The Thin Dead Line aired for ATS season 2, episode 14. This is the zombie cop episode, although technically there are multiple zombie cops. Kate is the LAPD detective working with Angel in this episode.
This episode is also one of the three ATS episodes with an appearance by Anne. (She had previously appeared in BTVS S3 and S4. And she previously had other names, including Sister Sunshine, Lily, and Chanterelle.) Anne notices a problem at the Teen Center she runs, and brings it up to her friend Gunn. This is how Angel and the others first learn about the zombie cops.
(mod note: highly recommend the excellent meta essay on the episode Anne and the character Anne written by herinsectreflection. it includes commentary on Anne’s entire run in the Buffyverse.)

On Charles Gunn and Community
A large part of why I want to write this meta is that I don’t really see many people talking about Gunn. This is not all my thoughts on Gunn, I am going to write more over time. I have stated before that I personally feel that Gunn is in fact a much more complicated character than many here give him credit for.
I posit that the reason for this lack of credit was a larger trend of people in the fandom accepting the narratives presented by white characters regarding the people of color in the show (this is probably more discussed about at this point regarding Spike and Nikki and Robin Wood). While this essay is not entirely about the racism present in the corpus of Angel the Series, it exists in dialogue with more in depth takes on the racism present in Ats.
Gunn is in many respects unique in the buffyverse. There are no other people of color who achieve the status of main cast member, and certainly not for four consecutive seasons. The lack of discussion regarding him is a huge indignity to his character.
Much more care is taken to fleshing out Gunn in season two than in other seasons. In season two Gunn has a life outside of Angel Investigations. He has roots in the city, a community that he has spent his life dedicated to protecting. In season three, after the events of “That Old Gang of Mine” (3x03), this critical aspect of his character is gone.
It would be inaccurate to say that this happens suddenly, but the way it is handled is different in season three. During most of season two, Gunn exists in two worlds, never fully belonging to either. Both the early stages of the Pylea arc and especially “That Old Gang of Mine” throw into sharp focus that the story the writers want to tell with him is that he cannot live in this state of dual existence. “That Old Gang of Mine” depicts the members of Gunn’s old community as violent and unenlightened, with Gunn being pulled in two highly racialized directions: “black” wanton violence, and “white” enlightened application of reason regarding the use of violence. The way the episode portrays people of color is just downright awful, and Ats’s larger portrayal of race actively upholds existing, current stereotypes surrounding people of color.
I would say that Gunn is someone who cares highly about community. Episodes like 1x20 “War Zone,” 2x03 “First Impressions,” and 2x14 “The Thin Dead Line” contrast Gunn heavily with the other three members of AI. Gunn doesn’t fight for some greater ideal like others, but because it helps protect the people around him, as highlighted by @titsgirlbuffy and @punksouthie here:
Gunn’s decisions in “That Old Gang of Mine” are heavily informed by the idea posed by writers that AI and his old community are ideologically opposed. He is forced to choose between the two. The reason he comes to the decision that he does is largely decided by the dynamics at play in the situation. It is only once he is put in a situation where those who he has bonded with are at risk – the showdown in Caritas – that Gunn fully reflects and decides to turn against those in his old community. Gunn recontextualizes the scenario as being about an “out of town” person stirring up trouble within his community only once Angel and Lorne are put at risk. While he says in this gifset that it is about the mission, he does not necessarily argue against demons as an “other” to humans but more argues in defense of Angel *specifically*:
Anne reflecting the existentialist themes of the show back at Gunn in “Never Fade Away” recontextualizes everything. It parallels Doyle’s conversation with Angel in “City of” around the need to not be cut off. In these short two lines of dialogue, so much is said.
This post contains a similar parallel:
In the larger context of the show, we can see that Gunn starts off a paragon of Doyle’s explicitly stated message of what the show is about. He is incredibly entrenched in his local community. He knows the people he interacts with in “First Impressions” and “The Thin Dead Line.” He fights not for an ideal but for others. Over time, as he interacts with AI, he gets increasingly cut off from those that he is helping, moving further and further away from the actual mission of AI.
In his first appearance Gunn recognizes this, actually:
The conversation with Anne is not just about AI having lost its way but also about Gunn losing Everything. The people he has spent years trying to fit in with look at him and see the reason Fred is dead. He has no one and has so thoroughly internalized the values of his white co-workers that when he goes back to help Anne, he is separated from his old community by a vast ideological language barrier.
Brief aside that I might go into in more depth in a later post but I would like you to think about Fred’s death with regard to Gunn’s words here. A missed opportunity with Gunn’s character is exploring how he is impacted by hypervigilance and his tendency for blaming himself for events out of his control:
One interesting direction a rewrite (from a writer’s room with black writers in it) could go is having Gunn become the leader post 2x11 “Redefinition,” leading to closer interaction with the people of LA. AI becomes a much more high-profile member of the community and there is more focus on how Wolfram and Hart enables material harm in high poverty areas. I will talk about this more in the future because I think it is an interesting road to go down.
