dreamer!! my enviable nemesis! if you ever get around to akiba don't fall for the prices of weeb shit just because the place gets frequently memed as the otaku heaven (I felt cringe writing that) (although you can find some really cool stuff if you scavenge for hours). nakano broadway has much cheaper options, several stores of mandarake including one for tokusatsu if you're into that and extremely niche/old media collectible stores. mind you akiba does have some cool spots including a yet another mandarake (a tad pricier than nakano), but nakano is very accessible from shinjuku while it's a pain to get to akiba. I haven't been there in several years though so you might want to check before you go.
I had a worse time of it in harajuku with its tourist traps than in after dark kabukicho and ginza (occasional guys/hosts approaching with "oneesan hitori?" and being weird) but your mileage as a tourist man may vary. also some other well-known shrines accessible from shinjuku: kumano-jinja where you can see shinjuku skyscrapers from inside the shrine, meiji jingu (walking distance from harajuku, big and also probably very crowded), hiei near roppongi, you can see the skytree from inside zojo-ji shrine but my opinion of the skytree is that it's a bit of a tourist trap. you can get to yokohama easily and get on the cosmo clock ferris wheel after dark for a nice city view.
enjoy the hellish mazes of shinjuku station! a friend of mine couldn't find her way out once and had a panic attack in it!
Dude I had NO clue you had Newtype headass precognitive powers, you sent this to me as we were arriving at Akihabara lmao, you just KNEW.
We checked Mandarake at your recommendation and it was dope, and we’ll be going to Nakano Brodowei upon returning to Tokyo so THANKS for that, you’re still my ENEMY and will go to hell before you die BUT I’ll get you the VIP seat for demons with abs.
And Shinjuku station is like an actual dungeon, at least for the Oedo line, you DESCEND to the earth’s core, wtf. Shibuya station, however, is a bona fide Shin Megami Tensei dungeon.

John Russell at LGBTQ Nation:
Kirk Cameron went on an unhinged rant this week, claiming that public schools turn kids into drag queens, strippers, and drug dealers. The former teen actor and anti-LGBTQ+ Christian author and advocate joined Conservative Christian author Elizabeth Johnston on her eponymous podcast Tuesday to talk about the so-called “woke mind virus” and its “radical attack on family values.” During their conversation, Cameron whined about allegedly being denied the opportunity to promote his Christian children’s books at more than 50 libraries across the U.S. in 2022, and claimed that America’s founders “hated the idea of a democracy.” Johnston went on to ask Cameron about his crusade to “expose” children’s book publisher Scholastic Books’ supposed “agenda to sexualize our children.” Late last year, the actor announced a partnership with SkyTree Book Fairs, a recently launched 501c3 not-for-profit organization that aims to provide an alternative to Scholastic Book Fairs, which it has characterized as promoting “sexualized content.”
As Book Riot noted in November, the emergence of SkyTree roughly coincided with the disappearance from the website of Cameron’s for-profit publisher Brave Books of information about booking its own book fairs, and former Brave Books head of finance and administration Riley Lee now serves as SkyTree’s head of book fairs. Brave Books has also promoted SkyTree Book Fairs via its social media accounts, and according to Texas Freedom to Read co-founder Frank Strong, SkyTree “appears to be primarily a distribution vehicle for Brave Books.” While Cameron has previously accused Scholastic of “pushing sexualized and gender-confusing content for minors into schools and libraries,” on Johnston’s show, he declined to talk about Scholastic beyond calling the publisher “wicked,” instead launching into a bizarre attack on public schools.
“What I think is more productive is to say, ‘What are we doing to contribute to the demoralization of our children and the disintegration of our culture,” Cameron said, positing that across the country, “Parents are complaining that their girls are coming home strippers and their boys are drug dealers.” “And then we find out, well, how is this happening? Well, all of us are paying to send them to schools that teach them how to be strippers and drug dealers,” he added without evidence. “We’re sending our kids to public schools where they’re learning how to hate God, they’re learning how to hate the country, they’re learning how to adopt a set of values that calls good evil and evil good, and boys can be girls and girls can be boys.”
Far-right has-been actor Kirk Cameron went on Elizabeth Johnston’s podcast this week to whine about public schools by insinuating that schools train kids to be “Marxists, little statists, little atheists, drag queens, strippers, drug dealers…”

Plot summary of "Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning!"
digimon fandom deleted my plot summary of "Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning. So I'm posting it here
Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning
In February 2012, a giant, shiny egg appears above the Tokyo Skytree. At the same time, people all around the world receive a message stating that "everyone is going to have friends, everyone is going to have a Digimon".
On February 28th, 2012, Davis Motomiya and Veemon invite the other Digimon Adventure 02 protagonists and their Digimon to a meal at the ramen bar where they work. There they see a report on television about a young man having climbed up the Skytree to talk with the giant egg. They head there, just in time for the Digimon to catch said guy, who had fallen off. He introduces himself as Lui Ohwada and claims to have been the first child with a Digimon partner. While he shows them his broken Digivice, the kids wonder why he is not accompanied by a Digimon partner. He refuses to give them an answer, but asks them to destroy the giant egg on his behalf, to which they agree. Davis and Ken use Paildramon to fly towards the egg, together with Rui, and attack it, but are unsuccessful. Instead, they fall off Paildramon and right into the egg.
When regaining consciousness, they discover that they have travelled back in time to February 29th, 1996. They see a young Rui, who had birthday that day. Rather than celebrating, he is seen growing up unhappily, with a comatose father and an abusive mother, who locks him out on the balcony. There, a Digi-Egg appeared and hatched into Ukkomon. The Digimon promised Lui to make all his wishes come true, with adult Lui explaining that it had the actual power to do so. Young him had thereafter wished for a happy family life, and for himself and everyone in the world to have friends. Ukkomon had promised to make it come true by his next birthday.
