every day i learn something new about logan sargeant and his racing career, not just about his performance in f1 but in f2 and previous series, too. and every day i end up so sad because he genuinely has so so much potential and can do so much but he keeps being give a poor hand of cards. this guy out qualified his teammate in f2 TEN TO FOUR. and who was his teammate?? liam lawson. liam joined redbull’s driver academy in february of 2019 while logan only got to join an f1 team’s driver academy in october of 2021. that team was williams. which, as we know, hasn't exactly been the best performing team in recent years. oscar piastri got to join an f1 team’s driver academy in january of 2020 (the renault sport academy, later rebranded as the alpine academy). liam and oscar both got the opportunity to do f1 tests for YEARS prior to their f1 debuts in 2023. liam had 4 and a half years of experience in f1 cars before 2023. oscar had 3 years of experience in f1 cars before 2023. even if it was just testing and practice sessions, it's still something.
what did logan get? one measly fp2 session, post-season testing, and then jumped right in to pre-season testing in 2023. he already had a seat in williams then, so with the experience from before the pre-season testing in 2023 he got to do maybe 800km of testing in an f1 car. the others — in this case i mean oscar, liam, and heck even nyck de vris — had opportunities to drive f1 cars and gain experience for YEARS before logan. if you look at nyck de vris: he got signed to the mclaren young driver programme in 2010. he joined the audi sport racing academy in 2016. granted, he left the mclaren programme in before the 2019 season and left audi after the 2019 season, too. but he then went to mercedes as a reserve driver and tester for 2020 and afterwards. this means he got just about a DECADE AND A HALF of teams putting their time and energy into training him to join f1.
logan got a year. one. single. fucking year. that is entirely incomparable to the other rookies from 2023, who had so much more experience before hand. and yet logan was jumped into f1 and the expectations were so high for a guy who hasn't had the chance to train and learn and gain experience.
and yet when we look at the 2022 f2 season, logan sargeant, a rookie, was 1 point off from his teammate —the one and only liam lawson — scoring p4 in the championship. he outqualified his teammate 10 to 4. he was the first american to win an f2 race (that is, of course, following the rebrand from gp2 to f2, but regardless, that’s still an important thing to note and an achievement of his that should be celebrated).
logan sargeant has so much potential and if only williams would show him a little more faith unlike what they’ve been doing, if only they’d give him the same upgrades as alex, if only they wouldn’t force him to drive a car 15kg overweight from that of his teammate’s car, if only they wouldn’t force him to use outdated rear and front wings from the season prior. then perhaps he would have a chance to show what he can do. perhaps if he wasn’t stuck in a team with a crap car who have shown zero faith (which has been vehemently obvious since the circus in australia) in him and made him absolutely miserable, a shell of himself — which you can clearly see in recent interviews and photos of him — then maybe he’d be able to show how good he really is. and maybe if williams hadn’t been so adamant about taking him out of f2 so quickly and let him develop for one more year, we’d be seeing headlines that say “logan sargeant, first american f1 driver on the podium since michael andretti in 1993.” and perhaps we could even see him winning races.
no matter what someone says about his current f1 performances — though most base that solely off of where he ends up on the grid rather than looking at his actual driving and seeing how good he is as a driver considering the crap circumstances he’s in — logan sargeant is a better driver than what everyone says. he is trying so insanely hard to get a car that is miles off from the rest of the field to place as high as humanly possible. no one can say that if you put another driver in that car that logan is driving they'd be doing better than he is now. the fact is, they wouldn't be. he's been given an absolute tractor and is expected to score points when that car isn't built for getting in the points. and yet logan managed to get p10 in the miami sprint race — which should be recognized and commended. because he was in an awful car and he absolutely shined that day. that was just the start of showing what he could do. but he hasn't been given the same resources as alex, those being the upgrades, so what more can he do compared to what he's doing now?
and i am actually sitting here crying as i type this because this is a driver who is giving it his all even when the entire world is against him, even when his entire TEAM is against him, and he is persevering to the best of his abilities. and i know exactly what it’s like to sit here, wanting to reach for your dreams and show everyone how good you are, but to have only your closest friends and family on your side, rooting for you. what it’s like to look everywhere around you and see everyone calling you crap and saying you should quit and that you aren’t and never will be good enough. to look around and see your closest friends and family cheering for you, yet feeling like crap because you aren't doing as well as you would want, feeling inferior to everyone around you.
news flash: logan sargeant is and will always be good enough. he just needs the opportunity to show it, and williams is ruining that for him.
and yes, i will defend him with my life. people who try to say otherwise can try to do the same hours — the WEEKS — worth of research that i’ve done about logan and his career because he IS a good driver and HE DESERVES BETTER.
any hate comments towards logan will be deleted, because i have neither the time nor the energy to deal with that and argue with logan haters. i've said all of what i know and can remember about him and his career above, and will add what i can as time goes on and i remember something else or learn something new. if you have the time to hate on logan, you have the time to do your research and examine the fact that he has the potential to do well, but is not in a position for that because of the abhorrent circumstances he is currently in.
thank you for coming to my ted talk. edit: i'd also really recommend reading this twitter thread!! it goes into some more depth on logan and his f2 / f1 career, and even a little bit about his f3 career. it's very informative and articulates much of logan's career and why he is a better driver than many believe very well. https://x.com/herrocult/status/1795747913588761027
#logan sargeant#f1#williams racing#ls2#logie sargeant#logan sargeant rants#i will actually go to war for him lmao#like genuinely he deserves sm better#and people can't help but look just at the surface level rather than really looking into him and his career and analyzing his driving#it's so ARAGHAGRHAGRHRAGH#i will always defend him.#logiebear#YES I CALL HIM LOGIE BEAR AFFECTIONATELY BECAUSE HE IS SO DEAR TO ME#logie bear#i've literally fought my teacher over him i'm that adamant about defending him

12 Years In The Making - Tumblr Request
"Love, remember, we're having dinner tonight, don't make plans." Hugh yelled from the bathroom as he was shaving his face.
I smiled, "I know, babe. I haven't forgotten. I'll make sure I'm free and finished up with my interview before 7." I said as I re-checked my dress.
Tonight, was Hugh and I's tenth wedding anniversary. Normally, we'd be on a trip like we did every year for our anniversary, but I had just celebrated the premiere of a movie I'd been filming for the last year, so that halted our anniversary vacation plans. Our kids were visiting with Hugh's mother, Grace while she was in town, so we had the house to ourselves for the night. Hugh's older kids, Oscar and Ava were going to be joining us for dinner tonight.
