autistic! theo nott hcs because i want to

in first year he claimed a table at the library and sat at it so many times he couldnt sit anywhere else. one day he comes in to see some random sitting in 'his' seat and accidentally pops the poor lads inkpot out of rage. there was a hasty reparo from theo and a very quick exit after that

has broken so many quills from bending them between his fingers its unreal. he buys them in batches of ten or twenty and has broken all of them by terms end

hates getting his hair cut but also hates feeling his hair on the back of his neck. every month or so its a constant internal turmoil

really likes potions but hates touching the slimy ingredients so often ends up compromising with his partner with him doing the "boring stuff" like precise weighing or stirring to get out of touching the awful textures.

hates divination bcs there are no solid rules. the phrase "its up to interpretation" puts him into fight-or-flight mode

once stupefied someone as a reflex when they grabbed his shoulder. he was very deep into a good book and it scared the shit out of him. do not grab him ever

has learned how to use silencing charms that follow him so he doesnt have to hear the loud noises in the corridoors. this also makes it very hard to get his attention

uses sarcasm often but half of it is by accident. he just doesn't tell them its accidental

"hey, wanna go to x?"

"well. doesnt that sound exciting?"

"no need to get snarky, theo. i'm just saying it could be fun"

*was being completely serious* "fine, then. i suppose there's no harm in trying it"

brilliant poker face purely because he forgets to show emotion half the time in any way thats noticeable if you arent either used to it or looking for it

very twitchy. like, he cannot sit still. he can try. but it wont last long.

'quiet kid' until you ask him about time travel or something he's interested in. then you can't get him to shut up. i am a firm believer in theo nott who wanted to be an unspeakable but was put off by the confines of the ministry so decided to research mad shit by himself

loves the dungeons' low light level. no light means less headaches.

has the exact same breakfast every day: two toasts and a tea. except on holidays and his birthday, in which he has fruit pastries, or on sundays, where he has jam and toast

only found out he was autistic bcs a random kid he was working with asked him if he was 'on the spectrum' and he was so confused on what 'the spectrum' was that he fell down a research rabbithole and realised, oh

"sorry if this is overstepping, but are you on the spectrum?"

"the what"

"yknow, the autism spectrum"

"pardon my english, but what the fuck is an autism"

*two weeks of looking into it later*

*staring into a mirror* "ah"

hated the yule ball.absolutely despised it. went anyway because it was a once in a lifetime thing, but mainly hated it apart from the bit at the end where everyone left.

Overwhelmed - Theodore Nott x Reader

Summary: Theo's overwhelmed, and you're the only person who can 'fix' that

Theos POV for now, yours later!

Theodore Nott had a lot on his mind. Homework, friendships and pretty much everything under the sun seemed to have it out for him, which sucked ass. 

As he picked up his bag, wincing at the texture of his clothes rubbing against him, Theo left the library. It feltl ike walking out of a bubble and into a whirpool, and everything felt like it was swirling around him. Sounds hit him in a rush, a gaggle of girls laughing, the Weasley twins sniggering at their latest victim.. and then an angry Mattheo storming towards him. 

"Theo, dude, what the fuck? Why weren't you at practice?" Mattheo looked mad, and Theo felt a horrible sensation in his gut. He'd missed practice studying. The library was a sanctuary for him, he'd needed the break, but hadn't remembered the consequences for his hour and a half of peace. 

"I'm sorry. Lost track of time." Theo replied, avoiding eye contact with his best friend. He wasn't sure when him and Mattheo had become friends, he had just seemed to appear beside Theo like a mosquito and never leave. Before him, Theo had had problems making friends. Then Mattheo made Theo his 'problem'. And suddenly Theo had friends, kaboom. 

Finally daring to look up at his friend, Theo immediately lookied away again. Mattheo wasn't angry anymore, just disappointed. Somehow that was worse. 

"I get it. Just could you maybe.. turn up next time? It means a lot to me, I don't want Potter beating us his first year as captain." Mattheo shuddered. 

"It's your first year as captain too." Theo said pointedly. 

"I know, and I need my other beater on the pitch, kay? Be there next time." Mattheo clapped him on the shoulder, making Theo wince, and kept walking. 

Theo sighed, walking on towards Slytherin common room, catching Blaise at the door. 

