ateez as sharks pt.2
too many sharks to choose from, to few members to assign them to. oh well! guess it just means i get to make a part two 👀
park seonghwa - epaulette shark
Tumblr media
epaulette sharks are STUNNING!!! they are the epitome of sleek and genderless in shark form and i know seonghwa would adore them
epaulette sharks are incredibly unique (they can walk on land!!) and use that to their survival advantage. obviously seonghwa doesn’t use his beautiful uniqueness for survival, but it makes him stand out so beautifully just like the epaulette shark
kim hongjoong - portjackson shark
Tumblr media
another cunty little shark for our cunty little guy. these guys are so gorgeous and cool and honestly remind me of hongjoong more than i care to admit
they’re known for being rather small, most of them not even growing to be one metre, and while they’re not particularly ferocious, they do have a generous spine protruding from their secondary dorsal fin. it’s like how hongjoong doesn’t look necessarily intimidating at first glance, but get him on stage and holy moly…
jeong yunho - bonnethead shark
Tumblr media
i cant stop assigning silly looking sharks to jeong yunho and i will NOT apologise for that!! mr silly himself deserves to be represented by an animal just as silly as he is!!
they’re known to be pretty social sharks, often swimming in groups rather than by themselves. they’re not selfish or individualistic like a lot of other shark species and i think that represents yunho perfectly. he loves his team to death and you can clearly see that
kang yeosang - leopard shark
Tumblr media
another cute little guy that i think represents yeosang so perfectly. whilst not as silly looking or as colourful as zebra sharks, they’re still sweet little guys with not a single bad bone in their body (well… cartilage i suppose)
they’re actually seen to display little to no fear of humans and are often viewed as being docile in nature. this doesn’t apply to their prey though since they’re pretty good hunters! it just reminds me of how yeosang is also seen as being ‘docile’ but behind it all there is an amazingly talented performer who isn’t afraid to be a little aggressive on stage when he needs to be
choi san - basking shark
Tumblr media
now personally i hate basking sharks (which does NOT reflect on my views of choi san, i love that man so much!!) but i do have to say they’re the perfect choice for san…
they’re another species of shark that are viewed as being ‘gentle giants’, growing up to 8 metres in length yet only being filter feeders. i personally am afraid of them because of how scary they look despite just being big slow guys living their life peacefully; a sentiment i see reflected with san a lot (despite the fact that i don’t know how anyone can be scared of that big ball of fluff)
song mingi - hammerhead shark
Tumblr media
listen guys, in the same way that saw sharks are just silly little men that are absolutely adorable, hammerhead sharks are also just fucked up little guys that most people agree are very sweet
these guys are literally physically incapable of hurting people, partly because of their sweet nature but also partly because of their tiny mouths. now i’m not saying mingi has a small mouth because that would be a lie, but i am saying that i don’t think that man could every intentionally hurt someone without feeling terrible for 4-5 business days
jung wooyoung - lemon shark
Tumblr media
THIS IS THE COMPARISON IM MOST ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT GUYS!!! lemon sharks are so sweet and also very pretty (just like wooyoung)
due to their large brains, lemon sharks are incredibly social animals and often crave the attention of divers, swimming up to them and letting the divers touch and interact with them. they’re also known to express negative emotions (similar to jealousy) when divers are giving other sharks more attention. i just think with how sociable and sweet wooyoung is, this is the perfect shark
choi jongho - blue shark
Tumblr media
am i sorry for continuing to give jongho the sharks that look like they’ve never had a thought in their life? absolutely not! he has those big beautiful boba eyes, he has to face the consequences
these little guys are incredibly versatile. they’ll live almost anywhere in temperate or tropical water, they’ll eat pretty much anything (even krill, despite them not being filter feeders), and whilst not necessarily being dangerous to people, have been known to take a nibble every now and then. maybe it’s just me but whenever i think versatile i think of jongho, and this shark looking a little silly just makes it even better

More food play, bunnies? You wanted it, now you get it. Unholy thoughts of the day, bunnies: The idea of serving a luxurious dinner on a naked, hot body has never sounded so appealing, especially when the main course comes with sweet, wet pussy for dessert. Or dirty, perverted idols Ateez discover the exciting, sexy experience of Nyotaimori during their schedule in Japan.
Nyotaimori - often referred to as "body sushi", is the Japanese practice of serving sashimi or sushi from the naked body of a woman.
Yunho first heard about it from his friend the last time he was in Japan during a break between comebacks. His friend described it as the most vivid, hot, and incredibly sexual experience of his life. And incredibly expensive too. But as Minhyuk assured him, it was worth every damn penny, and he would definitely go back to this special restaurant again to get supplements. And Yunho thought about it seriously. He even did some research and watched some porn on the subject and some hentai videos, and he has to say that it turned him on so much so that he had to jerk off several times in a row to completely empty his balls and quench his need to fuck.
His dick was so hard and pulsating rhythmically as he watched several guys on the screen eating sushi and sashimi from the naked body of a pretty busty girl with a tiny, slime-stained pussy and then fucking her hard in all the tight, wet holes. They were pulling her onto their big cocks, after which they cum all over her body, covering her completely with their sperm. And fuck, now this sweet, haunting image is permanently lodged in his head.
Of course, his friends weren't left out of Yunho's new dirty hobby. At first he only told Mingi about it, and, as usual, his best friend supported him enthusiastically, and soon they were both greedily glued to porn videos of this style. Gradually, it spread beyond the two of them, and soon the whole group was somehow drawn into Yunho's hot, perverse fantasy of nyotaimori and dirty gangbang.
It got to the point where all the boys unanimously decided that on their next trip to Japan, they would definitely visit this special restaurant that Minhyuk had recommended. And so Yunho found himself in the dark reception area of Deep Dive, one of the most modern and hyped places in Tokyo. And for good reason, as this restaurant offered not only a deep culinary immersion into a variety of exquisite tastes but also into the depths of various sexual practices.
"So, Mr. Jeong, do you have a preference for a host for your dinner?" The woman in front of him looks stunning, but so does the shark looking for its prey.
Yunho clutches the list of preferences that the other members have written down regarding the type of girl they would like to see on the table.
"Ahem..." He clears his throat before he speaks. His cheeks are slightly flushed, but the thought that he is about to make his dirty dream come true makes his dick tense. "We'd like someone juicy..." God, it sounds so stupid, and judging by the way the woman in front of him raises a questioning eyebrow, he is not the only one who thinks the same. So Yunho quickly corrects himself. "I mean with curves, big and heavy breasts, a fat ass, hips, but petite."
"Okay, I get it; continue." The lady encourages him, making notes in her notebook.
"If possible, we want a more submissive girl, maybe into pet play and daddy kink."
"We can give you exactly what you want. What about sexual practices? Do you have any preferences?"
Such a frank, dirty question should embarrass him even more, but instead Yunho's eyes darken and his voice becomes confident and hoarse.
"Voyeurism, size perversion, deep throat, spanking, spitting, objectification, possibly double penetration and squirt, plus of course fingering, cunnilingus, and other classic practices."
"Yes, I understand." She writes something on the notebook again and looks up at him. "Do you want to role play with coercion or are you more attracted to enthusiastic consent?"
"Enthusiastic consent, please. We want her to want it too. Maybe even too much." Yunho bites his lip and drums his fingers on his knee, either from nerves or excitement.
"You're in luck, Mr. Jung; one of our new girls is really into group sex; you'll love her." A dazzling smile appears on her lips, and she looks straight into Yunho's eyes as she begins to repeat his order loudly and clearly. "So, Friday night at eight o'clock, we're expecting Mr. Jeong Yunho, Park Seonghwa, Song Mingi, and Jung Wooyoung at private booth number 8 for a tasting dinner. On our part, we guarantee complete safety and anonymity of your data. The NDA file was sent to you in advance by email.
The menu consists of twelve starters and one main course, which will be served by Miss Y/N, who will also be your host for the evening. Dessert is included. You have chosen the full immersion experience with special services (which implies a full-fledged sex scene). The cost of your dinner is one hundred million yen. Will you confirm your order?" The lady pushed the ATM towards Yunho and batted her eyelashes cutely, waiting for the beep to inform her of a successful transaction.
Yunho nonchalantly swiped Hongjoong's black bank card at the terminal and pressed the confirm button. As soon as the machine made a cute "ding," the receptionist extended her hand across the table for Yunho to shake.
"I hope your Deep Dive experience is truly memorable, Mr. Jeong. See you on Friday."

"Appa, I want to eat!" called the small voice of Choi Bada from the tiny playpen you and San had built for her a few years ago.
