A Deep Dive Into Disney’s Most Underperforming Princess
Princess Aurora can’t even be described as controversial. To most, she’s simply boring, too passive, and a continuation of the bland cycle of white princesses who wait around for magic or a prince to save them. Although no one hates her, they find her irritating at the worst, uninteresting at best. In the fifties, they must have thought the same thing. Sleeping Beauty was a commercial failure, and led to company wide annual loss. Sleeping Beauty had followed several other financial flops, such as Bambi and Alice in Wonderland, the latter costing Disney around half a million dollars. Due to her lack of popularity, Aurora may be one of the most neglected Princesses. Many cling to her out of nostalgia, or because she has a nice design, and they find it hard to defend their love for the movie. But the movie’s turbulent history and the amount of detail that went into Aurora herself is what really makes her so incredibly fascinating.
Starting with her design, Disney hired Marc Davis as the supervising animator for Aurora. He also animated Maleficent. The intention was for them to be realistic enough to be placed against the heavily detailed backgrounds of the movie. Davis had embraced this artistic direction, while many of the animators found it, and especially Aurora, laborious and tiring to work on. Both Maleficent and Aurora had to be refined and dynamic. Davis was Disney’s go-to animator for ‘pretty girls’, examples being Tinkerbell and Alice. His knowledge of anatomy and the human body brought both Aurora and Cinderella to life, two of Disney’s most visually iconic characters. Davis had also incorporated Art Nouveau and Art Deco into Aurora’s design, while the tapestry-like art style of the movie was chosen by Eyvind Earle, who was inspired by pre-Renaissance European art. The score and songs were based on Tchaikovsky’s ballet.
Aurora alone required more effort and attention to detail than any princess before her. It took Walt Disney and his team three years to choose a voice actress. They nearly scrapped the project until they discovered Mary Costa, but Disney himself avoided interacting with her in person early on in the project, fearing that she’d influence his vision of the movie.
Aurora was loosely based on her voice actress. Her appearance and her habits (such as gesturing when speaking and singing) were both incorporated into Aurora’s animation. She was also drawn to resemble both her live action model, the same one as Cinderella’s, Helene Stanley, and actress Audrey Hepburn. Davis took inspiration from Audrey Hepburn’s slender physique and elegant demeanour.
In the book Multiculturalism and the Mouse: Race and Sex in Disney Entertainment, author Douglas Brode referred to Aurora as “a model of modern (50’s) female glamour” and compared her to Brigitte Bardot. He also compared her gown to the work of Christian Dior.
As a character, she was described by Nerve as being “the apex of women who made no choices for themselves.” Aurora is a member of the “Golden Era” of Disney heroines, the original Princess trifecta. Her dreams are the same as those before her. But it’s possible that Aurora’s dreams of true love derived from the need for companionship outside of her three fairy godmothers.
On their website, Disney describes her as, “graceful and kind. She knows that a wonderful future awaits, if you just have the courage to dream it. Aurora enjoys using her imagination and sharing stories with her forest friends. She is also loyal in her relationships -- to her animal friends, her fairies, and her kingdom. Aurora believes in a wish and remains hopeful that she will find the adventure she is looking for.”
Walt Disney himself described Aurora as being “a very layered character/different. She’s calm, yet playful. She has a sense of humour, and she has an imagination.” We can not argue that she was considered layered through the lens of the fifties, because many critics disliked all three of the original princesses for their passive personality, or lack thereof. But from the perspective of the team working on the show, they saw much more to her.
This was the film that Walt Disney worked his hardest on, it took ten years to complete. It was also the very last Princess film he was involved in. Her ‘layers’ were very much intentional. Disney tried to do the same thing with Cinderella.
