Despite being busier than normal with a large berry harvest this year. I made sure to take time away from working to soak in a rose filled birthday bath! 🌹 This rose bush blooms once a year and I look forward to soaking in her petals! 🌹 This year I picked extra to dry and add to bathsalts for the fall and winter months. 🌹 I am so thankful for my partner and all the work he did to make this soaking space for me! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #witchesofinstagram #waterpriestess #witchylife #waterwitch #witch #witchy #instawitch #witchesofig #witchesofinsta #witchlife #witchcraft #Waterwitchcraft #merwitch #ritual #waterspell #watermagicpath #witchy #priestesspath #Avalonian #bathwitch #bathmagic #rosebath #sacredrose https://www.instagram.com/p/CCJlevynDkc/?igshid=1mlqbkdh8wu14

Yeah! I'm so excited to have another person here with a path similarly related. While I practice Avalonain witchcraft I do recognize Arthur and his role within our history. Anyway, welcome!!
Welcome Post
So, I don’t expect this blog to be very popular or anything, as this niche seems to be very small. This is more a blog strictly for my own notes and ideas.
But for those that do come across this blog, this is a fair warning that every post I make will be UPG. Which is, Unverified Personal Gnosis. What this means is that everything on this blog is from my own journey, my own thought, and my own ideas.
I practice a form of witchcraft that I refer to as Arthurian Witchcraft. This essentially means I incorporate the stories of King Arthur into my practice and have developed a path based on that.
I have read many books about the subject and where I can I will make notes of these books and sources, however due to the fact that much of the information on king Arthur is iffy at best, everything should be taken with a grain of salt.
I will also be tagging things as Avalonian simply because many of my posts will also deal with the ideas of Avalonian witchcraft as well.

My wife and I just purchased our tank for our first aquascape! For this 20g long we are planning an Avalonian scape with a grove of apple trees in the background. We are still trying to figure out how to make the "apples" but we'll get there.

So, a bit about me...
I figured, since I'm a new witchcraft blog on here, that I would talk a little bit about my practices and beliefs. Just an overview.
I have been researching and practicing paganism and witchcraft since I was about 11 years old, but I've held some non-Christian beliefs since I was very young. Stuff like nature spirits, reincarnation, ancestor veneration, and animal/plant omens are very crucial for my practice and integral to how I perceive and move through the world around me.
I started out by doing research on Greco-Roman deities, as so many witches have. I then moved to Norse deities, and then settled on Celtic, though I have done surface-level research on several other cultures. I did some soul searching for a few years, walking for a time with Blodeuwedd, Rhiannon, and Cerridwen from the Welsh pantheon; Airmid, the Morrígan, and Danu from the Irish pantheon; traveled a bit on the Avalonian/Arthurian path, followed closely by Druidry, before coming home to rest with Brighid.
For six years, I worked closely with Brighid, following the Goddess and Saint in my daily routine, letting her guide me. However, as I went along, I felt a distancing from her and the other Gods. Some more than others, but more often than not, when I stood at my altar, I stood alone. I wandered nature, and felt imbued with Divinity, but still felt alone, somehow.
My belief in the Gods has admittedly ebbed and flowed through the years, but in the past year and a half, even when I am centered and my mind is quiet, I feel no tethering to some faraway deity, with a made up name and face. I am instead tied to the trees and flowers, to the birds and bees, to the rain and rivers...and, of course, to the Fae.
I have, in the past few months, disconnected from deity, and have been connecting directly with primal earth energies and the often soft-spoken spirits of the wilds. I still recognize and believe in the Gods, but I feel as if they are not among us as they were for our pre-Christian ancestors. This could just be my perception, who's to say?
Anyway, this has gotten a bit long. I could go on, I suppose, but I'm getting bored of talking about myself, lol
I will continue this at a later date, where I will discuss more of my deeper beliefs.

This perfectly mirrors my own view, it's funny how similar beliefs can be while never fully interacting.
Explanation of Reincarnation
•You are the universe.
•You are the universe expressing itself as a human being for a short time.
•You are the universe being aware of itself, seeing itself though your eyes.
•You are not the individual self / ego that you identify with. That’s just a role-playing game the Universe is playing.
•When the body dies, the ego dies and the illusion of an individual self dies too.
•But the Universe goes on, expressing itself in new and various ways.
•People die, and babies are born.
•You are the universe, you are life itself. You will not die, you will go on, expressing yourself and role-playing in various life after life.

Simple magic
A post on simple magic as pertains to my Avalonian path.
Magic, how I perceive it, is born from something as simple as a need. It is up to the individual Priestess to determine how and when to act on these needs, keeping themselves in balance with the energies around them and the energies of the earth it self.
I find that the best way to find balance within myself and to attune to the balance of the earth is to sync with its cycles. To observe the moons cycle from light to dark and then back again. To feel the start of a seasons change before a marked calendar day. If you stop and look around just a few moments each day you will notice a change, trust me.
But sometimes...sometimes you feel as if you have that balance and you have that need. You preform your ritual and your magics. And nothing happens.
I would say to you to look back again to the earth and its cycle of time, see that it is an ever evolving cycle built so that Goddess can know Herself. Our earth and its inhabitants have gone through cycles or ages, ever expanding, ever growing since the source of Goddess was conceived. Since that moment we have gone from one golden age into a dark age, only to find our way into golden once more.
But what does this have to do with Avalonian magic?
Your life is a small scale of the cycle of time, of the seasons and of the moon. If your magics are not coming to harvest it is only because it is not the right cycle. Return to the earth, watch for its inclination that it is ready to begin great work. Take your cue from the moon, is it time for introspection and shadow work or is it a time for self care? Look to the seasons, is it time to sew the seeds of new magics to bring forth solutions to current needs or is it time to release what has not come to harvest for this cycle?