"Aww, is my baby hungry? Don't worry, appa's coming!" you heard your husband say as he gently placed Byeol, the family cat, back in her spot before hurrying over to his precious little princess.
You could only sigh, clutching the worn-out plush that once belonged to him, as another wave of pain hit you relentlessly. So much for hoping to spend the day in his loving arms. "It's just you and me now, Shiber. I'm no longer at the top of his priority list."
The man snorted as he scooped up your daughter, carrying her over to the dining table where the lunch he had made earlier still sat untouched, thanks to your late breakfast, and removed the covers. "You do know I can hear you, right?"
You rolled your eyes. "Good, I wanted you to hear," you shot back, grimacing as another vicious cramp attacked your lower abdomen.
He smirked, busy reheating the food, and planted a kiss on the child's head. "You know damn well you'll always be my number one. Besides, I've already pitched a solution, and the offer still stands. If you'd just agree, we could get to work and, you know, banish that pain."
Resisting the urge to launch Shiber at him, you slapped a hand over your forehead. "Please, never mention that 'solution' again. I have never heard anything dumber in my life."
"Oh, come on! It would stop your period for nine months, and Bada would finally get a baby brother," he said, turning to your daughter. "You want a baby brother, don't you?"
Your daughter clapped her hands, grinning from her high chair. "Yes, yes, eomma! Bada wants baby brother!"
Smiling at your little mini-me, you pushed yourself off the couch and walked over, leaning down to kiss her chubby cheeks. "We'll think about it, sweetie. But first, let's eat." You swiped the plate from San's hands, placed it in front of her, and watched as she dug in with her new utensils like the little champ she was.
Feeling your husband's hands snake around your waist from behind, you spun around and whispered with a pointed finger, "Stop filling her head with ideas! Do you seriously think pregnancy is the answer to menstrual cramps? Have you conveniently forgotten about contraction pain, my guy?"
He pouted, tightening his hold around you, pressing his forehead against yours, and whispered, "But my love, doesn't the pleasure always make the pain go away?"
Flustered, your face burned as you quickly shushed him, nodding towards your daughter, who was staring up at you both in wonder. His suggestive expression softened as he grinned down at her. "Is it good, Bada-yah?" She nodded cutely. "Good, then finish it."
Once her attention returned to her food and Baby Shark playing on the TV, San cupped your cheek and met your gaze. "All jokes aside, didn't we agree to have at least two kids? Bada's turning four soon, so maybe now would be a good time to try for another. Don't you think?" he murmured, his presence and touch intoxicating, his lips brushing against yours as his thumb tenderly caressed your cheek.
You felt your resolve slowly crumbling. He was right—you both had agreed to have at least two children so your daughter wouldn't be too lonely. The thought just hadn't crossed your mind yet. But maybe he was right... maybe now was the time.
"I..." Before you could find the words, a whine escaped your throat as another torturous cramp sent you curling into his chest. He held you close, soothingly running his hands up and down your back. "What do you say, my love?"
You couldn't believe what you were about to say, but you had to. Anything to stop this agony. "We'll put the baby talk on hold, but for now... I need you, Choi San."
"Say no more, baby," he whispered before carrying you into the bedroom, but not without first turning on auto-play on YouTube—Baby Shark would have to handle babysitting for a while.

Fashion Week.
— mingi ver.
Tumblr media
PAIRING | ateez mingi x genderneutral!reader
TAGS | (kind of?) fluff, meet cute, alternate universe, model!mingi has a crush
RATINGS | SFW
SONGS | fashion killa by A$AP Rocky, I THINK by Tyler, the Creator
SUMMARY | it’s your first day of working at fashion week and you fucked up without even entering the gates. that’s when you needed mingi’s help to make sure you didn’t get fired.
AUTHOR’S NOTE ▸ this is my first fanfic!! ahhhh (confetti machines explodes) so please be nice huhu. this was something i came up with while actually working at fashion week this year lmao so this is very self-indulgent. a fantasy if you will. i’m also kinda salty that milan & paris fashion week didn’t invite mingi, so i will. letting him walk too mama. models should be grateful this fine ass man chose to be ateez’s rapper. that’s all, okie bye—enjoy.
Milan Fashion Week.
One of the biggest events of the year is being held right here in Italy. Starting today in Montenapoleone, the most exquisite tailoring, the longest legs, and the prettiest faces walk a special runway, while the famous, powerful, and influential gathered to witness what the world would be wearing for years to come.
Understanding the weight of this moment, and how fortunate you were to be part of it, it was today, of all days, that you were running late.
Jostling through the crowded public transport, the stifling heat of the subway still clinging to you, you emerged onto the bustling streets. Honking cars trapped in gridlock loomed like a barrier between you and the entrance to Fashion Week.
You weaved through the chaos, silently praying that nothing had fallen out of your purse—the zipper had been open the entire time. When you finally reached the gate, security stopped you, informing you that guests were about to arrive and the staff entrance was now closed. Only those with crew tags could be admitted, and they had been distributed during assembly—an hour and a half ago.
You sent a silent prayer for a miracle, but it seemed even God was sitting this one out. Pleading with the guards got you nowhere. You couldn’t call your boss; this was your first mistake of the season, and if fashion had taught you anything, it was to take initiative and fix problems before they reached your boss.
Circling the building like a shark hunting for a way in, you spotted him.
A face like an angel, wrapped in a sleek black Saint Laurent coat. You recognized him from today’s model lineup: fourteen shows, 6’3", lean build, size 43 shoes—Song Mingi, the season's newest sensation.
He’d been scouted in Incheon while buying a sandwich at a convenience store. Your friend in the industry took one look at him, got his details, and flew him out for a casting. He stole the show and was signed that same day.
He looked a little lost, scanning his surroundings with a phone pressed to his ear. Judging by how he hung up and stared down at his phone, whoever he’d called hadn’t answered.
Mustering your courage, you approached him. Tapping him on the shoulder, he turned, towering even more up close.
“Hi, you’re opening the first show, right?”
“Yeah, that’s me,” he said, studying your face as if he should recognize you.
“I’m with Fashion Week,” you said, hoping to reassure him. He sighed in relief.
“Thank God. I’ve been trying to figure out who I’m supposed to meet. I’ve got this that I’m supposed to trade for an access tag, but no one’s shown up to get me and help.”
“That’d be me,” you lied smoothly. Admitting the truth would’ve been a disaster. “I’ll take you in.”
“Awesome! So, uh... do we just go in with this?”
“Yeah, actually, pass it to me, and I’ll get you checked in.”
“Oh, you’re a lifesaver,” he said, his tone completely at odds with his dark, brooding look.
As he handed over his tag, you finally had your golden ticket. Glancing around the crowded street, you nudged him, “Let’s go.”
He didn’t hesitate, looping his arm through yours. You both walked—though you had to pick up your pace to match his long strides—heading for the back entrance. Flashing Mingi’s card for the exchange with the guards and ushers in the front, you passed yourself off as his manager and were waved through with the temporary yellow wristband that lets you in.
Relief flooded through you when the plan worked.
You handed Mingi back his tag, reminding him to wait until he was called. You guided him to the model green room, where other models should be waiting.
“Dude, there you are!” one of the models greeted him as soon as you both walked in.
“Yunho!” you heard Mingi call his friend. “So I kind of overslept this morning and—”
“On the first day? Brutal.”
You slipped past the towering figures without a glance, heading straight for your station.
Unbeknownst to you, Mingi peeked over his friends’ shoulders, watching as you disappeared backstage, wanting to thank you, but the words never made it past his lips.
Before you knew it, it was showtime. You slipped into place just in time, heart still pounding from the earlier chaos, but no one seemed to notice your absence. You did everything you could to ensure the show went smoothly, handling last-minute changes, guiding models, and coordinating with the backstage crew.
And then, the lights dimmed. The music swelled. The air hummed with anticipation.
That’s when the white curtains dropped, and Mingi emerged. Now transformed with styled hair and makeup, zipped into an avant-garde masterpiece that must’ve taken hundreds of hours to perfect. He strutted down the runway as if he had been doing this for years, though you knew it was his very first show.
He exuded a natural talent and presence that had the audience captivated. But it wasn’t just his walk. There was something magnetic about him, something raw yet polished enough to turn heads.
For a brief moment, his eyes swept across the room and locked onto yours. You froze, convinced that he was looking directly at you rather than the sea of cameras and faces in the front row. You could’ve sworn he smirked as he turned to make his way back up the runway, leaving your heart still racing.