The DigiDestined are thereafter returned to the present. They head towards their old school, where Lui explains what had happened subsequently. His father had awoken from his coma, and his mother had become friendlier towards him, with both of them accepting Ukkomon into the family. Furthermore, his wish had created a bond between Digimon and human children, whom had subsequently began meeting their Digimon partners, essentially setting the events of the Digimon Adventure universe in motion. As Lui had been happy on his next birthday in 2000, and more and more children became friends with Digimon, Ukkomon felt like it was fullfilling its promise.
However, in 2004, Lui became disillusioned, once he noticed that Ukkomon had robbed his parents and other children off their free will. He also realized that the bond between Digimon and humans was leading to fighting and destruction. In rage, he had destroyed his Digivice, damaging his eye in the process. Ukkomon replaced the eye with one of its own, but Lui had still felt dissatisfied, and expressed that he did not want Ukkomon in his life anymore. Feeling that it had lost its purpose, Ukkomon then regressed back into a Digiegg, along with leaving Lui's parents for dead. The Digiegg was identical to the one that now hovered above Tokyo Skytree.
Shortly after Lui finishes his story, the clock strikes twelve: It’s Lui’s birthday again. The giant Digiegg then transforms into a giant, shiny creature resembling Ukkomon, but equipped with far more tentacles. Each tentacle comes with a Digiegg attached, through which the children conclude that Ukkomon is attempting to give every human on the planet a Digimon partner over the course of the day. Worried that this would cause an insufferable amount of chaos, maybe even the world’s destruction, they agree to stop it. Lui urges the other Digidestined to kill Ukkomon, but they refuse, concluding that this might destroy the partnership between humans and Digimon for good. Instead, they convince him that Ukkomon merely wishes to reconcile, and that this is what Rui also should do.
To have Lui and Ukkomon meet, the Digidestined's Digimon evolve: First to Champion level, and then to their DNA Digivolved forms. Fighting the giant Ukkomon creature along the way, they manage to bring Lui to it, who then enters its body. Lui finds himself back on his birthday in 1996. He manages to create an oppertunity to speak with Ukkomon on his own, where they manage to speak out reconcile. However, Lui is told that Ukkomon's giant version in the present still needs to be destroyed.
Back in 2012, Lui informs the Digidestined of his success. Imperialdramon subsequently fights and manages to defeat the giant Ukkomon. Following the battle, Ukkomon’s normal sized Digiegg materializes back into Lui’s hand, who also loses his artificial eye. While he promises a fresh start for them, Digivices all around the world suddenly begin disappearing. The DigiDestined conclude that they have become a relic of the path, due to the fact that a strong partnership and will for conflict resolution alone are enough to maintain the bond between a Digimon and its human partner.

Tokyo🗼
Tokyo, is the capital of Japan and one of the most populous cities in the world with a population of over 14 million residents as of 2023. The Tokyo metropolitan area, which includes Tokyo and nearby prefectures, is the world's most-populous metropolitan area with 40.8 million residents as of 2023, and is the second-largest metropolitan economy in the world after New York, with a 2023 gross metropolitan product estimated at US$2 trillion.
Located at the head of Tokyo Bay, Tokyo is part of the Kantō region on the central coast of Honshu, Japan's largest island. Tokyo serves as Japan's economic center and the seat of both the Japanese government and the Emperor of Japan. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government administers Tokyo's central 23 special wards (which formerly made up Tokyo City), various commuter towns and suburbs in its western area, and two outlying island chains known as the Tokyo Islands. Despite most of the world knowing Tokyo as a city, since 1943 its governing structure has been more akin to a prefecture, with an accompanying Governor and Assembly taking precedence over the smaller municipal governments which make up the metropolis.
Prior to the 17th century, Tokyo was predominantly a fishing village and was named Edo. In 1603, however, the city ascended to political prominence after being named the seat of the Tokugawa shogunate. By the mid-18th century, Edo emerged as one of the world's most-populous cities with a population of over one million people. Following the Meiji Restoration in 1868, the imperial capital in Kyoto was moved to Edo, and the city was renamed Tokyo (lit. 'Eastern Capital'). In 1923, Tokyo was damaged substantially by the Great Kantō earthquake, and the city was later decimated by allied bombing raids during World War II in retaliation for Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor. Beginning in the mid-20th century, Tokyo underwent rapid reconstruction and expansion that contributed to the era's so-called Japanese economic miracle in which Japan's economy propelled to the second-largest in the world behind that of the United States. Tokyo is categorized as an Alpha+ city by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network and is part of an industrial region that includes Yokohama, Kawasaki, and Chiba. As of 2023, the city is home to 29 of the world's largest 500 companies listed in the annual Fortune Global 500.
In 2020, Tokyo ranked fourth on the Global Financial Centres Index behind New York City, London, and Shanghai. The city is home to the world's tallest tower, Tokyo Skytree, and the world's largest underground floodwater diversion facility, the Metropolitan Area Outer Underground Discharge Channel in Kasukabe, Saitama, a Tokyo suburb. The Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, which opened in 1927, is the oldest underground metro line in East Asia. Tokyo is recognized as one of the world's most livable cities; it was ranked fourth in the world in Global Livability Ranking, published in 2021.
