Trans rights are still under attack in the United States. Please visit our website linked below to learn about your state and contact your reps. Here's a thread of today's updates:
A bathroom bill denies access to public restrooms by gender or trans identity. They increase danger without making anyone any safer and have even prompted attacks on cis and trans people alike. Many national health and anti-sexual assault organizations oppose these bills.
Arkansas SB270 was filed today. This is an extremely aggressive bathroom bill which would make it a criminal offense for trans adults to use bathrooms consistent with their gender identity if a minor is present, deeming it "sexual indecency with a child," a felony offense. Healthcare bills go against professional and scientific consensus that gender affirming care saves lives. Denying access will cause harm.
Providers are faced with criminal charges, parents are threatened with child abuse charges, and intersex children are typically exempted.
Oklahoma SB613 passed in the Senate today and was sent to the House. Tennessee HB1215 passed in its first committee and was sent to the House Insurance Committee yesterday. Idaho H0071 passed in the House yesterday and is now with the Senate.
Public performance bans, or "drag bans," restrict access for folks who are gender non-conforming in any way.
They loosely define "drag" as any public performance with an “opposite gender expression,” as sexual in nature, and inappropriate for children.
This also pushes trans individuals out of public spaces.
Tennessee HB0030 passed in its first committee and was sent to the House Finance, Ways, and Means Committee yesterday. Tennessee HB0009 passed its first committee and was sent to the House Calendar and Rules Committee yesterday.
Schooling / Parental Rights bills force schools to misgender or deadname students, ban instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity, and make schools alert parents if they suspect a child is trans.
They remove life-saving affirmation and support for trans youth.
Iowa HF8, a "Don't Say Gay or Trans" bill, passed in subcommittee yesterday and is now with the House Education committee. Wyoming SF0133, which already passed in the Senate, is now with the House H04 - Education Committee.
Sex designation bills make it harder for trans folks to have IDs, such as birth certificates, that match their gender identity.
They can force a male or female designation based upon sex assigned at birth.
Some ban a non-binary “X” marker or require surgery to qualify for ID updates
Iowa HF290 was introduced and sent to the House State Government Committee yesterday. This is a sex designation bill which defines gender as sex assigned at birth. Kansas SB180, a sex definition bill, had a hearing this morning, but no vote was held.
Most sports bills force schools to designate teams by sex assigned at birth. They are often one-sided and ban trans girls from playing on teams consistent with their gender identity.
Some egregious bills even force invasive genital examinations on student athletes.
Yesterday Tennessee HB0306 had its action deferred in the House K-12 subcommittee until next week on the 21st.
In other bills that either fit multiple categories or stand on their own, we have: West Virginia HB3503 was introduced and sent to the House Education Committee yesterday. This is an "anti-diversity" bill which prohibits requesting diversity statements for admissions and employment and bans DEI activities (e.g., training on gender identity). It also bans state funding for DEI offices and staff.
North Dakota HB1205, a book ban, is on the House floor.
It's not too late to stop these and other hateful anti-trans bills from passing into law. YOU can go to <http://transformationsproject.org/> to learn more and contact your representatives

Which oc takes the worst care of themselves? Which one takes the best care of themself, aside from just for appearance(like sleeping/eating enough, etc.)? (Try to do it by scale- like, if a poor oc eats whatever they can get their hands on is taking more care of themself than someone who won't sleep even when they can and should. If that makes sense.)
self-care? what's that?