With Cinderella, they attempted to make her less passive than Snow White, and they showed this through her rebelling against her abusive stepfamily. Maurice Rapf said, "My thinking was you can't have somebody who comes in and changes everything for you. It can't be delivered for you on a platter. You've got to earn it. So in my version, the Fairy Godmother said, 'It's okay till midnight but from then on it's up to you.' I made her earn it, and what she had to do to achieve it was to rebel against her stepmother and stepsisters, to stop being a slave in her own home. So I had a scene where they're ordering her around and she throws the stuff back at them. She revolts, so they lock her up in the attic. I don't think anyone took (my idea) very seriously."
The toned down version of Cinderella, although rebellious in her own way, is still toned down. That part of her character was written out. In comparison to what she would have been, she is passive. Aurora and Cinderella are both less passive than their predecessors, but passive nonetheless. All three of them are the staple damsels in distress.
However, Mary Costa described Aurora as “very strong”, citing her urge to defy her guardians as a display of independence and an example of her strength. Aurora was raised by three women, and had never met a man in her life. Costa believed that because of this, she was ‘innately romantic’ as opposed to lonely or depressed with her sheltered life. To quote, “there was a certain part of her that maybe she didn’t realise, that was just so romantic and maybe expecting something that–she didn’t even know what.”
She believed that her being raised by three older women rather than her parents made her “a little bit older, and yet, she…had this young, outreaching spirit.” Author Douglas Brode points out that the fairies’ independent raising of Aurora mirrors “precisely that sort of women’s commune numerous feminists experimented with throughout the seventies.” Aurora living in an isolated, female-only space, with female authority, is reminiscent of the bold and liberating radical feminist movement. In her own way, as a peasant, she was independent. And that independence and autonomy was taken from her upon discovering that she was royalty and betrothed to a prince. She was leaving her home and the presumed man of her dreams behind, and not of her own free will.
Aurora had enjoyed her simple life, it had fulfilled her, even if she desired more. She had dreams of finding romantic love, which she talks about in the movie’s song ‘I Wonder’. Additionally, her close relationship with animals demonstrates her loving and kind personality. She has a whimsical imagination, and it’s scenes like the ones from Disney’s Enchanted Tales series and ‘Once Upon a Dream’, that would support Costa’s claim of her being a romantic. Where she’s changing in and out of pretty gowns with a magical wand, and giggling to herself. Or dancing happily with the forest animals, thinking about her imaginary prince. In ‘Keys to the Kingdom’, she proudly sings about wishing to make decisions with her heart.
Her independence is demonstrated on multiple occasions in Disney’s discontinued Enchanted Tales: Follow Your Dreams. Aurora graciously accepts responsibility of her kingdom while both her and Philip’s parents travel away for a business trip. All on her own, she is determined to get all of her Princess duties finished on time, the hard way. She refuses to take the easy way out, time and time again, even when she doubts herself. She works harder than even her father, who would take the easy way out by signing royal documents without reading them. Even when Meriwether gives her a magic wand to help her out, she reads and fills out every royal form diligently, and helps out all of her subjects. She manages to complete her tasks on time and throw a banquet for her family and Philip by the time they return. The lesson here is to ‘stick to it’ and to ‘persevere’. But her insistence on doing everything on her own is shown once again in A Kingdom of Kindness, where she must plan a surprise party for Philip. The three fairies attempt to help her, but she continues to tell them that she wants to do it on her own. This series was cancelled, and it is difficult to find any clips of it online. But this short-series gives us some insight into Aurora’s character.
She is assumed to be the protagonist by most, but many consider the three fairies to be the protagonists. They help move the story along, they protect Aurora, and they have distinct, in-your-face personalities. Many consider Aurora authentic, or the title character, but whether she is the protagonist or not has never been agreed upon. Her lack of role in the story has been criticized by many. But some take it as an allegory for the lack of control
The most lengthy debate surrounding Aurora has to do with how feminist her character is. She may have been an improvement from the previous princesses, but she is not regarded as a particularly feminist character.