This post barely scratches the surface of my thoughts on Gunn. I haven’t even explained the take on valuing community fully. I think to fully present my take on that I need to write up at least another full post on it. There is also so much more to write about other things, like more alternate roles Gunn could have filled in AI as I talk about here:

Season 2: The Rankings
Whew. Oh boy.
They were still puttering about in season 1 to an extent. But now? Now they’ve really hit their stride. This season was a veritable chocolate box of delights and I ate my way through it. The overall myth arc was kind of nonsensical, but that emotional throughline? Christ. Spn buries SO MUCH emotional complexity into its leads, and they cashed in every cent in that two part finale. It packs one hell of a punch. And yeah, okay, I knew the broad strokes, the twists and turns. It’s hard not to be spoilered for a season of tv that aired over a decade ago. But reader! It mattered not!! I. Still. Wept. That’s when you know it’s the good kush. 1.) 2x12: NIGHTSHIFTER. This one just snagged the top spot by merit of its sheer ambition. Supernatural often feels like a very empty universe to me, just two guys and one car drifting from place to place. Which is fine, it makes for compelling TV, but they totally flipped the script here and this episode really dazzles precisely because of that contrast. It’s a huge, cinematic episode, a metropolitan setting full of uncontrollable elements, and it’s great to see Sam and Dean so profoundly vulnerable. The outside world is pressing up against the windows. They have sniper dots trained on them! They are, literally and figuratively, out of their depth! We’re not in Kansas any more, baby. God, I haven’t even mentioned the supporting characters. The entire mandroid rant deserves an Emmy. Victor Henrickson’s entrance! Heist movie antics! Agh! 10/10
2.) 2x07: THE USUAL SUSPECTS. Again this episode was a cut above precisely because it showed us what the brothers look like from the outside: sketchy as all hell. It’s so good when reality ensures, because it’s great to be reminded they lead objectively insane lives! Through Linda Blair’s eyes we get to see just how unknowable, feral and amoral they appear to the eyes of polite society. Put under a microscope like this, they’re scary guys! They’re just not socialised like normal people. They don’t really care about being arrested, or about the felonies. Getting arrested is an irritant above everything else. They’re still working the case from the inside. They’re professionals; excellent liars, and totally in sync with each other. The handwritten notes they pass, like delinquent school kids! A delight! The thrill lies in watching Blair slowly unwrap their strange logic, and unravel the mystery of both the brothers and the ghost. Ugh, what a great perspective shift. I’m 100% here for it. 10/10
3.) 2x09: CROATOAN. Ugh, this setting. Small Town Gothic, complete with eerie mist, hostile locals and creepy Stepford vibes. Sam really shone in this episode. He’s so soothing and giant, and it made his suffering at the end all the more devastaing. The real reason this episode ranks so highly is their conversation in the surgery. It just killed me. Dean’s sheer, bone-deep exhaustion, his admission that he’s tired of the life. Sam’s despair, because he knows Dean won’t leave. The performances were so steller. I can’t even really think too deeply about it because it makes me too crazy. 10/10
4.) 2x21: ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE: PART ONE. I loved this finale so much more than the finale in Season 1, LOL. It might just be because I’m more invested now, who knows. The opening of this episode is a piece of art: Boston playing on the car stereo, the rain, the small cafe, the lighting. Gorgeous. I love when they have to interact with ordinary people! It adds so much: texture, humour, personality! It draws things out of Sam and Dean that we just don’t see when they have each other to bounce off of. It was so good to see Ava and Andy again. “I just woke up in freakin’ Frontierland!” The gang’s all here, folks! This episode would rank higher, but recieves minus points for the long boring speech the demon gives Sam, and killing off the first gay in the show 0.2 seconds after her introduction. Anyway. The ending of course unzipped me; Dean cradling Sam’s dead body, muttering “It’s okay, it’s not even that bad.” The elation of their reunion, so devastaingly cut short! Sam, twenty two years old, bleeding out in the mud. The sheer, hopelessness of it all. The horror. My notes for the end of the episode simply read: “Dean oh Christ. Oh my God. Oh no.” It’s just one of those scenes that stay with you long after the credits start rolling. 9/10