As the show continued, you found yourself catching glimpses of him every now and then backstage—during quick changes, makeup touch-ups, or casual interactions with the other models. Each time, he seemed more relaxed, slipping easily into conversations, though his gaze always seemed to linger just a moment too long when he spotted you.
You headed backstage to run an errand, and there he was—leaning casually against the wall, waiting for his next cue. He looked relaxed, with clips in his gelled hair keeping it flat and perfectly styled. As soon as he spotted you, a grin spread across his face.
"Hey, stranger," Mingi said, straightening up as you approached, hunting down a specific box in the corner.
“So I heard something funny.”
“What’s that?” you asked, fishing out magazines wrapped in plastic and passing it off to the frazzled intern waiting behind you.
“The guy who was actually supposed to get me this morning? He was apparently searching for me outside for like, twenty minutes but I’m glad to see you actually work here and that I wasn’t an accomplice to some rogue crasher.”
You chuckled, continuing to hand off the magazines to the intern, who was struggling to keep up. “Okay, full disclosure—I was totally winging it this morning. I was late, I didn’t have my pass and used you to get in.”
“So I was a ruse?”
“Pretty much.” You shrugged, glancing at the intern balancing the heavy stack. “Take these to reception, and give them out after this slot ends,” you instructed, watching her scurry off.
Mingi raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. “I see."
“Desperate times,” you replied with a shrug of your shoulders. “Sorry about that.”
“No need,” he said, leaning in slightly with a conspiratorial grin. “To be honest, I was too stressed to think straight too. First-show jitters and all.”
“Jitters? Your walk didn’t look like it was your first show at all.”
Mingi shrugged with an easy smile, his eyes sparkling with mischief. He leaned in a little more, lowering his voice like he was letting you in on a secret. “Honestly? I’m just pretending I know what I’m doing.”
You laughed, feeling your nerves ease a little as the conversation flowed. “Well, that makes two of us and you’re pulling it off way better than me.”
He grinned. “You look like you’ve got it all under control, though.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Looks can be deceiving.”
His smile lingered as his eyes held yours a moment longer. Then, his name was called from across the room. He glanced over his shoulder, clearly needed elsewhere, but before he left, he turned back to you, his voice a little softer. “See you after the show?”
You nodded, unable to help the smile tugging at your lips. "Yeah, maybe," you said, your voice softening as he walked away.
The rest of the day passed in a blur of people, clothes and camera flashes. Every so often, you’d catch sight of Mingi, either on the runway or during chaotic backstage moments. And every time, he’d either flash you a grin or give you a subtle nod, like you were sharing some inside joke.
By the time the final show wrapped up, exhaustion was beginning to settle in. You were busy packing up when you felt a tap on your arm. You turned to see Mingi standing there, dressed in the clothes he wore this morning, but with his last runway makeup still on and his hair was slightly messy from the rush.
“So… I made it through my first day,” he said, beaming at you.
“Congratulations. Thirteen more to go,” you replied, returning his smile.
“You know, I wouldn’t have made it without you,” he teased, his voice softer now.
You waved it off, feeling the heat rise in your cheeks. “Oh please, you were the star today. I didn’t do anything, I just brought you backstage.”
“Well,” he said, his eyes twinkling, “I think you deserve some credit too.”
Before you could respond, a silence settled between you—one that felt comfortable, yet charged with something unspoken. He shifted his weight, hesitating for a moment.
“Are you sticking around after this?” he asked, leaning slightly closer.
You glanced around, noticing the crew still milling about but the bulk of the work nearly done. “Yeah, I’ll be here for a bit. Why?”
Mingi looked down, as if weighing his words before meeting your gaze again. “I was thinking… Maybe we could grab a drink or something.”
You hesitated, glancing around at the chaotic backstage scene—the racks of clothing, the scattered equipment, and the crew members still rushing around. Your excitement deflated a little as the reality of your responsibilities sank in. The day wasn’t quite over for you.
“I’d love to, really,” you started, biting your lip, “but I’ve got to stay for cleanup and a team brief afterward. It’s going to be a long night.”
Mingi’s smile faltered for a second before he gave a small nod, his expression softening with understanding. “Ah, I see. Duty calls, huh?”
“Yeah,” you sighed, feeling a twinge of disappointment.
He chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. “I can’t imagine doing what you do. You guys really are the backbone in all this, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you sit down today.”
You gave a rueful smile. “Yeah, I should’ve been a model so the only move I would be doing is down that catwalk.”
Mingi laughed, a warm sound that made you momentarily forget how tired you were. “You’d probably pull it off.”
“Not with my schedule,” you shot back, shaking your head. “Or y’know… all this.” You gestured to yourself.
“Nah don’t say that. You’re gorgeous.”
Your stomach flipped. “The model height requirement, I mean.”
Mingi’s cheeks flushed slightly, and he scratched the back of his head. He shifted his weight, biting back a shit-eating grin, as if debating whether to say something more. Then, his voice dropped a little, almost teasing. “Well, if you happen to finish early… maybe I’ll still be around.”
This guy...
You tried to keep your cool. “You should just go. Your call time is early tomorrow. Now that you’ve got your tag, you can just come in through the same entrance.”
He held your gaze, his smile lingering a little too long, eyes twinkling with mischief. “Damn. I was hoping you’d come save me again.”
You laughed softly, shaking your head as he gave one last playful salute before turning and walking off. If only you’d love your job less, you would’ve been getting drinks with a fucking model right now.

ateez as sharks
i have a passion for sharks🧍🏻‍♀️
park seonghwa - whale shark
Tumblr media
honestly they’re just gentle giants but beautiful gentle giants!! such sweet and kind 18 meter long babies…
they’re known to be one of the least aggressive fish in the sea and are incredibly un-territorial! it reminds me of how seonghwa just lets san invade his space all the time
kim hongjoong - pyjama shark
Tumblr media
tiny little guys who look so incredibly cunty!!!! i love them they’re so cool and fashionable just like hongjoong
they live in reefs which are incredibly lively environments just like i imagine the hj/wy/jh dorm must be
jeong yunho - wobbegong shark
Tumblr media
LOOK HOW SILLY!!!! just like our giant silly little guy yunho (they also grow surprisingly bigger than you expect! 3.2 metres for this guy is wild, he should be tiny)
they’re not considered dangerous to people but they’ve been known to attack a few!! just like how yunho is so calm but everyone agrees he’d be fucking dangerous if he got angry 👀
kang yeosang - zebra shark
Tumblr media
LOOK AT THESE LITTLE GUYS AND TELL ME THEY ARENT THE CUTEST THINGS EVER (yeosang included!!!)
i was going to put a fun fact here but i’m going to quote my angel @vesvosmozhno and say that the fact that they’re zebra sharks but are spotty and not stripy is incredibly yeosang coded
choi san - greenland shark
Tumblr media
greenland sharks are just abnormally large, freaky little giant guys
they’re very slow and while they’re primarily scavengers and eat whatever comes along, they have been known to engage in stealth attacks, even taking down polar bears… just like san’s aggression on stage comes from FUCKING NOWHERE HES SO GENTLE OFF STAGE WTF HAPPENS
song mingi - saw shark
Tumblr media
look how cute this giant fucking creature is! they’re so silly and sweet and have to cutest little smile ever
saw sharks are kind of clumsy (you would be too if you had a giant saw on the end of your face) but they’re incredible (and aggressive) hunters! it’s like how mingi is a cutie patootie until he steps foot on stage and then… well🧍🏻‍♀️
jung wooyoung - nurse shark
Tumblr media
nurse sharks are so sleek and perfect oh my god (also my favourite type of shark, i just think they’re so incredibly pretty)
they have an impressive dorsal fin which most people would see as a sign of danger but they’re actually docile and sweet under their dangerous exterior!!!
choi jongho - thresher shark
Tumblr media
no thoughts, head empty; i love thresher sharks so dearly. just look at them and tell me it isn’t jongho? those massive fucking eyes god i love them
but despite how silly they might seem, they’re so fucking cool! their tails can grow to 3 meters long as is used as a weapon to stun their prey and make hunting a whole lot easier for them. they’re so impressive omg

The Dame for the Gentlemen in Distress
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your life begins to spiral down when you decided to accept the hands of your childhood friend-turned pirate who invited you to be part of his crew while the said crew set the town in fire.
You haven't seen Seonghwa in years after him leaving their village with the hope of being a marine. Even if you were opposed to it, you thought that you have no rights to stop your friend from achieving his dream.
TW: This story contains themes of abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual), graphic violence, threats of harm, trauma, exploitation, and bullying. Reader discretion is advised.
This is purely fiction and no means represents Ateez’s members in real life.