The three original princesses, all being pale-skinned European princesses with a naive and endlessly forgiving (an unrealistic standard), sends a message to their viewers that this is what princesses should look like, how they should behave. All three classic princesses are deeply intertwined with Disney’s long history of racism and bigotry. In an attempt to amend this, Disney has released back to back live action remakes of their movies, all receiving mixed reviews. Maleficent was Sleeping Beauty’s remake, focused on a maternal relationship between Maleficent and Aurora. Many people interpreted the scene where Maleficent’s wings get cut off in her sleep as sexual assault. This inclusion made many survivors of sexual assault feel represented by the character.
From my perspective, the original Sleeping Beauty is technically a movie centred around women. A teenage girl lives with her three surrogate mothers, who end up saving her in the end from the female antagonist. Although Prince Philip’s role in the story is still a large part of what moves the plot along. It is Philip who is captured, as Maleficent knew that he would go looking for her. He courted Aurora, defeated Maleficent with the help of the three fairies, and kissed the princess awake. But he still doesn’t get as large of a role, or nearly as much screen time, as the three fairies.
In short, both the movie and the princess fascinate me. And although there is depth if you squint, a character does not need to be fleshed out to be lovable, or at least endearing. Aurora is my favourite Disney Princess, and I find the history behind her and the film to be more interesting than what meets the eye.

Any chance we could get an Audrey and JJ happy snippet?? If not it’s fine!! I love all the snippets of Rafe and Logan!! 👉🏼👈🏼
Yes!!! Here is the second scene to our fourth fic, the one that will pick up right after the events of season three and take us through season four.
18+ MDNI | language, references to sex, friends joking around. Some things have been deleted to avoid ITM spoilers. Plus, It’s a long one.
They found the rest of the Pogues sitting around the large round outdoor dining table that overlooked both the impressive pool and jacuzzi area, as well as the gorgeous clear ocean. It had been four months since the events in South America and while they were all attempting to figure out what life was going to look like with a shit ton of money, they had all managed to agree on a spectacular vacation before the real world set in.
“There they are,” Sarah Cameron greeted them with a huge smile, her mimosa poised in midair as the couple wandered over to the empty chairs, “we didn’t know if you’d make it or not.”
Cleo grinned playfully over her cup of coffee, “It was fifty-fifty on if you were puking or having sex.”
“And there goes my appetite,” John B dramatically pushed his eggs benedict away from him, the others laughing as he shook his head. Pulling the plate back towards him, he glanced over at his sister and best friend as they settled into the chairs. JJ had since pushed his sunglasses up onto the top of his head as he reached for the glass pitcher of ice water, however Audrey left hers on. “I’m guessing the champagne hit you pretty hard, sis?”
“Yeah,” at the sound of Audrey’s rough and cracked voice Pope Heyward and Sarah shared a laugh, Kiara Carrera reaching over to squeeze Audrey’s shoulder in sympathy. “Yeah, I don’t think I’ll be having champagne for a long while.”
“It was a $500 bottle of champagne,” Sarah giggled as Audrey winced, thanking JJ softly as he handed her a glass of water. “How does a $500 hangover feel?”
“Terrible,” Audrey sipped her water slowly, taking comfort in JJ’s arm as he tossed it around the back of her chair, “how are you all so…peppy?”
“Well, for starters, we didn’t drink an entire bottle by ourselves,” Pope shot her a pointed look and Audrey rolled her eyes, “and we’ve also been up for a few hours—the Advil started working.”
John B nodded, “Food will make you feel better, Aud. Promise.”
“Ugh,” Audrey made a face at him as JJ leaned over to press a soft kiss to her shoulder, “I’m not so sure about that.”
“Have you never been hungover before?” Cleo asked as she passed Audrey some toast while JJ started to fill his own plate.
“I don’t think a natty hangover is the same,” Audrey confessed as she nibbled on the toast, forcing her stomach to keep it down for the time being, “or at least, it doesn’t feel like it. Plus it’s been awhile.”
“She normally throws it up,” JJ happily accepted the coffee from John B, “before bed—you get it out of your system and it’s better to deal with it in the morning.”
“Fair,” Kiara nodded.
“Let’s change the subject,” Audrey settled into JJ’s arm, his fingers running up and down her arm comfortingly. “What’s everyone’s plan when we get back?”