5.) 2x20: WHAT IS AND WHAT SHOULD NEVER BE. I never thought I could be so profoundly upset by watching a man happily mowing a lawn. Dean’s trauma over the loss of his mother has undercut the whole show up until this point, and here it bursts to the fore. What really got me was the simplicity of it all. Just a sit-down dinner, an engagement. A beer on the porch. Fuck, he deserves it. He deserves everything. All the performances were great, they really served to show there’s a whole life in these AU characters. The fact it wasn’t all perfect was bizarrely more devastating. AU Sam’s weird straight hair and dorky jacket sealed the deal for me, as did his baffled terror in the warehouse. But even here, with no training and no idea what’s happening, he gets into the Impala! Because that’s his brother! Because I’m a huge baby I had to remove points because of how upsetting I found Sam’s quiet hostility towards Dean, HA. But that’s really just a testament to how well-realised their dynamic has become by the second season. 9/10
6.) 2x15: TALL TALES. Every single thing Sam does in any of Dean’s memories. Also alien slowdance set to “Lady in Red.” Also Bobby breaking them up like they’re petulant children. Gold, all of it gold. 9/10
7.) 2x11: PLAYTHINGS. So I’m a slut for a cool setting, obviously. Turns out, Supernatural did The Haunting of Bly Manor fifteen years ago. The swimming pool! The attic! Creepy dolls! The weird little playground! This episode has it all! I loved the saga between the ghost sister and the old lady, which would honestly make a killer movie in its own right. But I’m digressing. The main star of this episode was, of course, Dean’s profound and escalating sexual insecurities. “Well, you are kinda butch. People probably think you’re overcompensating.” FATALITY. I would’ve placed this one higher but the weird incestuous undertones kinda squicked me out... however, I did think we were meant to be creeped out by it, which is more than I can say for some other uh. Instances. It was, after all, beautifully paralelled at the end with the two sisters reuniting in death. “I can’t leave here, and you can’t leave me.” SHUDDER. Also, honestly, can Sam have one (1) breakdown on his own without Dean’s own emotional baggage taking over? Older siblings, smh. 9/10
8.) 2x22: ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE: PART TWO. This one ranks lower than part one purely because I thought the yellow-eyed demon’s overall plot was kinda nonsensical, and I cared not for John’s weird deux ex machina moment. Like do you expect me to feel sorry for that bitch? I don’t! Anyway, that being said, let’s move on to Dean’s eyes in the junkyard when Bobby asks him, “do you have that low an opinion of yourself?” They’re so flat. So dead, like a shark’s. He doesn’t need to say anything back, because it’s all over his face. That non-expression says it all. This is the culmination of the emotional arc that began with his savage beatdown of the Impala in episode 2x02. To call it survivor’s guilt wouldn’t even begin to cover what Dean goes through this episode. It’s all in Ackles’ performance; in the the way he yells, “What am I supposed to do now, Sammy?” The complete claustrophobia of it all. There’s nothing for it but to make the deal. Dean’s been moving inexorably towards this moment for the entire season. 9/10
9.) 2x13: HOUSES OF THE HOLY. What a kooky little episode! Magic fingers! Sam’s costcutter seance purchases! The scooby-doo placemat he uses as a makeshift altar! I love him, your honour. Obviously this episode has a lot of *~dramatic irony~* in it because of the later seasons, but it stands alone as a total banger. I was so gutted for Sam when the "angel” was revealed. So many good little Sam moments to be found in this episode. His soft, quiet little revelation that he prays every day. His awkward, earnest explanation to the horrified priest! Dean gets some great moments chasing down the would-be rapist down those dark, snow-covered streets. His speech to Sam where he explains his lack of belief is brief, but it’s a total gut punch. Rounding it off with Knockin on Heaven’s Door was just the cherry on top. 9/10
10.) 2x14: BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN. Ahaha I love the way Dean acts whenever Sam’s psychic powers come up. He treats him like a rebellious teen, it’s so funny. “What’s going on with you, Sam? Smokin’, drinkin’?” As if Sam’s behaviour was a) at all under his control or b) anything Dean wouldn’t HIMSELF do. Dean’s just like, this isn’t how I raised you! Truly hysterical. The whole sequence between Meg!Sam and Jo was fantastic and horrible. Sam’s huge physique is never threatening, but it really was in that moment. The interplay between them was totally spine-tingling. Meg’s impression Sam slowly crumbling away over the course of the episode was so compelling and I’m sure it will be a really fun rewatch now I know the *twist*. 9/10
Favourite lines this season:
The way Sam says “black cat’s bone” in 2x08
“You’re not gonna go kill somebody because a ghost told you to, are you insane?!” - Dean, 2x13
“Dean, this is a very serious investigation, we don’t have time for your blah blah blah blah.” - Sam (according to Dean), 2x15
“I’m fine, except for every single thing that’s happening.” - Ava, 2x21
#I feel like I'm exposing myself as a sam girl here#I love them equally I swear#supernatural#there's so much i left out like my comprehensive love for JO#what does she have? A KNIFE#I just didn't really dig NO EXIT as an episode sadly#spnwatch

2020 TEAs: For Your Consideration
Because it's the thing, and I'll regret it if I don't. I regretted it last year when I missed the chance. Really, I just want people to read my fic, and this is as good a way as any of getting it out there.