Lia's Note: English is not my first language, so this might contain grammatical errors. Please bare with me. Love lots.
In front of you is the biggest ship you had ever laced your eyes upon. The ship has this ominous presence that makes a normal person like you, uneasy.
ATEEZ
Your eyes widened from the recognition of the name. Ateez is the new yet most fearful pirate crew that sails in the vast ocean. You couldn't believe that Seonghwa would become part of this deadly crew and just forget his dreams of being a general.
As you stepped your foot on the deck, you contemplate if you would just jump off from the ship, the moment you saw the rest of the crew members. They were all bloody, you’re not sure if those bloods were theirs or not (you’re pretty sure it's not).
"Now, what do we have here? I guess you've picked some stray, my dear," a short man whose hair was split into two shades, the other part black and the other white said with scrutinizing eyes in your direction. You found the nickname a bit amusing, but shrugged your curiosity away, since it not your place to pry.
"She's the one I've been telling you about, Joong. She's Y/N, my friend," you looked at Seonghwa as he introduced you with so much excitement to his crew hoping they would greet you warmly, but as you looked backed at them, they only stared at you with contempt, which is unfortunately haven't noticed by Seonghwa. You immediately knew that your presence is not welcome.
"Joong, I asked of you. She has nowhere to go. I just can't leave her alone. I beg you to let her come with us," Seonghwa held the man whom he called "Joong". You can see the shift of his expression as he is now looking at Seonghwa. Joong's expression now held some fondness to it, so different from the way he looked at you.
"Of course, my dear. Your little friend can stay, but I expect her to not just become a mouth to be fed," he answered and emphasized the last part of his words.
"She can stay as long as she's not useless or I'll kill her and feed her to the sharks."
You gulped as you interpret his words. He must be the captain, you concluded, because as all of them are scary and intimidating, this little guy exceeds a more authoritative vibes than the others.
"Thank you, Captain!" Seonghwa looked at your direction with so much joy, you reluctantly offered a smile as you saw the other's sour mood.
Damn this will be difficult. You thought.
🥀
"Hey, you clean the dishes,"
You sighed. It's been a week since you boarded Twilight, Ateez's ship, and you never stop regretting coming along with Seonghwa.
It's been a week and the rest of the crew never treated you like a human being, rather a monkey whom they can just order around. You don’t have any complaints on helping around the ship, instead you like it. You don’t want to become a burden to the crew, but them treating you like equal would be very much appreciated.
"Are you even listening to me?" Wooyoung snapped his fingers at your face and it seemed to do the job as you muttered an apology and started to clean the hell of a mess in the kitchen.
"Tsk. Can't even do her job right," you heard Wooyoung said, and it made your heart sank a little bit.
You believed that you haven’t been a freeloader in the ship, you followed every task they've assigned to you. You wiped every grime on the areas of the ship that has accumulated for years that Seonghwa could not clean because of the hectic schedule he has. You cooked them meals and put all your knowledge when you were working as a cook to a pub since you were twelve. However, those weren't appreciated by the crew except Seonghwa of course. They always have a say, they didn't do it or say anything in front of Seonghwa, but they do it behind his back. You’re just glad you have the patience and mindset of your father, because your nature to say anything without thinking placed you to difficult situations before and you don’t want that to happen right now, so you try your best to shut your mouth.
As you were now washing the dirty dishes someone entered the kitchen. You checked who it was and it was Hongjoong.
"Making yourself quite useful, huh?" Hongjoong gave you a smirk, a smirk so belittling it triggers the sleeping irritation inside you. Among the crew members, you find Hongjoong the most insufferable. As you learned all of their names, associate them by their hair colors, you also learn that Hongjoong loves Seonghwa, not just a friend but more beyond that and is not shy of displaying his jealousy after you and Seonghwa interacted. Not just Hongjoong actually, but the entire crew is jealous every time Seonghwa talks to you.
It's not that uncommon to have multiple partners, but it shocked you a little that Seonghwa has seven lovers. All of them so possessive they could bite your head off of if they want.
You didn't reply to Hongjoong, since you don’t know what to say. He approached you in the sink and leaned on the counter, staring at you menacingly.
"I swear if you’re doing this or anything to seduce, my Seonghwa, I will not hesitate to throw you off from this ship," His voice quiet but it didn't fail to make you shiver. What he said is absurd and nonsense, but you were afraid that if he became blinded by jealousy, he will really do it with no hesitation.
"I am not interested in Seonghwa, Captain. He is my friend whom helped me find a place to belong to. I owe him my life, so I am doing my best to not be a burden to his crew and it didn’t even graze my mind to seduce him, that would be weird," you calmly said, proud of yourself of not sounding too scared of him.
"Besides, Seonghwa is too in love to all of you to bat eye to another person. He already has 7 lovers that he could pin on, so why get jealous?" as much as you don’t want to ran your mouth carelessly, unfortunately your mouth was faster than your brain this time.
Hongjoong’s expression grimaced and you knew you’re screwed. Hongjoong stepped closer to you, so dangerously close and grabbed your arm tightly. You’re pretty sure it will leave an awful bruise later.
"You're a clueless little mouse, aren't you? Don't speak to me like you are a part of the crew, and remember your place. Better keep your distance to Seonghwa or I'll kill you," he lets go of you and left the kitchen, banging the door behind him.
"Possessive freaks," You muttered under her breath as she continued her task.
🥀
You heeded Hongjoong's warning-slash-threat. You kept your distance to Seonghwa, muttering an excuse every time he speaks to you. Of course, your friend wasn't an idiot. Seonghwa is not oblivious to his crewmate’s behavior towards his friend. He often scolds them every time they treated you badly, but one thing Seonghwa doesn't know, is that the more he scolded them, the brewing hatred towards her keeps boiling near its highest point.
It was a month later when they finally can't handle their jealousy anymore. They collectively didn't know why they just can't ignore you. It's not like you were seducing Seonghwa as what they have been saying, it just that your presence was an abnormality, now they don't know how to act normally.
They're not sure if it was amusement that they've been feeling from the start, masking it with jealousy to hide the fascination to finally meet their lover's friend that he told them about. They knew you are important to Seonghwa, that even after all these years he held you dear in his heart. But they can't help to act harshly towards you, seeing Seonghwa's eyes lit every time you’re around and they were threatened of you.
Questions that they can't answer starts to float around their head and it hunts them, the uncertainty of what the future holds hunts them. However, their not-so-ill feelings towards you might compromise your safety.
“Hongjoong, it’s dangerous to let her come with us! She doesn’t even know how t—” Seonghwa couldn’t finish his words as he was anxiously pacing around Hongjoong’s quarter.
“Then she should start to learn how to, right? It’s not that some of us trained to fight either, we learned as we fight,” it was Yunho.
“You don’t understand, I’m not saying she couldn’t f——” Seonghwa was cut off again when Wooyoung interrupted.
“What do we don’t understand, hyung? If you want her to stay with us then she should also fight right? We only have each other, she can at least learn how to defend herself, since I won’t,” Wooyoung bitterly said.
You are just listening from the corner of the room, and you can’t help yourself, but to say something, “I can go,” you interrupted, you can’t let the crew fight over trivial things, so you decided to intervene a little.
“I can fight. I can defend myself. Let me go with you,” you firmly said to them, with your resolve and determination not once wavered. Seonghwa sighed in defeat, thinking his crewmates will regret letting you go with them.
“That’s the spirit! Who knows if you proved yourself enough, I could consider you as a crew of Ateez?” you knew Hongjoong isn’t being sincere, but you can’t just pass this opportunity to prove yourself more. That you deserve to be a part of Ateez.
🥀
Jongho handed you a sword, and you gladly received it.
“Thank you, Jongho.”
He didn’t reply, as you expected, but the lack of words from the guy didn’t affect your mood at all. Jongho wasn’t a talker, as you’ve observed. He prefers to listen and only engage to more important discussion, never much on casual banters.
You continued to stare at the weapon on your hand. The sword was well kept, and you’re thankful that it is a sword that fits you like a glove. Just the right size and weight for you.
Their mission was to infiltrate a banquet held by a corrupt lord of an island, who’s abusing his power and authority to rule over the indigenous and original settlers of the island. And you learned again that Ateez’s nature is to steal from those who steal.
For the government and for the normal folks, Ateez’s means of doing things are considered immoral, illegal, and wrong at every angle, but to those people whom they’ve helped, they are seen as heroes, a light who brings hope.
“Y/N you don’t have to do this,” Seonghwa hasn’t stopped pleading you to change your mind, but his pleading only went to deaf ears.