“I’m only back for a week or so,” Kiara spoke first as she cut into her waffles, “and then I’m off to Florida for training before…Costa Rica, I think?”
“Gotta save the turtles.” Pope grinned as he took a bite of his food. “How long are you going to be gone?”
“Not sure,” Kiara shrugged, “a minimum of six months, I think? It’ll be good for us—I think I need some time to learn to forgive my parents and I think they need some time to forgive themselves.”
“How are they doing?”
“They’re ok,” Kiara glanced over at Audrey, “we’ve talked a lot and they’ve apologized and I’ve apologized. But the problem I’m having is if it would be different if we hadn’t found the gold, you know?”
“You mean if you didn’t have one million in your bank account right now?”
“Exactly.”
“Can I get you all anything else?” One of the servers wandered over to the table, her hands clasped behind her back.
“Could I get a ginger tea?” Audrey asked softly and the woman nodded before disappearing back into the house.
John B nudged some fruit onto his fork, “Alright Pope…Cleo?”
“I gotta get high school figured out,” Pope shrugged as he glanced out over the ocean, “tutoring, studying, figuring out where I left off and how I can get back to where I was. Apply to college, get some of this money into investments, that sort of thing.”
“Boring,” JJ coughed.
“I’m ok with boring,” Pope grinned, “I think the last nine months have been exciting enough, don’t you think?”
“I’ll drink to that,” Sarah lifted her drink to cheers with Cleo and John B, Audrey wincing at the champagne cocktail glittered against the sun, “Cleo?”
“Dunno,” Cleo shrugged, “I think I’m gonna open up a shop. See how life is in the OBX for a while.”
“That sounds really nice,” John B nodded, “what kind of shop?”
“Smoothie? Ice cream? Sandwiches?” Cleo shrugged, “I haven’t figured that one out yet. Gotta talk to the Heywards first.”
“What about you two,” Pope motioned between Sarah and John B with his fork. “What are you guys doing?”
“I’m working on buying the land the house sat on,” John B glanced over at his sister, wishing he could read her expression better with the sunglasses, “and I’m gonna build a house.”
“Chateau 2.0?” JJ lifted his eyebrows.
“Much nicer Chateau 2.0,” John B laughed, “but yeah—it won’t be all wood this time.”
“Sweet,” Kiara nodded happily, “that’s a great plan.”
John B watched Audrey lean further into JJ, his best friend allowing his sister to move closer against him. There hadn’t been a lot of time to watch the two be a normal couple in situations that also didn’t involve life changing or life threatening events—but over the course of the last few months he’d really gotten a closer look at them. They moved together, totally in sync with one another and he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t curious about what they were up to. Everyone else had been pretty vocal about their initial plans after getting the money deposited, but neither JJ nor Audrey had offered more than the typical “cars and clothes” they’d all discussed.
“Alright,” Sarah smiled across the table. “What about you two? Gonna get your own love nest?”
John B blanched, “Can we just not talk about their sex life? Can we make that a rule?”
Everyone laughed, including JJ and Audrey. The blonde glanced over at the oldest Routledge, the two silently communicating before JJ cleared his throat, “Yeah, I—I don’t really know what we’re going to do yet.”
“Nothing?” Pope lifted an eyebrow, “Not even an inkling of anything?”
John B watched his sister closely, his eyes flickering between the two as Audrey shrugged at Pope’s question, realization dawned on John an as he said, “You don’t want to go back to the OBX.”
Audrey’s attention shifted to him as he stared back at her. “I—” Audrey sighed, shoving her sunglasses away from her eyes to see him better. “A lot of shit happened there, JB. I’m not overly excited to do anything there right now.”
Silence fell over the table, everyone taking a moment to think back to everything that happened over the last year.
“So, where do you want to go?” Kiara asked the question they were all thinking.
“We’re gonna travel,” JJ took over, his hand slipping down Audrey’s shoulder to caress her elbow, “start with the US and then when the passports come in, see a bit more of the world.”