In 2012, Hugh and I met whilst working on a movie set together and immediately began dating. I was 22 and he was going on 44 years old. He'd been divorced from his ex-wife for about 9 months at that time. His kids were around 7 and 12 at the time. We married in 2014 with a quiet beachfront ceremony in Australia, surrounded by our immediate families, his children and a few of our closest friends. Our ceremony was more intimate than anything, with Hugh tearing up seeing me accompanied down the beach by my father.
In 2015, we found out we were expecting our first child, Hugh's first biological child. Our daughter was born in early 2016. Our second daughter was born in 2019, with our son being born in 2022, just two years ago. Our kids were now 8, 5 and 2. Despite being a huge blended family, he knows I would never be caught dead driving a mini van or a "mom car". While he drives the luxury SUVs, mom still drives the Audi RX8 and occasionally a Dodge Charger if I have the babies in the backseat.
I was shaken from my thoughts by a kiss on the cheek, "You look beautiful, baby." He said softly in my ear as he smiled at me.
I blushed, "Thank you. Where are we going tonight?" I asked, knowing he would never tell me, but always hopeful that he'd slip up one day and spoil a surprise.
He smirked at me as he shook his head, "Now Darling, you know if I told you where we were going, it would spoil the surprise."
I playfully rolled my eyes, "How am I supposed to know where to meet you after my interview if I don't know where you're taking me to dinner?" I asked, trying to catch him up once more.
He chuckled as he pressed a kiss on the top of my head, "You're meeting me at the first place I took you when you moved to New York. That is the only hint I'm giving you."
Stefanos. Stefanos was the first place Hugh took me for dinner once I'd officially moved in with him, in 2013. It was a beautiful, high-end Italian restaurant. He'd picked it because he knew Italian was my favorite type of cuisine.
I smiled as I pulled him in for a kiss, "I've gotta go or else I'm gonna be late." I mumbled against his lips.
He smirked against my lips, mumbling back, "You can be fashionably late, love. I would love to ravage you right here."
I giggled, "As much as I want to, and you know I have a hard time turning you down, I have to go... but, later tonight, I promise I'll make it up to you." I said seductively while slowly grazing my hand over the crotch of his pants.
He laughed, almost shivering at my touch, "This is why we have three kids." He said nonchalantly.
I laughed as I grabbed my keys to head towards the door of our home, "Alright, I'll see you at 7." I said, smiling as I walked out of the house.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I quickly finished up my interview, noticing it was now 6:30, which meant I had to haul literal ass to Stefano's to get there by 7 to meet Hugh for our anniversary dinner. I grabbed my keys and wallet and began sprinting towards the elevator, then towards the parking garage where my car was parked.
I managed to make it to Stefano's right at 6:59 on the dot to see Hugh standing outside of his SUV, looking at me. I quickly shut the engine off and jumped out, "I am so sorry I'm almost late. The interview finished at 6:30, traffic downtown was a nightmare." I said almost anxiety ridden from the traffic.
He giggled, "It's okay, love... But I lied to you. We're not eating at Stefano's." He smirked, trying to keep a straight face.
I looked at him almost wide eyed, "Why did you make me rush to Stefano's then?" I asked, getting a bit annoyed.
Traffic and anxiety were not my friend, clearly. Luckily, my husband knew this and never took it personally.
He chuckled at me as he walked up to me and kissed me, "Because you kept insisting that I tell you where I was taking you." He said cockily.
I sighed, chuckling as I rolled my eyes, wrapping my arms around his neck, "Okay, I learned my lesson. Now seriously, what are we doing?"
He pulled away from me and walked towards his SUV, "Get in and I'll take you to the actual place we're going."
I shrugged my shoulders, "Okay." I said as I grabbed my wallet out of my Audi, locking the car and getting into his SUV.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hugh drove for another 10 minutes, while his free hand interlocked its fingers with mine. The ride was filled with him happily singing along to songs on the radio. I noticed we were pulling up at an event venue and looked over at him.
He knew I was going to, considering he was smiling at me as he parked the car. "What are we doing, Jackman?" I asked, almost suspiciously, raising one brow at him.
He chuckled cheekily, "We're doing another press interview." He said casually.
I squinted my eyes, "This is not a very good surprise." I said sarcastically.
He rolled his eyes, shutting the car off and getting out, "Just come on." He said, mocking annoyance.
I got out of the SUV as he came over and linked his arm with mine as we began walking towards the entrance of the venue.
"Is this seriously a press interview?" I asked, noticing all of the cars in the parking lot.
He nodded, "Okay, it's not a press interview. We're going to Ryan and Blake's wrap party, but I promise, I am taking you to dinner afterwards." He said as we continued walking.
I sighed. It was our tenth wedding anniversary. As much as I loved and adored Ryan and Blake, I wanted to celebrate my anniversary. I didn't care to be celebrating everyone else tonight. This was out of the ordinary for Hugh, but with how busy he'd been with the press for Deadpool & Wolverine, I'm not too surprised our anniversary had slipped to the back burner.
As we approached the entrance, his grip on my arm tightened as he pulled me closer, wrapping one arm around my waist. As we entered the venue, I immediately spotted Blake and Ryan, and a group of people I hadn't yet recognized or paid much attention to. There were pictures of Blake's new film, It Ends With Us plastered near the stage area.
Blake and Ryan approached us, "About time you two made it. We were getting ready to post your numbers on a billboard." Ryan joked.
Hugh and I laughed, "Thanks for coming, you too. I know it's your anniversary, you can blame him for the poor planning." Blake said sympathetically as she shot Ryan a glare.
I smiled as I hugged her, "It's okay. Thank you for having us." I said, hiding my disappointment.
"Mommy!" I heard yell as I felt two small arms wrap around my waist.
I chuckled as I looked down to see our middle daughter hugging my waist, "Hey boo, where's grandma Grace?" I asked her as I rubbed her hair.
She shrugged, "She's talking to uncle Shawn." Our daughter said as she pointed over to Shawn Levy, who was in fact chatting it up with my mother-in-law, as she held our two year old son on her hip.
I giggled, as Hugh asked her, "What about daddy? You didn't miss me?" He playfully pouted.
She giggled as she playfully shook her head no, still holding onto my waist.