“I’m not the same fifteen-year-old girl you knew, Seonghwa. I too have shared fair number of moments where I have to defend myself, if I couldn’t, I would never be here in front of you,” you said firmly. It is indeed true, from the years when Seonghwa was absent from your life, things went haywire, and it forced you to do things in order to survive. There were no gray areas, it’s either kill or to be killed, what you mean is that you could either be sold off to men and be their sex slaves or kill those men.
“I don’t mean that, you know? I know you can fight, Y/N. I would even bet my life you can take me on a fight and win fairly. It is not you I’m worried at, you know what I mean right?”
The both of you shared a knowing look. Shaking your head, you told him, “Don’t worry, Hwa. I won’t let loose,” you promised.
Oh, boy you speak too soon.
🥀
“SOMEBODY STOP HER!” Mingi shouted as he fights someone. His pleas fell into deaf ears as you continued to bash the head of the guy who’s groping a young girl earlier. He is the last guy you’ve beaten up, so you make sure you did a number on him.
When the nine of you arrived in the banquet, it was full of old men and young children. The scene that you’ve arrived with was so disgusting it almost made you throw up all of the food you ate earlier.
These men were feasting to these children, making them sit in their laps, touching their bodies, kissing them in areas that old men shouldn’t lay their hands on. Pictures flashed in your minds, the scenes where you rescued young children from the hands of those rich filthy bastards whose past time are getting off watching children get mauled by other men. It made you sick to the stomach, seeing the traumatized faces of those children that mirrors the looks on the children here on the island.
The disgust suddenly turns into anger and the moment your hand touches your sword, you let your instinct took over your body until you were snapped from your trance when you hear voices calling out your name.
“FUCK! SHE’S FUCKING INSANE! Y/N! DON’T CRUSH HIS HEAD!” Hongjoong yelled in a distance, then you see yourself straddling a bloody man with a bloodied wine bottle in your hand. You weren’t satisfied enough since the man is still conscious, you’ve done this a lot to know when he’s dying, but he’s far from it, so you continued pounding the bottle to his head.
“JONGHO, RESTRAIN HER!” Jongho kicked the man he was fighting and ran towards you. You felt him pry you away from the poor guy you’ve fixated on.
“Y/N that’s enough, you’ll end up killing him.”
You straightened yourself and glanced around. Everything’s a mess, but the man’s face below you is messier. “Crap, are we not supposed to kill any?” you asked Jongho with genuine concern, “I didn’t kill any, right?” you added. Of course, you knew you didn’t, you just asked for courtesy.
Jongho sighed before answering, “Yes, we’re not supposed to kill anyone, Y/N, and fortunately you didn’t kill anyone from your savagery earlier,” he handed you a cloth that seemed to be a handkerchief.
You hesitantly accepted it, but nevertheless you used it to wiped your face as per Jongho pointed out, “You look like you’ve been in a blood rain, wipe your face, can you?” he said. You smiled from the gesture and realized that this has been the longest he’s spoken to you.
“You’re crazy, I like it,” he said to you before walking towards the others. You feel the pride swelling in your heart. Hearing Jongho somewhat acknowledging you was very rewarding, so you ran and catch up to him as you two reached where the rest of the crew was.
“Y/N! What did I say about losing control? I knew bringing you here was a terrible idea,” The joy you felt earlier suddenly switched. Seonghwa’s look of disappointment to you reminded you of the past where he is always scolding you from being too much.
“Yeah, and thanks to her we almost compromised our mission,” San said in a huff, and you see him rolling his eyes to you. Guilt starts to eat you as you see their annoyed and disappointed faces, except Jongho who said, “Guys, she didn’t compromise the mission, if not for her we wouldn’t subjugated Lord Kwon,” he pointed out the man whom you left just earlier.
“She single-handedly fought with Kwon’s guard, she deserved to be praised, is she not?” Jongho added.
Ateez’s dynamic never seems to amaze you, as you see how Jongho’s words affect the others. He may be the youngest in Ateez, but his words still held authority. All of them values each other’s opinion and that is one of their traits that you admire and one of the reasons you learned to respect them. Yes, Hongjoong is their captain, but the rest have their rights to voice their suggestions and concern.
“Seonghwa, I think you might have forgotten to mention that our little mouse here is a trained fighter, and not just your damsel in distress,”
“She wasn’t trained, Joong, she has to, or she would have ended up like the children we’re rescuing from, years ago.”

treasure film days
Tumblr media
For those who have not seen the treasure film, the boys had to do individual challenges and group challenges to "find" the treasure
pt1 the challenge
Tumblr media
The air crackled with nervous energy as the Ateez members gathered around a table in their Sydney hotel room. They had just received their 'Treasure Film' challenge sheets, a colorful array of tasks designed to test their courage, resourcefulness, and, of course, their comedic timing. It was their first time filming in Australia, and the vibrant energy of the city was infectious.
Ana, scanned the sheet, her brows furrowing. The tasks were a mix of daring and ridiculous, each matched to their individual personalities. San had to swim with sharks , Wooyoung had to ask a friend of her mom to give him food , and Mingi had to order some things in a pharmacy all by himself Ana’s eyes settled on hers: 'Skydive and take a selfie.'
Ana glanced at Hongjoong, their leader, who was carefully studying his own challenge, a mischievous glint in his eyes. He knew about her fear of heights, “Ana,” Hongjoong whispered, his voice laced with amusement, “You okay?” Ana swallowed, forcing a smile. “Just… thinking about it.” “I bet you’re going to be great,” he said, his voice laced with a reassuring confidence that calmed her a little.
A couple of hours later, the group gathered at the airfield, their nervous laughter echoing in the vast, open space. Hongjoong stood nearby, a watchful observer, a small smile playing on his lips as the cameramen began their preparations.
Ana sat at the edge of the runway, her heart pounding like a drum solo. The skydivers, clad in bright orange jumpsuits, seemed calm and collected, though their faces seemed to radiate a strange kind of madness.
“Ready, Ana?” the cameraman asked, his voice a little too chipper for the situation.
Ana’s knees trembled.
One by one, the skydivers climbed into the plane, their faces a mix of excitement and apprehension. When it was Ana’s turn, Hongjoong approached, his hand on her shoulder, his eyes twinkling.
“You got this,” he whispered, a reassuring squeeze before he stepped back.
Ana took a shaky breath as she climbed the ladder of the small plane, the cold wind whipping through her hair. The world shrunk beneath her as the plane ascended, the vast expanse of the land becoming a patchwork of greens and browns. Her stomach tightened, fear tightening its grip on her. This was crazy.
The wind hummed through the plane windows, and Ana, with her pale face and wet eyes, clung with all her might to the edges of the seat. Her heart was pounding like a maddened buffalo in her chest.
'Ana, are you ready?' The instructor's voice, a burly man with a smile too cheerful for the situation, echoed through the noise of the plane.
'No, no, no,' Ana let out a sob. 'Why are you doing me this? I pay you, I give you everything you want, but please don't make me jump. I'm not cut out for this kind of thing.'
'Don't worry, Ana. It's an incredible experience. Look at the view!' The instructor pushed her toward the open door of the plane.
Ana clung to the door for dear life, looking down in horror. The ground stretched like an endless chess board. Her stomach clenched as she saw the distance, and her legs began to tremble.
'I can't, I can't, I can't,' Ana whispered, tears threatening to overflow.
'What's wrong, Ana?' the instructor asked, a hint of concern in his voice.
'I'm afraid of heights,' Ana said, her voice shaking. 'I'm afraid of dying. I'm afraid of everything.'
'Don't worry, Ana. I'll be with you all the time. Come on, just a little jump!' The instructor pushed her lightly into the void.
'No! No! No!' Ana screamed, clinging to the instructor with a force that would have probably broken her bones.
'Ana, relax! It's just a jump!' The instructor, feeling a little uncomfortable with Ana's iron grip, tactfully tried to free himself from her. 'Besides, if you get off now, you can tell all your fans later,' he said with a wry smile.
Ana froze. His fans! The thought of the shame she would feel if her fans found out about her fear of heights filled her with a new terror, a terror even more intense than the fear of falling.
'It's okay,' Ana said, taking a deep breath. 'I'm going to do it, but… can you hold me tight and not let me fall?'
The instructor looked at her with a wry smile. 'Of course, Ana. I'm going to hold you very tight. Get ready for the adventure of your life!'
And with that, Ana, holding on to the instructor like a koala to a tree, launched herself into the void, screaming like a little girl. The wind whipped her face and the sound of her own scream echoed in her ears. Fear paralyzed her, but despite the terror, a small thought floated into her mind: at least her fear of heights would be a great story to tell her fans.