“You guys have to invest some of that money,” Pope straightened up, “I won’t let you both just piss it away on—”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa,” JJ held up his hand, not liking the heat at which his friends were coming at him right now, “no one said we were gonna piss it all away. We’ve got a plan, we’ve got some things in the works right now. But none of it’s finalized and—”
“Like what?”
“Jeez, Pope, would you let me finish?”
Pope held his hands up in surrender, “I’m sorry, but I wouldn’t say decision making is your strong suit and all I’m hearing is that you’re going to travel the world and the world is expensive.”
“You don’t think I know that?”
“I don’t know! I’m not so sure!”
JJ grunted, “And going back to high school is the way to go?”
“Alright,” Kiara held her hands out as she waved them around, “can we not on our last day? We’ve got the whole plane ride home to argue.”
John B finished his breakfast before standing, motioning for Audrey to follow him as the Routledges left the table. Audrey squeezed JJ’s shoulder in passing, following her brother down the steps towards the private beach area.

March 20th, 2024
It’s Chloe’s birthday. I knew this would happen, but I’m more upset about missing her birthday than I am about not being home for my own.
Struggling this week, feeling full of energy and wanting to participate, but being hindered by waiting (not so patiently) for my feet to heal. And unfortunately I jumped the gun today with socks and hiking boots, and made it approximately 3 hours into class before I was sent to sit in the car and remove my shoes. Infuriating.
So physically I can’t be as present as I’d like. But having to take a step back from the activities has given me more time to really hang out with this family. Our days here are long and the other trainees only really see their families at breakfast and again at 7pm. I’ve been doing half days so I get way more face time with my family here to really connect. And lemme tell you, It’s going to be very hard to leave this family. Been so refreshing to sit and talk to men here that don’t make me uncomfortable, i truly think that is such a cultural difference between Panamanians and Costa Ricans. Watching the History Channel and drinking coffee with my grandpa, doesn’t feel all that different than being home. I saw my uncle and his girlfriend tonight and they gave me a tigers eye necklace. They told me it was to help give me courage and confidence to build a life at my new site wherever that may be. (But they hope it’s in Chririqui so I can visit, I agree).
Chririqui is beautiful, I love the mountains, the weather, and the proximity to Costa Rica. We visited a coffee farm and spent today planting coffee bean seedlings. I’m defintely hanging out with the other trainees less this week but I kinda enjoy the feeling of confidence that once I’m at my site alone I’ll be able to manage just fine.
Ahmet leaves Monday, I can’t look at him or Audrey without getting a lump in my throat. The thought of leaving the office on Monday and him not returning to Los Mortales with us feels so wrong.
Tomorrow we go to Jurutungo National Park and i am SO excited. Will i potentially re-infect my feet? Yes! Was a man mauled by a jaguar there? Also, yes!
Feeling very pensive tonight and missing Chlo tremendously. My takeaway is that I’m very grateful for the relationships I have made here in only three days.

Hi! I hope you're having a wonderful day/night!
I was wondering if you could help me find a replacement faceclaim for Melissa Barrera? Just learned about all the messed up stuff she's said and no longer feel comfortable using her.
If you could please recommend people who are in their early 20s to early 30s and are of Mexican descent, I would greatly appreciate it!
(also, not necessary, but I had picked her mainly for her vibes in Scream 5 and 6 so people who fit that vibe would be extra appreciated!)
Thank you!!

————————————————————————
San Antonio, Texas - Gutierrez Family Barn - March 12th, 2023
Casey adjusted his tie and sighed. He, Darius, Kenji, and Ben were sitting in the chairs that were set in rows in the barn. It was Yaz and Sammy’s wedding.
“Man…I totally bet Sammy’s scared shitless..” Kenji whispered.
Casey chuckled quietly and turned on his walkie. “Brooklynn? What’s taking so long??”
“We’re fine!” Brooklynn’s voice replied. “We’re just dealing with some bridal stress relief right now.”
