I’m gonna gush about The Journal I’ve made for 2025

So the point of a travelers notebook, as I’ve said before, is to sling together booklets that can be interchanged inside a leather cover
Here’s my setup

The inside cover has a contact card and stencil just in case. I have a plastic sleeve insert that can hold cards but since it’s see thru I have it holding photos

The other side of the plastic sleeve holds temporary lists (this ones my Christmas list.) this is also the cover of my Annual book, a book that will ideally last half the year, if not all of it

After that it’s a future log. Also in this book are lists I’ll reference often: automotive information, wishlists, long term to-dos and other such things

Then we have the back of the plastic sleeve with a zipper. Right now I just have a few receipts in there

I then have the card side of my wallet insert. On the other side I have some gift cards, on the side pictures I have important reference cards. I’m debating putting payment cards in here, idk. Right now my phone is also my wallet. The other side of this insert has a zipper and I keep cash inside.

Then I have the monthly book, which will ideally last one month. First I have my diary card, essentially a mood tracker that I bring to my therapist every time we meet

Then I set up all my weekly spreads for the month. On the left, I write any appointments before hand, and then at the end of every day I write a few short bullets about what happened that day. On the right, I have recurring tasks at the top, one off tasks beneath that, time tracking tasks beneath that, and a “need to get” list at the bottom

Also in this book are my daily pages for to dos, random notes and long hand journaling. There’s nothing in this page I don’t mind people reading but I can’t say the same for my entire notebook.

On 8 June 2008, Tomohiro Katō drove a five-ton, rented Isuzu Elf truck into a crowd at the crossing of Kanda Myōjin-dōri and Chūō-dōri streets in Akihabara, Chiyoda, Tokyo. While Kanda Myōjin-dōri was open to vehicular traffic, Chūō-dōri was closed for the convenience of shopping pedestrians, a practice observed during Sundays and holidays. At 12:33, Katō hit five people with the truck after ignoring a red light. As some people gathered to care for the victims, Katō climbed out of the truck and stabbed at least 12 people with a dagger, according to a witness, while screaming. Police chased Katō and cornered him in a narrow alley, and a police officer pointed a gun at him; he dropped his knife and was held down by the police at 12:35 about 170 meters away from the truck.

At least 17 ambulances rushed to the scene as passersby tried to aid the victims. Five of the victims reportedly died at the scene. It was initially reported two people died from the attack, and during the day the death toll increased to seven. Later, it was determined through autopsies that three victims died as a result of being hit by the truck while the other four were fatally stabbed.
According to police and hospital officials, six of the seven victims who were killed were men, including Kazunori Fujino and his friend Takahiro Kamaguchi (both 19), Katsuhiko Nakamura (74), Naoki Miyamoto (31), Mitsuru Matsui (33), and Kazuhiro Koiwa (47). One woman, Mai Mutō (21), was also killed. Communication records showed that Mutō probably made an emergency call to police from her mobile phone, though she left no message. Later that day, a makeshift memorial was created by the public.

Tomohiro Katō (28 September 1982 – 26 July 2022) grew up in a suburban home in Aomori. His father was a top manager in a financial institution. Katō's grades were considered to be exceptional in elementary school and he was a top track athlete. He entered Tsukuda Junior High School, where he became president of the tennis club. However, Katō started to behave violently at home after enrolling at Aomori High School, an elite high school. There, his class academic ranking fell to 300 (of 360 students) and he failed entrance examinations for the prestigious Hokkaido University, eventually training as an auto mechanic at Nakanihon Automotive College. Katō was hired as a temporary worker at an auto parts factory in Shizuoka Prefecture, though he had been recently told that his job was to be cut at the end of June.
Katō reportedly did not get along well with his parents, and seldom returned home. An interview with Katō's brother revealed that his parents had put immense pressure on both of them to perform and to excel in their studies, ordering them to redo their homework to high standards in order to impress teachers in school, and recalled one incident when Katō was made to eat scraps of food from the floor. Another neighbor recounted an incident where Katō's parents forced him to stand outside for hours in deep, cold snow during winter. Previous online postings before his announcement of the attack contained sharp criticisms of his upbringing. Deeply in debt and believing that his family had given up on him, Katō unsuccessfully attempted suicide in 2006 by ramming his car into a wall.
Three days before the attack, on 5 June, Katō accused people at his workplace of hiding his work clothes and left the premises immediately afterwards. Apparently he believed at this point he was going to lose his job, though this was not actually the case, and may have triggered the attack.
Katō apparently posted messages from his mobile phone to a website called "Extreme Exchange, Revised", revealing his intentions through his final message 20 minutes before the attack. A police official stated the first message read, "I will kill people in Akihabara." Other messages he is alleged to have posted include, "If only I had a girlfriend, I wouldn't have quit work", "I would never have become addicted to my mobile phone. Anybody with hope couldn't possibly understand how I feel", and, "I don't have a single friend and I won't in the future. I'll be ignored because I'm ugly. I'm lower than trash because at least the trash gets recycled." The message also referred to "a stabbing spree in Tsuchiura". Based on Katō's messages, commentators referred to the incident as another case of Japan's hikikomori becoming more violent and suicidal. Later messages revealed Katō's plan to use a vehicle until it became inoperable, and then to use a knife to continue the attack on foot. He waited for Chūō-dōri to close at noon to vehicular traffic before commencing the attack. Katō later said that he posted the online messages hoping that police would take notice and stop him.
Katō was arrested for attempted murder after a police officer spotted him stabbing a woman. On 10 June, the police sent him to Tokyo District Prosecutor's Office. On 20 June, the police arrested him again on suspicion of murder of the seven victims. That same day, the Prosecutor's Office withheld action on him for the first suspicion. While being positive about his capacity to be held criminally liable, the Prosecutor's Office decided by 20 June to demand that Katō's detention for a psychiatric test be authorized by the Tokyo District Court.
Katō erased all contacts and communication records from his mobile phone just prior to the attack, the purpose of which he confessed was to avoid annoying those around him.
The weapons Katō used in the attack were reportedly purchased two days before at a military supply shop in Fukui, at about 12:40. Katō spent about twenty minutes in the store, purchasing a telescopic baton and a pair of leather gloves, while the store's CCTV captured him conversing with the salesman and demonstrating stabbing motions. Katō came to Akihabara the day before the attack to sell his personal computer and some software to raise money to rent the truck