There has been an influx of new followers so I thought I would do an introduction post! 💙 My name is Annwyn Avalon. Yes, Annwyn is my legal first name. I grew up playing on the beaches and sludging through the swamps of Florida. 💙 I have lived many places, but the most interesting is Okinawa Japan. While living there I decided that I would take my practice from dabbling with candles, crystals and cards to a serious study. I worked with my first circle (really we were like a coven) there. We had a stone circle and we often met on the beach to clean and tend the land. I had my first encounter with the Goddess of the Sea on those sacred shores. I also performed my first sacred dance piece there! 💙 When I moved back to the states I landed in the south. I formed my own circle and we met of the beach for ritual. It was short lived as I was young and had much to learn. Not long after I found experienced teachers and went through intense formal training. Initiated as both Witch and Priestess. I then entered training into the Avalonian Mysteries. I taught dance classes then too and held Goddess and magical themed shows. 💙 I moved to Arizona and dove deep into the mysteries of water. Triskele Rose Witchcraft was born and grew from local to national! I danced a lot in those days. I taught 3-4 classes a week, sacred dance workshops and worked with some of my sweet dance students in a student troupe. 💙 Now I live in the PNW on a little homestead I call Rose Thorn. I work full time as an esoteric teacher, card reader, Water Priestess and Village Witch! You can find my book Water Witchcraft: Magic and lore from the Celtic Tradition everywhere books are sold. Also be looking for my forthcoming book The Way of the Water Priestess (January 2021) 💙 You can take classes, book me for a reading or consult and take classes by visiting Waterwitchcraft.com and WaterPriestess.com. Join me every Wednesday at 11am PST for a livestream! Free readings, water magic and real talk!!! . . . . My Avalonian prayer beads are finished!
Prehnite chips, Serpentine spheres and pendant, Labradorite silver plated pendant and glass moon spheres. This was such an amazing process and I couldn't be more happy with how they've turned out.

Hi Everyone! I haven't done an introduction post in a very long time. So I thought today would be a great day for one. If you already didn't know my name is Annwyn (yes that is my legal name) I have devoted my life to learning art, magic and witchcraft. I have studied art (BFA) and anthropology (BA) specializing in plant and human interactions. In my academic work I study water and how it connects with ritual, energy, women, priestess arts, magic, witchcraft and so much more! I guess you could say I am obsessed with water. Besides my obsession with water I am a dancer @celestialwaterarts and the High Priestess of @triskelerose which is a Celtic/Avalonian Witchcraft Tradition. We have covensteads in 3 locations across the U.S. I wrote a book (link in bio) and just finished my 2nd book (see below post about 10 down) Both focus on water and its esoteric nature. I also live on a little Homestead in Oregon where we have a creek, 2 dogs, 4 cats, a Peacock, Peafoul, Turkey Hen and about 20 chickens. I grow flowers, fruits, veggies and am working hard on living a sustainable life out in the country, but its hard! I also teach many classes, usually about water and always with a magical theme. Some are sacred dance or protection magic classes and some are long series like the 9 Month Water Magic Course and the Water Priestess Training Program. I am very blessed to be able to live my dream and hope that the images and info here inspire you in your own path. I am a bit old school, from the time when we had to keep things secret for our safety, before IG. Because of this I sometimes struggle with what to share here, but I have been getting much better. While a large portion of my craft is still secret and silent my work as a Water Witch and Priestess is not. Years ago when I first made spirit contact with the Water Spirits I asked for healing and in return I dedicated myself to their service. I never expected to write a book or be this public about my magical life, but this is the work they want me to do. To spread the message of water, to revive the old magical practices associated with water and to help people remember that water is sacred. Thank you for being here! https://www.instagram.com/p/B8SW7bsntS4/?igshid=1d4mx16mcj677

It is possible that what you are looking for doesn’t exist in a book because it’s only something that exist in social media.
If you are looking for a list of types like crystal witch, divination witch, tea witch, air witch, moon witch, sun witch... the list goes on. I have only ever seen these “types” of witches on social media. The books won’t have lists of them because these types are just a reference to tools witches use and limiting yourself in this way is, well, limiting.
This page on wikipedia -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_modern_pagan_movements
is a more accurate representation of types. But even it is only a small slice of the paths and traditions out there. For example it lists British Traditional Wicca but not British Traditional Witchcraft and you really don’t want to get those confused. Avalonian is missing entirely and that is an existing tradition. Black Rose Witchcraft is missing. I believe it may fall under Feri. And the list, perhaps wisely, doesn’t address certain cultural traditions that may or may not be considered part of witchcraft by the people who practice them. (Voodoo, Hoodoo and Santeria).
The most helpful advice I can give is that trying to list ALL types is an exercise in futility and won’t really move anything forward. And if you find it in a book (try Christopher Penczak, the boy loves listing things) it will likely be outdated before the book hits print.
does anyone have any reliable info on different types of witch’s? i can’t find any in the books I got from the library 🥹💖
