so ang plan ko talaga today is makadalawang season ng the office para tapos ko na sya bago mag monday—- pero iba ang nangyari wc for me is productive din naman.

so i woke up at 1 pm, walang tao sa bahay except for stepdad, kanya kanya kami sa haus, so solo ko ang sala. i tried to watch trese, both in fil and jap dub, and di ko bet yung story, gomenasai. sorry sa fans. so di ko sya tinuloy, pasensya na sa fans, kanya kanyang trip lang tayo in life. also fil dub definitely sucks. wtf. nanood nalang ako ng iba. nagstart ako with Fangirl.

i laughed hard with Fangirl. yes, now ko lang napanood. that movie is good. galing din ng writer infer. and charlie dizon acting skills 💯. gwapo ni paulo avelino potangena, eng sherep. 😂 inexpect ko na yung ganong klaseng ending, so di naman me nabitin or anything. sakto lang. basta talaga film from black sheep, ganun yung ending eh.

then i got frustrated with Final Destination. nainis ako. ang bilis ng mga pangyayari. and normal naman na mafrustrate ka tlaga sa mga ganong movie. so okay lang din. maganda tlaga. yes, ngayon ko lang din sya napanood kasi nung nilabas yung first film, 3 years old plang ako, so sorry sa mga millenials if i’m late. i watched the other seasons when i was a kid, pero syempre di ko naman gets yun? hello? alam ko lang maraming nadedeadz and horror sya. so sana netflix, pkidagdagan ng other seasons para marewatch ko naman.

and then last is, SDTG, or She’s Dating the Gangster. naalala ko around 2014 or 2015 (?) di ko sya pinanood sa sinehan kasi kasama ako sa bashers nung nilabas yung SDTG sa sinehan. isa kasi ako sa mga fans sa wattpad. and damn, ginawa nilang baduy si kenji 😂 so ang tagal bago ko tanggapin na ganun ang kinalabasan sa movie. syempre diba, di nameet yung expectations mo. so mga ilang months muna then pinanood ko na with my cousin, and i remember crying so hard that time. grabe yung iyak ko potangina. yung ending kasi sa libro is, i don’t know if binago ni SGwannaB yung story para maparehas sa movie, but yung original is nagpanggap yung Abi na may leukemia sya. so pinili ni Kenji si Abi and then namatay si Athena. then nung nalaman ni Kenji na namatay si Athena, nagpakamatay din si Kenji. di ko sure kung may kasunod pa yun pero yun yung ending na naaalala ko. so dba??? devastating??? binasa mo ng pagkatagal tagal, namatay ka sa inggit dahil sa kalandian nila tas ang ending deads sila parehas. and di sila magkasama! shunga lang magssabi na magkasama sila kasi nagpakamatay si Kenji, and mortal sin ang suicide, deretso ka down there 👇🏼 so di sila magkasama mga sist.

anywy, ayun nga, balik tayo sa movie. so ako ay naiyak pa din ng sobra way back 2014. grabe yung hagulgol ko girl. ang sakit sakit. tas yung till i met you pa na bgm, gagu? iyak talaga si ate mo girl. and ayun, 7 years has passed. umiyak pa rin ako. this time ang kasama ko yung dalawa kong kapatid. yung kasunod ko nagtataka bat ako umiiyak. ((kid, pag nainlove ka soon malalaman mo din why)) kasi nakakaiyak!!! lintik na timing yan 🥺 ahhh!!!! sobrang unfair lang ☹️ may sakit din naman si Athena mga gunggong! wala naman silang utang na loob kay Abi pero pinili nila magsacrifice parehas 🙂 mga hayup 🙂 ang sakit sakit 🙂 di nasunod yung libro, pero nakakaiyak pa rin. sumakit yung mata ko kakaiyak. awit yan.

Movie Critique: She’s Dating the Gangster

The movie that I chose to critique is a combination of romance, drama and comedy genres and is entitled “She’s Dating the Gangster” directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina and was released on July 16, 2014. It was based from a Pop Fiction book of the same name originally published on CandyMag.com’s Teen Talk section and became popular because of Wattpad by Bianca Bernardino (pen name is SGwannaB).

The leading actors in this film is seventeen-year-old Athena Dizon played by Kathryn Bernardo who pretends to be the girlfriend of Kenji de los Reyes, a gangster, played by Daniel Padilla, to make his ex-girlfriend jealous. However, as time passed by, she falls in love with him.

The actors chosen were perfect for the role given by the director. They successfully showed the message of the movie to the viewers. Although the conversation sometimes cannot be understood, the actors still manage to tell the viewers what the story entails.

Molina’s casting choice makes for real chemistry between Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. They both have played their roles well. They were able to apply all the learnings they have learned from all the past movies they have made together. They also used their being in love with each other to successfully deliver all the “kilig” lines from the script.

