What a gods damn day.  Rowan had never really been punished since coming back to the Institute as a slave.  Hells, she hadn’t even as a Mistress, wise enough to steer as far clear of stuff like this as possible.  But no beuno today.  At the very least it was nice to be wearing clothes again; she never thought she’d be grateful to see the cells.  But she was.  The human would have guessed the whole song and dance was done if she didn’t still see some Masters and Mistresses in the basement in similar predicaments.  They weren’t done with this show, awesome.

The last thing she wanted to do was focus on that, however.  So when she noticed Atticus nearby, she had no issues whatsoever with sliding down the wall and sitting next to him.  If there was one thing they had in common other than their friends, it was their propensity of deflecting with humor.  “Shocking, right?  The school punishing people for nothing.  Next thing you know they’ll bring slavery back - oh wait.”

mere months ago she would have done almost anything to be alone with atticus astor but since arriving in new york she had done nothing but attempt to make that impossible. from entangling them in conversations where they could not grasp at a moment alone, to simply avoiding him all together and disappearing into crowds, or excusing herself just as someone had entrapped him. it had worked for the most part, the pair of them barely exchanging more than a handful of exchanges in the weeks she had been in the city. but she grows complacent, too keen to rid herself of a particularly tedious conversation she retreats to a too quiet part of the house only to find she is not alone for long.

for a moment she thinks to pretend she did not see him, pretend that she had not been acutely aware of his presence throughout the whole day. but feigning ignorance was not a solution to her problem, continually ignoring him would surely only draw whispers and gossip. so her eyes meet his, a brief fleeting glance despite the way her heart begs her eyes to linger. "mister astor." the curt greeting felt heavy on her tongue, so used to a nickname falling from her lips fondly instead the entirety of his name felt as though she was greeting a stranger. but that was the effect she had convinced herself she desired, distance carved between them to force him away as she ignored the part of her that only wished to pull him close.

There hadn't been a single time where Atticus ended up in bed with Mason and didn't leave completely satisfied, and this time was completely in the norm. He quietly sighs as his boyfriend asks about his family, and as he goes to respond, he's taken with the overwhelming urge to kiss him again. So he does, hand against Mason's cheek as he kisses him, slowly and deeply. “ What were we talking about again? ” He laughs, then falls back on the bed and covers his face with his other hand. “ Right. My parents. Got it. ” Atticus props himself up onto his elbow, staring down at his boyfriend as he tries to think of how to describe them. “ They're very . . . passionate. They always supported me, even if they didn't really understand it. ” They still didn't believe him or what he wrote, but that was okay. Atticus might be a little more upset if he were still writing like he was before, but he was content with this life with Mason.

And speaking of his life with Mason, he asks about marriage, and it makes his cheeks turn equally red. He meant what he'd said, every word. Despite what Atticus had done for work before, this was somehow even scarier. Maybe it was because of how vulnerable he felt admitting that he wanted to get married. Maybe it was because he knew Mason felt the exact same. He runs his free hand through his boyfriend's hair and starts to smile before he nods, something quick before he can start talking. “ I did, yeah. I mean it so much, I'll tell you again. ” He leans forward, smiling even wider as he punctuates each word with a kiss. “ I'm. Going. To. Marry. You. One. Day. Mason. Greene. ” At the final word, he leans further into the kiss, but breaks it as he starts to laugh. “ I've wanted to say that for so long. Does that mean you want to marry me too? ”

it   was   an   evening   of   bliss   full   of   gentle   touches   &   loving   caresses   as   they   took   their   time   to   love   one   another   &   become   one   ,   chasing   that   high   together   until   they   finally   fell   back   into   the   bed   in   a   tired   heap.   the   sheets   were   undone   &   their   clothes   were   scattered   across   the   floor   ,   but   cleanliness   was   the   last   thing   on   their   minds   as   they   hurry   to   curl   into   one   another   once   again   ,   soaking   in   the   afterglow   together   as   they   wait   for   their   heartbeats   to   settle   into   a   steady   pace.   mason   still   can't   believe   he's   going   to   be   in   australia   with   atticus   soon.   he's   truly   never   traveled   outside   of   the   country   before   &   he's   admittedly   a   little   scared   of   the   idea   simply   because   it's   such   foreign concept to him.   but   he   knows   he's   in   good   hands   if   he   has   atticus   at   his   side   to   guide   him   ,   &   who   knows   ?   maybe   in   the   long   run   ,   he'll   end   up   getting   addicted   to   travel ,   &   heading   to   australia   is   just   opening   the   door   to   many   more   places   they   can   visit   together.