In the 20th and 21st centuries, Tokyo has hosted several major international events, including the 1964 Summer Olympics and 1964 Summer Paralympics, the 2020 Summer Olympics, and three G7 summits in 1979, 1986, and 1993. Tokyo is an international research and development hub and an academic center with several major universities, including the University of Tokyo. Tokyo Station is the central hub for the Shinkansen, Japan's high-speed railway network, and Shinjuku Station in Tokyo is the world's busiest train station. Notable special wards in Tokyo include Chiyoda, the site of the National Diet Building and the Tokyo Imperial Palace, Shinjuku, the city's administrative center, and Shibuya, a commercial, cultural, and business hub in the city.

June 4: Tokyo Tower and Kabuki Theatre
Today we left the hotel a bit later to visit Tokyo Tower. After traveling to where the tower was, we split off for individual lunch and were able to explore the area around the tower.
Tokyo Tower is an important symbol in Japan because it represents post-war Japan rising from the ashes and once again becoming prosperous. The building itself was constructed to be a massive television tower so that less smaller towers would be needed in the city.
(Picture of Tokyo tower from the park with the killer bird which is mentioned later)
The top of the tower was incredibly scenic, and I really enjoyed being able to see so much of the city all at once. However if you are looking for the best view in Tokyo, I would wholly recommend the Skytree which is even taller.
After some time at the tower’s top, I opted to walk down the stairs instead of taking the elevator. This was pretty exciting because it added a bit of thrill to the height as the wind blew around me as I climbed down the 40 or so flights.
While waiting for the rest of the group to convene, I visited a beautiful neighboring park where I got attacked by a local karasu (in Japanese it is karasu but it’s either a raven or crow in English).
After meeting up, we headed to Ginza to watch a Kabuki play. This 4 hour play was pretty difficult to follow even for our guide who can actually speak Japanese, but because we read the story beforehand (some of us) we were able to understand the gist of it.
After the play, a friend and I split off and took the metro to Akihabara to see what it looked like at night. It was the same: not really my thing, but I can see why people like it.
Academic Reflection:
The reading I would like to discuss today was about some of the background behind the kabuki play. My personal take on kabuki is that it is a traditional Japanese take on drama which tends to feature classic Japanese instruments such as the shamisen and incredibly exaggerated acting unique to this art form. According to the reading kabuki in particular, compared to even other forms of Japanese drama, focuses more heavily on “masculine” action such as fighting, and to add to this, every actor on stage is a male.
While watching the play, both of the aforementioned focuses on masculinity were easy to see on stage. One scene in particular was changed completely from the script of the play we read, and it drew out a relatively short fight into what was probably a 15-20 minute scene. This key difference probably came from the fact that the script was for an alternate form of the play which was adapted for a more “feminine” version of Japanese drama than kabuki. The other aspect was clear as day as soon as the female roles began to talk. I personally did not really appreciate that there were no women to play the female roles as it tended to distract me as I watched (their voices were very fake). However, even this was interesting, even if only for the first half, and it was certainly a unique experience.
More tomorrow!

Lav goes to Tokyo (4&5/6): Shopping Sprees
I deserve a high-five for successfully sticking to my DIY itinerary for my sweet and short ‘bleisure’ in Tokyo, Japan. Excel-ing my comprehensive plan was worth it after all. Unfortunately, the ‘Budget’ column was irrelevant for I spent WAY OVER than the self-imposed shopping limit. Who can’t resist if you’ve been itching to go to Tokyo since you were a nursery?
No regrets?
This photo was taken after spending a month worth of my salary on my first day in Tokyo.
*That’s my bed in the background. It’s evident I’m most excited to play with my new Totoro plushie and Sailormoon gachapons.*
Asakusa & Oshiage
Tokyo Skytree
When I was drafting my itinerary last April, I found out that the Tokyo Skytree is holding an “Attack on Skytree” exhibit at the Floor 450. I decided to allot more Yen to buy the extra ticket and the special merchandise only available on the floor. I got my sister, the person who influenced me to watch the anime series, three gachapons (i.e. two key chains and one screen featuring the titan shifters), a gold medallion-style keychain, and a keychain featuring Eren biting his left hand. I bought myself the Attack on Skytree tote bag. LOOK AT LEVI. WHO CAN’T RESIST THAT FACE?! Like, really?! And lastly, I can’t skip the Tokyo Skytree gift shop. Of course, I want to buy many, but my budget won’t allow me to do so. In the end, I only got a gold 5th anniversary miniature of Tokyo Skytree and a magnet. There’s one more gift shop in the lobby and it is much bigger than the one in Floor 350. Don’t spend everything when you’re up there. I swear.
Donguri Kyowakoku
I AM STILL MAD FOR NOT GETTING A TICKET TO THE STUDIO GHIBLI MUSEUM. I didn’t know they sold out fast. My hotel is just a few stations away from Mitaka. :( Anyway, this store is easy to find since it is along the stairs heading to the Tokyo Skytree. I thought my Yen 4,000 budget would be enough. I went beyond that because the tax-exemption applies for purchases for Yen 5,000 and above. On my shopping list are a Totoro plushie and a wallet. However, I saw this adorable Pochi purse and picked it up immediately. I also got a set of two limited edition Totoro finger puppets. I can’t find affordable merchandise for my favorite Studio Ghibli films (i.e. Only Yesterday, Whisper of the Heart, Princess Mononoke, and Laputa: Castle in the Sky). I really want the Castle in the Sky tote bag but I already my Attack on Skytree tote bag. I dropped it or else I’ll end up suffering from the “Tote Life”
(WHO WATCH WE BARE BEARS? RAISE YOUR HANDS!) As a result, I took home four more finger puppets -- Princess Mononoke, Sheeta, the Baron, and Louise.