Ana took out her phone, her hands still trembling. She focused her lens on the breathtaking panorama and pressed the button, capturing the moment, the feeling of being alive, free, and conquering her fear. She had done it.
Back on the ground, she was greeted by laughter and cheers. The crew, the cameraman, the other Ateez members - even the skydiver who jumped with her – all seemed to be in on the joke, their faces lit by amusement.
“Ana!” Mingi cried, doubling over as he choked back a laugh. “Your face was priceless! Do you even realize how funny you were while falling?”
Even San, managed a chuckle, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “I knew you could do it, Uno,” he said, using his nickname for her.
Hongjoong just smiled, his eyes warmly admiring.

The air crackled with anticipation as Ana, Hongjoong, Yeosang, and Wooyoung stood in line at the concession stand, the smell of buttery popcorn and sugary soda filling their senses. This wasn't just any movie night; it was a challenge orchestrated by Hongjoong himself. He was dared to watch an entire English-language film without subtitles, a feat that seemed impossible considering his infamous sleepiness.
'I'm going to have to rely on the power of sheer will,' Hongjoong declared, his voice laced with a hint of nervousness as he surveyed the massive popcorn buckets. 'And this glorious sugary fuel.'
Wooyoung, ever the playful instigator, nudged him playfully. 'Don't worry, hyung. We'll all be your personal translators, even if they're just mumbled whispers in your ear.'
Yeosang, on the other hand, was surprisingly invested. He leaned towards the counter, his eyes scanning the menu with an almost academic curiosity. 'What kind of film did you choose, Hongjoong?'
'A classic,' Hongjoong said with a dramatic flourish. 'One that will truly test my limits.' He winked, 'Just wait till you see the trailer.'
The popcorn, a mountain of fluffy goodness, arrived, and they settled into their plush seats in the darkened theater. The crew had rented the entire space for their little experiment, a decision that felt both luxurious and strangely isolating. The lights dimmed, the opening credits rolled, and the story began to unfold.
The first few minutes were a blur of unfamiliar dialogues and foreign accents. Yet, Hongjoong, driven by his own challenge and an intrinsic need to prove himself, clung onto every spoken word, every dramatic inflection.
As the movie progressed, however, fatigue began to set in. His eyelids grew heavy, his head bobbing forward in an act of defiance against sleep. Around him, his friends succumbed one by one. Yeosang, with his usual quiet dignity, leaned against Wooyoung’s shoulder, his head resting against the soft fabric of his hoodie. Wooyoung, barely able to keep his eyes open, surrendered completely, his head drooping against the seatback, a slight snore escaping through his parted lips.
Ana, who had always been a light sleeper, managed to stay awake for a surprisingly long time, occasionally turning to Hongjoong with a concerned frown. But eventually, she too succumbed to sleep, softly snuggling up to Wooyoung, finding comfort in his warmth.
The rest of the film moved at a snail’s pace. Hongjoong, alone in a sea of slumbering faces, felt a mix of annoyance and pride. He’d lost count of how many times he’d had to fight the urge to close his eyes, to succumb to the comforting embrace of sleep. It was a mental battle, a testament to his determination. As the last image faded and the credits rolled, he finally let his head droop, defeated by the unrelenting fatigue.
He looked around at his friends, their faces peaceful in sleep. A gentle smile played on his lips as he observed Ana, curled up against Wooyoung like a sleepy kitten, Yeosang, comfortably slumped against Wooyoung’s side, and Wooyoung, fast asleep with a soft, rhythmic snore.
“Always the champions of sleep,” Hongjoong muttered to himself, his voice barely a whisper. He knew that his friends would feel a pang of embarrassment once they woke up

Ana stared at the camera, perched precariously on a stack of books on San's desk. It was supposed to be a simple 'good morning' message for Atinys, but the simple act of greeting their fans seemed to be turning into a comedy show starring only Ana.
'Good morning, Atinys!' she started, her voice bright and bubbly. 'It’s a beautiful day outside...' She glanced at the window, a thin sheet of rain lashing against the glass. 'Okay, maybe not a *beautiful* day, but it's a day nonetheless!'
The camera caught the faintest twitch of San’s eyebrow as he sat on his bed, his headphones on, completely engrossed in his phone. San was good about respecting her space, mostly. But this lack of interaction was a little... unnerving. Especially when she could feel his eyes on her every few seconds.
'Anyways,' she carried on, 'I hope you all have a wonderful day, full of sunshine and... and... well, I don’t know, anything you enjoy? I’m still trying to find my own sunshine.'
She sighed dramatically, leaning on her hand. This felt less like a greeting and more like a therapy session.
“Oh, and remember to eat breakfast, and drink lots of water,' she continued, suddenly serious. 'And if you’re feeling down, just remember… you’re not alone.”
She paused for a beat, then added with a mischievous grin, “Not literally, but you know what I mean.”
San finally looked up from his phone, a barely-there smirk playing on his lips.
Ana, emboldened by his amusement, decided to up the ante.
“Speaking of feeling down,” she said, gazing directly into the camera, “I’m feeling a little… under the weather.” She let out a dramatic cough, followed by a cough so fake even a five-year-old would know it was staged.
San, unfortunately, was not a five-year-old. He snorted, a sound that was half-suppressed laughter, half-choked disbelief.
“Why are you so… theatrical?” he grumbled, still staring at his phone but a hint of a smile creeping onto his face.
Ana pretended not to hear him, continuing with her performance. She coughed again, with theatrical flair, then leaned forward like she was about to reveal a shocking secret.
“Actually,” she whispered, her voice dropping to a dramatic whisper, “I think I’ve caught… the San-flu.”
San finally broke, throwing his head back and laughing. He was truly laughing, his shoulders shaking, a joyous sound that echoed through the room.
'I think you need to teach me some of your acting skills,' he said, his voice still tinged with amusement.
“I already did,” Ana replied, tilting her head with mock solemnity. 'That’s why you're always so dramatic.”
---------------
'San, do you think this is cute?' She showed him the recording, a grimace plastered on her face.
San burst out laughing. 'No offense, Ana, but that was, well, how do I say this politely… not quite 'cute'?' he chuckled. 'More like 'caffeine-deprived-zombie-trying-to-awaken-a-sleeping-giant'.'
Ana groaned. 'This is hopeless.'
'Don't say that!' San encouraged, his eyes sparkling. 'Look, just be yourself, alright? We love you, cringy moments and all. Just imagine you're talking to your friends.'
Ana contemplated his advice. 'Okay, maybe I can do this.'
Taking a deep breath, she began recording again. 'Good morning, Atiny! It’s Ana,' she started, her voice sounding more natural this time. 'I hope you’re having a great day.' She decided to channel her inner San and added with a chuckle, 'If you’re not, then don’t worry, you’re not alone. We all have those days. And remember, you’re all amazing!'
As she finished the message, her eyes darted to the clock. Only ten minutes left until the group message deadline! She quickly moved on to the next part, trying to think of something cute and memorable.
'Okay, how about this…' she muttered to herself, placing a hand on her cheek, pretending to be shy. 'Good morning, Atiny! Today is going to be amazing, just like you!'
A loud, snorting cough from the living room made her jump. She peeked through the door to see San clutching his stomach, tears streaming down his face.
'What?' Ana asked, bewildered.
“You're… you're channeling your inner-Mingi, dude!' San said between fits of laughter. 'Your facial expressions are priceless!'
Ana’s cheeks flushed red. 'Oh, no, I can't be caught dead trying to do a Mingi.'
San managed to compose himself, wiping his tears with a sleeve. “Okay, okay, how about this? Go for a simple, classic good morning. And maybe, just maybe… try a dance move? A little something for the fans.”
Desperate for a solution, Ana grabbed her phone and started scrolling through videos on TikTok.
'Oh! I got it!' she exclaimed, her eyes alight with an idea.
The camera started recording and she threw her hands in the air, mimicking a classic K-Pop move. But as she tried to execute the motion, her feet got tangled, and she stumbled, landing flat on the carpet.
A wave of laughter erupted from the living room. 'Ana!' San's voice rang out. 'Don't worry, I'm fine!' Ana called back, scrambling to her feet. “Just a little, uh, choreography malfunction.”
She decided to play it cool and finish the message, flashing a strained smile at the camera. “Okay, Atiny, I hope you have a wonderful day. See you soon, and always remember… you're all amazing!'
She uploaded the message and hurried to the living room, where the rest of ATEEZ were gathered, their faces a mix of amusement and concern.'You alright, Ana?' Yunho asked, his eyes filled with concern.'Yeah, just a few bumps in the road,' Ana replied, flashing a smile. 'But hey, at least it made San laugh.”San, wiping away a tear, nodded. 'Indeed. You know, Ana, for a girl who’s absolutely terrified of being cute… you’re a natural comedic genius.'

In the enchanted realm beneath the endless expanse of cerulean waves, a mermaid and her devoted companion, a magnificent tiger shark, engaged in their timeless play. With grace and agility, they twirled and glided through the crystal-clear depths, their laughter echoing through the ocean currents.
The mermaid possessed a beauty that could rival the most vibrant sunrise. Her tail shimmered with iridescent hues, a kaleidoscope of azure, sapphire, and emerald, adorned with intricate patterns that mirrored the delicate intricacies of coral reefs. Silver and pearl accents adorned her fin tips, reflecting the sunlight in a dazzling display of elegance.
Her tresses, filled with a myriad of braids, cascaded in flowing waves, kissed by the salty sea breeze, entwined with shimmering seashells. Each braid, intricately woven and adorned with delicate seashells, created a mesmerizing tapestry that told stories of forgotten treasures and ancient legends. Clinging to her upper body, a bra crafted from intricately woven seashells created an enchanting contrast against her radiant skin, its luminescent luster accentuated by scattered flecks of ocean dew.
But it was the necklace, the jewel that held the essence of her being, that captured the mermaid's essence. Passed down through generations, it was a masterpiece of oceanic artistry, crafted from rare pearls, glistening gemstones, and the ethereal glow of moonlight captured within a crystal pendant. Suspended delicately around her neck, it symbolized her lineage, her connection to the sea, and the profound love her parents had bestowed upon her.
Days slipped by in an endless dance of laughter and adventure, as the mermaid and her shark companion reveled in their eternal bond. The mermaid, with her ethereal voice, serenaded the waves, casting a spell upon all who heard her melodic enchantments. The shark, with his sleek and muscular form, swam beside her, a guardian and playmate, his razor-sharp teeth concealing a heart of unparalleled loyalty.
Yet, amidst their carefree existence, destiny weaved its intricate tapestry. Unbeknownst to the mermaid, her treasured necklace had slipped away, lost in the vast embrace of the ocean depths. Days passed in blissful ignorance until a haunting emptiness settled within her soul, a deep ache that could not be soothed.
It was on a tranquil morning, as she basked in the gentle caress of sunlight cascading through the shimmering waves, that she absentmindedly reached for her necklace, only to find it absent from its rightful place. Panic surged through her, pulsating with each beat of her fragile heart. Frantically, she searched, combing through her precious troves and secret hideaways, but her beloved jewel was nowhere to be found.
With growing desperation, she confided in her steadfast friend, the tiger shark who had shared her every joy and sorrow. As she poured out her anguish, her voice quivered with raw emotion, every word an echo of her profound loss. The shark, his eyes filled with empathy, listened intently, his silent presence a pillar of strength.
Days turned into nights, and nights into weeks, as the mermaid's sorrow lingered like an ever-present shadow. But amidst the depths of despair, a faint glimmer of hope emerged. A whisper of intuition guided her restless heart, and a determination blossomed within her very being.
She called upon the enchanting power that dwelled within her. With a gentle whisper, she sent out a plea to the inhabitants of the ocean, beckoning the creatures of the deep to aid her in her quest. From the majestic dolphins to the graceful seahorses, every creature received her message, carrying it through the currents with a sense of urgency.
Among the coral reefs and beneath the shimmering surface, the message spread like ripples in the water. The shimmering scales of tropical fish flickered with anticipation, while the wise sea turtles nodded in understanding. Even the elusive octopi, masters of disguise, shared the mermaid's plea among their fellow beings of the sea.
Time unfurled its wings, as she patiently waited for a response. And then, on an unexpected morning, a small and timid fish approached her, its vibrant colors contrasting against its shy demeanor. With trembling fins, the little fish revealed that it had seen a shimmering object in the southern waters, nestled near the Grand Coral Barrier.
The young girl's heart leapt with hope, even as concern creased her brow. For the south, near the coral barrier, was known to be a gathering place for pirates. It was a treacherous and unpredictable territory, where danger lurked beneath the waves. But the mermaid's determination burned brightly within her, fueled by her longing to reclaim what was lost.
With gratitude in her eyes, she thanked the small fish for its bravery and shared information, with a small peck to its mouth. She listened attentively as the fish described the exact location, painting a vivid picture of the treacherous waters and the coral formations that marked the way. The mermaid's voice, soft yet resolute, promised the fish that she would not forget its kindness.
Tumblr media
As the mermaid ventured deeper into the heart of the Grand Coral Barrier, a shroud of darkness enveloped the waters, casting eerie shadows upon the once-vibrant reefs. The light struggled to penetrate the murky depths, leaving a sense of foreboding that hung heavy in the surrounding gloom. The corals, once bursting with vibrant colors, now appeared muted and lifeless, their intricate formations reminiscent of gnarled fingers reaching out from the abyss.
In this treacherous realm, her heart pounded in her chest, a symphony of fear echoing through her very being. Every flicker of movement caught her attention, each shadow playing tricks upon her anxious mind. The once-familiar fish that had greeted her with joyous dances now swam with moody eyes, casting wary glances her way. Their expressions carried a silent warning, cautioning her about the perils that lurked in the bottomless pit.
The silence was broken only by the distant sounds of creaking ships, their ghostly presence a haunting reminder of the dangers that lay ahead. It was as if the coral barrier itself held its breath, a stillness that spoke of secrets buried within the abyss, waiting to be discovered. The mermaid's senses heightened, her every nerve tingling with trepidation.
With each stroke of her shimmering tail, the mermaid pressed on, her movements cautious yet resolute. The uneven terrain of the coral barrier posed challenges at every turn, its jagged edges and hidden crevices threatening to ensnare the unwary. Yet, fueled by her determination and the glimmer of hope that flickered within her heart, she pressed forward, pushing past her fears.
In this unsettling environment, the mermaid's vulnerability was magnified. She felt the weight of the unknown bearing down upon her, the weight of an ocean that held both beauty and danger. And yet, within her fear, she summoned the strength to face the darkness, to conquer the shadows that threatened to consume her.
"Neptune, do you see it?" she whispered gently to the sleek shark gliding by her side, who seemed to possess an uncanny sense for hidden treasures beneath the darkened depths (the gems adorning his teeth being the living proof of it). "I feel like it would be easy to notice it, you know? One would think it impossible to miss such a sparkling beacon."
The shark halted in its fluid motion, swiveled to face her with a discerning gaze. A sly grin tugged at the corners of his toothy maw. "You underestimate the allure of shadows. A jewel requires light to reflect its brilliance, and alas, light eludes this realm, dumbass" he retorted with a hint of sarcasm, elicited a gentle pout and an affectionate nudge from the girl.
Before she could muster a retort, Neptune swiftly vanished, a streak of power and agility slicing through the water behind her. Bewilderment danced across her face, her beautiful eyes searching for answers. And then, as if in response to an unseen call, her attention was abruptly captivated.
"What are you—" Her words evaporated when her eyes finally captured the cause of his sudden departure.
There, in a clandestine embrace, her necklace entwined itself around the slender body of a solitary fish. Yet, the challenge was not the possession but the surrounding company. A mesmerizing tapestry of iridescent sardines encircled the coveted treasure, their synchronized movements reminiscent of a beautifully choreographed ballet. Navigating through their shimmering ranks proved to be an enigmatic puzzle, as if the very currents conspired against her.
With unwavering determination, Neptune launched himself into the intricate dance, his every attempt to seize the prize met with the evasive dispersion of the sardines. A sigh of frustration escaped him, mingling with the rhythmic symphony of the ocean's depths.
Undeterred by the elusive nature of her aquatic companions, the mermaid approached the congregation with gentle "steps", her voice carrying the delicate lilt of a siren's plea. "Greetings, my shimmering kin. I simply yearn to retrieve my beloved necklace. I am in dire—"
A cacophony of hurried murmurs echoed in response, the voices of the sardines blending into a sea of hurried commotion.
"No time to spare!"
"We are tardy for our duties!"
"Come back another time!"
"Far too occupied!"
"Return when tides are kinder!"
Undeterred by the chorus of reluctance, she exhaled a wearied sigh and sought respite upon a craggy coral formation. Perched high above the shimmering sea floor, her gaze remained fixated upon the enigmatic congregation. Her resplendent tail swayed gently against the ancient rock, an outward reflection of the ceaseless churning within her mind.