Molina was able to show the romance, drama and comedy all in one in the movie “She’s Dating the Gangster.” Its portrayal of not-so-old, fervently romantic love is really attractive. From what I have observed, it is not easy to handle this kind of work, but still, she manages to make this project possible. She did a good work as the movie received largely positive reviews both from critics and fans.

The title of the book I chose is She’s dating the gangster by Bianca Bernardino, a 26-year-old BS Psychology Graduate. She is known for her penname, SGWannabe in Wattpad. She also wrote other hit novels like My Girl and I (1 and 2) and Lie About Us.The book is a 2014 Philippine coming-of-age romantic comedy drama film based on the best Pop Fiction book of the same name originally published on CandyMag.com's Teen Talk section and it was popularized on Wattpad. Since the Wattpad version of the story became such a hit in the online community, it caught the attention of publishing house, Summit Media and they decided to make a published version of it on October 2013. After being published, it won Best Pop Fiction Book.Because of  popularity, the book became a movie. The author said that she was bored that time and decided to try something new so she brainstormed with a friend and that is how She’s Dating the Gangster started. She drew inspiration from her love of Korean soap operas and her, having a romantic perspective..

               It’s all about Athena Dizon plays a trick on campus heartthrob and bad boy, gangster, Kenji de los Reyes. Setting up an arrangement to pretend as lovers-to make his ex jealous-they found themselves falling to each other yet falling apart. “Love is seeing an imperfect person perfectly”For me,this quote perfectly summarizes what happened to Kenji and Athena. As the saying goes, if you love the person you will accept him/her wholeheartedly. You will love every part of the person even the flaws and imperfections. The whole story revolves around this concept, that is why we think this story will capture the hearts of every reader out there, especially the hopeless romantic ones like us. The strength  is the story emphasizes self-acceptance because it is important to know yourself inside out including your good and bad side and accepting yourself as a whole. These morals from the novel mirrors true Filipino identity and culture.For the people who appreciate the story, the author used a medium that we can easily be understood by the readers. She also used informal language such as capitalizing words, using emoticons and adopting slang or taglish language. Even though she used a different and unusual way of expressing the story people still embraced it.The weakness of the book is the ending, because athena died and kenji commit suicide that’s why many fans don’t like the ending.Even though tragic happen in the end,i apprecite and the story tell’s, if you love someone you will do anything and love never die.  

               I will give this book a 5-star rating because i could not see anything wrong with it. The storyline was very dynamic and wasn’t that predictable like most romance novels and the twists in the story were successful in capturing and keeping the readers glued to the book. The way the story was written gave the readers a clear visualization of the book, making it even more enticing to read. All in all, it was a good book for us and it was definitely not your typical romantic cheesy novel.For me, this is one of the best book i read in my life.

Saint Young Men, Vol. 1

Over the past few years, there have been fewer and fewer series that you can point to and say “It’s fantastic, but will never be licensed”. The manga market right now is such that risk-taking can be rewarded, and we’ve been very happy to get things like Captain Harlock, Silver Spoon, and (theoretically) Rose of Versailles. That said, Saint Young Men is a special case. Immensely popular both in Japan and here since its debut in 2006, its basic premise made it seemingly radioactive for a long time, and it was assumed that either the author or the publisher had indicated that it was not the right time for it. But times have changed, and even if it’s only digitally for now, we can all now enjoy the adventures of Jesus Christ and Gautama Buddha living in a small apartment in modern-day Japan and having the time of their afterlives. Having finished the first volume, it’s as fun as advertised.

There’s no real plot to speak of. Each chapter shows us the two leads experiencing something new, be it going to a local pool/sauna, a festival, or (of course) a Buddhist temple. They can both take turns as the boke and tsukkomi, though over the course of the volume Boke Jesus tends to move to the foreground – he’s the more happy go lucky of the two, and doesn’t worry about actual expenses and rent as much as the tighter-wound Buddha. They’re experiencing modern-day Japan, and how they take to it depends very much on what the gag needs to be – sometimes it’s clear they’re fairly new to everything, but then there are the chapters showing us Jesus’ blog, where he reviews all manner of things. Throughout, of course, their character is also informed by their own pasts – we hear about how they both died, and various religious miracles they’ve performed. And the Virgin Mary gets a mention as well. She apparently loves to buy T-shirts.

As you might imagine, there are a lot of obscure references in this volume. The translation is good, but you will find yourself flipping to the endnotes in the back quite a bit. There’s a lot of them – I don’t think I’ve seen so many notes since the days of Sayonara, Zetsubou-sensei. I do hope that this book does eventually get a print edition, because flipping to the back of the book in a digital version can be a pain – on first read, I just let the references wash over me, and read the notes afterwards. Which is fine when it’s discussing sutras and stigmata, but less so when Jesus starts talking about Leah Dizon. That said, one of the first references, which is that Jesus looks a lot like Johnny Depp, works well in both Japanese and English.

