Hey M! Nice to see the DA enthusiasm! Do you have a canon worldstate you're thinking of bringing into DA:TV? I'm really curious about it if so!

I do! There's another world state I was playing through a while ago where I make different decisions, but I've been kind of reluctant to make some of those decisions in DAI, so I haven't completed it haha (maybe the upcoming release date will encourage me to)

But you asked about my canon playthrough!

DAO: Melantha Tabris - warrior - romanced Alistair and survived the Blight. She's canonically his mistress post-game (he's unmarried), but I'm going to be so for real right now, it's been 20 years: they're married in my mind (at least secretly). If I were to give her a DA2 personality type, it'd be the blue diplomatic/helpful one.

DA2: Arzhela Hawke - mage - romanced Fenris and sided with the mages. To date, one of my favorite protagonist names. She's also sarcastic/purple Hawke and I adore her.

DAI: Athim Lavellan - mage - romanced Solas (rip), Leliana is Divine, elected to disband the Inquisition, and attempted to redeem Solas. Athim is very much the reluctant protagonist: she wants nothing but to return home to her clan and resume her responsibilities to eventually become Keeper. She has the red aggressive/direct personality, and yes, her name is a little ironic since she's very prideful and her name means "humility" in Elvhenan. While she attempted to redeem Solas, I'm kinda hoping for a tragic ending to that? For the drama, I suppose haha

Calliope Lavellan:

2. How easy is it for your character to laugh? 

Honestly, it depends on the time frame. Pre-Inquisition and early Haven Calliope is nervous enough but they can easily laugh at joke or what have you. The burden of being Inquisitor isn’t quite there yet and they actually find it extremely amusing that people think they’re the “Herald of Andraste” because they’re Dalish and have had 0 knowledge about religion really until now. They’re sense of humor changes too along the course of Inquisition, it goes from easy to laugh at everything to dry sarcastic humor at the beginning of Trespasser. Callie does ease up a little bit afterwards though, lots of stress rolls off when they disband the Inquisition and start making it their own sort of a thing. All in all, it’s not extremely hard for them to laugh at any point in their life, but there are dry spells for sure. 

27.  What causes them to feel dread?

Thinking about what life would be like if they had failed, or if they will fail in the future. Calliope thinks a lot about what Solas might do now that he has plans to basically destroy the world, and they wake up every day wondering what will happen if they walk outside. The gut wrenching, cold in the pit of your stomach dread comes from thinking about their past however, how things could have been different if they had never been who they are now, if Falon’Din had stayed alive. But it’s easy to pull Callie out of that funk, they have they’re husband Isi, and their two kiddos, Athim and Gabriela to fawn over and distract them.

Fen’Asha Tabris

G) What trait of theirs bothers you the most?

Fen’Asha is reckless and mean as sin, she can be extremely ruthless if she doesn’t like somebody. It’s hard to write her sometimes because I’m such a fucking wuss, but I’m glad that she’s mean? It really only bothers me because personally I wouldn’t be the mean that she is, regardless though I love my Tabris with all my heart.

J) Did you have to manipulate or exclude canon factors to allow them to create their character?

Fen is a blood mage so I absolutely had to do some tweaking here and there. The Tabris origin still stands, it was just more of adding the fact after the whole Vaughn thing that the templars found out she was a blood mage. More than that too I try to stray from actually playing her story line, at least on PS3 which is the only console I have for Origins, because I can’t romance Morrigan as a lady. Also since she’s part of my canon, Tauriel is my actual Hero of Ferelden, I had to do a lot of tweaking of the time line because I have a warden from every Origin except Surana and Brosca, so Duncan was doing a lot of running around recruiting lmao. Cassiopeia (my Cousland) was the first to be saved by Duncan and then they fled to the Circle to see if someone could help Cassie as she had gone blind during the burning down of her home, which is when Merielle, my other blood mage was recruited, then they did a little stint near the Circle where they found Tauriel, my Aeducan was then recruited, and Fen’Asha was last on their way to Ostagar.