Pokemon Center Skytree Town
I went to the Pokemon Center for nostalgia purposes. My siblings and I used to fight over a Gameboy to take turns on playing Pokemon. I’m glad to see that one of our childhood favorites has remained popular decades later. This is definitely a haul dedicated to my siblings. I bought two Master Balls (each has a stamp and candies which according to my sister tastes like cough drops), Nanoblocks (Mewtwo and Gyarados), coin purses (Pikachu and a Pokeball), and a letter ‘R’ keychain (for my brother). I did not get a keychain for my sister because I already bought her an Attack on Titan keychain. I guess those are enough. A saleslady gave me a plastic postcard featuring the date I visited Pokemon Center. Hooray for a free souvenir!
Nakamise Street
Ahhhhh, the famous Nakamise street. As I have said in my previous post, I was kind of disappointed. Price range is not cheap. I advise you guys to see the after-immigration duty-free shops instead. I ended up with one magnet featuring the gate to the street. Don’t fret yet! Nakamise is great for sightseeing and food tripping. *drools*
Akihabara
Akihabara Gachapon Kaikan
FINALLY. I always wanted a LEGIT capsule toy since I was a kid. *the machines we have in the Philippines are not as enjoyable as those in Japan* You can find gachapon machines in train stations, convenient stores, etc. If you want a complete and satisfying gachapon experience, you’ve got to visit the Akihabara Gachapon Kaikan. I’m on the lookout for Sailor Moon gachapons. I got my sister some Star Wars gachapons (which I did not open). I’m not pretty sure if getting the same pretty toy THRICE is a good luck or the machine is just messing up with me. BTW, I GOT USAGI’S ENGAGEMENT RING.
Don Quijote
I decided to visit this branch of ‘’Donki” so I have one more reason to walk around Akihabara. Also, I get to catch some maids performing in the renowned maid cafés. I bought some matcha-flavored sweets for my officemates and relatives. And of course, I bought a bottle of Cure Natural Aqua Gel. I’m running out of my favorite peeling gel and it’s Php 300 (USD 6) cheaper than the Philippines. PLUS, Don Quijote is a tax-free shop!
*Anecdote: There was a long line in the tax-free counter. I’m far from the line and there were Republic of China Passport Holders in front of me. A Donki staff asked if they can transfer to another counter because the line keeps on getting longer. No one wanted to transfer until the staff reached me. I agreed and they immediately grabbed my baskets at walked downstairs. It’s kind of cool because my feet were swelling big time after all the walking, and then now I have the counter and three Donki staff for myself only.*
Shibuya
Bic Camera
CHEAP CASIO WRISTWATCHES. HOW CAN I SAY NO TO THESE?! I was walking around the famous Shibuya crossing a lot of times until the display of Casio watches caught my attention. Damn. I mean, DAAAYUM. I bought these for my siblings. My trip to Tokyo coincides with their birthdays. My shopping list prioritizes stuff I believe my siblings would like to receive. IF I ONLY HAVE THE MONEY TO BUY THE GADGETS BEING SOLD FOR A CHEAPER PRICE VS. THE PHILIPPINES... ugh.
Uniqlo
Initially, I’m not planning to visit Uniqlo because WE HAVE A LOT IN THE PHILIPPINES. However, I realized ‘souvenir shirts’ in Uniqlo are cheaper compared to the ones being sold at the airport and in Nakamise street. I went to their branch in Shibuya. I got one each for my family. Aside from the shirts, I also bought two ¾ pants and seamless underwear. I forgot to include in the photo the sunglasses I bought for my father. When converted to Philippine peso, I got everything for Php 5,000+ (USD 100*). Thank god for tax-exemption!
Shinjuku
Daiso
There’s a small Daiso near the hotel I stayed in. I got to buy some small souvenirs for my bosses. How adorable that small memo stands! AND CAN WE PLEASE APPRECIATE THOSE YEN 100 FANS. These are for my mom and some relatives. DEFINE BARGAIN. Further, I remember my mom requested me to buy some wedding cards, so I took advantage of the cheap stationary section of Daiso. It is truly cheaper to buy souvenirs here! Everything cost me only Yen 800+. I may not be able to see Harajuku and the big Daiso they have there. With a very limited budget, I’m pretty happy with my haul.
24hr convenient store in Ichigaya
I saw from their window display that they carry some popular Japanese cosmetic brands. I’m not sure the name of the store but the shopping bag says “smile everyday!”. Although I’m not really fond of trying skin care products due to my extremely sensitive skin condition, I still decided to get a look. Good thing I did. I found these really cute nail polish bottles. I decided to pick some colors that have been on my wishlist for a long time. The color range may not be as vast as OPI’s or Sally Hansen’s. I’m in Tokyo, so why not try some local nail products!?
Ginza
Hakuhinkan Toy Park
I found some Tokyo 2020 official merchandise outside the Toy Park. I got a t-shirt for myself and a polo shirt for my dad. The merchandise does not come cheap. I did not buy a lot in the Toy Park because I already bought most of the character goods and toys I have on my shopping list. AND I’M ALREADY RUNNING OUT OF YEN WHEN I WENT TO GINZA. I saw some unique flavors of KitKat and bought some. Regretfully, I spent most of my time in Hakuhinkan window shopping. I’ll definitely visit this place on my future visits to Tokyo with a MUCH BIGGER BUDGET. *finger-crossed*
Narita Airport
I can’t get enough snacks so I shopped for more in the Airport. Surprisingly, I was impressed how diverse the price range of products in the airport. You’ll find both overpriced and affordable goods so be vigilant! Haha! I should have saved more Yen for airport shopping.
