Imagine Quinn coming home at night in the summer to like Nora and Luke or Jack and they’re swimming in the pool

quinn looks out the sliding door smiling at his brothers and daughter splashing at the pool.

seemingly feeling his eyes on her nora turns towards him face lighting up,

"DADDY!" she yells flailing her arms. quinn chuckles pulling the door open a huge smile on his face,

"hi bug!" he exclaims watching her carefully as she climbs out of the pool. nora then runs over to her dad jumping onto him,

"missed you!"

Ellen just sticks her in the bath and has Jim watch her so she can shower herself

quinn gets back and is immediately grabbing Nora from the bath, he feels so bad he left her for the bar

"hi baby," quinn whispers as he scoops her up in her ducky towel,

"daddy," nora mumbles, "so icky,"

"shhh," the dad hushes, "i know its ok. youre all clean now and daddys home,"

The amount of times Quinn has left the boys to go home to Nora because he just can’t get her out of his head and can’t feel comfortable or enjoy himself until he sees that she’s ok with his own two eyes hand on her chest watching her sleeping face murmur with her dreams is unimaginable

This time, like always, despite her probably being fine before he left he’s just constantly saying he might just pop back home and see her or isn’t drinking just in case she needs him and the boys are replying every 10 seconds with ‘she’s literally fine, mom will call if she’s not’ and so he does loosen slightly and almost immediately gets the Nora threw up call and he’s just rattled that he didn’t listen to his gut even though every other time he’s acted on it she’s genuinely perfectly fine

someone else going to put nora to bed during the summer but she just wants daddy

maybe it’s like ellen because quinns at the fire with his friends but he can hear her cries from inside so he goes and he’s like mom it’s fine i can do it

quinn frowns at the screams drifting into his ears from his daughters open window,

"q don't," jack whispers from his spot beside his older brother, "mom will calm her down," the dad bites his lip eyes flicking back towards the house.

he sits for a minute longer before a long drown out,

"DADDY!" makes him push himself out of his chair,

"nope shes been going for 10 minutes, she won't stop," he says before he turns away from the bonfire and heads into the house.

the walk to his daughters room is familiar. once he arrives he pushes her door open finding his mom fighting with nora who is still in her bathtime towel,

"i got it ma," he says as nora lets out a sob at the sight of her dad,

"daddy!" she cries,

"oh quinn all your friends they-" quinn shakes his head,

"they can wait," he assures as he steps into the room and reaches down to pick his crying daughter up, "it appears were having a rough night, let me put her down," ellen sighs pushing herself up from her croaching position,

"ok," the grandma says voice soft, "ill see you in the morning nora," she then leans over and kisses noras temple.

soon ellen's left the room, the door clicking shut behind her,

"you're just over tired aren't you?" quinn asks nora rubbing a hand up and down her back, "had a long day in the sun hm?" he continues, "just wanted dada to put you to bed,"

The first time this happened Jack didn’t realize she was in timeout. He just saw her crying on the steps and picked her up to comfort her before finding Quinn who quickly shut that down and put her back on the steps by herself

"oh no way," quinn says grabbing his daughter from jack, "back to the steps we go, and you have to start over,"

"hey!" jack exclaims over noras crying,

"jack she was in timeout you cannot just take her out,"

jack and luke calling quinn to facetime because they miss nora

"wheres nora?" jack asks as soon as quinns facetime connects,

"shes napp-" but quinn doesnt finish before the facetime ends and a text pops up,

Mack pulling pranks with Nora (mostly mack sets them up and then he tells nora to watch) and as much as quinn hates it he loves to hear the two of the giggle

"daddy gum?" she asks holding out the trick pack of gum, mack had ordered for them to trick others with,

"where did you get that?" quinn asks bending down to grab the pack from his daughter, "you aren't allowed to chew gum," nora frowns,

"take piece!" she insists, "from mack!" quinns eyes narrow as he reaches to grab the piece,

"OW!" he flinches shaking his hand out, "where did you get that?" nora giggles,

"gotchu!" she yells as she runs away and into the living room, "mackie i did it! i got daddy!"

one quinn has her calmed down sitting with him watching a show and drinking her juice she’s like” uncle jacky yelled at me”

"uncle jacky loud," she points out,

"i know baby," the dad whispers, "it wont happen again, i promise," then they both fall asleep for a nap

"what is she wearing?" trevor asks as quinn and hora make there way down the dock. nora holding tightly to her dads hand,

"a swim suit," quinn says as nora beams,

"i picked it out at target trevvy do you like it?" trevor scowls,

"no where are all your clothes?" jack pops up staring at his niece,

"yah quinn," the middle child says, "where are her clothes?" quinn rolls his eyes as he scoops nora up and deposits her on the boat,

"if that is what she wants to wear than that's what shes wearing," quinn says matter a factly.

"if shes wearing what?" luke asks as he comes running with the wakeboard under his arm,

"A BIKINI!" trevor and jack exclaim as luke looks at his niece, eyes narrowing at nora,

"a bikini?" he asks as he turns to quinn,

"she picked it out," the eldest says with a shrug, "what was i supposed to do?" luke narrows his eyes before he shrugs,

"i mean its not like shes surrounded by toddlers," the youngest hughes points out, "its just us, and she does look cute so,"

Nora when everyone arrives for Christmas!!