honestly i have no idea where to start with this, but it's late so i don't wanna overthink it
Aurora: she's a star athlete so she probably takes the best care of her body. her mind? not so much, given that she spends all her free time training, she doesn't have any room in her life for friends. 8/10
Chelsea: good diet, good exercise, good mental health, perfect 10/10
CJ: he eats well and gets good sleep, but that's about it, 5/10
Connor: does what he can, overall 2/10
Daniel: just a step up from Connor, 3/10
Evangeline: doesn't do self-care due to catholic guilt, 4/10
Francesco: self-care? get the fuck outta here, take that shit to new jersey, 4/10
Ivan: he gets good sleep, but he eats garbage and he's a comedian so of course his mental health is in the toilet, 3/10
Jennifer: just because she takes care of herself doesn't mean she has to be happy about it, 9/10
Luke: when you're the only one keeping your family from falling apart, you tend to skip on the self care, 4/10
Mark: he's all about that healthy lifestyle, but sleep is for the weak! 6/10
Nancy: tries her best. 5/10
Penny: works hard to stay healthy but is slowly going insane, 6/10
Sheila: stays fit & healthy but doesn't sleep well, 7/10
Sofia: loves her sleep, does karate, gymnastics & swims in her spare time, but you can pry her junk food from her cold dead hands, 6/10
Storm: dude studies medicine, of course he takes care of himself, (granted it's veterinary medicine but regardless) 10/10
Virginia: she gains weight easily so she works super hard to stay skinny which means she often doesn't eat, and she does late nights coming up with new designs, 4/10
i figured i'd stick with the revival cast for this one. don't even get me started on the secondary cast.
#post#total drama#td revival#my ocs#this was such a difficult question to answer but i hope you liked it

Affiliations: US Navy (formerly), SEAL Team Zulu (formerly), Atlas Corporation (formerly), Sentinel Task Force
Height: 5'9
Gender: Female
Status: Alive/W.I.A
Build: Athletic
Marks: US Navy SEAL Insignia tattoo on left forearm
Background:
Born in Southern California, Camille Brooks loved the ocean, always looking forward to vacations to the beach. She became interested in the military at a very young age, and was often playing "soldiers" with the neighborhood boys. She fit in, and as she grew older and excelled at school, she graduated top of her class with a diploma. But college wasn't what she wanted, so she signed up for the US Navy as a seaman. Alongside her were her childhood best friends, and they rose together through the ranks and impressed the officers and higher ranked NCOs. At the end of basic training, they went their separate ways, and at the end of Advanced Individual Training, Brooks only had her best friend and boyfriend, Lukas West, by her side.
Two years go by and a position is opened in a newly formed Navy SEAL unit, and Brooks managed to beat the other competitors and got the spot immediately. With the world recovering from the Second Cold War, a new war was boiling and instead of governments against each other, it was governments fighting together against terrorism.
In 2050, Brooks and her unit, SEAL Team Zulu, would arrive in Bolivia to infiltrate a city that is run by a terrorist group that is planning to overthrow the Bolivian Government and gain access to the newly acquired missiles the country was given. While the mission was successful, Brooks was the only remaining soldier, and over 10,000 Navy soldiers died, including her fiancee, Lukas.
Upon arriving back to the US, Brooks was visited by CEO of Atlas Corporation, Jonathan Irons, who gave his condolences and offered her a position at Atlas. Brooks, having been honorably discharged due to injuries to the head that can affect her focus and succession in the military, and having nothing left, agrees and joins Atlas.
She would be taken to Camp David, an Atlas basic training facility in Virginia, shortly after attending all the funerals of her comrades and Lukas. She impressed everyone with her marksmanship skills and high intellect, and was given an opportunity to go to college by Irons. She accepted and got a doctorate degree in psychology, finishing top of her class once again and managing to get done with college in five years, all while continuing to fight as an elite soldier for Atlas.
Brooks is in charge of Gideon and his new squad of soldiers containing a new member, Jack Mitchell. They would go on missions in hope of bringing the world back from the brink of collapse, only to discover after the death of terrorist Hades, that Irons is planning world domination.
Brooks defects from Atlas with the others and vows to get revenge for every fallen soldiers that repelled against Atlas.

Paris Olympic 2024: Digital Twins Technology Will Make Olympic Games More Efficient
The world eagerly awaits the Paris Olympics 2024, starting from 26th July 2024. At the Paris Olympics, we witness the extraordinary performances of athletes and the latest innovations in modern technology.