I’d been looking for a Shiseido eyelash curler since I arrived in Tokyo only to find one on my departure. AFTER ALL THE TROUBLE I DID. HAHAHAHA. Anyway, it is all worth it, because this retails at PHP 1,300 (USD 26)* in the Philippines. If I converted its Japan price to PH Peso, it only costs Php 450 (USD 9)*. 1,300 VERSUS 450. Since I’m low on cash at this time, I decided to make use of my JCB credit card and ticked off the last product I have on my shopping list.
That’s it for my Tokyo, Japan haul!
Until next time,
PS: I forgot to post this. Initially, I divided my shopping sprees into two separate posts. I decided to combine the two, post it today, and publish the last part of my Tokyo series tomorrow, 31 December 2017.

Attack on Skytree
I went to experience the first part of the Attack on Skytree event *___* Tried to take lots of photos, and some videos, if you are interested how it looks like inside, I uploaded my things. As I recorded the whole 6mins long short anime, the pack is pretty big ^^" Download the parts, then join the files before unzipping.

It was so much fun anyway!! The inside is like a labyrinth so it was one of a challenge to hit up all the points that was needed for getting the freebie stickers. Also, technology, people oO The original Skytree sticker hunt happens with actual stamps on paper. This one is full electronic, you touch the "stamp" to your phone screen and it appears on the page. So cool.
If you’d like to know any other details, you can ask ^^

The country mouse.
characters: Makima x fem! reader
tw: Fluff, kissing, Makima having a soft spot for reader, innocent! reader, slight! suggestive themes, yandere themes
synopsis: Makima always makes an effort to visit you every fall to help with your small farm.
A/N: Cashapp: $kanaokyun
"Thanks for coming out here, Ms. Makima," you smiled as you took a slice of apple pie from the wooden counter, "I know that you must be busy back in the city! I kinda feel bad..." you frown, setting the slice of pie in front of the woman.
Makima only smiled, "Don't feel bad." she reassured, taking a bite out of your delicious pie, "I like it out here rather than in the city. it's peaceful." She chuckles.
"Ehhh? is the city really that bad?" you tilt your head, taking a seat on the red cotton couch next to Makima, along with your own plate of apple pie.
With a chuckle, Makima nods her head. "too noisy, too stressful." was her reply before finishing up her pie, "I wouldn't recommend living there, in my opinion."
You only laugh, "I wasn't planning on it, but I do want to visit someday~" you sing, smiling.
Moments like these are what Makima enjoys the most. No devil attacks, no paperwork, and especially no coworkers to deal with. Only you and your yummy pies.
"I'll take you someday, I promise."
"You better! I wanna see the Skytree- OH!"
With a sudden movement, the older woman lifts you off the couch, setting you on her lap. Her head nuzzled deep on your neck, inhaling your sweet scent. It was an understatement that Makima cares for you a lot; you were different from the humans she interacted with.
While some were greedy, selfish, and violent, you were quite the opposite. Pleasant, caring, and soft.
Her little puppy.
"Maki?" your soft voice brought her back to reality, feeling how your fingers skillfully combed through her red locks of hair. Without hesitation, she leans downward, giving your neck little kisses.
You squeal in laughter, squirming on her lap. "M-Maki, stop that; you know that tickles!"
But she doesn't and doesn't plan to stop anytime soon. Makima knew your weak spots well and what kind of sounds you make when she sucks in the right places.
It’s an understatement that the redhead is obsessed <3

the way i loved you — miya atsumu
it's 2am and you're cursing atsumu's name, and you're so in love that you act insane.
atsumu x fem!reader, bokuto x fem!reader, love triangle (lol), cursing, fuck buddies, mentions of sex but nothing smut (just for the sake of the fuck buddies narrative), angst (?)
haikyuu boys as taylor swift songs masterlist
© sakusafilm. do not repost.
there are really just some people... who are hard to forget.
and we will never understand why... even after the toxicity, the mixed signals, the chaos— it's still gonna be that person whom we want to see when we go home. we are always willing to compromise, to ask for an apology for something we never did... as long as they are here. as long as it's them.
“thanks for tonight, kotaro.”
bokuto kotaro is a gentleman. opposite of his funny facade, you had a very intelligent talk with him. he talked about science, and you loved it because, well, you love science too. every now and then, he would throw jokes and sometimes, he's effortlessly funny as he interacts with almost everyone he sees.
you enjoyed the date, long story short. the steak was great. the view from the skytree was breathtaking. your date was dashing, you're envied by every woman who saw. it was a night well spent and a second time isn't impossible, so you agreed. you agreed when bokuto asked you if wanted to spend time with him in universal studios osaka.
you were so confident when you nodded at him, with a huge smile on your face. planning out your first itinerary which would be the attack on titan themed park and that stupidly expensive levi ackerman popcorn holder. but once you entered your apartment, dimmed lights and emptiness welcomes you again.
you sat down on the couch quietly, removing your heels and finally letting your feet rest. you feel like passing out in the couch already, yet you never realized how tired you were outside. and this is exactly why you hate being alone. it makes you tired. it's not just being alone, you feel lonely.
you shut your eyes and cursed the air.
fuck you.
fuck you, atsumu miya.
you went out today, meeting a good man who seems so willing to give you the best and then you come home and remember that jerk once again. it's insanity. it's insanity how you allowed him to claim parts of you that no one could ever know. it's insanity how you remember him even in your own home, when he probably doesn't give a fuck about you anymore the moment he walked out last month.
he won't give a fuck. you know.
in his own words, you're just my fuck buddy.
nothing more, nothing less. that's how he sees you. a person of convenience. he will kiss you when he wants to and will drop you when he's done. you're nothing to him. what's worse is you know that you will be discarded sooner or later, and still you're out here, having a hard time forgetting about that man.
in your defense, you didn't know that it would happen. when you agreed to atsumu, you also just agreed because of sex.