Our 5-year-old was a bit...scared of daddy after seeing him on the set for Deadpool and Wolverine. She truly believed daddy had claws that come out of his hands when he's upset, which has been hilarious and a bit aggravating convincing her that Daddy indeed does not have claws that come out of his knuckles.
I stooped down to look at her, "You better give daddy a hug." I said playfully, trying to sound firm.
She shook her head no, "Mommy, daddy has claws that come out of him hands." She said as matter of factly.
Hugh tried hard to not show his laughter as he watched our interaction.
I shrugged, "I know he does." I nodded, "If you don't hug him, I think they might come out. Quick, hurry!" I said dramatically to her, lightly pushing her towards Hugh.
Ryan was having a hard time holding his laughter back as he watched me interact with my daughter, while Hugh shot me a glare, trying also to not laugh as our daughter nervously walked over and hugged her dad.
Hugh shook his head at me as he picked her up, "Baby, daddy does not have claws. Your mommy just says that because she's got them and doesn't want you to know the truth." He said sarcastically as he stuck his tongue out at me.
As we walked further into the venue, I began noticing the people in the crowd. I saw my family, Hugh's siblings, his mother of course, a bunch of our friends, my step children, etc.
I looked towards Hugh, "Did you fly my family here for Ryan and Blake's wrap party?" I asked almost in disbelief.
He smirked, "I flew your family here for your gift, baby."
I looked at him, puzzled. "I'm so confused right now."
He chuckled as he sat our daughter down, "I've got to go give a speech for Blake. I'll be back." He said quickly as he walked over towards the stage, grabbing a microphone, tapping it to make sure it's on.
Our daughter ran to play with the other kids as my family approached me, showering me in hugs. My family did not live in New York, they lived further down south. Hugh always made sure to fly them up for any special occasion. He knew it meant the world to me whenever he'd include them in anything we did.
Hugh began speaking into the microphone, "Hello everyone. " He said with a smile, "Tonight, we're here to celebrate the premiere of Blake's new film." He continued as he smiled towards Blake and Ryan. "I just want to say, I appreciate each and every one of you for coming tonight. Planning this event has been stressful because I did not want to risk my wife finding out." He smirked towards me, laughing nervously.
I looked up at him, shooting him a glare. So he couldn't plan something for our anniversary, but he could take the time to plan something for our friend's movie release. I noticed Ryan and Blake looking over at me, snickering. Hugh noticed my glare as he continued giggling nervously.
"My wife thinks she's here to celebrate Blake's movie." He said as he smiled cheekily at me, "But actually baby, we're here to celebrate our anniversary." He said sweetly as my glare faded into an over-emotional expression. "Ten years ago, I married this beautiful, sexy, gorgeous woman. I met her twelve years ago to this very day, and I fell madly in love with her." He paused as I began to tear up. Our oldest daughter, who was 8 walked over and held my hand.
I shook my head in disbelief that I'd actually thought he'd forgotten to plan something special. "Baby, this party is for you. You are an incredible mother to our children. You are an incredible wife. I am so blessed to be married to you and to share this life with you, even if you are difficult to deal with sometimes." He joked, causing me to chuckle while everyone began laughing.
He smiled at me, "Come here, baby." He said as he motioned his hand for me to come up on the stage.
I blushed shyly as I walked up towards the stage, taking his hand. "I love you. Happy 10 years, baby." he said sweetly as he pulled me into his arms, smiling at me.
I smiled, wrapping my arms around his neck. "I love you too. Happy 10 years...and to many, many more..." I said as I pulled him in for a kiss.

Without trying to make everything about Daniel (lol what a joke have you even met me), I do think it's very interesting to see how Hulkenberg getting a three year contract at Audi is met with an overwhelmingly positive response. Yet anything that even hints at Daniel either staying at VCarb next year, or still being in consideration for the Red Bull seat, is immediatly filled with responses arguing how unfair it is for younger drivers that older drivers keep getting new contracts, despite Daniel being younger than Hulk.
Also important to highlight, in the continued existence of "maybe this era of F1 cars simply doesn't suit Daniel" narratives, that per Mark Hughes (above) Ricciardo is the far superior racer, especially pertaining to understanding the Pirelli tyres and how to make the most of them over a race distance. He maintains that in the right car Ricciardo is definitively the quicker of the two over a lap, despite Hulkenberg's strength in qualifying (after all Daniel won both the teammate quali and race head-to-head battles in 2019).

In need of a new perspective
one-shot inspired by the line, "No thing so sure that I can't learn to doubt it" from New Perspective by Noah Kahan mentions of parts 2 and 3 of the social media au but can be read independently ☺️ 600+ words
masterlist
It was during Bahrain’s first free practice session that Johanna first met Fernando Alonso. The team was happy with her time and still full of adrenaline, she decided to go for a walk around the paddock. Recognizing him from testing earlier that year, Jo greeted Lance as she passed the Aston Martin facilities.
He smiled as she slowed, “Hey Johanna, how’s practice going?”
“Pretty good, I think. Mick gave me some tips that turned out pretty useful. I’m having to completely adapt my driving style to take these turns at this speed.”
“Oh yeah, I remember that. You’ll get the hang of it.”
He started moving back towards his team’s garage, and was happy to continue the conversation as they walked. Her black race suit stood out in the sea of green, but most smiled at her as she passed. Before long, Stroll’s engineer was calling him. On the other side of the garage Alonso was getting out his car as the time ran out for the first session of the weekend.
“Mohn,” he called as she started to turn back to her walk, “how is your first weekend?”
Jo stopped short, smiling, “Well, the team’s happy so I can’t complain.”
He nodded, “And how are you?”
She looked out to the pit lane at the other crew, staff, and journalists milling about. “Nervous. There’s a lot of expectations riding on me right now.”
“Don’t worry about all of them. I’ve seen you race. You will excel here.”
Her eyebrows raised of their own accord, “You’ve seen me race?”
He grinned, “I went back and watched most of last year’s F2 season after Audi announced you as their driver. I like knowing who I am racing against.”
Johanna was shocked. Fernando Alonso, someone she had been watching since she was little, saw her as a competitor. An equal. “That’s…that’s really cool to hear, Alonso.”
Later that day, after the second session, he commented on her tweet about the car. Laughing at his response to Lance, she showed it to Oscar and Logan.
“She’s got a mentor. Oscar, how are we going to compete with her?” Logan over dramatically fell back on the couch in her driver room, “But seriously, that’s awesome.”
After the boys left, Johanna found herself doing the one thing everyone told her not to do. The comments on her tweet - and posts made by Audi Sport’s official accounts - were full of the same general sentiment. She didn’t belong here. She wasn’t good enough to compete against the other drivers. She was a PR stunt. She won’t last a year. Comment after comment it felt never-ending, and it wasn’t hard to believe the things people were writing about her. Nearly in tears, she texted her teammate. Mick was quick to respond.
Have you been reading your comments again?
c’mon, we’re not AlphaTauri
Minutes later she got a text from Fernando.
You may not see it when we are in our cars, but you have many fans on the grid
Talking to him helped quite a bit, and the two of them must of said something to her other friends because just about the second her conversation ended with Alonso she got a text from Oscar inviting her to come out with the rest of the grid kids; they had taken to calling themselves that, referring to the combined trios of 2019 and 2023 rookies, mostly because it annoyed Alex and George. While they were out, Lando pulled her aside.
“All of those comments are coming from idiots that can barely drive down the street. You have just as much merit to be here as Oscar and Logan, you hear? And if anyone around the paddock says something you just let us know.”
The others overheard and gathered closer around them. George smiled at her, “Yeah, Lewis has taught the rest of us a thing or two about correcting reporters. We have no problem putting someone in their place.”
Johanna was grateful for the reminder that she had support from the people that mattered.

What Is The Worst Car Brand?
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/bec02eeba7a049ddb4c1f0abdbd8d343/08afd04d981ec743-3c/s540x810/83e5c2083e5a816ba7cc56232c1aeacd5fc80141.jpg)
Selecting a reliable vehicle can be a tricky journey, but knowing what the worst car brand is can help a lot. There’s only so much you can learn from reading the lists of best models. Sometimes it’s better to filter out those manufacturers that simply aren’t worth your money and energy.
Knowing the reputation of a brand is essential if you want to avoid the title of the “worst drivers by car brand”. None of us want to get featured in those and, trust me, you might still end up there even if you’re the best driver the earth has ever seen.
Today we’ll see which brands fail to deliver the performance we expected and what you should know to select a reliable model.
WHAT IS THE WORST CAR BRAND PRODUCED IN JAPAN?
4 worst releases from Japanese manufacturers
It’s really hard to name the worst car brand ever when it comes to the Japanese market. Their vehicles usually rank high on consumer reports, making it difficult to bash Japanese manufacturers. However, we can still talk about certain brands that have released poorly performing cars.
2019 Infiniti QX30
Infiniti vehicles are abundant on the lists of worst vehicles. For some reason, their newer releases fail to meet our expectations. Their QX30 leaves a lot to be desired – it’s not as good as its cheaper competitors. Plus, it doesn’t offer anything new – you’d probably get the same deal if you went for an older model.
2019 Nissan Sentra
2019 Nissan Sentra is quite overpriced, to say the least. It doesn’t have anything exciting to force us to forget about its poor performance. Driving it is a dreadful experience since the interior is quite cheap both in terms of looks and feel.
2019 Infiniti Q70
2019 Infiniti Q70 isn’t any better. Even though it’s priced and marketed as a luxury vehicle, it fails to deliver the performance and comfort we expect from a higher range. You can get far better models for less money.
2019 Mitsubishi Mirage
2019 Mitsubishi Mirage scores quite poorly on reliability scores. It’s quite affordable and fuel-efficient, yet it won’t last you long enough to appreciate those features. It doesn’t have any improvements from previous models either.
What is the worst brand of car to buy new? – I’d say Infiniti. Their newer models are a waste of money. Japanese manufacturers have a lot to offer and that’s exactly why we judge these vehicles so strictly. The bar is too high to turn a blind eye on such poor releases.
WHAT IS THE WORST CAR BRAND PRODUCED IN GERMAN?
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/c63172b4461c802eac318d4ebf9abb76/08afd04d981ec743-05/s540x810/c8c4d2cfaca67cc6175878c65291c75752169fe4.jpg)
Commonly known for durability, certain German manufacturers have low reliability scores, including Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Mercedes Benz, and Porsche. Even though these brands have some outstanding vehicles, many of their models are failing in terms of safety.
Volkswagen
I can’t say that Volkswagen is the worst car brand on earth, yet their vehicles fall short of performance. Some of their models are costly as they reveal quite a few problems. There are some advices on how to increase car mileage and reduce fuel costs. Overall, consumers aren’t that happy with VW.
Audi
Surprisingly, Audi doesn’t have high reliability scores. Some of their models are absolutely breathtaking, while others leave a lot to be desired. There are some tips and tricks that you can take into account to increase car mileage. However, such in consistency is the very reason why this brand is often listed among the worst manufacturers.
BMW
Another German brand that doesn’t meet the consumers’ expectations is BMW. Their cars are often judged because they aren’t reliable. I’m not saying that all of their models are horrible – I’m just saying that some of their vehicles don’t deliver the quality we want from a German manufacturer.
Mercedes Benz
The users of Mercedes Benz have reported quite a few problems as well. You’ll certainly have a luxury experience with their cars, yet they won’t be as durable as vehicles from Lexus or Subaru.
Porsche
Porsche is probably the worst car brand for safety. If you buy their car, you’ll likely have to face a lot of problems. The repairs will be pricey, which is why you need to think carefully before you go for their vehicle.
German cars also have high depreciation rates which is another reason why they aren’t the best investment.
While we’re talking about German cars, it’s worth noting that the worst Italian car brand is Alfa Romeo. Their vehicles tend to result in high repair costs. However, you can review some tips and tricks that help you to take good care of your car and make your car last longer.
WHAT CAR BRAND DRIVES THE WORST MOTORISTS?
The manufacturers that attract the worst drivers are plenty but the ones that stand out are the Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Range Rover, and VW. We don’t judge anyone personally, yet these cars tend to attract the most annoying drivers.
Audi
If you want to experience an uncontrollable rage, you should drive next to an Audi. They host pretentious drivers who get out of their way to show off their vehicles. They might not cause that many accidents but they surely will force you to scold them with your glance.
BMW
For some reason, BMW drivers tend to believe they rule the world. They forget all the signs and drive as if the roads were in their possession. Their driving habits will surely drive you nuts.
Mercedes Benz
Mercedes Benz cars are luxurious yet we can’t say the same about their drivers. Just because you own a Mercedes doesn’t mean you should drive like a moron. For some reason, the owners of this brand are among the most obnoxious drivers.
Range Rover
To be fair, not all of the Range Rover drivers are annoying. If you bought an off-road to drive in the city, congratulations, you’re probably one of the worst drivers. Cars have labels for a reason and an off-road doesn’t belong on busy city streets.
Volkswagen
Volkswagen drivers are annoying not because they don’t know how to drive, but because they still believe they own a BMW. If you look out the window and wonder “who drives like that”, I’m guessing you’re next to a VW. They always want to be in the first row and do their best to squeeze themselves even on the busiest streets.
HOW TO CHOOSE A RELIABLE CAR?
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/1c4a4ac0d9f7fc5e830e10c4940544f0/08afd04d981ec743-97/s540x810/27c245bae31baa3c4566cf8ec6544024945edd50.jpg)
If you want to steer away from the worst reliable car brand and instead purchase a durable vehicle, you should do your research carefully. The only way to buy a reliable car is to spend hours reading reviews and reports. You can use the following steps as a guide.
Check out reliability scores
The first thing you should do is to examine reliability scores. J.D Power and Consumer Reports release information about vehicles every year. They rate cars depending on their category and always explore dependability, safety, and performance in their research.
Read consumers’ reviews
But it’s also important to read other people’s reviews. That way, you’ll understand what problems they had and why. Their experience will help you purchase a car that will stay by your side for a long time.
Don’t get fooled by marketing
Worst drivers by car brand purchase vehicles because of amazing marketing campaigns. That’s one of the reasons why they are so annoying on the roads. If you don’t want to be among them, you should always double-check the information you see in those ads. Once again, reading reviews and consumer reports is the key.
Don’t fall for dealers’ suggestions
Certain salespeople earn their commissions based on the cars they sell. For example, they will get more if they sell BMW instead of Toyota. They might tell you that a certain vehicle has the most innovative speaker system. They might hype up the car just to crank up the value. I’m not saying that all salespeople are lying – I’m just saying that you shouldn’t trust their suggestions blindfolded.
FINAL TAKEAWAY
Even though the brands we discussed don’t have the highest reliability scores, it doesn’t mean we should refuse to buy every vehicle they release. All of them have great models that will prove their worth over time.
As you can see, it’s not difficult to label a manufacturer as the worst car brand. What’s difficult is to find a car that is worth your money. You should remember that you can find great cars among Japanese, British, Italian, or German manufacturers – you simply have to have a model-based approach.
Don’t buy the vehicles from top brands – purchase a car that scores high on reliability ratings. Examine resale value, look for answers online, and don’t judge cars by their brands.

Formula E announces replacement for CEO Reigle | Formula E
Formula E CEO Jamie Reigle is to step down next month after four years in charge of the all-electric single-seater world championship. The series has announced former Virgin Media O2 CEO Jeff Dodds will replace Reigle on June 5th. Reigle took charge of Formula E from founder Alejando Agag in September 2019. He faced a series of challenges as the Covid-19 pandemic struck three months later, forcing the cancellation of many races and drastic changes to its schedule. He also oversaw the introduction of the new ‘Gen3’ car for 2023. While Formula E has won praise for the quality of its racing this year, several manufacturers have left the series in recent seasons including BMW, Audi and Mercedes. The latter specifically cited Formula E’s poor viewing figures as a contributing factor in its decision to leave despite winning back-to-back championships for both teams and drivers. Reigle said it had been “an honour leading Formula E for the last four years.” “I was initially attracted to Formula E’s unique position as a sport at the intersection of innovation, sustainability and electric mobility,” he continued. “What I found was far more ambitious and humbling; a passionate group of people committed to building a global sport while changing the world. “This mission continues under new leadership and as someone who benefitted from a partnership with Alejandro I’m happy to support Jeff before reverting to life as a passionate Formula E fan.” Agag thanked Reigle for his period in charge of the series. “I enjoyed partnering with Jamie to build upon my founding vision while reimagining the definition of success for Formula E,” he said. “It has been a pleasure working with him and I look forward to welcoming him back at Formula E races in the future.” Dodds has also previously worked for Honda UK, where he was head of marketing until moving on in 2007. He is also a non-executive director at the UK government’s Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. Agag said Dodds “brings a proven track record of dynamic leadership and impressive execution to Formula E, and the board looks forward to him unlocking the full potential of Formula E, for the benefit of our fans, teams, manufacturers, partners and stakeholders.” Advert | Become a RaceFans supporter and go ad-free 2023 F1 season Browse all 2023 F1 season articles via RaceFans - Independent Motorsport Coverage https://www.racefans.net/

My Top 10 Iconic Le Mans Legends
This weekend, the 24 Hours of Le Mans race will celebrate its 100th anniversary, and with 62 cars from different classes gathering around in this centennial milestone as well as special guest stars, rest assured that the 100th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is going to be historical indeed.
As the whole world is bracing for the centennial running of the legendary endurance race that pushes carmakers over the limit in the name of speed and survival, it's time for me to jot down my top ten iconic Le Mans legends.
10) GR010 - Following the success of their LMP1-class TS050, which propelled Toyota Gazoo Racing to three straight overall titles at Le Mans, Toyota created this competitor to the new Hypercar class, which replaced the LMP1 class after the 2020 season. Complying with Hypercar regulations, the GR010 is powered by a 3.5L V6 twin-turbo engine mated to an electric motor that powers the front wheels, making it a 4WD machine where the petrol engine powers the rear wheels while the electric motor takes care of the front, a drastic change compared to its LMP1 predecessor. Toyota defended its Le Mans success in the new Hypercar class with the #7 Toyota Gazoo Racing car emerging as the winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans for two years, making it its fifth win in a row.
9) Toyota TS050 - In the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans, being the only manufacturer-backed LMP1 racer competing in its class, the #8 Toyota Gazoo Racing TS050, piloted by Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso, Formula E driver Sebastien Buemi, and Kazuki Nakajima, made a historic victory at Le Mans, marking the second time a Japanese carmaker won Le Mans since the legendary Mazda 787B and the first time a Japanese driver became part of the Le Mans-winning team. In 2019 and 2020, with the latter being the final year for the LMP1 era, Toyota emerged victorious in Le Mans.
8) Jaguar XJR-9 - Built in collaboration between Jaguar and Tom Walkinshaw Racing, Jaguar's Group C competitor is powered by two V12 engines; a 7.0L for the WSPC and a 6.0L for IMSA GTP class. Both produce 760PS of power and 828Nm of torque, while mated to a 5-speed March/TWR manual gearbox, making the XJR-9 capable of hitting a 245mph top speed. A Silk Cut-sponsored Jaguar XJR-9 won the 1988 24 Hours of Le Mans with Jan Lammers, Johnny Dumfries, and Andy Wallace behind the wheel.
7) Peugeot 905 - The V10-powered Peugeot 905 cemented the French carmaker to the list of Le Mans winners when it won the legendary endurance race twice in 1992 and 1993.
6) Audi R18 TDi - The Audi R18 TDi is known as the only diesel-powered racing machine that conquered Le Mans three times from 2012 to 2014. Not only that, it has dominated two WEC championship titles from 2012 to 2013. Such achievement proves that diesel is king until dieselgate came and most carmakers are ditching diesel-powered engines for good.
5) 919 Hybrid - In 2014, Porsche returned to LMP1 endurance racing with their 919 Hybrid and although it didn't fare well in its first run, which led to its 3rd place finish at the constructor's championship at the 2014 WEC season, it came back with a much fighting chance and because of such will power, it managed to win not just Le Mans but also three WEC seasons on the trot from 2015 to 2017. Porsche has left the LMP1 racing program after their three-win streak with the 919, only to make a comeback in the Hypercar class with the 963 racing machine.
4) Sauber-Mercedes C9 - As part of the Sauber-Mercedes partnership, this Group C prototype was introduced in 1987 and its first success can be traced back to the 1989 24 Hours of Le Mans, where the #63 C9 driven by Jochen Mass, Manual Reuter, and Stanley Dickens, achieved a win. During qualifying for Le Mans, the C9, with its Mercedes-Benz M119 HL 90º 5.0L Turbo V8 engine with two KKK turbos, achieved a top speed of 248.0 mph (400 km/h) at the Mulsanne Straight of Le Mans.
3) 917K - The Porsche 917K is known as the short-tail version of the legendary 917, a sports prototype race car, and it gave Porsche their first overall wins at Le Mans for two straight years since 1970. Thanks to such success, it even gained a starring role in the Le Mans movie starring Steve McQueen.
2) 787B - Built as an improved version of the 787, it features the same R26B 4-rotor Wankel engine as its predecessor which produces up to 690HP of power. Aside from that, it features carbon-fiber bodywork which resulted in a light, rigid body structure and other improvements. In the 1991 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race, Mazda sent two 787B machines with the race-winning #55 car driven by Bertrand Gachot, Johnny Herbert, and Volker Weider. The 787B not only became the first Japanese-manufactured race car to win Le Mans, but it's also the first-and-only rotary-powered race car to win the said endurance race.
1) GT40 Mk. II - Ford's trial-and-error process of creating a racing machine that can crush Ferrari in Le Mans is nothing more of an act of revenge from the Blue Oval following Ferrari's rejection to become part of the Ford empire. Armed with the 7.0L V8 engine producing 485HP of power and mated to a 4-speed gearbox, the GT40 Mk.II from Ford delivered a stunning podium sweep at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans race, more than enough to crush Ferrari into it. Such achievement has been profiled in the biopic movie Ford vs. Ferrari.
In this centennial running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, will it be a milestone for Toyota Gazoo as it's seeking a three-peat in the Hypercar class? Will the return of Ferrari in Le Mans crush Toyota's dreams for a three-peat? Find out as this legendary endurance race unfolds this Saturday, June 10th. Don't miss it!

Guide to F1 Part 3: Teams (22/11/2007)
Warning! Long entry alert!
Context: As part of the three-part series for rookies, I went into something of a classification of teams, along with the purpose of each type. The purpose of each category has changed little. Who is on each has not. Now, the classification is:
Manufacturer A-teams: Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes, Alpine (until the end of 2025), Audi (from 2026), Aston Martin. Manufacturer B-teams: None currently. Alfa Romeo (mid-2016-2023) was somewhere between this and "Corporate A-team".
Corporate A-teams: Red Bull, Alpine (from 2026), Sauber (until the end of 2025), Williams, Haas. Between 2008 and 2023, there was also 1Malaysia/Lotus/Caterham (2010-2014), Virgin (2010)/Marussia (2011-2015 - Marussia claimed to also be a car manufacturer but the nearest it got to actually making a car was the one in computer game "Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012)")
Corporate B-teams: Alpha Tauri.
Privateers: None currently. Teams that have been privateers after this point but no longer are: McLaren (until Bahrain's Mumtalakat fund fully took it over on 22 March 2024), Williams (until it was sold to Dorilton in 2019), Hispania/HRT (2010-2012), Manor (2015-2016, after it was rescued from administration by John Booth and Graeme Lowden, then sold to Stephen Fitzpatrick), Sauber (from 2010 when Peter Sauber re-purchased the team he founded from BMW, until it was sold to Longbow Finance in mid-2016). F1 did not take my argument about the importance of privateers seriously (which did not surprise me - apart from anything else, I argued it on a blog rather than, for instance, to Bernie Ecclestone's face).
In Formula 1, there are a number of teams (currently 11 or 12, depending on whether you believe Prodrive will make it onto the grid). Each team has a different approach to racing and therefore its own group of supporters. In this part of the guide, I intend to give a description of what each key category of team is like.
Manufacturer A-teams
Current member(s) of this group: Renault, Honda, Toyota, BMW, Ferrari, McLaren*
These teams currently form the core of F1's teams. They aren't really in it for the racing, they're there because they want to increase the sales and/or profile of their cars.
Manufacturers come and go according to how F1 fits into their plans. On most occasions, they supplied works engines with perhaps one or two manufacturers trying F1 as a whole-team effort at a time.
The exception to this rule is Ferrari - in fact it is the exception to a lot of rules one might make about manufacturers. It's the only team to have been there since F1's inception in 1950. It is also the only manufacturer that didn't start off as a manufacturer. Enzo Ferrari only started to make and sell road cars in order to finance his team's motor sport activities. All other manufacturers are car salespeople first, racers second.
The manufacturers' current simultaneous occupancy of F1 began in 1999 with Honda's aborted attempt to enter F1 as its own team. Then Jaguar bought the Stewart privateer team, Renault bought Benetton (a corporate team which had itself bought privateer team Toleman in 1986) and Toyota created a new team from scratch. Honda eventually joined in when it bought corporate team BAR at the end of 2005, at the same time as BMW bought privateer team Sauber.
