His main insecurity wouldn’t be the fear of you leaving him for someone else, but would be him not being your favorite person to be around. He adored you so much that in his world, laying and eating snacks with you was the best activity, but once he realized it might not be the same for you, he panicked.

If you liked going to museums, he would act as if he was interested. He would buy tickets to movies, theatre and anything you were interested in.

He would insist on continuing until you speak up. Confrontation would not work on him. The two of you are cuddling on the couch as some tv show plays in the background. You lay on your back across the couch while Atsushi’s giant body lays on top of you like a warm weighted blanket. His head of purple locs using your belly as his pillow while he lazily nommed on some pocky sticks. Your sleepy eyes are gazing at the tv with minimal interest while your hands mindlessly play with your boyfriend’s long hair.

Everything was quiet and content until…

“Eh?” Atsushi questions as he lifts his head off your belly. Your hands continues to comb through his hair while you focus on his sudden movement with a quizzical eye.

“Hm? What’s up ‘sushi?” you ask softly. Your boyfriend doesn’t respond, instead he presses his ear against your belly again. You crane your neck slightly to see a surprisingly focused expression replacing his previously mellowed one. You quirk an eyebrow and smirk slightly at his unusual behavior.

“Are you good?” you question with a giggle.

Your only response was a “Shh!” from the purple giant. You bite back a snort and roll your eyes at his bizarre antics as you relax your head on the arm of the couch once more.

About ten seconds of silence pass until Atsushi snaps his head up alarmingly fast- his previously half lidded eyes now opened wider and appearing much more serious. His sudden movement manages to pull a surprised yelp out of you. (A jump of fear may have also been possible if it wasn’t for the purple lump still laying on your front.) His expression confuses you and your eyebrows pinch together in concern.

“Atsushi, what’s wrong?”

After a small beat of silence, he answers,

“You’re hungry Chibi-chin.”

“…uhh..what?”

“You’re hungry. Why didn’t you tell me? You want the rest of my pocky?”

“Uh, no I’m fine babe. Why do you think I’m hungry all of a sudden?” your question ends in a slight giggle now that you realize the silly but sweet reason your boyfriend looked so concerned.

“Your stomach told me.” He answers simply

“My…what did who now?”

“Your belly growled at me chibi-chin. It sounded pretty serious too. It needs to be fed.”

You can’t help but laugh outright now. Does this man even know how adorable he is?

“Mukkun,” you say endearingly, “my stomach’s fine, really! I don’t really feel hungry so if it is growling it’s probably just gas or something.”

“You said you’re not *really* hungry. That means you are a little hungry.” He concludes lazily as he pushes himself off of your body to sit up on the couch.

“I’ll make you some ramen if you want.”

“Well, hold on-“

“Or maybe some omurice.”

“Mukkun…”

“Or we could go out to eat? Kuro-chin told me about this new cafe that has-”

“Atsushi!”

“Eh? Chibi-chin’s getting cranky. I really need to get you something to eat.”

“I…” you begin to retort, but it ends in an amused sigh. You put your hands up in mock surrender.

“Alright ‘sushi you win. Honestly, I could go for any of those options. But be honest with me,” you also push yourself upright into a sitting position. You level your boyfriend with a half hearted scrutinizing gaze and ask,

“Is this really about getting ME something to eat, or are you just trying to feed yourself?”

“Huh?” Atsushi questions as his lips form a small pout.

“Don’t be dumb Chibi-chin,” He says blankly, but continues before you can get offended,

“Of course I wanna eat too, but it’s more important to me that your eating…I…” he shifts his gaze to the side, and you can swear you see a light blush on his cheeks.

“…I like to make sure that you’re eating good. Being hungry sucks, and I don’t want you to have to feel that way.”

He tilts his head even more so that his long purple hair is hiding his face from your view

“And…eating good food with you is more fun than eating alone, so…”

And there goes your heart melting like butter in your chest.

It may seem like basic hospitality to anyone else, but you know just how important snacks and food were to Atsushi. So to have him selfless offer what he had to you, and offer to buy or even make whatever you want speaks volumes to how much he really cares about your well-being.

“Awww, Atsushi~” you coo as you scooch forward, hands reaching out so you could make the bashful giant look at you. After a bit of half hearted resistance from him, you finally get his red cheeks into your hands and smoosh them as you continue to gush at him.

“You are the cutest, sweetest thing ever! Sweeter than all the ice cream and pocky sticks and mochi in the world!”

With each compliment, his face gets redder and an adorably shy smile begins to creep on his lips. He takes your left hand into his and presses a soft kiss on the back of your fingers.

“I don’t think it’s possible for anything to be sweeter than you, Chibi-chin.”

Atsushi tends to be rather quiet as well, so he isn’t too bothered by someone being quiet.

As long as you can make decisions for him and don’t take his food without asking. He doesn’t like to share food or make his own decisions. As long as those two things aren’t an issue for you, he doesn’t mind your behavior.