So.
At this time last year I was a raw tumblr newbie and had a grand total of one rumbelle fic published. I am so excited to have eligible offerings for you this time around. Everything I've written for OuaT can be found on my Ao3, with the exception of some scattered teasers for Never Let Go, the smutty 100k thing that ate my life.
Best Cover Art
I went on a cover art spree in August. From that collection, the cover for @kelyon 's fic Golden Cuffs was definitely the most popular, whether for its own merit, or because kelyon is amazing--who knows? I know the artwork wouldn't be half as good without the invaluable feedback from kelyon and @wayamy .
I'm photosensitive and tend to dim down colors that others may not find as bright as I do. Case in point, @timelordthirteen 's cover for Revenge Radio. The neon glow was an effect I'd never tried before. How it looks to other people's eyes? Who knows.
I had a lot of fun with the perspective in @thestraggletag 's cover for her fic Human Nature. Gold broke my heart and put it back together again. I want to squish him and hug him.
The cover for @killingkueen 's fic Creature was my first foray into vector art using GIMP. I'm in love with the elegant simplicity of the medium, and the tiny file size.
All of the covers were a lot of fun to make, and hey... if anyone is in touch with marchionessofblackadder ( @missblackwood-blog ), I'd really love to post their cover for Who Favor Fire to Ao3, but I'm sort of waiting to make sure it's okay first.
None of these pieces contain the pairing itself, which (imho) kind of misses the point.
I'm still getting the hang of the GIF thing. A lot of my GIFs were too big for tumblr, and don't load correctly. My favorite of them is Morraine's character study, which isn't rumbelle at all, but she's a cutie and her mother was rad as hell.
Best First Meeting
Belle first meets Rumplestiltskin in the dwarven mines in The Quill. He's filthy, and halfway mad, and mesmerised by the one person who seems to care for his well-being. That she also happens to be the first real human contact he's had in months doesn't hurt anything.
The Quill and A Life for a Life are both eligible for Best AU!OUAT. There's others much better, but they fit, which is supposedly the point of writing the For Your Consideration thing.
A Life for a Life has plenty of hurt/comfort, which puts it under 'comfort' in the fluff category, as well as 'hurts so good' in angst. Rumple throws the dagger to Belle in that snowy clearing, and later finds himself incapable of both holding it and keeping Baelfire safe.
I wouldn't call it dagger porn, because there is no porn, but there is daggerish-ness.
Spoiler: Zelena dies.
As intrinsic as Belle is to Rumple's character, Endless Years Between is more of a papa!Rumple and swanfire fic than rumbelle. Belle doesn't even appear in Cinnabons, because it's an AU of 2x14 that is mostly set in and en route to New York, and she only gets a brief far-in-the-future mention in Reprieve.
Also, I'm using tumblr on mobile, and I've heard the links can be wonky, so I hope this works.

The 100 Ask Game
Thanks for the tag @istilldothiseveryday ! This looks fun :)
1. What would you get arrested for on the Ark?
Protests? Can you get arrested for that on the Ark?
I dunno. I have a very strong personality I’d probably get into to some kind of trouble politically on the Ark 2. Would you take off your wristband when you landed on the ground?
Nah. I’m very much alike with Clarke in the way I think and as much as I may like to stick my middle finger up at the council if I was sent down on the dropship, I think I would see the value in having the Ark (aka. a functioning society) follow us down to the ground. I would be scared out of my mind of the Grounders - back up would be nice. 3. What would the necklace Finn would make for you look like? (Clarke: deer/Raven: a raven duh..)
Probably a mangled mess of metal cause I’d shut down that shit SO hard
4. If you could resurrect any MINOR character who would it be?
Maya. I understand that her surviving doesn’t really make any sense and they needed her to die for jasper’s arc or whatever BUT TBH SHE HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL??? Like, I stanned her team-up with Bellamy so hard; I’d literally sell my soul to satan for her to be incorporated into the delinquent’s group. Can you imagine her suiting up and going on hunting missions with Harper? Attending Lincoln and Bell’s sparring lessons? Sharing her music with Gina at the bar????? Helping out Abby and Jackson in medical???? Having heart to hearts with Clarke about her mom (and Clarke’s dad), who both died rebelling against the system??? Cracking jokes with Monty?? imagine if she went up to space with the squad, and what their relationship could have been like then! She could be their medic on board.
People always simplify Maya to her relationship with Jasper (and yes they were cute) but SHE COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH MORE. She was smart and courageous and selfless - she had fire and wit and strength and i m i s s her.
