Hello everyone! I guess it’s time to make a proper introduction, huh? My name is Audrey Diamons, and welcome to my blog! I’m going to post my art here. I like to paint a lot of nature as a protest against the current fake tree movement. Blehhh!! I think nature is beautiful, and shouldn’t be replaced! (Please note I live in Thneedville, I’m not sure if other places are having this problem ^^;) This photo is me holding up my latest painting, I hope you can all enjoy this one as well as my future paintings to come. Aw thank you!! I try my best. I work for ThneedCo.’s protection and preservation of natural resources, and it’s the perfect excuse to walk around the edge of the valley and see the trees. It’s such a magical experience~

Thankfully, Mr. Onceler doesn’t use Tumblr so I can talk about it here! Shhh no one tell him ;) Sometimes during work I sneak off into the untouched lands to sketch and breathe some fresh air. It feels so nice, nothing like the stuffy city. I want to bring Ted out here some day.

you're so good at painting!! you must be well known throughout thneedville,, have you ever made a portrait of yourself? can we see it?

You’re so sweet! My neighbors seem to appreciate my murals, so I guess that might count as well known? Not sure haha!

I have tried to paint a self portrait, but since I mostly draw nature it was really hard and I got too frustrated to finish it! Maybe I’ll try again some day… people aren’t really what I’m interested in painting though..

About 6 years ago! When I was 9 or so my neighbor, Grammy Norma, got me a painting set for my birthday and I discovered my passion. Thank you Norma :)

What is your favorite color?

Thank you for asking! If I had to choose, probably yellow! It’s such a happy and vibrant color.

Your so cute! Please tell me how is your life at thneedville?

Why thank you! Life in Thneedville has been enjoyable, I love that there’s still trees around. Though, the decline has been a serious issue and it’s hard to breathe at times. My parents have been talking about leaving if it gets too bad… Let’s hope not! I really like my school here I’ve, made lots of friends I hope to hang out with over break. Including Ted who moved here just a bit ago.

I only bring Ted up though because he’s sick right now! He caught a cold so I’ve been checking in on him. His mom’s too busy with work to, and his grandma shouldn’t risk catching it too. I just felt too bad to leave him alone.

I just love after rain how the dew stick to the foliage. I got these little truffula saplings from work and I’ve been trying to keep them watered, seems like the sky will do that for me though. I can’t believe the talk of putting up fake trees, they just don’t have the same charm after a nice rain that a real tree has!

What's your go to type of paint?

I find acrylic paint is the most durable for my murals, since it can be outside and bonds to walls pretty good. So for that reason I use acrylic! I have explored other kinds of paint too which is always fun, but for me acrylic paint has been the most practical.

Have you ever seen a tree in person or are you going off photographs?

I try to see the trees as much as possible, but the smog is getting pretty bad. I still hike out there sometimes, though. Lucky for me I pretty much have the coolest job EVER! I'm a junior intern at Thneed Co. (I know right!)

The CEO is…a nature enthusiast...I think. He has all these journals of what the valley used to look like. I assist him in the office sometimes (I'm on the sustainability committee). Anyways, he gave me a few copies of his sketch pages of the trees and wildlife and stuff. It's pretty neat.

I wish it was easier to see the trees…the CEO says he's listening to our suggestions to make the valley better. I just hope it happens. Oh well!