The Paris Olympics are a game-changer, as it is the first in history to be completely digitalized for a futuristic games experience. Digital Twins technology is used at the Olympic venues, the same technology will also be used for the Paris Paralympic 2024.
Before we move ahead let’s understand what exactly Digital Twins technology is.
What is Digital Twins technology?
What if I say, to host the Paris Olympics 2024, the organizing committee and stakeholders designed the two same models of the Olympic Village, I know this sounds funny, but this is true and this is what Digital Twins can do.
In simple language Digital Twins means the virtual and the exact model of the physical entity, it may be a building, machine, stadium, or an entire city.
Let’s make it simpler from the above example.
There are two identical Olympic villages, one is the real place where the actual games are happening, and the other is a virtual version. Sensors fitted in the real village to collect data on things like weather, lights, and sound. This data is sent to the virtual village, where we can see everything and make changes in real-time. This way, we can keep everything running smoothly during the games.
History of Digital Twins
The thought of Digital Twins was first introduced in the year 1960 by NASA for the Apollo mission, however, the name Digital Twin was not given at that time. The idea was to test and evaluate the possible solutions from Earth.
Dr. Michael Grieve from the University of Michigan was the first who use Digital Twins when he was working on the project Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). Later, other industries also started implementing Digital Twins technology.
How Digital Twins Enhance the Olympics?
Digital Twins offers a realistic view to the Olympic Games organizing committee and the stakeholders so that they can plan and visualize all the aspects including transport, crowd management, security, etc., and fix them in real-time.
The organizing committee partnered with the UK-based company One Plan. One Plans GIS (Geographic Information Software) mapping tool creates digital venues that show the entire space from any angle and in any weather situation. This will help to see the lighting, audio, cameras, televisions, etc. and, according to this, can make the possible changes without visiting the site.
Some additional important uses of digital twin technology in the Paris Olympics 2024.
Decision-making support planning
Digital twins provide real-time data and analytics, which help event organizers with processes such as security planning, ticket pricing, and more.
Post Event Analysis
Digital twins store all the data collected during ongoing events, which can be reviewed post-event. This helps organizers calculate the success of the event and identify key areas for improvement.
Interoperability:
The 3D digital twins are completely interoperable with the 2D maps in the system, when any change happens immediately it will show in 3D. This gives organizers complete access to real- time plans for every venue so they can plan collaboratively.
Paris 2024 will be a landmark Olympic and Paralympic Games, driven by innovation and sustainability,” – Paul Foster (Chief Executive and Founder of OnePlan).
Digital Twins in Swim Training
The US Swim team will also use the Digital Twins at the 2024 Olympics games to enhance their performances.
Ken Ono mathematics professor from the University of Virginia and his team created the digital twins of swimmers and worked with US swimming team members. In a study, they found that the movement of the replicate model of the original swimmer offers valuable insights.
They said digital twins help to find what factors affect the swimmer’s performance like power, muscle strength, and range of motion, this will help to make changes in the swimmers and enhance their performance.
Scientists made a suite of sensors for US swimmers they called it an Inertial Measurement Unit. This suit captures the high-resolution data with 512 frames of information a second, this is 20 times higher than the conventional methods.
Let’s understand the industries and the market size of Digital Twins
Industries actively use Digital Twins technology
In the upcoming years, more industries are set to integrate Digital Twins technology to transform their operations and achieve greater efficiencies.
Market size of Digital Twins
In 2022, the market size of Digital Twins was $6.9 billion, in 2023 it was $10.1 billion. According to research firm Markets And Markets, the Digital Twins market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 61.3%, increasing from $6.9 billion to $110.1 billion by the end of 2028.
We already discussed that the Digital Twins have made a significant impact across various industries such as transportation, construction, and healthcare, but their application in the Olympic Games is particularly noteworthy.
This innovative use of Digital Twins technology offers a unique opportunity to explore how it can enhance the management and experience of one of the world’s most prestigious sporting events. This will open doors for other sports to utilize digital twins.

