Do you have a favorite kind of blue? I do, and I'm VERY PARTICULAR about them, I wonder if anyone else has the same sickness. Or any color really--like you don't really like most of it but ONE kind just does it for you?

Ohhhh I do! I love midnight blue and any blue that is so dark it's almost black.

Though for the most part I absolutely adore any/all jewel tones and have become very fond of the color rust and ochre. Oxblood red will always have a place in my heart though.

As a goth though my favorite color is black.

Yes, but also I just want to point out that there's nothing wrong with "Affirmative Action", since the term's been vilified in US political discussion for decades and the actual text behind it is very rarely mentioned.

I'm taking quotes here from Wikipedia's Executive Order 11246 page, but know that it takes "affirmative action" as a phrase from previous Executive Orders going back to Franklin Roosevelt attempting to accomplish the same thing(Here's The Actual Text. I'd've quoted from IT but it's formatted weird and doesn't transfer well to tumblr. Brackets are my own edits, done for clarity):

federal contractors and federally assisted construction contractors and subcontractors, who do over $10,000 in Government business in one year [are prohibited] from discriminating in employment decisions on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin

[contractors are required to] take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race, color, religion, sex or national origin.

The Order then extends this to student-recruitment, sub-contractors, relevant unions, etc etc etc. All Affirmative Action does is 1)prevent institutions from discriminating against people, and 2)require them to Set and Follow clear policies for preventing future discrimination. That's it.

So all being "an affirmative action student" could possibly mean is that you were recruited by a school which had taken steps to ensure someone of your race, color, religion, sex, or national origins was not discriminated against in the application process. That's it! The conservative narrative on this of favoritism for historically oppressed people is and has always been Bullshit. All Affirmative Action has ever been, has been a policy for preventing discrimination in systems with a clear history of discrimination, and Republicans oppose that because they WANT discrimination in these systems.

Nothing to be a ashamed of in "benefiting"(ie being treated neutrally because of) Affirmative Action; everything Shameful about opposing it.

One thing I really appreciate about OFMD is that yes I could go on and on how gorgeous everyone is but nobody actually looks like a perfectly sculpted beauty.

They have forehead wrinkles and crows feet at the edge of their eyes and smiles. Their hair is messy, the muscle guys have tummies and not rock hard abs, no one is made to have the same jaw and waistline.

Everyone looks like they actually live rough lives but more importantly they look human and thats so very sexy of them.

Snowy’s Spooky Life: The Lost Angelite Incident and How It Came Back

So after talking to @augustdementhe and a few other people a long time ago about the weird (and possible paranormal) things that have happened to me, I thought it might be a good idea to write some down and post them! This is one of the more lowkey stories that I have, but I still have no explanations for it. I hope you like it!

So I'm think that this story is a good one to lead with because it's just one of those events in my life that's just really fucking Weird. It's not scary or anything, but it is one of the oddest stories I have and it happened when I was older (I want to say I was 16 or 17, but I'm leaning towards 17).

To set the stage: I have 2 little pieces of angelite and one I got as a replacement for the other (the original is circled in red in the pic for everyone's convenience) and they look different from the other blue stones I have. High school was a rough time for me, so I was using whatever witchy or mundane thing I could to cope (which usually looked like me carrying about a half-pound of rocks in my bag for fidgets and worry rocks). By the time this happened, I was used to something that wasn't me/my parents moving some of my things and had had a lot of other weird things pop up, so I wasn't easily spooked by weird/unexplainable things happening. Lastly, my high school had about a quarter of our teachers teaching out of trailers due to student population size, and each teacher had been in their individual trailers either since they started at the school or when the trailers had been placed around 15 years prior (ah the wonders of the American public school system).

So on the fateful day in question I bring my angelite with some other rocks to school. I had been fiddling with the angelite throughout the day, and by the time I lost it I had known where I dropped it. I was in my favorite teacher's trailer and I had been taking classes with him for a few years by then and at that point I knew that his trailer was where lost things went to disappear for good. So I had been fiddling with it, put it in my hoodie pocket, and as I'm leaving I realize it is not there and I barely have enough time to run back, look for it, not find it, and get to my next class. It is gone, and I'm probably never going to get it back. I'm bummed out, but I go home on the bus and get the replacement within a week because that classroom is a black hole of lost things never to be recovered and it has firmly crossed the event horizon.

Cut to about a week or a week-and-a-half later, I have the other piece of angelite (pictured above, and at the time chilling on one of my altars) and have just run back into my room to do a quick once-over and grab something before leaving to catch my bus to school. And while glancing over my bed what do I see? My missing angelite is chilling on my bed. I don't have time to freak out about the-rock-that-is-in-my-room-and-shouldn't-be because school, so I just chalk it up to Something coming in clutch for me and quietly say thank you for returning it, grab the newly-returned angelite, and leave for school. Later I asked my parents if they knew anything about it or had found it and put it in my room (they had no idea what I was talking about) and, lacking any other real option and not seeing anything harmful coming from keeping it, I carry on as normal and both pieces have been with me for going on 5 years. I still don't really have an explanation for it though...