On 24 March 2011, Katō was sentenced to death by the Tokyo District Court after it found him fully responsible for the attack. In September 2012, the Tokyo High Court upheld the death penalty on appeal. Katō expressed remorse over the massacre, stating that he "would like to apologize to those who passed away, the injured, and their families". Upon entering a guilty plea, he said he "knew he was the culprit though he had no memory of some parts of the incident". The Supreme Court of Japan upheld the death penalty on 2 February 2015. Katō's death sentence was subsequently finalized, and he was held on death row until he was executed by hanging at the Tokyo Detention House on the morning of 26 July 2022.

It’s my first time posting my writing. Go easy on me!
A Reckless Encounter
I've always been a fighter. From the moment I took my first breath in this chaotic world, I learned to battle against the odds that life threw at me. It wasn't easy, though. Growing up with an abusive father, I sought refuge in drugs and alcohol, drowning my sorrows in a haze of self-destruction.
But life had a funny way of throwing curveballs. One fateful night, my reckless ways caught up with me, and I found myself being arrested. As luck would have it, instead of languishing in a jail cell, I was given a chance at redemption in the Marines as an Automotive Maintenance Technician.
The Marines whipped me into shape, physically and mentally, and instilled within me a sense of discipline. After years of service, I decided to embark on a new journey as a field agent for Gibbs’ NCIS team. Gibbs, was an enigma—gruff, tough, and intriguing. And damn, did he stir something within me.
We clashed like thunder and lightning, our arguments a constant symphony in the bullpen. He berated me for my reckless behavior, and I shot back with my signature stubbornness. But beneath our heated exchanges, there were sparks of chemistry, a magnetic pull that had us tiptoeing the line between professionalism and desire.
One day, during a particularly tense mission, I made a costly mistake. Gibbs threatened to strip me of my field duties.
The team, briefing room. Now," he barks, his voice firm and commanding.
I walk into the room, feeling the weight of Gibbs' gaze burning into the back of my head. Tony and McGee sit on one side, exchanging playful banter. Ziva stands off to the side, her eyes flickering with curiosity.
Gibbs glares at me as he enters, his eyes filled with a mix of annoyance and concern. I try to avoid his gaze, but it's like a magnet drawing me in.
"Y/n," he starts, his deep voice cutting through the tension.
I take a deep breath, mentally preparing myself for the onslaught of reprimands.
"You made a mistake out there. A big one," Gibbs continues, his voice low and controlled.
I clench my fists, feeling the anger bubbling up inside me. I refuse to let him treat me like a child.
"You can't keep going out on field ops if you're gonna put the whole team at risk," he growls. I feel a surge of adrenaline rush through my veins. This is it. The moment I've been waiting for. The moment where all my pent-up frustrations come to the surface
But I didn’t! Quit treating me like a damn rookie!" I shouted. "So either take me off field ops or get the hell off my back."
Gibbs looked like he wanted to slap me upside the head. But instead, he just glared and walked out without another word.