"Hey man, Mattheo's looking for you." Blaise said absent mindedly,tapping shoulder and walking past him with his nose buried in a book Luna had given him on Nargles. Theo winced at the touch again, mumbling a thank you as he got inside.

The touch. Practice. Laughing. It was getting in his brain, swirling around his thoughts, pricking him with tiny needles, he kept walking, he got touched again, and now a girl was asking if he wanted to go to hogsmeade and he was looking at her blankly and saying no, and it was all too much and then he was moving faster, getting up into his dormitory where it was safe and calm and-

"Hey Teddy!"

Your POV

Your boyfriend was stood in the doorway, staring at you like a deer in headlights as you laid on his bed. He made a noise almost like a whimper before he dropped his bag, strode over to you and lay his head down in your lap, his face crumpling. 

You ran your fingers through his hair, lightly scratching his scalp in just the right way. You lay there like that with him for a while, waiting for him to speak, if he wanted to, your jeans slowly getting wetter, but you didn't mind.

"Too much." He finally whispered, eyes closed. You withdrew your fingers, worried you'd pushed him too far. He shook his head, putting your hand back in place. "Not you. Never you. Everything else." He whispered. 

"okay bubs." You whispered back to him. "Can I touch you?" You murmured, not wanting to upset him. He thought for a moment and then nodded. You leaned down and placed a small kiss on his temple. He looked at you blankly. "That was a kiss." He said flatly.  

"Yes. Was it okay?" You asked him, not forcing him to make eye contact. He pondered it.

"Yes." He sighed, lying in your lap. 

"Y/N, I'm sorry you have to put up with this. I wonder if there's a spell to make my head not like this, not all fuzzy and confused and tangled-" You gently placed a finger on his lips. 

"Theo, I like you like this. If you want to ifnd a spell for you, then that's okay, I'll help you, but don't change because you feel guilty. Okay? The right people love you anyway. I do. Okay bubba?" You kissed his temple again, and Theo frowned. 

"I hate autism." He folded his arms. You shook your head. 

"I think you hate feeling overwhelmed, not being autistic." You said softly. 

Theo nodded. "Theo, it makes no difference to how much I love you, but I think it's aweosme how you can sit down for hours and just focus in on something, whether it be a textbook or a doodle you started in class that you want to develop. Okay? I love you, silly." You smiled. 

Theo looked up at you and nodded. That would be all you got for the rest of the evening, but you didn't mind. He was still your Theo, and you wouldn't have him any other way.

Okay, I had to do a bit of research because I wanted it to be accurate enough that it actually correlates to autism so I hope I did well, you can correct me on anything if need be :)

Tom

Tom had noticed that you had been stressed lately and was making sure that you had some cool downtime. Right now you two were resting in the common room working on some homework. But it was quickly that you had started stimming in order to calm your body down. Tom had noticed you rocking a bit back and forth, along with finger flicking. He was smart and knew exactly what was happening.But what he also noticed was a few other students doing those same motions in a mocking way. Obviously they hadn’t seen the look on Tom's face yet because if they had, they’d be sure to run out of there quickly. Not wanting you to see what they were doing he calmly took you back to his dorm without a word, setting you on the bed and putting your books on his bed so you could relax in the change of environment. The next morning in the Great Hall three students were presumed missing. Coincidentally the three that were mocking you just yesterday

Blaise

Blaise was always good with helping you with things like stimming when you were overstimulated or anxious. Though one thing that he did notice was the looks people had given you when those stims happened. They’d either be giggling and whispering to each other or even openly mocking the moves that you do. Blaise hated it and was willing to do anything to stop it. This particular time you two were sitting in class. Unfortunately for you the professor had stepped out and the students started getting rowdy. The noise got to be too much and you had started stimming. Your hand was flapping, body tense. Blaise who was sitting next to you noticed quickly and went to comfort you. However, he was cut off when he noticed some boys flapping their hands mockingly and laughing. It didn’t last long though as Blaise was quick to stand up and storm to them. It wasn’t often that people could piss off Blaise so the boys shut up and sat down right away, after Blaise made it clear that if he saw it again it wouldn’t end well.