curled   up   at   his   side   ,   mason   gently   caresses   atticus'   chest   absentmindedly   as   he   looks   up   at   him   ,   happy   to   enjoy   the   silence   they   share   all   while   admiring   his   lover.   his   brain   is   still   a   bit   scrambled   from   their   earlier   activities   ,   but   once   he's   finally   able   to   relax   &   focus   on   his thoughts   ,   he   leans   in   to   kiss   him   gently   ,   still   unable   to   stop   touching   him   as   he   speaks.   ❝   what   are   your   parents   like   ?   ❞   it's   a   little   out   of   the   blue   ,   but   maybe   not   by   too   much   since   they   were   just   talking   about   meeting   them   before   they   got   .   .   .   distracted.   ❝   i   bet   you   had   such   a   nice   upbringing   &   the   best   childhood.   did   they   always   support   you   wanting   to   be   a   journalist   ?   ❞   mason   pauses   ,   cheeks   reddening   as   he   changes   the   subject   again   ,   but   for   good   reason.   ❝   did   .   .   .   did   you   mean   it   when   you   said   you   would   marry   me   one   day   ?   ❞

Naranja/Uva Academy Students (birthday headcanons)

Okay, so since I have a notebook that I've been taking some notes on for Pokemon Scarlet/Violet (mostly "Violet" for me) to get ready for it (especially the Mid-Term and Finals). And I couldn't help but hypothesize about the students (including the Team Star members) about their birthdays by using the dates of their special interests. [Florian/Juliana's birthday is my birthday since the Playable Protagonist's birthday mirrors the player's birthday, so they're excluded from this hypothesis. (this also includes their special interests)] [Mela's birthday was a bit of a challenge due to not having the game yet (I planned on buying it for my birthday).]

1.) Florian/Juliana - October 12th Special Interest: Taking notes. This is non-explanatory, but it's also what I've been doing to get these pieces of information.

2.) Nemona - February 27th Special Interest: Pokemon battles. According to the real-life timeline of Pokemon, the first Pokemon game (Pokemon Red) made its first debut in Japan on February 27, 1996. In chronological order, it was the game, trading cards, manga, and anime.

3.) Arven - December 29th Special Interest: Making sandwiches. Due to the shape/size of the bread, I assumed that it would be "Subway bread", but due to the location of Paldea and its real-life equivalent of it (Spain, Portugal, and Andorra), it wouldn't make sense historically. So, I had to do some research on the Sandwich (which is based on the Bocatas or "bocadillo") and it was a little touch and go for a while, but I thankfully narrowed it down... According to legend, a general named Tomás de Zumalacárregui (12/29/1788-6/24/1835) invented the tortilla de patatas during the Carlist wars. When the bread was added, the bocadillo was born!

4.) Penny - February 14th Special Interest: Machines/computers. According to Penn Today (no pun intended), the world's first general-purpose electronic computer was introduced into the world on February 14, 1946.

5. ) Giacomo - December 15th Special Interest: Music, Rock (DJ) Albert James "Alan" Freed (12/15/1921-01/20/1965) was an American disc jockey (DJ) who helped spread the importance of rock and roll music throughout North America.

6.) Mela - September 23rd Special Interest: Flashy costumes. So, here's the reason why this was a challenge; there were no specific dates on when "flashy costumes/outfits" were a thing. So, I had to look a bit deeper at her attire for easy clues. Luckily, there's her boot! More specifically, her "over-the-knee boots". In the Autumn of 1962, Balenciaga had a collection that featured "a tall boot by Mancini that covers the knee". To get the month and day, I had to look up the Autumnal Equinox of that year.

7.) Atticus - November 16th Special Interest: Vintage. This was a little bit of a challenge like Mela's. But after digging, I came across the one article of clothing was that known as the birth of vintage... The raccoon coat. More specifically, the issue of The Saturday Evening Post featured an illustration of several college men sporting raccoon coats on 11/16/1929.

8.) Ortega - January 19th Special Interest: Engineer/Mechanic. Okay, so before I read about Ortega being a mechanic/engineer for the Ruchbah Squad, at first I thought that his thing was Fairycore. Ever since, after a little bit of research, the man named James Watt (01/19/1736-8/25/1819) was a Scottish inventor and mechanical engineer.

9.) Eri - February 12th Special Interest: Wrestling. Okay, so this may contain a pun, but it's a part of Japanese history. John Graham Chambers endeavored to introduce and promote the concept of a style of wrestling that he denominated "the catch-as-catch-can style" of wrestling (aka Catch Wrestling or "Professional Wrestling").

“new,” lars huffed. his legs, weaker than they’d previously been, buckled onto their knees as he tried for a step forward. he caught the wood of the doorframe to steady himself. the material quickly began freezing under his touch, a rapid unfurling of frost. “c-cold,” the words quavered out. “blanket. need a- need a blanket.”  

it felt like the demigods never had a moments peace, there seemed to be a new quest every single day and atticus was starting to feel a bit overwhelmed by everything. one day he was gettin getting stabbed by vampires, the next day a medusa blinded him, and the day after that romeo was almost killing himself to try and get answers for yet another quest. he wished they could just relax and unwind somewhere for a few days, process everything that was happening before they jumped back into the fray.

the knocking got more frantic and louder, atticus didn't recognize the voice. nobody could have gotten into the camp who wasn't allowed, so he hesitantly opened the door. whoever this was seemed to know xanthe, that was promising at least. right? "i'm sorry," he looked confused. "xanthe doesn't live here, she's on the otherside of the camp." the godling tried to keep his eyes on that handsome face, though his eyes did wander a few times to see that muscular physique. "are you a demigod? i've never seen you here."