Suddenly, my phone buzzes. A new case. I glance at Gibbs. But his steely gaze is fixed on me. Not in anger, but something else entirely. Gibbs breaks the silence. "Alright, Y/L/N, you think you can handle this mission?" Gibbs asked, his voice laced with skepticism. I knew he was questioning my abilities, but I wasn't about to back down.
"Of course I can, Gibbs," I replied, my voice dripping with confidence. "I've been through worse."
Gibbs narrowed his eyes at me, clearly not amused. "Don't let your recklessness get in the way. We're dealing with dangerous criminals here."
I smirked at him, unable to resist pushing his buttons. "Would you prefer me to be cautious and boring?” Gibbs stepped closer. Our nose were millimetres apart. His icy blue eyes filled with rage. “Watch your tone, Y/L/N.” I took a second to process what he said before I smirked and said “Are we gonna fight or make out because I’m getting some mixed signals here, Jet.”
Gibbs froze, his jaw dropping slightly. I could practically see the gears turning in his head as he processed my words. But before he could respond, I turned on my heel and walked away, leaving him speechless.
As the days turned into weeks, the tension between us grew. We argued, we clashed, and yet, there was an unspoken connection, a chemistry that neither of us could deny. We went through the motions, burying our feelings under Gibbs' infamous Rule Twelve.
But fate has a way of knocking sense into us when we least expect it. On one particularly dangerous assignment, I found myself in a life-or-death situation. The fear gripped me as I looked into the eyes of mortality.
And in that moment, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I couldn't hold back my feelings any longer.
As I lay there, battered and bruised, Gibbs rushed to my side. His voice was filled with worry as he yelled my name. And in a hoarse whisper, I confessed, "I don't want to die without you knowing how I feel."
And just like that, the floodgates opened. Gibbs confessed his own feelings, his voice shaking with emotion.
We had fought, we had argued, and we had danced around each other for so long. But in that moment, we both knew that love had a funny way of finding us in the midst of chaos.

5. What kind of phone do they have and what does it look like?
Adelais has a top-of-the-line cell phone, and to explain what that means, I have to explain a bit about tech in this universe. Since it's all mana based, it operated off of intention. There are no buttons. The entire user interface is just...holding the screen and thinking of what you want it to do and where you want text to appear. It does contain things that vaguely resemble microchips inside of it, but they wouldn't actually work without magic. The technology to make computers function hasn't actually been discovered - they just got halfway there and let magic do the rest. Adelais' phone is a rectangle of white frosted glass with gold trim in sort of art nouveau patterns, a speaker, and a camera. Camera phones have only recently become common - think early 2000s. Adelais' phone is custom built for him with special security features to avoid hacking. It would be quite hard for anyone to use it without his permission.
8. What clubs would they have been in while in high school or college?
Adelais didn't attend normal school. He worked with private tutors. However, he does associate with certain clubs, including sharpshooting (with Rodrick) and chess. Also an automotive club. Very exclusive, focused on custom vehicles.
29. What’s a memorable moment from their childhood?
I'm going to do a sad one, because of course (and because the ask above inspired me):
Adelais once made friends with a child of one of the servants. He wanted to go to school with that child, and asked if he could do that instead of being tutored. But he wasn't allowed. His parents told him that he shouldn't want to play with rabble anyway, and punished him for the suggestion by taking away the wooden swords that the two children had been playing with. After that, Adelais felt ashamed that he'd wanted to be friends, and started bullying the other child until the servant stopped bringing him to the palace altogether, and Adelais was mostly alone again.

5. What kind of phone do they have and what does it look like?
Ninlen's phone works the same way as Adelais', but it is not as high tech. The difference between "high tech" and not is mostly the responsiveness. You have to think harder about what you intend to do, and perhaps even input some magic yourself, when operating a cheap phone. And it may be easier for others to fool the phone into thinking they are you, and essentially hack it. Ninlen's phone was just supplied by the palace with extra monitoring and tracking on it, so it isn't anything fancy. His old phone was also supplied by his employer. Both were simple devices, with an unadorned case.
8. What clubs would they have been in while in high school or college?
Ninlen didn't even have time for classes, let alone clubs. My beloved high school dropout...however, if he had been able to take part in a club, I think he would've liked creative writing or literature. Probably some athletics as well - he likes to be outdoors.
29. What’s a memorable moment from their childhood?
One thing I don't think I've talked about at all is Ninlen's father. He abandoned the family when Ninlen was still a baby, but Ninlen has a few memories from before that time. The strongest one is just sitting in his crib, looking through a doorway, while his parents argued quite viciously. He was too young to understand what they were talking about, and only perceived his father as a threat to his mother, nothing more.
Maybe it's for the best that he left.

What Data Are We Talking About?
When you hear “vehicle data,” it does not simply refer to maps and mileage. The depth and granularity of the data points collected is staggering. It includes:
