Recorded for Voiceteam 2024's Soporific Challenge (Make an audio fanwork that is designed to help people sleep.) I chose this fic because it almost feels like a children's tale in the way that Momo sees the characters we all know and love. Pod-together is a fandom fest where writers and podficcers create together—the writer creating text specifically intended for audio, and the podficcer creating the audio. This is our 14th year running this challenge, and participants usually have a ton of fun and create amazing stuff, with everything from the typical style of fannish stories to submissions with filk, poetry, found footage/audio drama, sound effects, massive multi-voice collaborations, immersive soundscapes, playable games, and multiple languages.

Sokka scoffs.

“Spirits are bullshit,” he says.

“Okay,” Zuko says, “so what do you call this?”

He waves his hand generally at them both, the state of them. Zuko is still on his back, half-incapacitated; Sokka is sitting up, but hardly better off.

“There’s a rational explanation,” Sokka says.

Zuko arches his eyebrow.

“Uh huh,” he says.

“There is,” Sokka insists. “Stop that. Don’t smirk at me.”

“So what is it,” Zuko says, smirking.

Sokka thinks for a moment, wildly.

“Static… electricity,” he says.

Zuko bursts out laughing.

“Okay, okay, I get it,” Sokka says, ears burning. “It’s a working theory.”

Bragging time! I got a new surprise podfic!

This is of a silly little ATLA x Princess Bride crossover (sorta), in which post-series Toph and Zuko hunt down Sokka's missing space sword in one of the Earth Kingdom's fire swamps.

There are now two podfic versions of this fic, so you can listen to both and pick your favorite, or decide which one to listen to depending on your mood, or listen to both every time, just to appreciate the nuance and differences in the performances!