However, their participation has not been without tension. In 2004, they threatened to create a splinter series to satisfy their ambitions (in reality these were to deprive Bernie of some of his income and to get themselves out from under some of the more onerous engine rules - actions they thought suited their bottom lines). This failed, but the three years of arguments it took for the FIA and Bernie to subdue the series made for an ugly political atmosphere.
In case you're wondering, I've asterisked McLaren because it is partly owned by a manufacturer (Mercedes) and partly by private individuals who are in it for the racing (chief among them being Ron Dennis). Therefore McLaren is unique in straddling the privateer and manufacturer categories.
Manufacturer B-teams
Current member(s) of this group: Super Aguri
This is a new concept in a sense, for Super Aguri represents the first time a manufacturer has had two works teams. However, it used to be very common for a team that designed its own cars to sell some to smaller teams. The first race of 1970, for instance, featured five March cars.
Super Aguri was started from scratch in twelve weeks flat at the end of 2005. While its initial purpose was to save face over the dismissal of Takuma Sato (a fast driver, but rather erratic at the time), it has also caused quite a stir. This year, the B-team was faster than the Honda A-team for most of the season.
Apart from the risk of being embarrassed by the B-team, the A-team runs other risks. Resourcing a B-team effectively is very expensive, which is why B-teams could only be done properly during a time of financial plenty such as the current one. In leaner times, it is also the first thing to lose its resources - as Super Aguri found out when Honda was suddenly reluctant to let it have the front wings it wanted for Spa 2007…
There is controversy attached to the B-team concept, too. In the current version of the concept, it requires that the A-team gives the B-team a customer car. That is to say, the B-team doesn't design the car - the A-team does. Some teams think it's very important that all teams in F1 design their own cars for reasons of sporting purity. Other teams disagree, and argue that customer cars would save money for the poorer teams that need that sort of help the most. It doesn't help that the current regulations are ambiguous about this point.
Corporate teams
Current member(s) of this group: Red Bull, Toro Rosso, Force India
These are teams run by organisations that are not racing teams, but not car manufacturers either. They share with the manufacturers the goal of improving the sales and/or profile of their products. However, their efforts are more blatantly marketeering-based, since there is no possibility of developing things relevant to their core product in F1, something that some manufacturers assert they do while in F1. While this is historically based on truth (particularly for Ferrari and other sports car manufacturers), nowadays the road-relevance effect is more limited, even if Max Mosley claims his current rules will change that.
The current batch of corporate teams are all fairly recent. At the end of 2004, Jaguar was bought by Red Bull. The year after that, Red Bull also bought Minardi, which they named Toro Rosso (because that's Italian for Red Bull and Minardi are based in Faenza, Italy). Force India is the newest name in F1, arising because Vijay Mallya, a prominent Indian businessman, bought Spyker in September 2007.
Force India are the only team on the grid to have been a privateer (Jordan), a manufacturer (Spyker) and a corporate team (twice - Midland and Force India). If you get the impression that its ownership has been slightly unstable in the recent past, you'd be right.
Privateers
Current member(s) of this group: McLaren*, Williams, Prodrive (if it gets into F1 this year)
The traditional core of F1 and motor sport in general, the privateers are sadly not as numerous as they once were. Formula 1 costs got completely crazy in the last 20 years. It is no coincidence that McLaren and Williams were founded in 1978 and 1980 respectively. Prodrive isn't on the grid yet, but in theory it should be. In theory…
Privateers are absolutely necessary because they are the only category of team that stick it out in F1 through thick and thin. Such teams are still the mainstay of many other series, and yet F1 has been oddly lukewarm about them of late.
The rate of F1 inflation is ridiculous, and has been for a while. Since privateers are dependent on sponsors to fund their efforts, they are the first to feel the effects when F1 gets too expensive for its own good. When the manufacturers entered F1 en masse as full team efforts in the early 2000s, their boards were able to finance their teams to a great extent. Also, their international corporate cachet was far more attractive to sponsors than motorsport-only privateer squads. This led to a polarisation of sponsorship funding. There was much talk about making F1 a friendlier place for privateers, but nothing meaningful was done. As a result, nearly all the privateers have gone bust or been obliged to sell out.
You may have noticed from the previous sections that the vast majority of the teams began as privateers. The privateers were traditionally the ones that gave new drivers and engineers their start in the F1 world. They would then (often) be given money by the larger teams and manufacturers in return for them moving up the ladder. Then they were the roots from which manufacturers could develop their campaigns. Now that there are so few privateers left, and little sign that the powers-that-be realise how important they are to F1's well-being, it is unclear what will underpin F1's future.

CNG Vehicles
The CNG Vehicles market, estimated at over US$ 1,459 million in 2019, is poised to exhibit a robust Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 4.7% from 2018 to 2028. With more than 25.8 million natural gas-powered vehicles globally in 2018, the market is gaining traction due to its high mileage, clean transportation attributes, and equivalence in horsepower and cruise speed to conventional vehicles.
To read more about the topic please visit site: https://bekryl.com/industry-trends/cng-vehicles-market-share-analysis
Key Trends and Factors Driving the Global CNG Vehicles Market Revenue
The global demand for CNG vehicles is fueled by depleting oil reserves, a governmental push towards sustainable development, and rising gasoline prices, which have diminished the appeal of conventional vehicles. Stringent regulations and tax incentives, such as the extension of tax credits for CNG vehicles in the U.S. state of Oklahoma and a proposed 50% reduction in road tax for new CNG vehicles in Delhi, India, further boost sales.
Companies are expanding their CNG vehicle fleets, with Blue Bird launching a Type-C school bus fueled by CNG. In the U.S., over 7,000 CNG buses operate in approximately 150 districts, highlighting the lower operational cost and increasing demand for CNG.
Light CNG Vehicles to Dominate the Global Sales
Lightweight vehicles dominated the global CNG vehicles market in 2018, accounting for 73% share, and are expected to maintain this dominance throughout the forecast period. The segment's growth is attributed to increased sales of per-passenger vehicles, rising per capita spending, and climate awareness. Heavy-duty vehicles, such as buses and trucks, are expected to witness relatively slower growth due to the emphasis on electric buses and trucks globally.