This is probably not a series I’m going to be doing full reviews for every time – it’s a slice-of-life comedy with no plot to speak of. But it’s fun, and funny, and you actually do learn quite a bit about Jesus and Buddha – over half the notes are religion-based. If you’ve been waiting forever to read this officially, now is the time to go get it.

Nagsimula ang kwentong ito ng minsang magkabunggoan ang isang simpleng studyante at isang kilalang tao ng kanilang paaralan. Si Athena Dizon ay isang simpleng studyante samantalang si Kenjie Delos Reyes naman ay kilala bilang siga o gangster sa kanilang paaralan. Nang minsang mabunggo ni Kenjie si Athena.

Ipinahanap ngayon ni Kenjie si Athena dahil sa naganap, Nagkaroon sila ng kasunduan na kailangang magpanggap ni Athena bilang ang bagong nobya ni Kenjie upang pagselosin ang dating kasintahan ni Kenjie na si Athena Quizon. Walang nagawa si Athena Dizon kung hindi ang pumayag. Nagpanggap nga sila at gumana ang kanilang plano na mapagselos ang dating nobya ni Kenjie, ngunit ang hindi nila napapansin ay nahuhulog na sila sa isa't isa. Doon din nila nalaman kung bakit nakipaghiwalay ang dating nobya ni kenjie ay dahil sa malubhang sakit ngunit ayaw ng balikan ni kenjie ang dating nobya dahil na rin sa nahulog na siya kay Athena Dizon. Nakiusap ang ina ni Athena Quizon na bumalik na si kenjie sa kanyang anak ngunit ayaw pa din ni Kenjie ngunit ng si Athena Dizon na ang nakiusap at nagpaubaya ay walang nagawa kundi ang sundin ang gusto ng kanyang mahal.

Simula noon ay nawalan na ng komunikasyon si Athena Dizon at Kenjie. Bumalik si kenjie sa dating nobya at sila'y nagpakasal. Sila'y nagkaroon ng isang anak, ngunit sa kasamaang palad namatay si Athena Quizon. Sa kabilang dako naman, si Athena Dizon ay may malubha ring sakit nguniy siya ay nagpaubaya. Nagkaroon na lamang sila ng pagkakataong magkita ng hanapin si kenjie ng isa sa mga pamangkin ni athena ngunit iba ang kanyang nahanap, ang nahanap niya ay ang anak ni Kenjie, dahil na rin sa tulong ng dalawa ay muling nagkita si Kenjie at Athena sa huling pagkakataon.

Tungkol din ito sa pagmamahalan ng isang lalaking gangster at sa simpleng babae. Tungkol din ito sa kung paano napabago ng simpleng babae ay isang lalaking napariwa sa buhay.

         Ang mga tauhan dito sa pelikulang ito ay si Daniel Padilla bilang Kenjie Delos Reyes na isang bad boy, heartthtob, gwapo, umiinom, naninigarilyo at isang gangster. Si Kathryn Bernardo bilang Athena Dizon. Isang babaeng simple, maganda, at matalino. Ang una nilang pagkikita ay sa kanilang paaralan at sa Albay.

         Nagsimula ang kwento nila noong inakala ni Kenjie na Athena Dizon ay si Athena Abigail Tizon na tinatawag niyang bebe. Itenext niya ito at humingi ng tawad at hiniling na makipagkita sa kanya ngunit nairita si Athena at nagpanggap ngang Athena na tinutukoy ni Kenjie. Gumawa si Kenjie ng kasunduan na magpanggap na Athena bilang girlfriend niya hanggang sa makuha niya muli si Abigail ngunit sa araw-araw na pagsasama nila at pagde-date ay parating puno lamang sila ng away at sigawan.

          Nagkaroon na nga ng magandang pagtitinginan ang dalawa at tinangal na nila ang deal sa kanilang relasyon. Nagmamahalan na sila at nagsaya sa mga sandaling magkasama sila. Ngunit bumalik si Abigail at nagmakaawa sa pagmamahal ni Kenjie. Patuloy parin palang naguguluhan si Kenjie sa kabila ng pagmamahal nila ni Athena kaya dumating ang panahong iniiwan niya si Athena para kay Abigail dahil may cancer si Abigail. Dito rin nalaman na lumala ang sakit ni Athena.

         Nalaman na ni Kenjie ang tunay na dahilan kung bakit sumulat si Athena kay Kenjie na may mahal na siyang iba ay para lamang protektahan si Kenjie dahil siya ang tinuturong dahilan ng mga magulang ni Abigail kung bakit hindi siya umiinom ng gamot. Kahit may sakit sa puso si Athena ay kailangan din niya si Kenjie. Ngunit mas malakas ang tawag ng puso at sa huli naging sila ni Athena at Kenjie. Nagsama sila sa mga huling oras at may malaking posibilidad na mamatay si Athena dahil sa heart failure.

         Namatay si Athena at nang-iwan ng video para kay Kenjie ngunit hindi kinaya ni Kenjie at siya rin ay nagpakamatay.
