you can't convince me kyouka and atsushi don't have the most insanely convoluted systems or ways for things

like they let these two traumatized orphans with wildly limited real world experience (to varying degrees) live alone together, theres no way they knew how to do most necessary 'adulting' things and neither of them probably feel like they can ask for help (even if the ada members would 100% try to help)

they definitely made systems to do things that make sense to only them but hey if it gets the job done...

its also such a "learn as we go" thing

like kyouka learning you can't just put all the clothes into one wash (esp when you have a ton of white shirts and bright red kimonos) (atsushi goes to work with pink buttons up for a week)

or them both learning how to food shop and budget for it and plan out healthy meals

im just imagining them trying to figure out how to make annual doctors appointments lol

In Japan every year we have this thing where the town has this big fireworks show to celebrate the summer, and this time when I watched the fireworks I got WAN flashbacks and wondered if we'd ever see everyone back together again. (alive)

Im curious abt your headcannons on what the rest of the agency think of Poe and his relationship with Ranpo.

Like I know that Yosano met him, and Dazai prob did background checks on all of the guild.

But i dont think any of them really MET him. Even after he came to Kyoka's party, I feel like no one really noticed him.

So what do you think the agencys first impressions of Poe were?

Oh yeah no I agree, I think they know of him as Ranpo’s friend from the Guild and that’s sort of where it ends asides from his willingness to assist the agency all the time

I think Ranpo and Poe have a bet to see how long it takes each member to realise they’re dating, they’re just competitive like that

KYOUKA is a little more favourable to Poe, mostly for Karl, I think she might have a respect and minor admiration for him

ATSUSHI I don’t think he minds his presence much and neither do the TANIZAKIS, they like that he’s polite

YOSANO see idk as much about her character as I would like to but in my opinion I think there’s a mutual respect and willingness to get to know each other a little, for Ranpo’s sake if anything — I think Poe would be fascinated by her medical knowledge and she appreciates his closeness w Ranpo

KUNIKDA respect, Poe he a great work ethic if not too great, several jobs at once, highly successful and willing to do paperwork — but hes also itching to organise Poe’s side of the desk (organised mess)

DAZAI doesn’t care too much, tried to tease Ranpo about the rich American he drags around the city all the time

FUKUZAWA wants to get to know him personally and has 0 idea how to do it, he’s Ranpo’s dear friend so he’s worth getting to know but he also looks like he’ll have a heart attack when the president looks his way — once tried to bridge the gap w being a former sniper and he an assasin but again, skittish man

Atsushi went from 0 to 4 siblings by the sheer power of association

After Dazai is back in the ADA, he moves in with Atsushi and Kyouka for some time to heal his injuries.

They become really close with each other during that time. Watching movies together, going to amusement parks where Kyouka dries their wallets eating ice-cream and crepes, having hot pot, Oden and Chasuke almost every day to soothe their souls.

Dazai gets better immediately but he still pretends to be sick because he likes this little family they have made and he had never truly been a part of something like this before. A relationship where he doesn't have to worry about making plans and schemes. He can just relax with the kids and forget he has any problems or issues for some time.

Atsushi and Kyouka find Dazai eccentric with his bad dad jokes and some surprisingly good advice; he has a big personality but that balances their introversion and makes them more open. His presence is comforting to them.

In the end none of them ever speak about Dazai moving out and they just go on with their dangerous lives, knowing they can go back in the night to a place called home.

Dazai: do you guys ever think about dying?

Kyouka: sometimes

Atsushi: can we not talk about that at 2 AM when we are trying to sleep?

Dazai: I was just wondering how it will be like after death

Kyouka: I think death is better than torture

Dazai: do you remember the Port Mafia torture method where they half kill you to make you face death and then make you beg for your lives?

Kyouka: the one with the barrels? I think hanging upside down is much worse...

Atsushi: can we stop fucking talking about THIS and go to SLEEP????

Dazai, gasping: how can you swear in front of Kyouka-chan! That gives her bad manners!

Atsushi: YEAH, you two can talk about fucking dying and torture, but I can't swear? You've gotta be shitting me.

Dazai: ......

Kyouka: yeah, Atsushi swears a lot when he is mad. He learnt that in the orphanage

atsushi thinks kyouka still believes in things like santa claus or tooth faries and is always trying to “keep the magic alive” and kyouka has yet to tell him otherwise cuz she also thinks he believes in that stuff and is trying to do the same to him so she just plays along but in actuality neither of them do