In the world of martial arts, where different styles come together and philosophies mix, Jiu-Jitsu training for adults in Virginia shines as a unique and life-changing art form. It goes beyond physical exercise, offering adults a complete experience that includes strength, mental toughness, and a sense of belonging. Jitsu calls out to those who want more than a simple workout, looking for a lifestyle that transforms their bodies and approaches challenges on and off the training ground.
Here are the top ten reasons adult jiu-jitsu training is worth embarking on, providing many advantages beyond the usual fitness routines. Take that first step onto the mat.
Holistic Fitness Mastery:
At the heart of Jiu-Jitsu lies a commitment to holistic fitness. Training involves a dynamic fusion of strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular exercises. From executing precise techniques to engaging in rigorous drills, adults embark on a fitness journey that transforms their physique, ensuring a well-rounded approach to health.
Practical Self-Defense Empowerment:
Jiu-Jitsu isn't merely about mastering moves for the training mat; it's about acquiring practical self-defense skills for real-life scenarios. Adults gain confidence in their ability to protect themselves, fostering empowerment and a heightened sense of security in their day-to-day lives.
Mental Resilience Development:
The challenges faced in Jiu-Jitsu training go beyond physical exertion. Adults navigating the intricacies of the sport develop mental resilience. They learn to stay focused under pressure, adapt to unpredictable situations, and face adversity with a determined mindset, skills invaluable in various life aspects.
Effective Stress Relief:
The rhythmic flow of Jiu-Jitsu, combined with the intensity of training sessions, serves as a potent stress-relief mechanism. Adults find solace in the controlled chaos of the mat, allowing them to release tension, clear their minds, and experience the therapeutic benefits of physical activity.
Community and Camaraderie Building:
Jiu-Jitsu is not just a solitary pursuit; it's a communal experience that forges lasting connections. Adults training together create a tight-knit community. The shared challenges, victories, and mutual support build a camaraderie that extends beyond the training mat, forming lifelong friendships.
Continuous Learning and Intellectual Stimulation:
The journey in Jiu-Jitsu is a perpetual process of learning and growth. Adults appreciate the intellectual stimulation of mastering new techniques, strategizing on the mat, and consistently pushing their boundaries. It's a sport that fuels the mind as much as it does the body.
Versatility for All Fitness Levels:
Jiu-Jitsu is inclusive, accommodating practitioners of various fitness levels. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or a novice, the training can be adapted to suit your abilities. The inclusivity of the sport ensures that adults of all backgrounds and fitness levels can reap its benefits.
Enhanced Body Awareness and Coordination:
Jiu-Jitsu demands heightened body awareness and coordination. Adults become attuned to their movements, refining their coordination and balance. The improved sense of body awareness enhances their performance on the mat, translating into heightened agility in everyday activities.
Healthy Lifestyle Integration:
Jiu-Jitsu is not just a workout; and it's a lifestyle. Adults naturally integrate the principles learned on the mat into their daily lives. Mindful eating, regular exercise, and positive habits are integral to a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.
Goal Achievement and Recognition:
Advancing in Jiu-Jitsu comes with tangible markers of achievement, such as belt promotions. Adults experience a sense of accomplishment as they set and surpass goals. The recognition of their dedication and progress is a powerful motivator to continue the journey.

Season 4 Episode 28 Tim Kettenring- “How do we make these high outputs more repeatable?”
This week I’m fired up to sit down and talk conditioning with Tim Kettenring. Tim has been doing some awesome work helping coaches have a better understanding of how they can build bigger engines with the Conditioning Cohort. Throughout the great 30-plus minute chat, Tim and I get into:
1) The areas of physiology that he feels are overlooked by coaches and where coaches can look to have a better understanding of what the “cohort” is trying to teach.
2) What are some of the driving questions behind his deeper dive into energy system development that has led to his desire to help coaches have a better understanding of these physiological adaptations.
3) Reasons behind some of the “standoffishness” towards low intensity conditioning work, and how we could possibly counteract those
4) Where the autonomic nervous system fits in their education model, and why it’s so important to understand the basics of ANS physiology and how it relates to conditioning levels and performance.