"NORA ST-!" quinn tries as nora takes off through the baggage claim,

"UNCLE JACKY UNCLE LUKEY!" she yells ignoring her dad as she runs into a bent down luke's arms,

"buggaboo!" luke exclaims squeezing her tight,

"hi lu," nora whispers squeezing her youngest uncle back, "missed you," luke presses a kiss to her temple and pulls away,

"i missed you too nor," jack cuts in a hand on his hip,

"uncle jacky!" she repeats launching into his legs,

"hi bug," the middle brother says scooping his niece up, "missed ya," nora beams at jack,

"you score uncle jacky!" she exclaims. jack chuckles nodding,

"i did didn't i,"

I feel like you’ve talked about it but I can’t remember. How mad does Quinn get at his brothers when he realizes it’s because they sneaked her snacks that it’s affecting her sugar levels? And what is the boys (Jack and Luke) “oh shit” moment where they realize this is serious and although they didn’t mean to a snack when not counted for carbs can make their niece feel sick?

I say he gets more “I’m not mad but dissapointed,”

“Daddy?” Nora calls from her spot on the passenger seat on the boat,

“Yah honey?”

“I don’t feel good,” the ten year old pouts, “my head hurts,” Quinn slows the boat to a stop and reaches to grab her,

“Oh honey do you think your numbers are messed up?” He asked. Nora nods leaning into her dad,

“Uncle Jack gave me chips,” Quinn sighs running a hand through his hair,

“Well he didn’t tell me that,” the eldest says pointedly to his middle brother who’s eyes widen,

“Shit I didn’t…” Jack explains, “I forgot,” Quinn turns his attention back to the boat starting it up again,

“This is something you can’t forget about Jack. She could get really sick,”

Jack in pain at the lake house and frustrated with his recovery and gets annoyed by Nora but instantly feels bad when she bursts into tears

"PLEASE UNCLE JACKY!" nora yells, "I WANT TO PLAY!"

"DAMMIT NORA!" jack snaps, "I CAN'T DEAL WITH YOU OK! IM HURT I CAN'T PLAY! I CANT DO FUCKING ANYTHING!" nora flinches moving back from her uncle as she begins to cry hard,

"what the HELL is going on in here?" quinn asks as he runs into the room, scooping his crying daughter into his arms,

"SHES FUCKING ANNOYING ME!" jack yells, "SHE DOESNT GET IT!" quinn puts a hand on noras head as she cries into the crook of his neck,

"dont yell at my daughter because you're in pain jack rowden," quinn hisses, "she is 3 fucking years old and doesn't get it jack. that's how it works,"

ooh maybe nora gets a major injury in college, and its at a time where quinn isn't around either

think of steven stamkos' leg injury takes place in 2041; quinn is 42, nora is 20. quinn is retired but layla still works with the canucks and quinn does front office work while being more of a stay at home dad with amelia (11), aurora (9), maeve(8) and gabe (6)

it happened fast. nora was crashing the net trying to stop the bu forward from scoring a goal, but instead she went straight into the unforgiving post.

"FUCK!" she screams immediately rolling to grab her right leg as pain shoots up her leg,

"shit shit shit," quinner, her goalie, yells, "GET THE TRAINER!"

nora is now sobbing as her teammates scream for the trainer as she wriths,

"it cracked! i heard it!" brooks her d-partner screams,

"ok ok," the head trainer says as he runs to the hughes' side, "clear out of the way guys i got it,"

quinn and layla were at maeve's hockey game watching nora's game on there laptop when it happens,

"oh shit," layla gasps,

"bad word mommy!" gabe screams,

"shhh," layla hushes sharply,

"i need-" quinn looks at his wife alarmed, "my mom shes gotta," layla nods,

"yah. ill book us a flight too, maybe kylee or maggie could try to get out there too," quinn nods,

"yah good ok im going-" layla nods,

"go, go,"

quinn never lets anyone to bedtime with nora expect elias because they use to live together when nora was born so if there is anyone quinn trusts the most with his daughter is elias and when elias and brock comes to lake house elias does bedtime with nora and everyone is like WHAT!

"you good giving her a bath?" quinn asks as he passes nora to elias,

"HE GETS TO GIVE HER A BATH?" luke yells,

"YAH WHAT THE HELL QUINN?" jack joins in as he comes running into the room,

"elias has been giving her baths since she was 6 months old," quinn says to his brothers, "and for about 2 months he was the only reason why she slept, so he can give her as many baths as much as he and nora want,"

jack and lukes faces both turn into pouts as nora leans into elias,

"petey bath,"

"go ahead," quinn says as he leans to kiss noras temple, "ill come say goodnight when you're done, ok?"

"mhm," nora hums as petey turns and walks up the stairs,

"this is ludicrous," jack mumbles,

"you don't even know what that means," quinn says as he walks past his brothers and into the kitchen.

as much as Nora loves her family and her uncles at the lake house. Sometimes she just wants her daddy and 101 time with no one else around. Like at home in Vancouver where they can play just them or cuddle up and watch a movie. But because Nora is so little and still learning to communicate she kind of has a tantrum trying to explain that she just wants her daddy and no one else around for a bit.

"NO!" nora yells pushing luke away from quinn,

"nora wren," quinn snaps, "you do not push," the father chastises,

"NO!" the three year old yells again tears beginning to stream down her face as it turns red,

"nora," quinn coos softly, "honey what's going on?"

"DADDY!" nora cries throwing herself into quinns chest, sniffling as she sobs,

"ok ok," quinn soothes moving to stand as he gently rubs his daughters back, "maybe its time for us to a nap," nora clutch strengthens around him,

"no leave," quinn pulls back so that he can look at his daughter's teary face,

"honey you're tired you have to go to bed in your room," nora's eyes fill with tears as she shakes her head adamant,

"no." she says, "no go," quinn sighs brushing his hand through her hair,

"do you want to nap with my on the coach?" quinn asks,

"no room daddy," nora says. quinn bites his lip,

"ok hon. we can nap in my bed, maybe watch a movie?" nora smiles nodding,

"please daddy," she pleads. quinn kisses her forehead gently,

"ok hon,"