He could hear Sammy hyperventilating and her sisters trying to calm her down. “Quick, calm her down and get ready. Yaz is sweating profusely from where I can see!”
“Okay, okay, calm down.”
The walkie shut off and Casey sighed. Darius smiled and said, “Can you believe it? Yaz and Sammy are getting married.”
“Yeah, we kinda knew this would happen.” Ben replied. “I just wish Bumpy were here.”
“You can tell her about it when you visit Isla Mantah again.”
“Thanks, D.”
Suddenly, the piano music came and the audience stood up.
“Finally!” Casey whispered.
Brooklynn, April, and Sammy’s sisters made it to the altar and Mr. Gutierrez walking Sammy down the isle. Yaz was so happy and giggled.
After what seems like an eternity, Bessie (the cow) came with the rings and Yaz and Sammy got their rings on each finger. With that, the pastor said, “Now, with the power invested in me, I now pronounce you both married partners for life. You may kiss the bride.”
The pastor stepped back and Sammy pulled Yaz in for a passionate kiss and hugged her tight. The audience erupted into cheer and laughter and the pastor loudly announced, “I now introduce Samantha and Yasmina Gutierrez!”
Casey clapped and April waved at him. With that, Ms. Fadoula burst into tears and wailed, “My baby’s married now!!”
Yaz smiled at her new wife and said, “Hi, Mrs. Gutierrez.”
Three Months Later - Costa Rica
Casey finally placed the last piece of science down and stretched. “Man, that was the last piece of sodium placed and now…quitting time for the day.”
April sat down and said, “Hey, hon.”
She planted a kiss on his cheek and Casey returned the favor with a peck on her lips. April giggled gleefully and said, “We gotta meet up with the others for that picnic that Yaz and Sammy planned with us after their honeymoon.”
“Yeah, I know, April. Sammy reminded us twelve times.” Casey chuckled.
“Yeah…”
The two proceeded to exit the lab part of the house and Caroline smiled. “Took you two long enough.”
“Mom…” Casey chuckled.
“How about I go get ready and we head on over to the park?” April asked.
“Sure, babe.”
April pecked Casey’s lips and left the room. Caroline smiled and asked, “Casey, what is it?”
Casey chuckled and looked at his mother. “Mom…I’m gonna plan to ask April to marry me!”
Caroline covered her mouth keep her screaming from joy and hugged him. “Casey! I have been wanting this moment to happen ever since you first introduced me to her!”
“You okay?” April’s voice called.
“Nothing!”
Caroline smiled and went to a cabinet in which she took out a small ring box which she opened and showed a silver ring with a beautiful diamond on it. “This was my grandmother’s engagement ring. She hoped that I would eventually use it and then give it to my children…and I now give it to you.”
Casey looked at the beautiful ring and suddenly put it in his pocket as he heard April’s footsteps and she appeared with a basket and her blue skirt well-ironed. “Ready?”
“Yep.” Casey replied.
The two proceeded to leave the house and walked to the Parque Okayama park where the others were sitting on a beach towel over one of the grass fields. Ben waved for the two. “Hey! April and Casey! Over here!”
The couple smiled and sat down. Darius said, “Hey, guys!”
“Hey, Case!” Sammy said.
“Hey, guys!” Casey said. “Sammy, Yaz, how was your honeymoon?”
Yaz laughed gleefully. “We loved it! A honeymoon in Italy was the best day we’ve had since our first kiss! Thanks, Kenji, for paying for all that.”
“I’m just stuck paying the bills.” Kenji chuckled. “It’s the least I can do to make you two ladies happen.”
Sammy chuckled and gazed lovingly at her wife. “And spending that week in Italy with my wife is the best experience I could have.”
“I love you, Sam.” Yaz smiled.
“I love you too, Yaz.”
The two kissed and Brooklynn said, “This was way better than when you spam your flirty stuff on the Discord DMs.”
Yaz playfully chucked a leaf at Brooklynn and the two girls giggled. Sammy wrapped her arms around her wife and said, “Guys! We gotta get eating!”
