The fact that Olivia Cooke got the role of Alicent Hightower by acting a scene of Cersei in her audition will forever be my Roman Empire.

30. favorite / funniest / most cursed screenshot?
From the Veilguard asks!
omg wait, i was about to say i don't really have funny screenshots, but i DO have one that had me rolling for a while - not from an inherent quality from the shot itself, exactly, but bc i couldn't unsee a comparison xD

What's the deal with Murph and aarakocras?
Short answer: it’s a NADDPod Dungeon Court thing
Longer answer: People who play aarakocras are notorious for being Problem Players, and Murph has made his opinions on those players very clear (negative) on the show Dungeon Court. It’s been a running thing for years now to the point that whenever aaracokras are mentioned Murph will be biased against them on principle. It’s all in good fun though.

one of my favorite crime procedural genres has gotta be when the cops want to show a picture of a victim to somebody, and it's just the actor's headshot

the playwright was here for opening night tonight and stayed to talk after the show and my asm's said they asked for me specifically once they had a second post show and they hyped me silly goofily up while the actors were there but once the actors left they gave me the most genuine compliment ive ever gotten in my entire life period. like made sure i was making eye contact with them while they told me how well i did calling the show

just got cast in an original play and the more I hear the more worried I am that it’s gonna be thematically antifeminist ://// but I can’t know for sure because the director is so fucking disorganized he hasn’t given me a script yet

An early role for Don Henderson, skulking around as criminal fixer Harry Watson and generally being a menace, in New Scotland Yard: My Boy Robby? (2.13, LWT, 1973)
#fave spotting#don henderson#george bulman#new scotland yard#my boy robby?#the xyy man#strangers#bulman#classic tv#character actors#lwt#1973#don was already in his 40s at this point but this is still one of his earliest tv roles#he'd come to acting relatively late in life‚ having already had a career in the police (reaching the rank of detective sergeant in CID no#less‚ the equal of this show's Alan Ward (John Carlisle's asshat assistant to Woodvine)). he apparently auditioned for the RSC as a dare#but was accepted and spent several years learning his trade on the boards before he started taking small tv roles in the early 70s. in a#few years he'd be cast as the secondary antagonist in The XYY Man‚ another DS‚ George Kitchener Bulman; this would be the making of him and#the beginnings of genre immortality. Bulman would get his own spin off‚ Strangers‚ and then a further show (simply titled Bulman) and with#it came a certain amount of celebrity‚ as well as household recognition and a plethora of better roles than the kind he'd begun with#here he's a vague fixer type working for a local mob boss‚ whose job is to intimidate the sole witness in a nasty rape and murder case#he takes the job with aplomb (TW for any unlikely follower who might seek this ep out: things don't go well for that doggy)#he has very little screen time really‚ but his character is quite a scene stealer; what with his rather loud outfit and questionable wig#and his little helper friend (Derek Deadman) who I'm pretty sure is drinking Tizer in that pic above... there's an odd frisson of camp to#his role and these scenes. not that he isn't very much a nasty type (before Bulman‚ Don was very much at risk of being typecast as playing#men on the other side of the law to the one he'd worked on; his craggy face and gravel voice lent themselves to criminal types it seems)#apologies for not great pics but the youtube uploads of these eps aren't the clearest things in the world#still im very grateful just to be able to see them (and him!)