She’ll never see Earth, never breathe real air, never float on the water, never meet Riley
We’ll never get to see her grow up and it makes me sad
5. Create a squad of 5 characters to go on missions with. Who are they?
Raven and Monty because they’re GENIUSES obviously.
Lincoln and Bellamy so I don’t fucking DIE lmao - I know they got my back (my poor boys - both too selfless for their own good)
Clarke cause the Angry Cat game is strong and she’s got a real knack for not dying even when she should, probably, be 110% dead 6. Minty or Briller?
Briller. Tragically, Bryan only started to interest me in 4x02 when they gave him more dimension by visiting farm station.
Also ... how can you say no to chickens? 7. What would your name be in Trigedasleng? (example: Octavia=Okteivia…just make it up!)
Uhhh. Keit? Kayt?
What a lame name 8. Thoughts on Finn? Some people hate him, and others love him, so I’m curious
i don’t know him
9. Be honest. How willing would you have been to take the chip without knowing all the horrible things it does?
I doubt I would take it. Unknown drug with unknown effects? Sounds pretty sketch. I don’t see myself going for that - I’m a generally skeptical person. 10. What character do you relate to most & What character do you like the least not including the obvious ones like Pike, etc…
Definitely relate the most to my INTJ queen Clarke Griffin!
And Octavia is probably my least favourite character. I can see why some people like her and the merit in her character arc I guess but tbh she just IRRITATES me to no end - she has certain characteristics that really grate at me. Obviously, some characters are horrible people (like Dr. Tsing ew) but Octavia just infuriates me because of some of her characteristics.
She’s not for me. 11. Describe your delinquent outfit. (Would you wear something like Murphy’s jacket with the spikey red shoulder patch or have a trademark like Jasper’s goggles? Be creative, yet practical)
Something practical cause I’m boring.
Cargo pants. Ark-issued t-shirt. And a nice warm jacket. The jackets the characters wear on this show are pathetic - they barely look like they keep the wind out. And only Bellamy zips his up. smh vancouver is colder than it looks - all that humidity
As for a trademark thing?
I’d be the only arker with an “I <3 BELLAMY BLAKE” t shirt probably
12. Favorite type of mutant animal?
Bellamy’s three-headed doggo he hasn’t found yet
anyway i still have hope
13. What would your job be on the Ark?
I think I’d follow in Raven/Monty’s paths a bit and go into something mathematical like engineering but knowing myself I’d probably end up moving into politics later on. I have too many strong opinions to put up with the Ark system lol 14. Would you have willingly pumped Ontari’s heart if Abby asked?
Oh HELL no. I’d probably throw up all over it. I’m sorry Clarke. It’s not like that’s ACTUALLY how blood transfusions work anyway *intense side-eye at The 100 “science”* 15. If Lxa wasn’t Heda, but she’s still alive right? then who would make the best commander?
None of them. Bellamy x Clarke leadership duo. I don’t care about the Grounder commander system - it’s all kinda bs anyway.
None of the individual leaders on this show have done a good job. They’ve always functioned best as a team (which is why I want the Bellarke leader couple back) 16. If you were a grounder, then where would you live and who would be your mentor?
I mean I know she went all cray cray and they all died but probably Luna’s rig. I don’t want shit to do with the other clans, who are always warring with each other. And I think Nyko would be a pretty good mentor. I’d like to learn medicine. 17. How would you act if you ate the hallucinogenic nuts like Jasper and Monty?
Let’s be real, I’d probably start crying about how Bellamy and Clarke are in love and wHy cAn’T tHeY jUSt bAnG aLrEAdY ... and Finn would be real mad about it if he was in charge of picking my ass off the floor like in “Day Trip”
ha! I think it would be worth it 18. How would you have dealt with Charlotte’s crime? A more John Murphy approach or Bellamy Blake?
I mean ... I definitely wouldn’t lead a manhunt to kill a thirteen year old girl so I can say with a lot of confidence that I would NOT follow the Murphy route. Not so sure I’d just pardon her though. I think the delinquents needed some kind of prison system. Charlotte did murder a kid. Even though she was a child, there probably should have been some kind of consequence for that (though not killing her would be ideal) 19. Who should be the Chancellor, if anyone?
Bellamy Blake and Clarke Griffin co-leading motherfucking power couple
I will accept no less in canon. just let me fucking have this
20. Mount Weather had a lot of modern commodities. (example: Maya’s Ipod)What is the one thing you would snatch while there?
Oh, the iPod for sure. I literally don’t know if I could live without music. I’m listening to it ALL the time - I’m listening to it right now. RAIGN is playing *cries in Bellarke* 21. Do you think you’d have caught the virus spread through camp or would you have been immune like O.ctavia?
