"whats going on?" quinn asks as he sets his duffle bag down,

"i dont-" layla says eyes wide, "i think it started about tv and what they wanted to watch then it developed into this," quinn takes a deep breath before stepping into the living room,

"so does someone want to explain to me what is happening?" quinn asks voice hard and loud but not scary.

maeve, aurora, amelia and gabe stop turning towards there dad,

"DADDY!" gabe yells running towards quinn.

quinn sighs kneeling down to scoop gabe up,

"what is going on?" he asks again looking at amelia,

"well uh gabe was watching his show and maeve wanted barbie so she stole the remote and then gabe started crying, and aurora and amelia agreed but its gabes turn to pick the show, so it wasn't fair," quinn purses his lips before nodding,

"maeve you cannot have any more tv for the rest of the day. you cannot change the show when its gabes turn. amelia and aurora how about you go to mommy and daddy room and turn barbie on. maeve go sit on the steps for 5 minutes then you can color, and gabe we can turn your tv show back on, but only until mommy has dinner ready. rory and meels you too ok? only till dinner," both girls nod before running off.

quinn turns to layla,

"you've got the timer?" layla nods holding her arm out,

"come on maeve," the mother says softly to the five year old.

once layla's taken care of maeve, quinn turns to his only son smiling,

"so what were you watching?" the dad asks,

"cars!" gabe shouts. quinn chuckles shaking his head, realizing that, of course maeve stole the remote; gabe's watched cars maybe 15 times in the last month.

"alright cars it is,"

Squeezing her, Gabe pulled her with him as he dropped down onto the couch, holding on to her just a moment longer as he brushed his knuckles along her cheek. "Oh, sweet girl," he shook his head, never seeing her in such a state. Surprised more by her tone than her selection, he fought the urge to laugh as she quickly seemed to lose her bravado. Aurora was an adult, of legal drinking age, and Gabe wasn't her father. Who was he to deny her? "'Course it's okay, looks like you could use some of the hard stuff for a change." Pushing up to his feet, gave her a kind smile before disappearing into the kitchen, returning a few minutes later with two filled glasses. Figuring he should start her off slow he handed her a whiskey and Coke, maybe bettering the odds she might want another, while his was straight up. "Okay, baby, have some of that then you can tell me what's going on."

She allowed him to lead her inside despite the stony expression of doubt on her face. He'd never given her any reason not to trust him, but until half an hour ago, neither had her father. Even still she found herself leaning into Gabe's side, comforted by his warmth as he lead her to the couch. His offer for alcohol was probably a joke, and it would have been funny under any other circumstance — she didn't drink — but she thought of how upset her dad would be if he found out that was what she was off doing. "Whiskey." she demanded with a sniff. "Please." she added somewhat sheepishly, tucking her hair behind her ear. "If that's okay." she tacked on a moment later, that ingrained desperation for approval rearing it's ugly head. It just wasn't her father's she was looking for anymore.

Sa visual novel na Dawn Chorus, ikaw ang protag na sumali sa isang 5-araw na college science camp na naka-istasyon sa Norway, sa itaas ng Arctic Circle. Masisiyahan ka sa malalawak na tanawin habang nakikinig din sa mga ekstrakurikular na lektura. Overwatch headcanons?

Morrison signed off on a few things secretly and was aware of the true intentions of some projects such as that Echo was an attempt to recreate Aurora which with the new laws on the creation of AI had been outlawed

It was not discovered until after Overwatch’s shut down the Mina Liao had several experiments where she tried to recreate Aurora

The things he signed off on and knew about were things he optimistically hoped would do better for the world, not caring about the laws he was breaking could result in Overwatch being shut down. I’m not saying what he did was bad, but he went about things the wrong way that put a lot of people in unnecessary danger

The reason what Doomfist had said to Reyes had affected him so much is because he at the time had already begun to uncover several conspiracies within Overwatch, starting with the fact that the Slipstream had been sabotaged. With some of the few within Blackwatch that he could trust as well as some outside forces he began a secret investigation to uncover the corruption and plots against Overwatch, all the while fighting off outside attempts at the organization

But the investigation would take a stark turn when he discovered the secret things Jack had signed off on

The main thing here is that Jack was doing secret things that none of his second in command or third in command knew about, and that made it easier for people forging his signature on things to hide amongst the stuff he was already doing

This was discovered after Reyes’ talk with Doomfist, and it’s why he hired Talon to help him fight Jack. Because if the Strike Commander, someone that Gabriel considered one of his closest friends and a confidant, who he had trusted, was corrupt then he didn’t know who to trust within Overwatch or even Blackwatch.

