude and dating Yue from the next town over until Yue realizes she's a lesbian and they stay besties!!

Zuko is a tradgoth,japanese-american(as in,heavily tied to his heritage in a realistic japanese-american experience because i'm so tired of both whitewashing and orientalism in modern aus for him)and physically disabled with chronic pain and fatigue and crutches as his mobility aids.The tradgoth part was taken on in his college freshmen year to rebel against Ozai but also just to grow into himself finally as it felt right and he always had an interest in goth subculture and Ozai tried to ban him from it so he dived in the second he was outta sight

He gave him his scar at 14 still but with stove fire and he has a fear of cooking years later as a result.His college years run on a scolarship he worked his ass off for(and same with Azula)to be completely disconneted from him and his majors are theater and enviormental acience and his own part time job is at a cat cafe,where he met the Flight Siblings due to it being a hangout spot of theirs already.Him and Aang instantly clicked platonically so with him the Flight Siblings are The Peace Trio

Toph starts out a heavily closeted transmasc nonbinary girl who sneaks off to do underground wrestling behind her parents' back and befriending Aang at detition is the first step to liberating herself she took,followed by befriending Katara too at lunch time when he eagerly dragged her over to their table.It escalates into a few months of bestieisms,culminating in the elder Lobsangs getting custody of her and a restraining order on her Lao and Poppy as she provides evidence of the abuse they were putting her through in court.Toph tried to pull an 'ew lmao girly fru fru girl' on Nia but he gained her respect pretty quickly with his hardcoreness(and got her into Korn).She dresses like a lesbian farmer post-adoption and her new family provides her a lot more indepence as opposed to infantilization over her blindness but also loads of TLC to help her heal and let her know she can rely on them if she needs it.Considered 'the weird girl' at school but scares people so bad she dosen't get bullied(which ofc was traumatized in of itself as she was so lonely)

Jet is a slightly older punk dude who grew up around Katara like Nia but a Nega-Nia i.e tried to be a bad influence on her even if he wasn't abusive or anything like that.He was her first crush too and took a year abroad before coming back just to not go to college and vibe in a tatto shop instead.There's fakeout love triangle gags with him and Kataang and it's officially settled when he says Katara is like a sister to him and she responds now she has two older brothers she's better at being punk at tham with a cheeky look on her face.Jet ends up nearly fumbling Sokka but Sokka is so down bad it's impossible to legit to downhill so they do date and get married......years down the line

Azula,Mai and Ty Lee are pretty close backstory wise to canon but Azula's already cut ties to Ozai by the time she enters the picture out of self-preservation and the three of them grew up together steadily with Ty Lee as a gymnatics prodigy with countless medals and Mai living the tradgoth life completely as an outlet to her shitty homelife in secret except for the two of them.Once they meet Nia their life changes for the better as he seeks them out often and teaches them better coping mechanisms and they're good close friends to him in turn by going out of their way for him as comedic relief.Azula becomes visual kei and Ty Lee becomes punk lolita

Zuko goes to boba shops every friday night,Katara is a gamer girl who's faves are indie games and she knows tons of deep dive facts and hack codes and creates mods and drinks energy drinks and has a pair of blue cat ear headphones Aang bought for her and Ty Lee and Azula kinda knew since elementary school they're in love and acted on it silenly yet completely unsubtly but college is when they got finally officially date

Nia helps Zuko out on his cooking trigger(which lead to a diet and even starving himself sometimes)by cooking for him all the time in a wide variety of cuisine and even brings the food over to his dorm occasionally.Food is a love language for him

And Nia's love language is participating in his niche/alt interests with him as he got bullied for them pretty brutally and that gave him ptsd/bpd too.Zuko thinks Nia's interests are the coolest thing before even finding out about it so 100+ boyfriend points to him
