Who is your favorite ff author on Tumblr?!

Hii! Hmm u know, I haven’t read in a long while. And the sad thing is, many of the authors whose works I absolutely adore are no longer here or aren’t active anymore 🥺🥺 like jktones and @firebettercallnct (crack smaus, like, I literally can’t stop laughing) @jimlingss (amazing storytelling) @yeojaa (fun and deeply emotional).

People in their 60s and 70s can dream too, of course, but I often think that the world is especially cruel to the young. It’s often suggested that they’ve failed if they don’t start out on a particular path or continue along as expected. But as you live, you realise life doesn’t work that way. It would be good if children and youth didn’t blame themselves too much, because it’s not their fault.

And don’t compare yourself to other people either. There is absolutely no need for you to compare the size of your dream to someone else’s dream. You’d think I live with super grandiose dreams, but I’m not like that at all. I don’t have a dream right now either. Does that make me miserable? No, it doesn’t. Rather, I’m at peace. I’m sure another dream will come to me. My dream could be to become better at basketball, for example. I believe it’s a good, worthwhile life to achieve dreams like this, one by one.”

The eloquence used throughout the piece is just oh so beautiful, it can make you feel thousands of emotions simultaneously. For most people, at least.  For you, it’s the day you’d signed your life away.  A bit dramatic, perhaps, but true nonetheless.  It’s exactly one month from Christmas, the same day your father had brought you into his office and levelled you with that stare of his - firm, unrelenting, the kind of look that left no room for debate.

(“Just take care of it,”  he’d said, dismissive.  

“Why me?”  you’d shot back, exactly the petulant child he always claimed you to be.

He, more than anyone, should have known asking this of you was a recipe for trouble.  But in true fashion, in the maddening way that only fathers could master, he’d brushed you off.  Said something about taking one for the team before his assistant had shepherded you from the room.)

It bothers you even now, a week later, standing beneath the awning of the bus shelter, rolling luggage settled at your feet, down jacket pulled tight around your body.  It’s colder than you’d anticipated and only because you’ve been standing there for far longer than you’d been prepared for, ends of your fingers touched by the cold, tip of your nose suffering the same treatment.

Ah yes, for Idol AUs I actually panic every time I get an ask about this because it’s actually not part of my top 10 AUs (I listed my top AUs here). yeojaa's roseraie is a jungkook hanahaki and soulmate au, and one of my favourites ever. her take on the trope is just so interesting and thoughtful, a girl may have cried reading this. the relationship between jungkook and the reader is painful but so beautifully written, erin's stories always take me to a different world

It’s what has you here now, bumbling your way into the tattoo shop like a newborn baby bird.  

You wonder how it must look, whether the shop assistant is used to this.  Random girl shows up on a Sunday afternoon looking like a fish out of water, eager yet afraid.  By how she greets you - with a curious stare and not quite a smile - you’re sure she is.  

“Do you take walk-ins?”

You’d meant to make an appointment.  Had sat for hours on the shop’s Instagram page, combing through the residents’ portfolios, trying to decide who to reach out to.  When you’d finally decided, you’d realised books were a thing and most of them were closed.  (Just your luck.)

Still, it never hurt to try, right?

🌷 Hi there, anonie! I actually read variety of tropes/AUs but I have limited exposure to the ff.: idolverse (I find it too close for comfort), hogwarts (probably just read four or five fics), not much poly fics yet.

viola is one of the most creative writers on this site. she weaves a hypnotic tale of birthright and claim in this story that makes you not want to put it down until the very last word.

this characterization of yoongi absolutely makes my knees weak. the tsundere vibes but at the same time hiding the softness beneath. this story is so creative and wild but then it gets so incredibly hot. truly a fantastic read.