I’m a weak ass bitch so probably
and on the basis that I don’t like any of the people who ARE immune then maybe I don’t wanna be - what’s the point of surviving in a world where you’ve only got Finn Collins and O.ctavia Blake for company? 22. What would your grounder tattoos look like? Hairstyle? War paint?
I want whatever makeup L.exa’s got from Polisephora. You think she’d share some of that eyeliner? 23. Favorite quote?
“Shouldn’t there be more to life than just surviving?” - Clarke Griffin (2x14)
24. Can you forgive Murphy for his actions? How about Bellamy?
Yeah. I feel like we’re kind of past this point in the plot. They’ve both showed development and change and I think we’re definitely at a place in the story where both of them are intended as sympathetic characters to the audience. 25. If one of the characters was in the Hunger Games, who would have the best shot at winning? NOOOOO ALREADY SO MUCH DEATH NOOOO
I’m going to answer this as if all of our characters were thrown into the ring and I have to predict which one would win.
I wanna say Octavia because I think she’s independent and - er - determined enough to take out someone she knows if it came down to being the two of them to grant her own freedom and survival. Whereas, someone like Clarke or Bellamy or Kane would probably just nightlock it cause they’re self-sacrificial af.
But then I also think maybe Murphy ‘cause cockroaches never die (thank you Raven). 26. Least favorite ship? Favorite ship? NOT INCLUDING CL OR BC
Least favourite ship that people actually like? (aka. not something like Clarke and Jaha)
Probably B.echo (as a romantic relationship, not necessarily sexual). Hate to be basic and predictable but I think I would actually die if it were endgame.
FAVOURITE SHIP THAT ISN’T BELLARKE
how dare
If you asked me this a few months ago I would have told ya Niytavia but now that we’ve gotten more teasers about Octavia’s character in Season 5 I’m not sure if I want her anywhere near her (I like Niylah when she’s hot, but not cooked, ya feel?)
So maybe Jasper and Raven. Idk. I liked their friendship. Still bitter about Season 4.
I don’t really ship anything besides Bellarke that much. They’re an anomaly for me. 27. A song that should be included in the next season, like when Radioactive was? If there had to be another guest star like Shawn Mendes on the show, who would you want to make a cameo?
Tbh RAIGN goes hard af so anything by her would be pretty lit.
I mostly only associate songs I listen to with Bellarke when I’m applying them to the show so I’ve got like 100+ songs that I would love to use for them but its hard to think of a context where they would fit in with the tone of the show
And I want Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir to cameo. They don’t need to say anything - they just need to stare soulfully into each other’s eyes in the background.
... or makeout
Whatever. 28. What would you do if you were stuck in the bunker with Murphy for all that time?
Steal the wine. Have karaoke battles. Drunkenly cry because RaVEn iS sO sTrONg and sO gOoD (and he would cry with me - he WOULD).
Gossip about Bellamy’s butt.
The possibilities are endless, really.
29. Opinion on Emori? Roan?
I don’t really have a strong opinion on Emori. I feel like our knowledge of her is still so limited. She’s still barely interacted with anyone besides Murphy. But I’m guessing that may change in Season 5. I’d like to see her interact more with Bellamy, since they both have siblings (and Emori was the disgraced child too, just like O). Not many people can relate in that sense.
I really liked Roan but TO BE HONEST I found him more intriguing in Season 3 than in Season 4. He was literally up there in like my top four or five characters in Season 3 - I was so excited to learn more about him! In Season 4 he didn’t have much of a character arc, he was just kind of there to look moody and badass.
But honestly Roan is one of those characters that I don’t think was necessarily intended to be funny (as opposed to characters like Jasper and Wick) but his interactions with Clarke, Bellamy, and Echo offered up the occasional piece of comedy gold. He went too soon. Forever mourning the bromance that he and Bellamy could have had.
30. Would you want to be an extra that is killed off in a brutal way?
I wanna be Satisfied Girl.
Or Riley. Everyone loves that guy
so ... no? maybe? does it come with the job? 31. A character you’d like to learn more about and get flashbacks of?
CADOGAN. @metastation has ruined me; now I just want more!
Also any of the Eligius crew tbh 32. A character you’d bang?
Omg like all of them.
Bellamy and Raven are up there tho.
And highkey Bree could get it. She looks like she knows what she’s doing.
Echo’s hot but i dunno chains and choking aren’t really my thing
Anywayyyyy I’m way too late to the party so I won’t tag anyone but like if you feel like doing this GO AHEAD ! And you can tag me in your post if you want too

Thoughts on Bangel and BTVS in general?
