Makin’ a Cake

I’m making a sweet sweet chocolate marble cake atm and I was inspired.

Bing tries to make his dear boyf a cake. Unfortunately, he’s useless in the kitchen. Fortunately, Google decides to help him out in the end.

Google bolted into the kitchen in a hurry, desperate for a glass or bowl or something full of water, Oliver’s current project had caught fire, he and the other extensions were panicking, Bing was no where to be found, and --

Google was greeted by the sight of a mess.

He skidded to a halt, eyes wide as he surveyed the damage. Clumps of something red that vaguely resembled cake better stuck to everything, like something had exploded. Flour and coco powder coated the kitchen island in a thick layer, various bowls and pans and burnt remnants of something lay scattered about the rest of the counterspace. And in the certain of it all stood Bing, covered head to toe in batter and flour.

Bing offered a sheepish smile, waving with a spatula. “Hey...Google...”

Google raised an eyebrow, planting his hands on his hips as all urgency bled out of his system. “Bing, what are you doing?”

Bing swallowed. “Uh, making a cake.” He glanced over his shoulder at the disaster. “Or rather...attempting to. I um...wanted to surprise you. Red velvet’s your favorite, right?”

Google sighed, his core humming loudly, though he couldn’t stop the soft, fond smile that spread across his face (the fire was the extensions’ problem now). “While I appreciate the gesture, Bing, there’s a reason you’re not allowed in the kitchen alone.” He raised an eyebrow again, gesturing to the damage. Bing looked crestfallen, and Google quickly added on. “But, help me clean this all up before Dark throws a fit, and I’ll help you make a proper cake.”

Bing rapidly lit up again, core stuttering in his excitement. Google couldn’t help but chuckle at how puppy-like Bing was. “Really?!”

Google smiled. “Yes. Come on, where are those rubber gloves so we can wash all this up and not die from water?”

Bing raced away, sticking his head in a cupboard. “There over here! At least that’s where I put them, hold on --”

In the end, the kitchen ended up just as big as a disaster, Google and Bing giggling to themselves with batter in their hair and staining their clothes. But a perfect red velvet cake sat on the island, perfectly frosted with cream cheese frosting and little red sprinkles decorating the top.

And if they grabbed the cake and some forks to take it up to the office and just eat it straight off the tray with the extensions, well, that’s their business.