you hated his guts, that's why you were so confident that you won't fall in love with him. he's arrogant and egoistic. a lot of times, he thinks that he's the best in the world. he wants people to meet his standards. he was the annoying twin brother between him and osamu miya. he's obsessed with volleyball. he's always shouting.
but atsumu miya... is apparently more than that. he took care of you too—brought you medicines when you're on your period, brought you homemade food and ate dinner with you whenever you're sad. he will throw jokes from time to time, and he would laugh even before throwing it. he loves to color his hair in blonde, blue or even ash gray.
whenever he caresses you, he's always gentle. taking his time, as if you were the most beautiful girl in the world. he would shower you compliments. he would kiss your forehead. intertwining your fingers onto him.
whenever you're skin-to-skin with him, it always felt right. like he's a missing puzzle, like he fits perfectly with you.
you were confused. you don't know if it's just you romanticizing the thought of him, or it's really him trying to be romantic. you got an answer early, though. it was all a lie. or maybe, you were just delusional that you thought atsumu miya likes you.
you opened your eyes and lazily stood up from the couch when someone knocked, combing your long black hair with your fingers and fixing the tight body hugging black dress you wore tonight.
you slowly opened the door, thinking it's just the old lady next door who loves giving you side dishes. but a yellow haired boy stunned you.
wearing a black hoodie from his team, hair is down the his usual styling. hands inside the pocket of his black jeans, atsumu miya returned to you. you can't help but scoff, looking at him from head to toe. you're trying to insult him, but atsumu doesn't allow people to get to him. he doesn't care. he has a thick face. that's exactly why after everything, he still came back.
he looked at you from head to toe as well, “went somewhere?”
“yeah, i came from a date and i'm tired and i don't have the time and luxury to talk with you so fuck off and leave me alone.” you're about to shut the door but atsumu stopped it with his hand, “atsumu, i swear to god.”
“i'm sorry, baby.”
this man. you hate him so much for this. but you hate yourself even more. you hate yourself when your heart fluttered when he started calling you that common ass endearment once again. you hate how easy it is for you to soften when it comes to him.
“let me guess, the sex isn't good.” you scoffed, “i don't want to see you anymore, atsumu.”
“i'm really sorry, baby—” it took so much courage for you to slam the door in front of his face. guilt immediately rushing down through your system after what you did. and you hate that because you should never feel bad at all.
that man insulted you and made you feel like a trash. he's probably just coming back because the new girl cannot stand him anymore.
atsumu can be quite demanding and dominant. he loves to go to random late night drives, waking you up in the middle of the night and pulling you out of your bed with your pajamas on. he loves to buy shoes, so when he does that, he will also make sure to buy you one even if you don't need it. he loves taking you out to dinner dates, giving your bouquet of flowers every damn time that it almost made your apartment a flowershop this one time that he consistently did it. he will do whatever the fuck he wants. he doesn't need anyone's opinion, so you know that it's also not that easy for him to get along with so many people.
yet you were full of consideration and you understood him.
but that's over now... right? right?
“do you have a schedule later?” the next day, bokuto went to the library with you to study. something atsumu and you never did before, you never asked him because you know that he will not love the idea anyway. but here's bokuto, doing simple study dates. less extravagant, but calmer.
“later? none. if i can finish everything right now.” you chuckled, “why?”
“uh...” bokuto hesitated.
“spill it out.” you told him, he chuckled.
“i'm just not sure if you're comfortable going to this like this... but a friend of mine is celebrating his birthday and they're having an open house party later. anyone could go, so...” he smiled at you.
“i don't go to many parties but i could make time, kotaro.” you smiled.
“oh no! you don't have to if you're not comfy, __!” he scratched his nape, “you don't have to force yourself—”
you chuckled, “it's really okay. i also want to have fun.”
bokuto bit his lower lip, trying to stop himself from smiling like an idiot, “well then, i'll fetch you, later?”
you nodded, “sure thing.”
you genuinely enjoy bokuto's company. he has a good sense of humor and is very respectful to you. very opposite of atsumu's unfunny sense of humor and disrespect.
it's been a while since you last went to a house party, or just a party in general. you are scared to see atsumu again. you know he's the type of person to go to every party in town. but since the night he went to see you again, you became pretty confident. you won't take him back, but you would love to see atsumu miya beg. if you ever see him tonight, you won't back down and falter.
you wore a simple white skirt and white tank top, partnered with white balenciaga heels and accessories.
kotaro: what're u wearing?
you: why 🤨
kotaro: so we could match
you were thrilled. you sent a picture of your outfit for the night to him and when you saw him pulling a black and white attire, just perfectly matching your outfit— you felt butterflies floating in your stomach.
atsumu could never. he will be too ashamed to do this, especially with someone who is just a fuck machine to him. this will make him cringe.
“you look beautiful,” you smiled at bokuto while pitying yourself. you never heard that from atsumu in random days. he can only say that to you after you reached your high during sex. he can never whisper that to you during a drive, in the morning after he wakes up, at the library because he never went with you there.
the celebrant's house is huge. they even have a swimming pool, already packed by people you don't know so you have to remind youself to not swim tonight. it's too crowded. bokuto greeted a lot of people and all of them asked about you too.
“i'm courting her,” is all that bokuto could answer in behalf of you.
courting. you really don't believe in the idea of it. before, it just seems like another way to love bomb someone. but tonight, it felt like a compliment. it felt just right. bokuto is charming and endearing, he makes you so comfortable.
“bokuto kotaro, huh?”
in the middle of the party, you tried to search for a comfort room and parted for a bit with bokuto. and while walking through the hallways, you finally saw him.
you tried to snob him, but atsumu reached for your wrist lightly to stop you. you flinch at his touch. it suddenly feels so cold. across the hallway, you can see the time: 2am. once again.