Bangel:
Bangel are perfection in my eyes and one of the best love stories written on television ever. They’re the Romeo and Juliet whose story is actually a million times better than the original story of Romeo and Juliet - star-crossed lovers that were never meant to have their happily ever after but that were genuinely soul mates and fiercely in love.
I don’t think any relationship has evoked the emotion in me that Bangel’s has because it’s just so damn tragic. When it comes to love generally people view death of one half of the ship as being the most heartbreaking thing that can happen, but Buffy and Angel proved that that isn’t true. Meeting the love of your life and soul mate and never being able to be with them because of circumstance is actually in some ways much more tragic. Their love isn’t unrequited, they both love each other and want to spend their lives together but they just can’t because of who they are and the way the world is. And no matter how much they tried to deny that or work around it, in the end they realised that they had to simply accept it and try to move on.
What I love about Buffy and Angel is that even though they accepted that they couldn’t be together, they never truly stopped loving each other or yearning to be together. They accepted that they would be a part of each other and their love would always exist in the same way they accepted they couldn’t be together. It’s a truly transcendent love, which is why whenever they saw each other they always immediately fell back into a natural rhythm of just being two people deeply in love.
A big part of what makes me love Bangel is also the chemistry between Sarah Michelle and David Borneanaz. I don’t think I’ve ever seen chemistry like that between two actors before. When you’re watching them on screen it’s just the most believable and real thing. I think they connected in such a profound way and that really brought the Bangel relationship alive on-screen in a completely unique way to any other TV relationship. And Sarah in particular is such a talented actress that I could literally feel her heartbreak over losing Angel pouring through the screen and into me. The scenes in 2x14 and 3x20 where she cries over Angel actually make my chest feel weird. And don’t even get me started on the ending of ‘I Will Remember You’. The desperation, passion and heartbreak in that scene is too much to bear.
BTVS:
When it comes to BTVS as a general show, I don’t necessarily feel as strongly about it as I do Bangel. The first time I tried to watch it I didn’t manage to get past the middle of season 1 and the only reason I got that far is because I forced myself. When I tried to watch it again, I did eventually get into it (but it took me a while to warm up to it) and then ended up watching 4-5 episodes everyday for weeks until I’d finished.
I do like BTVS, but I don’t love it. It’s not a show I’d class as being one of my favourites or one I’d go back and re-watch (except for the Bangel scenes, because you know, it’s Bangel). The reason for that is that I’m not a huge fan of the main characters and I hugely disliked the progression of Spike and Buffy’s relationship in the later seasons.
With the characters, I only liked Willow for the first few seasons but when she broke up with Oz and started dabbling in magic I took a dislike to her, I was never fond of Xander or Anya and found them annoying, Spike was okay sometimes but I was never comfortable with his relationship with Buffy and felt he overstayed his welcome, Tara was always so bland and boring, Cordelia was annoying and a character I never took to (although I feel like she had a lot of potential and I’d probably love her on ATS, which I still have yet to get around to watching) and although I appreciate Dawn now, when I watched the show she also annoyed the hell out of me.
That leaves Giles, Buffy, Oz and Angel as being the only characters I actually like. And there were times when even Buffy annoyed me and Angel was bland and boring with all his brooding and what not.
I’d definitley say that the earlier seasons were better mostly because all of my favourite characters were still around and I was much more invested in the plots and what happened to them. When Giles, Angel and Oz left the show I could feel their absence and my enjoyment of watching the show decreased slightly. I also massively missed Bangel being on my screen post-season 3 and was bored out of my brains having to watch her relationship with Riley (let’s be real here, watching paint dry would’ve been more exciting).
When it comes to Spike and Buffy, I have to admit that when it came to the point where their relationship started to develop (season 6) it got very, very, very hard for me to watch. I’m very tough skinned when it comes to what I watch, I’ve been a huge fan of horror since I was a young teenager so have watched every gruesome, violent and twisted movie you could ever imagine and excluding ‘I Spit On Your Grave’, I don’t think anything has actually made me feel as damn uncomfortable as watching Buffy and Spike’s relationship (particularly when it comes to shows). Everything about it was just bloody awful and although I appreciate the writers for portraying Buffy’s relationship with Spike in season 6 as being largely tied to her depression, it didn’t make it any less difficult to watch and was kinda invalidated in season 7 when they chose to ignore that and basically romantisise them. Nothing about watching that unfold was enjoyable and as someone that was never overly fond of Spike’s character anyway, he had way, way, way too much focus in the later seasons, when in reality he was a villain that should’ve been killed in the early seasons.
Putting characters and ships aside I respect and like BTVS for being a show that had a strong, multi-layered and well written female lead (who until this day still remains to be one of the best written female protagonists of any show I’ve ever seen) and for exploring real, complex and dark themes such as death, grief, depression, homosexuality (though not always in the best way, but this was the 90′s so you have to give them their dues), love, identity etc. Buffy’s battle with depression in season 6 was, from my perspective, one of the most realistic depictions of depression I’ve seen on TV and her grief following Joyce’s death was too and even Willow’s dark arc after losing Tara was a realistic view of what grief can do to a person (although I personally hated that plot).