The explosion of the Swiss HQ happening on the same day as Jack and Gabriel’s fight was a happy coincidence for the people who had been conspiring against Overwatch in the shadows

And it’s why Gabriel started working for Talon, because despite everything that they’re honest about their intentions with everything and what they wanted him to do. Unfortunately for him the explosion did cause damage to his brain that even without Moira attempting to save him messed up his memories. Some of the people he had uncovered were forgotten or replaced with innocent Overwatch agents

This investigation was catalogued within several capsules that Gabriel had hidden around a few locations that emit a unique frequency that can only be picked up by one thing, it’s the same frequency that Winston created when launching himself to Earth in case he missed the landing in any way and needed to get picked up. Due to its unique frequency it’s never been used again and the new technology that has been invented since Winston’s arrival has made the frequency next to impossible to pick up with modern tech, which was Gabe’s plan in the first place

The capsules are still there, untouched, holding truths that if the new Overwatch don’t discover soon they’ll fall into the same trap that the old Overwatch did

THE GUILD (DEMON HUNTER AU)

so, i’ve mentioned the guild in overviews of this au, and in character introductions, but i haven’t actually explained who they are yet. so here it is! under a cut because it got long.

the guild started first as magical kingdoms allied with beast, to try to fix his mistakes and rebalance magic. when he began turning on all magic users, they split off for him and began directly fighting him. they ended up losing, and a lot of their armies were either killed, or sent to the isle where most soon died anyway. the monarchs were allowed to remain on the throne so long as they allowed heavy king’s guard presence, and sent at least one kid to be a soldier. they are fully blocked from auradon politics. basically, they’re occupied countries and their kids are political prisoners.

now, well after the war, the guild operates as an underground network. they work on protecting magic users (human or otherwise) from the guard, smuggling supplies to places merchants don’t really go, and figuring out how to yknow, fix gaps between worlds, which is the entire reason the shadow court exists.

they have a very loose hierarchy, with the only clearly defined positions being the council and those in the coalition of the arcane. the council is made up of the leaders of member countries, and are generally in charge of members from their own countries. they make sure disputes between countries are handled smoothly, and punish any rule breakers. the coalition will get their own post, but basically they’re a group of spies who attend the prep and therefore have access to information they wouldn’t otherwise. outside of that, the hierarchy is based on age and experience.

notable rules include:

- no one under 15 is eligible to fight, though they can assist family members in non-combat missions

- don’t mess with magic you don’t understand

- respect the dead. don’t do necromancy.

- never use magic to control others

- punishments can range from exile from the guild (with that person either having memories erased or enchanted to not be able to speak about the guild) or being killed. they don’t like doing either, but at the end of the day it’s our lives or yours.

- additionally, everyone must swear a magical oath that alerts the council to betrayals. there’s no consequences otherwise.

aaaaand last but not least: total member nations and individual members!

member nations: avalor, agrabah, the moorlands, tirulia, corona, and arendelle. during the war, kumandra, prydain, and logres (camelot) were members, but now kumandra is isolated and prydain and logres have their own issues.

the council is made up of queen elena castillo flores (overall leader), phoebus de chateaupers, queen aurora, sultana jasmine, queen ariel, queen rapunzel, and queen anna.

notable members include: naomi turner, gabe nunez, mateo de alva, the genie, lance strongbow, kiera schnitz, catalina schnitz, adira, the spouses of the council, and of course the coalition, as well as a few other ocs. they’re painfully small, but when combined with the isle, they’re a force to be feared.

I've been reading some old Overwatch materials and it seems pretty clear that Anubis causing the crisis and Aurora making all omnics sentient are fairly newer concepts in the lore, given how they're not mentioned when they probably should

Among other things, this retcons Zenyatta's age, being previously listed at 20, he's now at least 27 (same with all sentient omnics), most likely older as he's states that he was built before the crisis, making him at least 30

This makes me wonder what else is on the table for being retconned, and the first thing that comes to my mind is the deterioration of the relationship between Jack and Gabe. The lore has been pretty wishy washy about how deteriorated their relationship was and why, but the fact that it was bad at least at the end is pretty consistent

Which brings us to the Swiss HQ explosion. This is a super important event, but all descriptions of it are rather vague about what actually happened. The most descriptive telling of it says that the explosion was caused by a literal battle between Jack and Gabe. i don't know about you but i want more details about that, what caused the fight, were they literally shooting at each other and how that turned into leveling a whole building

I'm particularly excited for the Overwatch: Declassified book coming out in November, I'm hoping it'll answer some of my questions

WHAT COUNTS AS AN NPC?: Anyone who doesn't have a puzzle animation. Characters excluded are Layton, Luke, Flora, Clive, Emmy, Randall, Aurora, Des, Espella, Phoenix, Maya, Katrielle, Ernest, Sherl, Hastings, and Emiliana.

Which includes their Japanese names and as many names in the localizations as I am able to obtain from the wiki and my own sources.