“can you just... listen? you don't have to speak, just listen to me.” it is an understatement to say that you were shocked that he has a calm voice. he sounds different, far from the atsumu you know.
“i'm sorry.” he says, “i don't have an excuse. i was mad and i told all of that to you irresponsibly. i'm really really sorry.”
you don't know what to say because for the first time, you feel like this is a genuine apology from him. your eyes started stinging just by the thought of atsumu lowering his pride for you. you told yourself that you won't falter, that you won't back down, but the only thing you want to do right now is to pull him into a tight hug again.
“i'm really really sorry—”
“i hate you,” you looked at him. atsumu dropped his hand and caught your eyes. he nodded, as if he's already accepting that, “i hate you so much, miya.”
“i know...” he answered.
“i hate how lowly you think of me. i am not your fuck toy. i am not someone that you can just discard when you're done. you're still here, because i allow you, not because you're that great and i don't have the fucking choice!” i told him. he nodded again, “i hate how you don't call me beautiful in random days, i hate how i cannot do matching outfits with you, i hate your corny jokes, i hate your reckless ass, i hate you how you just pull me to bed for a late night drive when i am still in my pajamas. atsumu miya—”
atsumu leaned, giving you a quick kiss. caughting you off guard. it tasted like mint and alcohol. you still remember, you never forgot even for a millisecond. it tasted like toxin that you're willing to take. atsumu miya is a poison to you.
“then i'll do it.” he said, catching his breath as if he's nervous, “i'll match your outfits. i'll be a gentleman. i'll study with you. i'll be funnier. i'll ask you first, your opinions, your thoughts. every fucking thing, baby.”
your lips parted, “you're just drunk, aren't you?”
“kinda wish i am.” he answered, “but i am very much sober tonight.”
“how could you do all of that with your fuck buddy?” you scoffed.
“what the fuck is love? i am still not sure.” he answered, “but when you started making my heart race, when i felt like i fucking want to intertwine my hands to yours every damn time, it scared the fuck out of me. i am a coward, i know. i told you those words because i can't believe that it's actually happening, it sounds lame to me. it sounds uncool and you know how obsessed i am to look cool all the damn time."
you watched how he ranted his frustrations.
“you look beautiful every damn second i see you. you make me want to do the cringiest things, all the corny stuff. you make me want to compromise. to understand. to face my feelings. to stay." atsumu says, “baby,”
it overwhelmed you but you understood how it must be so overwhelming for him too. a boy who doesn't take anything seriously, suddenly feeling a rush of emotion washing through him. an unfamiliar feeling at that.
you are not expert to things like this too. so you chuckled at him. you laughed as he stared at you.
“fool.” you remarked, “do you think i am used to this? do you think that i know better than you about falling in love? i agreed to our set up because i don't want to waste my time hurting for a relationship. and still, i ended up... like that.”
your eyes met his, “baby,”
“bokuto is amazing, you know. he compliments me. he's charming, endearing. he's sensible. everyone wants to be me whenever i'm with him.” you said.
atsumu's eyebrows furrowed at you, “do i look like i care?”
and then you said, “but he's not you.”
slowly, his expression changed. he scoffed and chuckled.
“goddamn, miya, i missed screaming at you, talking and fighting with you all the damn time.” you said, “it's fucking insane. you're insane.”
”we both are.” atsumu says, pulling you close, “the way we love each other is insane... like a rollercoaster rush.”
he's right. and he's the only one you'll love the way you do.
insane.

愛してる: 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞'𝐬 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟏.
— we invite you to celebrate the brewery’s first valentines’ day, with freshly brewed sweet drinks, to honor the day dedicated to love. click for valentines’ day special menu!
↳ 烏野高校 — karasuno high. presenting: sugawara kōshi, sawamura daichi, azumane asahi. i’m sorry these are coming a little late, exam pressure lmao.
credits for image @ roarzoro on twitter.
sugawara kōshi
kōshi loves you with all of his heart. he knows it, and he's known it for a long time. his heart is always looking for you. he's watching you talk about your favorite volleyball anime, or he goes to the temple with you to watch you pray, as he wishes to the lords before him that by some miracle, you fall in love with him.
and you do. but he doesn't know that.
kōshi's looking at you, but he doesn't realize that you're looking at him when he's not noticing. he's talking about the crazy quick attack the first years have, and you notice the small spark in his eyes as you admire him from afar.
during the weekends, the two of you always go on walks. it's calming—the small morning breeze passing through the two of you as you chat while feeding the fishes by the bridge. then, you'd get coffee by the small shop near the school. sometimes, the two of you would even have lunch together. you'd insist that he get the spicy mapo tofu because it's his absolute favorite, and that would make him fall deeper into the pit called love.
so, as you two graduate from school, your heart burns as you watch him wave at you from afar.
+
"[y/n]!!" he yells out, "i'll see you this weekend at the park, okay?"
you don't want to say anything, because right now, all you can feel is that nostalgic feeling fading away. the high-school years are gone. kōshi and you have just graduated from high school, and he's being pulled by the sleeve by daichi to their families as you stand here, alone, looking at them.
but then, daichi stops. he stands there, whispering something to sugawara as you raise your eyebrow in confusion. the setter immediately places a hand over his face to hide his blush, turning away from the former volleyball team captain.
you sigh, walking back. you feel stares boring through the back of your skull, but you ignore them. and suddenly, the grey-haired boy is next to you, pulling your hood back as you bump into him. he sheds a toothy grin with a thumbs-up, asking, "where do you think you're going?"
you look away, annoyed, as you say, "go flirt with daichi or something, dumbass. i'm tired and i'm going home."