top left. athim tabris - this elf boy is a bard and has more knives than friends. would take you out to karaoke and you’d joke like haha sure but when you got to the bar? there’d be a picture of him in the lobby and he’d be recognized on sight and turns out hes the king of karaoke top middle. fennas lavellan - hes a pure trans boy. hes very soft and quiet. would take you into the forest and pick flowers the same colour as your eyes. can juggle. top right. rodrick cousland - my favourite boy. loves dogs so fucking much. takes you to the blue cross and you look at the puppies all day and he adopts all of them because he cant bare to separate them from each other. bottom left. tomas trevelyan - acts strict but really is so weak for anything you want if you ask him nicely. is fennas father at this point. he’d take you on a road trip at night and the car’d be full of blankets and you’d just drive until you decided you were wherever you needed to be and camp under the stars. bottom middle. vovhen aeducan - is my angry dwarf prince. constantly training and makes lewd jokes. but he’d softly hold your hands and if anyone made you upset or uncomfortable he would actually destroy them. very stoic but is not afraid to show his love in public. bottom right. garrett hawke - sarcastic son of a bitch. takes you to mcdonalds but buys eighteen portions of fries, then pours them all onto the tray.probably lights one of them on fire as a candle, gets kicked out but takes the fry tray. loves to hold hands. BONUS GORL:

Maude Amell. Angriest blood mage in the world. Not to be confused with Auntie Maude, who I only just realised have the same name. Shucks. Maude is a butch and takes you to a secret drag race on the outskirts of town and enters with you and the two of you kick everyones ass.

2. Which companion does your hero find hard to trust?

Tabris: Everyone at first. Tabs doesn’t trust people easily. But after the Blight, it’s mostly just Morrigan.

Surana: Oghren, mostly. How is she supposed to trust him to have her back in a fight when he is drunk out of his mind most of the time?

Hawke: Hard to say. He likes everyone. It was a bit hard to trust Isabela after she ran off with the tome, but he got over it eventually. Also, he doesn’t tell everything he does to Aveline, because he knows she wouldn’t approve of his more shady activities.

Lavellan: Sera. She’s too immature for him.

4. Who has the same hobbies as your hero?

Tabris: Zevran. They enjoy the thrill of adventure. Does that count as a hobby?

Surana: Wynne. They both enjoy cheesy romance novels. Although Ana takes it a notch further with her love of raunchy literature.

Hawke: Varric. Hawke’s main hobbies can be summed up in two words: drinks & cards.

Lavellan: Blackwall. Athim is an artist. He likes drawing, but also carving.

9. Who is a bad influence on your hero?

Tabris: Zevran. While she doesn’t need him to get herself in trouble, if the two of them are left to their own devices, you can be sure the day will end with a wild chase through the city streets.

Surana: Oghren, weirdly. He introduced her to dwarven ale, and Ana sometimes enjoys it a bit too much.

Hawke: Anders, probably. It’s not so much that he is a bad influence, but Hawke would often get himself hurt on purpose just to spend some time with him. And he kept doing it even after the two of them started dating.

Lavellan: Athim is more likely to be the bad influence than the other way around. Though, Iron Bull often ropes him into fighting dragons when he would rather not.

20. What would be their last words to the other if they were dying?

Ouch! That’s a painful one! Well, here’s how it went, straight from the game:

“I know how I feel about you. I won’t let you die, not when I can do something about it.”“No! I won’t let you die either, Alistair!““You say that as if I’m giving you a choice.”*smooch*“NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!”

Although I do have a WIP where she sees him in the Fade and they tell each other proper goodbyes, but hush, it’s a secret.

Hawke/Anders

10. Who gets jealous the most?

Anders. Mostly because Hawke is a huge flirt. Anders knows it doesn’t mean anything, but he can’t help feeling a pang of jealousy whenever someone flirts back. Hawke, on the other hand, is pretty chill. Since flirting is his way of saying hello, he might not even notice when people flirt with Anders until the latter points it out.