Kenji pulled out the pizza box and Casey asked, “Is this Papa Johns?”
“Yup.” Kenji replied. “ Aaaaaaannnddd, I forgot a pizza cutter.”
“Oh, honey.” Brooklynn soothed a hand on his shoulder.
“No need.” Casey showed his hand which formed into his raptor claw and cut the pizza in separate slices.
After a while, it nearly became sunset and then Brooklynn asked Kenji, “Hey, Kenj? Should we tell them?”
“Tell us what?” Casey asked. “I mean, Ben and Darius are dating and we were shocked by that, Yaz and Sammy are married, so what’s gonna shock us now?”
Brooklynn showed her right hand which had a shiny little ring and Kenji said, “We’re engaged!”
Sammy squealed and Ben cheered. Yaz clapped her hands and Casey yelled, “Holy shit! Congratulations!”
“Yeah! Congratulations!” April added.
“Awesome! Congrats, bro!” Darius said.
“Y’know, I’m soon to become a Bowman.” Brooklynn replied. “Just thinking about it…”
She squealed like Suzie Q from Jojo. “It makes me blush!”
“This is crazy…” Sammy said. “This all started eight years ago, back on Isla Nublar. We went from strangers, to friends, and eventually family.”
“Yeah…Yeah, we did.” Casey smiled.
“Now look at us. Now we’re-”
“Immortal.” Ben said.
“In-laws.” Brooklynn said.
“Survivors.” April said.
“Celebrities.” Darius said.
“I was gonna say, “Soulmates” and together.” Sammy replied.
“And to think that Sammy would become my wife.” Yaz added.
“And to think that most of us are about to be married.” Darius said.
“Also, it’s June. This is the seventh anniversary of when we escaped Nublar.” Casey said. “Happy Nublar-escape anniversary!!”
“HAPPY NUBLAR-ESCAPE ANNIVERSARY!!!” Everyone said.
Around an hour and a half, the six of the Nublar Seven returned to the hotel and Casey and April walked back to their home.
April chuckled and got her night clothes on. Casey looked in his pocket and got the box with the ring in it. April sat on the bed and said, “It’s nice that the others are staying in Costa Rica for the rest of the week for that anniversary that you made.”
“Yeah.” Casey walked over to her with the ring box behind his back. “Hey, babe. I have a massive question right now. Since Kenji and Brooklynn are engaged now and, well, April…I love you so much and now that Mae has a girlfriend and a lot of things are going good in our lives right now, I wanna make our lives even better than those experiences on Isla Mantah and with TJ, Angel, Rebel, and Firecracker…So, April Turner, will you…” He opened the box in which April gasped. “…marry me?”
“Casey, YES!” April exclaimed.
Casey and April hugged and he slid the ring onto her finger. The two kissed and Caroline walked in. The scientist smiled and asked her son, “So, what’s the answer?”
“Yes.” April has happy tears down her face.
Caroline screamed of excitement and hugged the two. Casey smiled and before the two went to bed, he got on his phone and got into the group chat.
DrCaseyJohnson: Hey, guys!
TrackOlympicsYaz (Mrs. Gutierrez): What?
Farmgirl2022: Yeah, you woke me and Yaz up. What’s the news???
BrooklynnUnboxesTheWorld: What’s the news, Dr. Johnson?”
DrCaseyJohnson: I proposed to April tonight and she said, “Yes!!!!”
JungleBoy5000: WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Dinonerd2001: THAT’S AMAZING!!!! I’m so happy for you two!!!!
BrooklynnUnboxesTheWorld: When’s the wedding????
DrCaseyJohnson: I just proposed! I had not thought of anything else yet. To quote Yaz from 2015, “I did not think this through.”
TrackOlympicsYaz (Mrs. Gutierrez): Please do not quote me the day I broke my ankle, that was not a pleasant moment for any of us.
Casey smiled and looked at the sleeping fiancée besides him. Life could not be any better.

A fala correta é "Play it, Sam".