Theo

As we all know Theo has had his fair share in fights. So the second he saw anyone making fun of you or mentioning it in that condescending tone, he’d be in action. It had just happened not too long ago while you two were taking a walk and your stimming had started and just as he was going to sit down with you to calm you down he saw a small group of students giggling and whispering as they pointed at you. And to keep it short, Theo was furious. But there was no way that he was going to fight someone in front of you. So logically he kept by your side for the rest of the day, noting anyone else who had made fun of you. By the end of the day there were about 5 different students beaten and bruised up all laying in the hospital wing. They wouldn’t say who did it, but by your boyfriends bloodied and beaten up knuckles you could tell what happened. You just didn’t know why. Theo kept refusing to tell you mainly because he didn’t want your feelings to be hurt when he did so he simply said, “Nothing for you to worry about cara mia.”

Mattheo

Mattheo was resting with you on his chest. You two had been in class just earlier but were excused when you had been overstimulated and started stimming. The professors had understood your diagnosis and also knew that Mattheo was practically the only one who knew how to calm you down properly and he was also the only one you'd let calm you down as well. When he saw a few other students snickering to each other he was already about to beat them to a bloody pulp right there. And with the look on his face anyone could tell he’d do it too. That look was exactly what had stopped the students giggling about you as they went completely silent knowing it was a death wish to get on his bad side. Mattheo was calm now as you laid on his chest, headphones on to block out noise, and your eyes closed peacefully. He had always been glad that he was your safe spot. No matter what you’d always come to him for anything. It was a nice change of things for him and he couldn’t be happier about it.

Enzo

Although Enzo was often seen as kind or innocent he could really be the opposite most times. But when he saw people making fun of your stimming and small habits he was livid. He went straight up to them telling them off in front of everyone that gathered around them. When he walked back and didn’t see you he quickly ran off to his dorm knowing you’d be there. Opening the door he saw you rocking back and forth with noise canceling headphones on. Enzo knew that you were probably even more overwhelmed from the yelling and all the gathering people and felt a bit bad. He walked over though, making his presence known to you so that he didn’t frighten you more and sat down beside you. Making sure that you were alright if he touched you first, he then carefully brought you into his lap and kissed the top of your head. After a while of him rocking you back and forth like you had been doing before you ended up falling asleep right in his lap.

just some thoughts i had during a job fair in my town lolol

Lorenzo Berkshire: I can't see him being anything else other than in the vet field, after reading a fic... it fit him so well, and i had an epiphany when i read it lmao. Blaise Zabini: i feel like he would be a nutritionist, or a vet (like lorenzo). A nutritionist because i think he takes great care of himself - being very hygienic, exercising, playing football... - and prouding himself in being how he is. Theodore Nott: I can see him as being a journalist, and inheriting a place in a famous paper in the UK from his dad. i imagine his family having to move to england/ scotland from italy after his dad got a job as a high up there, though i imagine his dad being in the more financial side of the company. but when his dad found out theo wanted to be a writer/ journalist, he pulled some strings and got him a job there.

Mattheo Riddle: i can't see him as anything that isn't a tattoo artist/ body piercer, because the last thing i see him as is a guy in an office. i could see him bartending too, because i feel like he would really prioritise having a flowy environment to work, a tattoo parlour or a bar are very much his style. i read someone say that they imagined him and theo owning a nightclub together so that’s also in my mind time to time…

Draco Malfoy: lil bro is literally like Barney Stinson. he works in finance, and no one knows further than that. and he doesn't care that no one knows his official title itself, because in the end, all that matters to him is that they know he's richer than them in any and every way.

Tom Riddle: i can’t imagine him as anything other than being in the medicinal research field (no clue how it’s called lmao), or as a morgue worker. he likes how cold and silent it is, and he likes the routine he does with the bodies that come in. (i really think he’s at least a bit autistic, and really likes having a specific routine for day to day activities, so this job is really perfect in my view…)