"wait, what?" he asks, stopping as he tilts your chin to look up at him, "did you just—you think i like daichi?"
"i-i..." you sigh, not finding the words you wanted to say. you look away in embarrassment when he says, "are you dumb?"
"okay, that's it. i'm going now," you huff, freeing your hands from his grasp as you begin walking away.
he chuckles out, the soft pink petals of the cherry trees falling as he yells out, "for the record, i love someone very much."
"okay, and?" you yell back, turning on your heel. you feel the rejection almost ghosting over your figure as he says, "they're standing in front of me thinking i like my best friend."
looking back, kōshi always manages to tease you about that day. he'd chuckle in the middle of a movie, or before going to bed asking, "hey, remember the day i told you i loved you?"
"and remember the time you thought i liked daichi?"
what a way to live a happy married life.
sawamura daichi
you're just a friend, daichi would remind himself. you're talking to him about how cool his receive was, and you're giving him a lucky charm, but he's not listening. because right now, all that matters is you.
but you're not just a friend, are you? you're someone sawamura daichi holds so close to his heart, that it scares him. it's obvious to everyone, even the teachers—except you.
because daichi and you have created that stupid bubble of friendship, that it's sort of adorable to see you interact. the soft touchings of your hands when you're passing something to the other, or the light chuckles when you're communicating through your eyes in the classroom, or how he always walks you home(then comes running back for volleyball practice).
it's adorable, but at the same time, it's draining. because sawamura can't just tell you he's in love. he has to show it with his actions.
yet, even when he does, every single time, you mistake it as friendship. it makes him question his own existence, really, because he's trying so hard not to just burst in front of you. he's scared to say those words that might backfire at him.
even sugawara has told him countless times, that you do, indeed, love him back. his anxiety is just always getting in the way. he’s always procrastinating—telling himself he’d do it soon, but he never does.
but today? he feels no anxiety whatsoever.
+
"so, why'd you decide you want to go to the temple all of a sudden?" he asks, walking up the stairs as you breathed out a long visible sigh in the crisp winter morning. he's looking at you, his hands stuffed into his jacket as you say, "i just... haven't come here in a long time. i thought it's time i pay the gods a visit. just because."
"you're supposed to continue that sentence," he retorts. you chuckle at him, finally reaching the top of the long-awaited temple, as you say, "i wanted to wish for something."
"so you're taking advantage of the gods now?" he mumbles. you slap his arm softly, making him giggle as you say, "no, it's just that i need a little confidence boost, okay? stop stepping on my belief here!"
"okay, okay, i won't! come on now, let's ring the bell," he gestures toward the shinto temple in front of you. you smile lightly, gripping a finger of his as you drag him along. he's mumbling about how you're supposed to go alone, and you say, "not many people are here anyway. i don't think it matters all that much."
after the two of you finish up and are going back down the stairs, daichi asks, "so... what'd you wish for?"
"can't tell you," you immediately say. his elbow brushes against yours as you turn into a beet red. he lets out a dry chuckle as he says, "let me guess. did you wish for the same thing i did?"
he's internally yelling at himself, asking his own heart why in god's name would he say those words. because for a fact, he knows that your wish probably wasn't the same as his. he's praying that it was, yet as his anxiety builds up into a tower taller than the skytree in tokyo, he regrets every word.
"i don't know what you wished for, dummy," you murmur, giving him an eye-roll as you rub your gloved hands together.
"you."
you blink twice. then you blink again as you turn around and yell out, "huh?"
"i wished for you," he looks down at his shoes, his brown eyes looking away with pure guilt as you yell, "wait, so we did wish for almost the same things!"
he looks up, asking, "there was more?"
"yeah, i wished for you too. but also good grades, i've been failing that stupid physics class that miss nari takes."
"oh god."
azumane asahi
asahi hates storms more than anything. his brain just always panics when thunder roars or lightning strikes, and he craves to be by someone whom he holds very dear to his heart.
so, as you two walk back home from school today, he hears it. it's faint but he hears it. suddenly, a small bead of sweat is falling down his forehead. and his eyes are wide. his brain is racking up so many possible problems that can occur.
you're talking, but he's drowned you out. he can't break down in front of you—he likes you a lot, and he can't just show you his vulnerable side yet. what if you think he's too childish and distance yourself?
asahi remembers the time his mom told him to take deep breaths. he's doing exactly that, but why does he feel his heart beat faster? he's doing that, but he's still in a state of fright.
why can't he stop panicking?
+
"asahi?" you ask, your eyebrows furrowing as you look at the boy's shaking hands. his eyes are shut tightly as thunder strikes again. you begin talking, but you don't think he can hear you.
"it's about to rain, azumane. come in, and wait it out before you go home," you gesture to your house. you were just about to enter, but asahi suddenly stopped.
you thought for a bit—the way he flinched while hearing the crack of the thunder, or the way his hands shake as it begins to slightly drizzle. then it hit you.
azumane asahi was scared of storms.
you grab his hand in haste, pulling him inside your home as you run towards your room. he was right behind you as you closed the door, still breathing a little too fast as you closed the curtains and turned on the lights.
"asahi," you say as he begins mumbling out incomprehensible words, "i'm here, don't worry."
he's still shaking as you sit him down on the bed, wrapping a blanket around him as you hold his hand in yours and say words of encouragement. you're rubbing his back, tracing small circular patterns.
"please don't leave me. i love you so so much, just please, don't leave," he mumbles into your ear as you hug him close. his body is shaking terribly when you stop rubbing his back.
a smile makes its way onto your face as you hum indulgently, "i'm never leaving your side, asahi. don't worry."