The twins continued to grow, and started to become more mobile. While it was great for the sake of their development, it was not so great for the cats. 

Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde had always gotten on well, but with less territory to claim as their own, had begun to fight frequently. As the fights became more severe, Winifred worried for the safety of her precious cats, and the babies, as well.

With their third child now on the way, who they planned to name Atticus Dorian, it became more obvious than ever that it was time to relocate to a bigger home.

Today was my Gotcha' Day!

My owner brought me home after seeing me hanging out with a bunch of other plushies at work! They named me Atticus, then we took a ride in their big blue car!

I wonder what kind of adventures we'll go on?

What collaboration would you most like to see?

What collaboration would you most like to see? Not just "list your two favorite artists", but whose styles or creative inclinations would most complement each other to make something new and exciting?Personally I could die happy if Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross produced a Taylor Swift album. (A bit ala Halsey's "if I can't have love".) Her dark tendencies are the most interesting for me and TTPD explores some dark themes (obsession, sanity) that Reznor could really REZonate (ha!) with. Winter River had some fascinating stories that come from it for such a small town, he couldn't resist even taking a quick peek. And small it was — everyone knew everyone it seemed, there was a giant house on the hill that set a spooky tone over the entire town, which meant it was exactly Atticus' speed. It would be perfect, except for the fact it seemed like his motel needed a few . . . adjustments. The way the front - desk man talked to him at check - in, though, didn't inspire much confidence in his ability to fix a door that was half - off its hinges. So into town he went, looking for the closest hardware store he could find.

The woman working there is beautiful, something he wasn't expecting walking in. Atticus was expecting someone more on the level of the man outside who couldn't stop rambling about, surprisingly, the most recent thing he'd posted about. He had a fan, it seemed. “ Atticus, yeah. That's me. ” He nods, laughing as he crosses his arms. “ Don't mind the lack of fangirling. I actually like it. ” It helps him get his work done, especially with no prying eyes asking what he's doing. He's not working right now, though, not for his living, at least. He just needs a screwdriver.

“ No ghosts in here. Besides, I'm more interested in that house on the hill up there. ” He motions to it briefly, then looks around before settling on her. “ And more than that, I'm interested in buying a screwdriver. Got a loose door on my current dwelling and I have a feeling whoever runs it isn't particularly handy. ” Not like he was either — but he knew how to use a screwdriver. “ Can you show me where I can find one? ”

❝   if   you're   here   to   look   for   some   ghosts   ,   i'm   afraid   you're   out   of   luck.   ❞   barbara   smiles   at   the   tall   gentleman   who's   caused   quite   a   stir   in   the   town   of   winter   river , a little surprised that she's managed to cross paths with him in her hardware store.   there's   always   been   an   aura   of   darkness   that   has   hovered   over   the   town for as long as she can remember , but   it   hasn't   been   enough   to   convince   many   residents   of   the   presence   of   actual ghosts or whatever else might be out there.   barbara   wants   to   believe   in   the   possibility   ,   but   she   hasn't   really   had   a   chance   to   really   consider   it. her   husband   has long   since   departed   from   this   world , leaving   her   on   her   own   to   tend   to   the   hardware   store   they   opened   together.   if   ghosts   were   a   thing   ,   wouldn't   he   have   tried   to   reach   her   ?   she   pushes   the   thought   out   of   her   mind   ,   focusing   now   on   the   stranger   before   her   ,   confident   that   he's   not   here   looking   to   repair   something   in   his   home.

❝   i   doubt   many   ghosts   would   want   to   haunt   a   hardware   store.   not   unless   they   were   involved   in   some   freak   DIY   project.   ❞   she   chuckles   ,   leaning   against   the   counter   as   she   takes   in   the   stranger now that he's approached closer.   despite   not   being   from   here   ,   atticus   levy   looked   like   he   could   pass   for   a   winter   river   resident.   she's   not   sure   why   she   gets   that   feeling from him   ,   but   it's   strangely   welcoming   &   it   endears   her   to   him.   ❝   atticus   levy   ,   right   ?   i   know   your   name   ,   only   because   bill   the   barber   next   door   won't   stop   talking   about   you.   ❞   she   grins.   ❝   can't   say   i've   read   any   of   your   work , though.   here   in   this   hardware   store   ,   you're   just   a   regular   outsider   to   me   ,   so   sorry   if   i   don't   fangirl   over   you.   ❞
