Old Gods of Appalachia gives me the same vibes as listening to music by Lord Huron— it’s just the perfect blend of supernatural and folktales and being so deep in the woods it feels like the light can’t reach you anymore, and I am absolutely in love.

I'm not a big playlist maker but when I was making my adadt art I went to look on spotify for a playlist to listen to while drawing, and the only ones there were not the vibe. so I made my own!

Aurora's A Different Kind of Human (Step 2) has been my main fuel during writing lately. I struggle a lot with under-stimulation and dopamine and although music is main source, it's hard to find the write type for my mood of writing. I've tried agere playlists and made my own, even ambiance like rain and forest soundscapes, but I think I've finally found a solution! With The River playing quietly in the background, quiet enough to avoid distraction, I've been getting more done these past few days!

So I went to the Lolla Palooza for Aurora today and it was amazing. I was so happy. That woman is amazing, I love her. She's so cool and her music is so?? Alive??? Not many artists have that. It was so good and I loved every single bit of it

Honestly, I could've gotten shot right there and I wouldn't have cared. And I'm being serious

I was feeling like shit. My head hurt, my legs hurt, my foot hurt and I was tired as fuck because I didn't sleep well. But I didn't give a fuck because I was like I'm going to see Aurora! That makes me happy even if i'm miserable right now!

Since it was a Lolla Palooza, she wasn't the only person doing a concert there, so it was pretty short (one hour, and I arrived late) but we stayed there for the other artists too. And the music was so loud it made my ears hurt. I was overstimulated, about to cry and feeling even worse than before but I never (not even once) said that I wish I hadn't come. I was like “I want to leave” all the goddamn time but never “I wish I didn't come” because Aurora was there and she made all that shit worth it

Devotion to Freedom: A Straw Hat Playlist

If there's one thing the Straw Hat pirate crew knows, it's that there's no better place to achieve their dreams than by each other's side. Nothing would be the same without each of them and they all know it. This is about unity and knowing how to be free.

Hi I made a playlist for the Straw Hat crew and I've been working on it for the past couple of months because I think too deeply about music. This isn't the era of 8tracks playlists anymore (and there aren't even 8 songs on this one. only 7 tch), but I still thought I'd share it!

Below the cut are my thoughts on why I picked the songs that I did. So I hope if you listen to it, you also check that out and see the reasoning behind. Hopefully it makes sense and others can see it too lol

All is Dark--The Family Crest

A prologue. The introduction and the longing that all the crew keep within themselves for something else out there. They're all waiting for something, but not sure what. Have you ever felt like you were stuck in one place even while moving?

Where the Rivers Run--MJHanks, Mon Rovîa, Philip Bowen

So I'm headed to the coast Where the rivers run In search of Freedom

This one is something that I personally picture for Luffy as he sets out from Dawn. It's light-hearted and gives a lot to his love of adventure. Being excited to see what comes next as long as it means he's free. "I was counterfeit from the start / Turned real when you held me in your arms" is a line I think of when Luffy mentions that he wouldn't be able to do anything without the crew. He can't be a captain until someone calls him theirs after all.

Classic pirate song! The call of the sea; the call of your crew. Just shut up and join already! The Straw Hats call to adventure for each other. Leap into the unknown and don't give up on your dreams; they are real, and they are out there waiting for you to find them.

The World--The Family Crest

Hide your little love away Keep it from the light of day 'Cause all the things that he can do Love, here he cannot hurt you no more

Nami. Robin. Sanji. I think of these three specifically for this song, but it can be applied to all of them. This one is for when they want to protect each other even if that means dragging someone back. They are all the world to each other and to be without one is to be without and that is something not allowed on board the Sunny. It's affirmation and a reminder of the love they all share for one another.

This Could Be a Dream--AURORA

I know I should figure this out on my own But if you come back will you take me home?

This song is the inverse. The fear. The longing. Not knowing how to trust, but wanting to reach out anyways. It's Sanji leaving a note behind. Robin saying that her dream can't come true if she stays with the crew. Nami after Luffy's given her his hat, but still the breath before she asks for help. It doesn't feel real tangible and yet they all want so badly to be able to believe in everyone else.

Life After--Broods

I've been waiting for you Since the day you were born Thousands of years ago

The Sunny is home after all! Pure affection and celebration of one another and the freedom they find while on the ship. Welcoming each other back onto the ship alongside with any friends they meet along the way. The Straw Hats are each others homes in a way that no other place or person could be. It doesn't replace the homes where they all came from, but there's simply no other place they would rather be than by the side of their crew aboard the Sunny.

Heathens--AURORA (I know this song is about women. I'm sorry women for borrowing this song.)

Everything that the Straw Hat crew do, they do for Luffy. He is the representation of freedom after all. And so they take from him and they give back by fighting for him. Note the bridge and drop which is what I interpret as Gear 5 Luffy. It's a warning as much as it is a dedication. The Straw Hat crew are not afraid of how far they will go for their captain, nor are they afraid of how far he will go for his ideals.

AURORA’s music is so n-nice; her voice is so pretty, and I l-love the lyrics too!

“Queendom” is my f-favorite song in general; “All Is Soft Inside” and “Runaway” are really g-good too!

I’m l-listening to “Through The Eyes Of A Child” right now and it’s so p-peaceful; having a cat on our lap isn’t helping us n-not fall asleep, hehe!

I'm aware this has been talked about before but I sometimes feel like international fans(especially native English speakers) don't understand that not being able to fluently speak a language but understanding most (or everything) of what's been said/written is very common for bilingual people.

Also, your native tongue influences how you speak a new language a lot. All languages have their differences in terms of sounds, tones, grammar and that reflects in whatever your accent is like. Of course people can work on their accents if they want but I believe it should always be a personal choice. Like you literally cannot correctly pronounce my name in English without having to borrow a sound from another language. And that's on languages and being bilingual. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

And, if you're someone who judges/comments on someone's secondary language skills while yourself only knowing a single language, there's the door 🚪. Bye!