Lavellan/Dorian

12. What would both say is their favorite memory of the other?

Dorian took Athim to a spa in Val Royeaux. It was the first time he saw his restless amatus relax for once. Dorian was afraid Athim would get bored fast, but the two of them actually had a great time. Seeing him so happy and calm is a memory he’ll cherish for the rest of his life.

Surana/Carver

17. How do they comfort one another?

Hugs. Lots of hugs until they are ready to talk about the problem. And when they are, they listen to the other and offer reassuring words. Most of the time, what they need to hear is a reminder that they are not alone, that they still have each other. And then, they hug some more.

Tabris/Alistair

24. What do they find most sexy about the other?

Everything?

Alright, I would say Alistair loves Tabs’ smile and her laugh. It isn’t sexy per say, it’s one of those snorty laughs, but damn if he doesn’t want to take her to bed any time he hears it!

As for her, ever since Alistair became king, he’s developped a small tummy which Tabs finds particuliarly cute. He’s got love handles which she loves to grab onto during sexy time.

Headcanons

When Ana learned the Arcane Warrior spec, Alistair taught her how to fight with a sword and shield. She switched to two-handed weapons after his death, however, because the memories of their times together were too painful.

Anders has trouble sleeping. So Hawke stays up until he is sure he’s fallen asleep. Anders has tried faking it a few times because he too worries about his boyfriend’s sleeping habits, but it didn’t work. He’ll deny it, but Anders snores pretty loudly which makes it easy to know when he’s awake.

Athim has a sketchbook filled with drawings of Dorian in the nude. He is more than happy to pose for his amatus whenever they have some free time on their hands.

Carver does Ana’s hair in the morning. He’s got some practice, he used to help Bethany with hers when he wasn’t pinning her braids to the bed. It’s become a ritual of sorts for them. He brushes her hair and ties it up nicely. Depending on how much time they have, it can range from a loose ponytail to an elaborate braid.

Tabs knows that Alistair is elf-blooded. She’s known almost from the start. Elf-blooded humans might look human overall, but there are a few small details that marks them as elf-blooded if you know what to look for: slightly pointed ears, acute senses… Tabs grew up in an allienage, she’s seen elf-blooded people before, so she recognized those things almost immediately.

23. What is a random fact about your OC? 

Tabs has a tattoo somewhere… err… intimate. Zevran is to blame of course.

25. What inspired you to create them / how did you create them? Were they originally a fancharacter? What was their personality / design like when you first made them?

Athim is still a work in progress, mostly because I haven’t done his playthrough yet.

As I’ve said before, I’m planning to have 7 worldstates (one for each warden origin, a terrible idea if I’ve ever had one). I don’t know how far I’ll go with this idea, but that’s not the subject here. Anyway, that meant creating 7 Inquisitors and he is one of them.

Originally, Athim was going to be part of another worldstate, but I switched my Inquisitors around a little bit when I decided each worldstate was going to have a specific theme. I call this one Sad Mages and the Inquisitor I had originally picked (Cadash) didn’t fit. However, lately I’ve been thinking about doing another switch and put Athim into Tabris’ worldstate instead. Idk, we’ll see.

41. What does your character do when they’re angry? Why?

Ana doesn’t get easily angry and thank the Maker for that! She is an incredibly powerful mage, and you don’t want her to lash out on you.

A good example would be when she returned to the Vigil after Anders’ departure and discovered what happened. She found the man in charge, completely wrecked him and his office before kicking him and his men out of Ferelden.

So yeah, good thing she can keep her cool under most sittuations.

46. Your character is given a voodoo doll of themself. What do they do with it? Do they see if it actually works?

Hawke would probably forget about it for a while until he woke up with a numb feeling in his leg, only to find his dog carrying the doll around like a chew toy.

Tabris

3. what’s their favorite food?