If you’re in a restaurant and you’re too scared to place your order, there might be an issue. He doesn’t know what he wants to eat, and he’d rather you pick out what he eats, but that would mean that you’d have to place the order, but you can’t place it because you don’t want to talk to the wait staff. Unless there was a way to work this issue out. That may be the only time you come across an issue with being a shy person.

He isn’t bothered by how you act, but if someone else has an issue with it, he’ll say something about it. No one gets to disrespect you and treat you like that. If the situation escalates, he won’t mind taking the person down for you or walking away from the situation entirely because he’s tired and he wants to go home to eat and sleep.

He’s pretty supportive, however you are.

little shit plays it off so well too. you’ll be hunched over doing work, or something, and he comes up to rub your back soothingly like, “don’t worry, pretty girl, you got this.” and just as your shoulders relax you feel the support in your chest release and hear him giggling to himself. like such:

midterms suck. college makes you tired and confused and sends your emotions into a repetitive 12 week rollercoaster. your mind is wack right now and you’re pretty sure you’ve been reviewing the same sentence for ten minutes.

you think you hear your boyfriend coming into the room, and when you feel a warm hand smooth across your shoulder, you feel relieved.

“i hate this.” you mumble.

“yea—haha—anyway, we have to go now. see you next week!” you make your escape.

a long, long time ago i used to have this thought about what if himuro and akashi had *a thing* (they are my faves and i like crack pair so why not right) bc personally i think they could get along bc 1) basketball 2) murasakibara and 3) voila, nijimura the world is so so small. himuro is a basketball freak and akashi likes basketball too so they def would talk about bakset 24/7 or asking which nba team is your favorite, which is your nba player you have eyes for etc etc also when himuro learns about the relationship between akashi and murasakibara he's like ooooh no wonder atsushi likes talking about aka-chin a lot, atsushi's aka-chin is legit amazing, and himuro is a bit interested knowing akashi's is actually atsushi's mom in the middle school it's funny everyone also thinks himuro is atsushi's mom currently who spoils him w a bunch of snacks so atsushi would listen to him. when himuro mentions nijimura, akashi is excited to listen to his first encounter with nijimura bc wow how could himuro get close with his favorite people. it's hilarious how nijimura was saved by himuro when the nijimura who akashi knows is actually quite good at fighting and even beating haizaki up on daily basis and now this person who seems too charming to get involved in any violence scenarios literally knocked some guys who are bigger than him to save akashi's senpai who has (arguably) a black belt in karate. we all know akashi has a thing for older boys whose eyes are grey. exactly! himuro is older and has grey eyes (bonus: his hair is black just like nijimura's). akashi somehow could see nijimura in himuro tho but maybe himuro is more level-headed. akashi would always be amazed by the fact himuro was a former delinquent (just like nijimura), is mature for his age and has this oniichan charm (just like nijimura!), and now is the captain of yosen basketball team (deja vu right). also himuro would be astoned at how akashi could be good at literally anything, that akashi is a natural-born prodigy, while himuro has always tried much harder than anyone bc he's just an ordinary. it's not always about the basketball, but akashi is a perfect person who has walked on the earth bc he always has perfect scores at literally any subject which makes himuro quite envious of him bc he has studied pretty hard but still has bad grads except maths lmao not to mention himuro has done so many questionable things borderline crime in his past while akashi is an honor student who comes from a very wealthy and prominent family who literally never does ahything disgraceful in his life. there's def a gap between them but i think their relationship could still work bc both are mature and assertive so they could have healthy communication with each other about whatever bothers them. also they're the caretakers of their friends so they def would take care of each other bc honesty akashi deserves someone who would pamper him with a lot of love since he's been too hard on himself and so many responsibilities are on his shoulders.

oh also what if himuro's and akashi's taste in music is the opposite of each other's lmao maybe himuro is into indie folk, pop punk, pop rock, alternative rock, experimental rock, or even heavy metal. he would be the biggest fan of the emo trinity (at some point he thinks gerad way is his gay awakening lol), radiohead, greenday, slipknot, maneskin, some norwegian black metal bands and maybe phoebe bridgers and mitski too. akashi likes music that doesn't hurt his ears and more into music which gives him a calming effect like, of course, jazz and classical (akashi is just an old soul in a child body okay). akashi is def a fan of classical composers such tchaiskovsky (swan lake is his fave bc lbr the black swan move by aronofsky is sooooo akashi coded), bach, rachmanoff, satie, chopin, schubert etc literally names that himuro never heard of or could pronounce lmao. maybe they share fave musicians like hozier (they're jamming to too sweet by hozier? sign me the fuck up!!!) or sufjan stevens. when himuro learns about akashi can play instruments esp violin and piano hes like please join my band!!!! (i hc himuro can play guitar and bass bc he's so anak band coded)

also maybe they can have a study date where akashi explains about mendelism inheritance or carbon cycle himuro be like i dont know what are you talking about and sobbing lol maybe hes confident in english literature bc well hes an american but when akashi asks him who's the writer of the tragedy of macbeth, himuros completely has no idea. himuro is sure not stupid but hes def not the brightest and even gets dumber whenever hes with akashi 😭
