Well…

it’s been a long time coming, but i’m back in the saddle!

i know i haven’t been super active on here as much, nursing school is a thing, and i want to give yall a little update!

so for now, i am putting As I Am on hold. i know, i know, but i dont have the time to write it and create the best possible story for you all. However, i will be opening my requests this thursday for the whole weekend!! I will be posting an updated “Who I Write For” list and yall can go ham with the requests!!

Auston Matthews x Reader/OC (Pt. 1)

Katelyn was part of the media. Her job was to interview the hockey players and leave and go write an article and really nothing else. She loved hockey and she loved every player really equally. She’s been with the Leafs since she got the job 

She didn’t intend in falling in love. 

After the practice, they went up to do media. She asked basic questions with the players. She had a preference with working with Auston Matthews. Today she had an idea. A very risky idea with a very bold question. Those two never went well in a job setting. That didn’t stop her though. They flirted in most situations and being in an interview was where the two enjoyed walking the tight rope between friendship and open, plane, not admitting that the two actually were very public and in denial about themselves. 

The only reason she could get away with this type of questions was because it was Valentines Day. Seemingly all media women flirted with their male counterparts in some sort of way and it just ended with a laugh and most people went on with life. 

“Auston!” She shouted and the other voices started to gradually stop speaking besides the occasional mutter.

“Yes?”

“So… are you doing anything with someone for Valentine’s day?”

“Uh, no, not really, Kate.”

“Well I can promise I’m good for more than just a one-timer.” 

She sent a wink flying his way and most everyone in the room. Though that was an embarrassing statement, she definitely basked in the fact she made Auston smile, and maybe blush. Either way, he definitely stared at her the rest of the time she was there.

A Big Deal – Kasperi Kapanen

“Why are you making such a big deal about this?” You fell back on the bed as Kasperi nervously tried to pick out shoes, “I’ve met your teammates before.”

“Yeah, but not as my girlfriend.”

You let out a loud groan, “I don’t really see the difference, I’m still the same person.”

“But I’m not,” Kasperi moved between your legs, looking up at you with too sincere eyes.

You made a gagging noise in response.

“Let’s just get this over with,” you grabbed a jean jacket and made your way out of the apartment.

Once you arrived at the bar you beelined to get a drink, praising Canada and its lower drinking age. Kappy was close behind you.

“You’re stalling…”

“I’m thirsty…” the bartender slid the drink to you, “You can put that on the Matthews tab. You want anything babe? Auston’s paying.”

He shook his head.

“What? It’s a great way for me to find out if he’s here and get a free drink.” You started walk towards the table overflowing with men.

“Have you ever paid for a drink?”

“No, and I never plan to.”

Once you made it to the head the table, a few guys began to make room for you two, but Kappy held you back. Wrapping an arm around your waist.

“Hey guys, I’d like to introduce you guys to my girlfriend, Y/N.”

The guys stared blankly for second before Mitch spoke up, “Hi Y/N we’ve heard so much about you.”

“And what’s your name? Kap doesn’t talk about you guys.”

The guys began to laugh and you took a seat between Willy and your boyfriend.

The conversation shifted back to a normal pace, the only difference from a usually night was Kap’s hand gently placed on your thigh. He gave you a gentle squeeze every once in a while when his hand froze and his grip tightened.

You were about to make a comment when you noticed the conversation go to a lull and the eyes around the table drift to somewhere behind you.

You looked up to see Auston standing behind you. You gave him a cheesy wide smile and reached up to give him an awkward hug while you sat.

“Hey big bro nice of you to join us.”

“I’ve been here,” he said shortly, “just talking to some fans.”

“I know, thank you for the drink.” You raised your glass.

He rolled his eyes and took his seat across the table, you immediately regretted the joke. You regretted showing up.

Your brother was surprised when you told him you were dating Kasperi, but he seemed to take it pretty well. But this was the first time you’d invaded his life as a significant other, not as his baby sister who got along with his friends. And he was bad at hiding his feelings.

You tried to ignore him, but you could feel how uncomfortable your boyfriend felt next to you. He had stopped touching you and even scooted away to prevent any accidentally touching even. Auston kept looking over, with some vague look that you couldn’t tell if it disapproving or disgusted or just confused.

It made sense, to your brother you were some virginal teenager who had never thought about a boy let alone had feelings for one. He hadn’t lived at home when you were in high school with a string of dumb boyfriends. So for your first boyfriend that he met to not only be his friend but his teammate must have been weird.

But he needed to get over it.

You leaned over to Kap, “Just relax, I’ll take care of this,” you gave him a peck on the lips and you could feel Auston’s eyes burning into you as the boys gave out some whoops.

“Hey Matthews, you owe me a rematch at pool.”

Your brother looked shocked at your call out, but got up and followed you to a table.

You took the first turn and broke, sinking a striped ball, “why are you being such an ass.”

“What?”

“You’re sulking in the corner like the girl you had a crush on told you your forehead was too big.”

“You have the same forehead,”

“You know what I mean, Aus,” you scratched the cue ball.

“They were my friends first.”

“What?!? Since when.” You said sarcastically as Auston sunk a ball.

“You move here and make friends with all my friends and that’s fine, I love you. I love having you around, you’re one of my best friends. Then all of a sudden you’re dating one of them, it’s just…you’re flaunting it in front of me. And I can’t get away from it cause these are my friends.” He missed as he angrily hit the ball.

“Flaunting it? We’re just here. It’s not like I threw him on the table and fucked him”

“Jesus, Y/N.”

“You slept with my best friend last summer.” You blurted as you sunk another ball.

“What?”

“You slept with Cassie. You never called her again. And you stupidly thought I wouldn’t find out.” You sunk another ball.

“I– uh– I didn’t know you knew that.”

“So I guess we should call it even?” You raised and eyebrow, “Eight ball, right corner pocket.” The ball rocketed right into the pocket.

You shoved the the stick into his chest, “We’re both adults, we both still love each other, so swallow your pride and get over this.”

You left a stunned Auston as you made back to the table sitting right on Kasperi’s lap.

“It’s taken care of.”