I'm autistic, and i have general anxiety disorder, i have verbal tics, i often do 'pop' sounds with my mouth or reapete things out loud sometimes on a loop, (TW: I grew up in an abusing setting and i have scars, bad ones, especially on my back.) I'm insecure. My love language is giving the bigger half when i'm sharing, or giving anything really. The Way i liked to be loved is through words of affirmation and physical touch. I'm very forging, I like to make my own opinion on people, i'm the mom friends. I have a short temper when i'm stressed, i am very blunt, i'm not scared to speak my mind, of i like people i compare them to bugs or animals as they are my special intrests. If i had to describe my style it would be fairy grunge? Like long skirts, knitted sweaters (the soft kind not witchy cause few sensory issues), converses or sandales, golf jewlery i can also be dressed in full black, form fitting maxi dress with new rock or naked wolfe type of shoes. I love music, anything. And i mean it. Pop, alt, rock, metal, screamo, indie, country, rap. But mostly 2000s 2010s music for the nostalgia. My favorite s'ingère is Billie Eilish. I love doing crafts, i do crochet, i love reading books (dark romance/fantaisie/fiction) i'm a 'nerd', i love happy Potter, lord of the rings, the Hobbit, i love vampires, i love video games, such as animal crossing, SIMS unpacking, and cozy games but as the last of us, the walking dead, until dawn, the quart etc. I have a black cat. I'm a picky eater, potatos are my safe food though, i'm more of a sweet person than savory, brownies are my favorite desserts, I smell like vanilla. Roses and hydrangeas are my favorite flowers. I love trinkets, i collect pretty much any pretty thing i find, twigs, Shells, rocks, little lost things like beeds, crystals, sometimes little toys. I love plushies, i have a teddy bear and a white tiger. I'm a night owl. I love looking at the moon (i have a moon phase tattoo between my boobs. This one took some thinking but I’m gonna pair you with our sweet Theodore Nott. I know what you might be thinking but hear me out.

Theo is a little tall but he lovesss having short girlfriends. (even if you were 5’7 tho he’d still adore you). Theo likes that you’re all cute and little and he can just hug you and you fit so easily in his arms. (I have a tall bf yall and he tells me all the time how cute and “widdle” I am).

He also adores your figure and won’t accept anything else for an answer. His mother always taught him that the most important thing in a woman is a good heart. really though, he just loves thick thighs and likes having something to hold onto.

Theo thinks that it’s really hot that you can speak French. He helps you learn italian and you try and help teach him french but he struggles enough sometimes with english so that endeavor was quickly put on hold.

At first, the noises you make are very foreign to Theodore, but once he understands them and you, he comes to appreciate them as just a part of who you are and he loves you for it.

Growing up with his father, who used to hit him and his mother, Theo also has scars. He doesn’t like to talk about them but he will with you if you want him to. More than anything, Theo tries to comfort you. He knows what it’s like to have that sort of background and when people get angry, he knows that it comes from a place of care but also he realizes that he always finds it more helpful when people are just there for him rather than when they get angry. So that’s what he does for you.

Finally, Theo loves your tattoos and your style. He really has a thing for your long skirts he thinks they make you look very fairy like and ethereal. He’s not a night owl I wouldn’t say, but it’s very cute when he tries to stay up as late as possible with you. His eyes will get all droopy and his accent will get a little thicker. He will however, do really sweet romantic gestures for you that are very personal like creating or buying you a display case that you can put all the stuff you collect and he will listen to you talk about all of it for hours on end.

his special interests are time magic and norse mythology

he has terrible noise and light sensitivity issues but has a really poor sense of taste

he likes the school uniform because he doesn't have to pre-plan outfits for certain days which saves time

he thinks he's good at masking but he isn't. he just doesn't talk to people enough for that to be apparant

cannot use tone for the life of him. he tried for a while but ended up sounding really sarcastic, so he gave up because he didn't have the energy tbh

really hates crunchy foods because the crunchy sounds are the only thing he can hear when he eats them which pisses him off

likes puns and thinks they're hilarious

he is never not cold. it could be 30 degrees celsius and he'd feel lukewarm at best

hates red so much because its bright and bold and hurts his eyes. doesn't like lime green either, but is alright with emerald because it's darker.

his favourite colour is actually dusty blue (57697e to be specific)

doesn't mind thestrals but they freaked him out at first because nobody else seemed to see the scary horses that looked like death which read as a bad sign. then he found out why he could see them and calmed slightly

doesn't like caramel because it's sticky, but he does like buttercandy

studied insects in the manor gardens as a child. if he ever had to go to any playdates with other children from high-status families most of the time he'd wander off and go find bugs whevever he got bored. he liked to collect worms to feed to the big ants and beetles

is the type of person to point out when you use bug and insect interchangeably and get it wrong. hates that bugs is the colloquial term for insects

his first showing of magic was when he apparated at age five away from a gala because it was too crowded and ended up on the roof