Global CNG Vehicles Market Size and Forecast: Regional Analysis
Asia Pacific led the global CNG vehicles market in 2018, with a 31% market share. China, India, and Pakistan are driving growth in the region. In India, government policies have created a favorable environment for CNG vehicle players, with an anticipated half of new vehicle sales being CNG-based by 2030. The Middle East follows, with Iran dominating regional sales in 2018. Iran actively supports CNG vehicles, with over 3.5 million CNG vehicles on the road and initiatives promoting sustainable development.
Global CNG Vehicles Market Size and Forecast: Competition Landscape
CNG vehicles are operational in 86 countries, with over 73 vehicle manufacturers investing in CNG/LNG vehicle production. Major players include General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai Motor Company, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW), Audi AG, Volkswagen Group, Iran Khodro, Škoda Auto, Peugeot, and Volvo Group.

Post 4 - Porsche’s SWOT Analysis
Strength- Porsche provides their customers with a large variety of vehicles, ranging from luxury sports cars, SUV’s and including sedans. They’re known to have good reputation and overall brand image due to their cars using quality product and technology to set out to create the quality and luxury many have the dream to one day own or drive. Most individuals they target are sports car enthusiasts who are able to afford and a maintain a Porsche vehicle, they need to make minimum of 6 figures or more, but also many of these consumers are loyal customers who haves set out to purchase such car. Cliental being very important to a company, however the employee aspect with these projects is key as well, they consist of having 12,000 employees, who have high productivity rate, and are setting out to grow Porsche by creating new projects.
Weakness- Many dream of owning a Porsche or to be given the opportunity to do so, including myself, however not everyone is able to, due to the fact that they are very expensive. The price of the vehicle reflects the quality of what you are driving with this company. Not only is purchasing the car pricey, but being able to take care of the maintenance is also very high. They also don’t have a very high demand due to their prices which is keeping many cars in house.
Opportunities- Porsche has the opportunity to expand their type of fuel for their cars, with new environmental policies taking place. New cars are being made such as the Taycan which is a electric powered Sedan. They’re being given the opportunity to expand and to dive into new markets. Also with digital technology expanding, they are being given the opportunity to incorporated and higher the quality of their vehicles.
Threat- many of Porsche’s competitors such as Audi and BMW are shifting possible clients attention away from Porsche’s vehicles and are creating new innovative vehicles. The Range Rover Evoque is one of the most popular luxury compact SUVs on the market, offering a stylish design, a refined interior, and a range of advanced features. But what can we expect from the Evoque in 2024? Will it undergo any major changes or updates? Here are some of the possible scenarios for the future of the Evoque.
A Minor Facelift
One possibility is that the Evoque will receive a minor facelift in 2024, similar to what it got in 2019. This could include some cosmetic tweaks to the exterior, such as new LED headlights, revised bumpers, and new wheel designs. The interior could also get some upgrades, such as new upholstery options, an improved infotainment system, and more driver assistance technologies. The engine lineup could remain unchanged or receive some minor improvements in performance and efficiency.
A Major Redesign
Another possibility is that the Evoque will undergo a major redesign in 2024, following the typical seven-year cycle of Land Rover models. This could mean a completely new platform, a new body style, and a new look for the Evoque. The new platform could be lighter and stiffer, improving the handling and ride quality of the SUV. The new body style could be more spacious and practical, offering more room for passengers and cargo. The new look could be more modern and sleek, reflecting the latest trends in design and technology. The engine lineup could also change significantly, introducing new hybrid and electric options for the Evoque.
Advanced Technology
In the age of smart vehicles, the Range Rover Evoque is anticipated to incorporate state-of-the-art technology. Enthusiasts can look forward to an upgraded infotainment system, cutting-edge driver-assistance features, and seamless smartphone integration. Expect the Evoque to raise the bar in terms of connectivity, making every drive not just comfortable but also highly interactive.
Performance Upgrades
Car enthusiasts are always keen on improved performance, and the Evoque is expected to deliver. Enhanced engine options, superior handling, and adaptive suspension systems are on the horizon. Whether you're cruising on highways or tackling challenging terrains, the 2024 Evoque is projected to offer an exhilarating driving experience.
Safety Features
Safety remains a paramount concern for car buyers, and Land Rover understands this well. The 2024 Evoque is anticipated to come equipped with advanced safety features, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, and 360-degree cameras. These elements improve driving enjoyment overall in addition to increasing safety.
A discontinuation
A third possibility is that the Evoque will be discontinued in 2024, ending its production after more than a decade. This could happen if Land Rover decides to focus on other models in its portfolio, such as the Discovery Sport, the Velar, or the Defender. The Evoque could also face increased competition from other luxury compact SUVs, such as the Audi Q3, the BMW X1, or the Mercedes-Benz GLA. The discontinuation of the Evoque could leave a gap in Land Rover's lineup but also create an opportunity for a new model to emerge.

Pothole damage from electric cars is double that of petrol, Telegraph data show
Electric cars damage roads twice as much as their petrol equivalents, analysis has shown, as the pothole crisis grows on Britain’s roads.
Analysis by The Telegraph has found that the average electric car more than doubles the wear on road surfaces, which in turn could increase the number of potholes.
The country is suffering from a pothole crisis, with half as many filled last year compared to a decade ago amid an estimated £12 billion price tag to fill them all.
Road industry bodies have raised fears that electric cars could exacerbate the problem on residential roads. The number of electric cars being driven has tripled to 900,000 since 2019 ahead of the Government’s 2030 ban on sales of new petrol and diesel cars as part of its net zero drive.
As many as four in five miles could be driven by electric cars by 2035, according to estimates by the Department for Transport.
The Telegraph found that the average electric car puts 2.24 times more stress on roads than its petrol equivalent, and 1.95 more than diesel. Larger electric vehicles weighing over 2,000kg (2 tons) cause the most damage, with 2.32 times more wear applied to roads.
Such stress on roads causes greater movement of asphalt, which can create small cracks. If these are not fixed, then these expand and eventually develop into potholes.
The Telegraph used analysis led by the University of Leeds which assessed the weights of 15 popular electric car models alongside their petrol equivalents.
Researchers divided them by size, including small electric cars weighing over 1,000kg, such as the BMW Mini Cooper SE 3 Door and Peugeot e208, medium models over 1,500kg such as the Ford Focus Electric and Vauxhall Corsa-e, and larger vehicles including the Jaguar I- pace EV and Audi e-tron 50 Quattro.
They found that the electric vehicles were on average 312kg heavier than similar petrol versions. This is because they must carry heavy batteries, which can weigh up to 500kg.
