Exploring the Essence of Australian Values
Australia, a land down under with a rich tapestry of cultures, is often defined by its unique set of values. At the core lies a spirit of mateship, resilience, and a commitment to a fair go for all. Australians value inclusivity, diversity, and a laid-back approach to life.
Mateship, a term deeply embedded in the Australian ethos, reflects the importance of camaraderie and support for one another. Whether facing challenges or celebrating victories, Australians stand by their mates, fostering a strong sense of community.
Resilience is another cornerstone of Australian values. From overcoming natural disasters to navigating economic uncertainties, Australians embrace a tenacious spirit. The ability to bounce back from adversity and adapt to changing circumstances is woven into the national character.
The fair go principle encapsulates the belief that everyone deserves an equal opportunity in life. Australians take pride in a society that strives for social justice and equal access to education, employment, and healthcare. This commitment to fairness shapes the nation's policies and cultural mindset.
Inclusivity and diversity are celebrated, reflecting the multicultural makeup of Australia. Embracing a variety of backgrounds, traditions, and perspectives, Australians value the enrichment that diversity brings to their society. This acceptance fosters a harmonious coexistence that defines the Australian experience.
Australians are renowned for their laid-back and easygoing nature. This cultural aspect is reflected in the famous "no worries" attitude, encouraging a relaxed approach to life's challenges. It's about enjoying the journey and finding a healthy balance between work and leisure.
In essence, Australian values are a unique blend of mateship, resilience, a fair go for all, inclusivity, diversity, and a laid-back attitude. These values not only shape the national identity but also contribute to a society that cherishes unity, compassion, and a sense of belonging.

The internet is savaging the rhetoric of 'Australian values,' whatever those are
Ask someone Down Under what "Australian values" are, and you're likely to get a bit of umming and ahhing.
Being a land full of people from around the world and a complex and rich Indigenous history, it's not a question that has a clear answer. Even the country's Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull couldn't pinpoint what exactly "Australian values" are on Wednesday, saying they're something for "public consultation."
But that hasn't stopped him from quizzing would-be migrants on them. And it certainly hasn't stopped Twitter from exposing the ridiculouslness of the concept.
SEE ALSO: It's official: Amazon is hitting Australia and local competition is probably screwed
The Australian government is introducing a tougher new citizenship test that will focus on the elusive "Australian values" in questions — values that no one can really list but far right nationalists love vaguely alluding to.
Wow. Malcolm Turnbull asked to summarise what 'Australian values' are. Doesn't answer, says it will go out for public consultation...

The new citizenship test also includes a more difficult English language component, and if migrants fail the test three times then they'll need to wait three years before being allowed to sit it again.
The news has left the internet scratching their heads on these so-called "Australian values," but being eternally honest and p*ss-taking, the good people of Twitter have some ideas. And like Australia itself, they're not always pretty.

One of the greatest challenges for any type of land value taxation system is to accurately value the land on a large scale. In the city areas where all sales for the estate data represents the improvement in the sector represent the transferring for the land with improvements, it is very difficult to divide the price between land and building components. Many people have concluded that the practical problems of land assessment prevent the realization of the many theoretical benefits that it has to offer.