5) Next steps in progressing conditioning work once the athlete has a “solid base”
6) Ways to make your energy system work be a bit more practical in the team setting.
A ton of great insight into what Tim is doing with, not just the course but what his training philosophy is and the driving factors behind it. Make sure you give him a follow at @timkettenring on X and tap in for more info on the training program at Conditioningproject.com. Just like all our shows, if you have found value in the show please and could do me three favors I’d greatly appreciate it if you could: 1) share the show with a colleague, this is the best way to spread the word; 2) subscribe to the show on your favorite podcast player to stay up to date with all our shows; 3) please leave us a review to help others find our show when they search for strength and conditioning based podcasts.

NASA astronauts must prepare their bodies for the physical stresses of living and working in microgravity before they launch on a spaceflight. Fortunately, they get customized training programs and plenty of help from astronaut fitness trainer Corey Twine, who shares decades of strength and conditioning expertise with astronauts every day at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. Twine’s official title is “astronaut strength, conditioning, and rehabilitation specialist.” He works with a team dedicated to ensuring NASA’s space explorers are in top shape before launch day and know how to stay physically healthy throughout their mission, whether they’re flying to the International Space Station or journeying around the Moon. We sat down with Twine to find out how he launched his career – and what it’s like to get a phone call from an astronaut in space. An Aspiring Athlete “When I was a kid, I never pictured myself working at NASA,” Twine said. “I pictured myself working in the NFL or professional baseball or all of those other dreams that many kids have.” Twine was an athlete in high school and planned to play at the collegiate level. But things changed after he began classes at Norfolk State University in Virginia. “One of my professors was the first strength and conditioning specialist I ever knew,” Twine said. “I learned there are people who just train other people to improve their performance. And from that moment on, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.” Energized by his passion for strength and conditioning, Twine earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and exercise science at Norfolk State and a master’s of kinesiology from Michigan State. He worked with several collegiate and professional teams while taking his career to new heights. From Weight Benches to Weightlessness Twine was a graduate assistant coach for the Michigan State football team when he first learned NASA was looking for a strength and conditioning coach. Until that moment, he’d been entirely focused on sports, but he was excited by the new opportunity, and applied. He went to work with NASA in 2002 and trained space shuttle astronauts for their missions. Then, his path shifted again. He spent the next 15 years as a conditioning coach in college football, first with West Virginia University and then the University of Michigan. From there, he went to work with the U.S. Army. “It was an amazing opportunity to work with the soldiers who were doing so much to protect and serve,” Twine said. Twine returned to Johnson Space Center in 2018. Today, he prepares astronauts for flights to the space station and for the Artemis missions to come, which will carry crews – including the first woman and first person of color – to the Moon. Astronauts know Twine is always willing to provide guidance. He took that assistance to a new level one day when he received a mysterious call from “U.S. Government” on his cell phone. To his surprise, it turned out to be an astronaut about 250 miles above Earth aboard the space station. “They had a question about their training,” said Twine, who chatted with the astronaut. Together, they worked out a solution in real time. “It was a great asset because we were able to adjust and do some things to help their training instead of just going through email.” Advice to Students: Success Takes Effort – But You Can Do It Twine recalls struggling academically during middle and high school and feeling intimidated about college. Fortunately, a friend who was a few years ahead of him shared some simple but meaningful advice: “No test is hard if you study for it.” If you put in the effort until you know the material, you’ll succeed. “I remember to this day, the first test in my freshman year in college, I studied for a test for the first time,” Twine said. “I read every single thing in the chapter. I read everything in the back of the book. I read all of the information the professor gave.” His hard work paid off with that test and he vowed to keep up that level of effort. “I continued that behavior all through undergrad and also through grad school, and it worked every single time,” he said. Twine cautions against believing you’re not smart enough and says you just need to put in the hard work. “Study, find resources, find help, continue, and don’t give up.” Learn more about Corey Twine and how he helps NASA astronauts stay in spaceflight-ready shape in this episode of Surprisingly STEM.