Her father’s chicken pie. Once a year, Cyrion would save enough coin to buy a poultry and treat his family with a fancy dish. It isn’t the best meal she’s ever eaten, but it tastes like home.

17. how are they in romantic relationships?

It takes a while for her to trust someone enough to let them in. When she reaches that point with her romantic partner, she becomes more comfortable with her emotions and will open a softer part of her to them. She isn’t fond of public displays of affection, however.

20. what would their dream vacation look like?

Going on a vacation is a bit of a foreign concept for someone who had to scrape by for most of her life. Even now, she barely takes any time off, juggling between her duties as Warden-Commander and Bann of Denerim’s Alienage. When she does, she spends the days with her family, or with Alistair if he’s not too busy. But if she could take a break from all of it, she would probably choose to go somewhere warm and exciting. Antiva seems like a good place to start, which may or may not end with Zevran getting her in trouble with the local authorities.

46. are they into folklore and/or conspiracy theories? or do they think both are garbage?

She thinks it’s mostly garbage. The only reason she agreed to look for the Sacred Ashes of Andraste was because they were desperate to find a cure for the Arl, and no-one had any better leads. Frankly, she’s still not sure they were even real.

Surana

1. what does music mean to them? what role does it play in their life?

She wasn’t exposed to a lot of music while growing up in the Circle, so it was a bit of a revelation the first time she heard something. It was in Lothering’s tavern, on the way to Ostagar. She liked the upbeat rhythm and the way people danced. In camp, she would often ask Leliana to sing them something before or after dinner.

Now that she’s started hearing the Calling, however, music has taken a dark meaning. She finds herself humming the song even in her sleep. 

8. hogwarts house?

That’s a hard one. She could pretty much fit anywhere. Ultimately I would say Ravenclaw. She is curious about the world and is a seeker of knowledge. Nothing excites her more than learning something she didn’t know yet.

34. which season do they prefer? why?

Winter. Surana has an affinity for ice spells, so cold weather doesn’t bother her at all. She enjoys the feeling of snow crushing under her boots, participating in snowball fights, or building a snowman with her daughter.

49. what is(are) their love language(s)?

She likes to spend time alone with her partner: have a nice dinner, go out for a walk, have a conversation with them… Even sparring may count.

Hawke

10. if they were in a modern high school clique (jocks, goths, hipsters, geeks, etc.), what would it be? why?

Hawke would be the class clown sitting in the back, who is a bit of a slacker but is weirdly popular. I don’t think he would fit in any particular clique. He would be the kind of guy who doesn’t really care about such things and has at least one friend in every single one of them.

16. how are they in platonic relationships?

Jovial and pleasant, whether he is your friend or not. He might complain about it sometimes, but he’s always ready to help people who need it.

If he’s your friend, it’s the same thing times 100. He’s by your side before you know it no matter what it takes.

23. if you had to pick five words/phrases (objects, places, weather, etc.) to describe your oc’s aesthetic, what would you pick? 

Family, stone, defiance, laughter, people.

42. what physical features do they find attractive on other people?

Smiles. That’s it. A beautiful, sincere smile can be enough to make him melt.

Lavellan

2. if you were to hug them, what would they smell like?

He takes is hygiene very seriously, so he’ll mostly smell of soap. He’ll usually pick one with an earthy, wooden scent. If you caught him after a big fight, he might also smell strongly of lyrium.

15. do they like animals? if they do, which ones?

Athim really liked taking care of the halla of Clan Lavellan. His mount is the Royal Sixteen hart offered by the clan to the Inquisition. He named her Revas, “freedom”.

28. what’s their opinion of children? how are they around children?

Children generally make him uncomfortable. It’s not that he doesn’t like them, it’s more that he doesn’t know how to act around them. He might try to play a couple of games with them, but once they get bored he’ll start to panic.

40. do they have any recurring dreams/nightmares?

He still has both of his arms in most of his dreams and sometimes wakes up forgetting he lost one. He’ll reach for something on his nightstand only to remember with horror that he can’t.