These are the elements of the show that stick in my mind and cement BTVS in my head as a great show. And of course, I have to take my hat off to Whedon for creating one of the best love stories on TV.

🍳 Headcanons
Childhood:
Ian sees his birth mother get shot in front of him; as she fell forward the 1 Rand coin dropped from her pocket, he picked it up and pocketed it before the men could notice. Due to his birth mother being killed in front of him, he has feel a need, an urge to have a mother or mother-figure in his life.
Roman’s rabbit at the orphanage was a white rabbit, which he named Floyd. Alice was the only who knew he named his rabbit.
When Ian found out he was going to be formally adopted by Ellen Briggs, on his first flight to America he cried himself to sleep out of relief and joy. He finally had a mother and he was going somewhere safe.
Icecream. TBA*
Roman’s favourite sweet is white chocolate. He found loads of it in a cupboard one time as a child in an unattended store cupboard in the orphanage and ate so much, he felt sick.**
Adulthood:
Roman has a male black rabbit called Bobby. He picked the rabbit up from rescue as a kit, once he was old enough to be taken from his mother. Roman picked him up four days before Remi flew out to Afghanistan.
As an adult, Roman always keeps some white chocolate in a coolbox and takes it with him, whether travelling by car, motorbike or other mode of transport.**
Roman also likes strawberries, fudge and treacle toffee. Remi gives Roman treacle toffee if he is annoying her, to shut up him on purpose.
Post-ORION:
TBA*
Remi, Back from the Dead:
Usually if Remi becomes ill she wouldn’t let the illness stand in her way however once she is too ill to function and has to stay in bed. As stubborn and resilient she is, Remi attempts to resist when Roman and Shepherd tell her they are going to carry on planning minor details whilst she rests up. Remi is frustrated and annoyed but can’t walk the length of her bedroom without being overcome with nausea. Oscar is on “chicken soup” duty. If he’s not with the Viper Kings, Roman spends every spare moment checking on Remi, even though she insists she’s fine - much to Oscar’s annoyance. Roman brings her cups of tea, and asks her how she is and lets her know if he and Shepherd have made any progress/changes to the plan. One night, Remi had been particularly bad so Roman stayed with her for most of the night. Shepherd found him the next morning, fast asleep in the chair besides Remi’s bed.**
Forming the Plan:
In the mornings Roman makes himself, Remi and Shepherd cups of tea or coffee so they have something hot to perk them up as the three of them go over plans for their next move (the tattoos) with Remi infiltraiting the FBI as a Jane Doe. It is something he likes doing, often roping Oscar in to make the family breakfast. It’s actually one of the rare occasions that Shepherd, Remi and Roman could be called a “normal” family. Shepherd sits in a chair with a hot cup of tea on the side of her desk, still sleepy from having just woken up so she’s a little bit quiet. She and Roman share a smile talking over blueprints and plans, while Remi is jotting down points they may have missed taking a drink of her tea, as does Roman.**

Even though Roman said he hated Jane because she ZIP’d him, still loves her with all his heart. He just feels betrayed that he was lied to by the one person he thought he could trust. Roman may forgive Jane one day; but it is going to take a lot to rebuild trust between the siblings.
Roman sides with Shepherd during the assault on the New York Office because he wanted to get out of the cell he had been kept in since Jane “brought him in”. He is still brooding over the fact Jane wiped his memories. His aim misses Jane and Kurt on purpose, to warn them to get out of the way or be killed by other Sandstorm members.
2x22, Lepers Repel:

01/21/19 I had a bonus workout today and will have another tomorrow. Today I lifted only no cardio. I ate 2163 calories with a deficit of 150. I did circuit training working my back and arms I felt lean, energized and motivated. It was a great workout. While shopping last week I found some great tasting veggie chips. The entire bag had 420 calories, 45 carbs and 24 grams of fat. That’s a great amount for someone who eats under 100 grams of fat each day. I enjoyed the whole bag while vegging out this afternoon. I cleaned a bit after then hit the gym by 5:30. My average has been about 75 grams of fat daily so something like this will not affect me too much. My total fat for today was 80 grams. Pop chips is another great tasting snack food that has good macros. What are some of your snack foods while vegging out? Please comment below. Even on my cheat meals and cheat days I still track my calories. I have incorporated macro counting into my lifestyle just like working out 3 days a week rain or shine. You are what you eat and you become who you hang around so watch what you eat and more importantly who you hang around. And now on to the workout.