As Neptune persisted, his every valiant attempt met with disillusioned defeat, an unseen peril began to unfold. Unbeknownst to them, a looming net descended ominously from a boat from above, a trap concealed by the shadows. Neptune, in his tenacity, once again lunged to apprehend the elusive fish, only to catch sight of the imminent net and narrowly elude its grasp.
In a desperate cry, Neptune's voice pierced the underwater tapestry, summoning the mermaid from her pensive perch. Her eyes widened, a kaleidoscope of emotions swirling within their depths. As her gaze fell upon the ensnared fish, deep into the net.
Trapped
"No, no, fuck no, no, no fuck!" the situation had been further compounded. The fish was now beyond her reach, ensnared in the clutches of humanity, likely to retain possession of her precious necklace instead of coming rightfully back into her ownership.
With desperation gripping her heart, the mermaid grasped the coarse strands of the net, her delicate hands fiercely tugging against its relentless grip. Neptune, always loyal, joined in the struggle, his powerful presence lending her strength. Together, they strained against the resistance, their determination radiating through the turbulent waters.
But the net, woven with human cunning and unforgiving strength, fought back with a stubborn tenacity. The mermaid and her faithful shark could feel the weight of their adversary, its unforgiving pull threatening to yank them into a world of captivity. Their hearts sank as they realized their efforts were in vain.
As if obeying an invisible command, the net began its ascent, inch by agonizing inch. Helpless, they watched as their chances of recovering the necklace slipped through their fingers. The mermaid's cries echoed through the depths, a mournful lament for the loss of her cherished symbol of heritage and love.
With a final heave, the net breached the surface, lifting the ensnared fish and the precious necklace into the realm of humans. The mermaid, defeated, surfaced alongside the disappearing net, her glare fixed on the vessel that now possessed her beloved treasure.
Unbeknownst to the mermaid, her presence had not gone unnoticed aboard the ship. Yeosang, the skilled helmsman, stood tall upon the quarter deck, his gaze intently fixed upon the enchanting figure before him. Clad in a black fur coat, shielding him from the relentless winds, he exuded an air of quiet confidence amidst the bustling crew.
As he observed the mermaid with an unwavering focus, his eyes drank in her captivating form. He was struck by the way she wore the sea itself upon her, for intertwined amidst her flowing locks were tendrils of seaweed, verdant and alive. They danced and swayed with each ripple of water, whispering. It was as if the very essence of the ocean had entwined itself within her hair, a testament to her intimate connection with the watery realm.
Yeosang's gaze lingered upon her with an intensity that betrayed his fascination. His raven-black hair, sleek and parted in the middle, framed his face like a midnight sky, a stark contrast against his pale complexion. His eyes, a striking shade of light green, fixated upon her with unwavering determination, as if he could glimpse the secrets hidden within her depths.
Around his neck rested a peculiar necklace, a compass of intricate design, serving as both a navigational tool and a symbol of his unwavering dedication to his craft. It gleamed against the expanse of his pristine white shirt, a token of his commitment to charting a course through the unpredictable seas
Caught in a moment of stolen longing, Yeosang found himself bewitched by the mermaid's presence. The weight of responsibility as helmsman momentarily forgotten, he yearned to bridge the divide between their worlds.
Captivated by the mermaid's unwavering glare, Yeosang couldn't help but find her inexplicably adorable. It was an enchanting paradox—this small, delicate creature staring down his crew, notorious for their ruthless reputation upon the sea. Their infamy preceded them, feared by all who dared to cross their path. Yet, here she was, exuding a quiet strength and defiance that seemed to belie her petite frame.
Curiosity danced within Yeosang's mind as he pondered the reasons behind her intense gaze. What had brought her to fix her eyes upon his crew with such determination? It was the first encounter he had with a mermaid, but he had long known of their existence, whispered tales and legends passed down through generations of sailors.
Was it possible that his crew had encroached upon her realm, depriving her of a bountiful meal that was rightfully hers? Or perhaps, in the perilous dance of predator and prey, they had become her potential feast, their presence serving as a tantalizing invitation for her primal instincts.
Regardless of the answer, Yeosang found himself irresistibly drawn to her. Her eyes, though small in comparison to the vastness of the sea, radiated a captivating power that commanded attention. They held secrets untold, a glimpse into a world beyond his own, and he yearned to unravel the enigma that lay within those captivating orbs.
As his eyes lower themselves on her small pout, Yeosang found his thoughts wandering into treacherous territory. Her lips, delicately shaped and adorned with a hint of natural allure, beckoned to him like the siren's song. It was an uncharted territory of desire that stirred within him, a magnetic pull that defied reason and logic.
His mind, usually consumed by the demands of the sea and the perils of their pirate pursuits, now found itself drifting to thoughts of a different nature. Thoughts of stolen glances, stolen moments, and stolen kisses. The allure of her pout, a mere glimpse into her tender vulnerability, ignited a flame of longing within him that burned with an intensity he had never known. Was this the true power of a mermaid? For in her presence, he fell under a spell of enchantment without a single note escaping her lips.
The black haired boy's attention was abruptly torn from his reverie by a cacophony of screams emanating from the ship's deck. Curiosity piqued, he swiftly turned to observe the source of the commotion, his gaze landing on the master-at-arms. A radiant smile graced the man's face, showing off his dimples, as he proudly held up a stunning necklace, while cradling a captured fish in his other hand.
"Behold, ATEEZ!" San exclaimed with undeniable excitement, his voice filled with triumph. "Look what I've discovered!"
The necklace, a breathtaking masterpiece of aquatic elegance, held the beholder's gaze captive with its sublime craftsmanship. Strands of silver, delicate as moonlight on water, intertwined gracefully, forming a sinuous chain that embraced the neck with a gentle embrace. The metal seemed to shimmer with an ethereal glow, as if infused with the essence of the sea itself.
Adorning the necklace were an array of luminous pearls, each one a testament to the ocean's boundless beauty. They shimmered like iridescent tears, their opalescent hues dancing in harmony with the sunlight. Light cascaded across their smooth surfaces, creating an enchanting play of colors that evoked the depths of the ocean's mysteries.
At the heart of the necklace, a captivating gemstone held court, commanding attention with its mesmerizing allure. A deep azure jewel, it gleamed with an otherworldly radiance, as if it held the secrets of the sea within its crystalline core. Its facets caught the light, casting shimmering reflections that mirrored the ebb and flow of the tides.
Upon closer inspection, delicate engravings adorned the silverwork, tracing intricate patterns inspired by the natural world. Seashells, rendered with meticulous detail, seemed to whisper tales of distant shores and hidden treasures. The craftsmanship revealed the skill and artistry of a master jeweler, their hand imbuing the necklace with a sense of wonder and enchantment.
As the necklace dangled delicately in the master-at-arms's hand, it seemed to possess a magnetic pull, drawing the eyes of all who beheld it. Its beauty transcended mere adornment.
San, his black hair composed of red streaks bouncing on his head, continued to regale his crewmates with tales of his discovery, the necklace serving as a tangible testament to his triumph.
San's cute laugh resonated, its pure and unadulterated sound cutting through the ruggedness of the pirate ship, "it seems our little fish friend has a taste for jewelry!", San's laughter continued to ripple through the air as he delicately lifted the fish, cradling it in his hands. With a mischievous twinkle in his eyes, he brought the fish closer to his face, their gaze locking in an amusing encounter. His joy-filled laughter seemed to dance in his eyes, forming gentle crinkles at the corners—a captivating aegyosal that radiated warmth and sincerity.
The crew watched this endearing scene unfold, their laughter blending with the rhythmic lapping of waves against the ship's hull. The contagious joy mirrored in San's eyes illuminated the camaraderie among the pirates, weaving a tapestry of shared laughter and the beauty of genuine connection.
Finally understanding the reason behind the mermaid's anger, the helmsman turns to look at the pretty girl, only to find her crying.
Yeosang's heart sank as he beheld the mermaid's tears streaming down her ethereal face. The crystalline droplets fell relentlessly, yet her gaze remained distant and vacant. It was as though she was unaware of her own weeping, her soul consumed by an insatiable longing for the stolen necklace. The sight shattered his heart into countless fragments. Oh, how he yearned to reach out and gather her fragile form into his arms, whispering words of solace and assuring her that nothing could harm her with him by her side. His fingers itched to snatch the pendant from San's clutches, to restore it to its rightful owner.
Descending with resolute determination, Yeosang strode purposefully across the deck towards San. With a swift motion, he seized the pendant, his eyes burning with a mixture of anger and anguish. His gaze darted around in search of the mermaid, intending to fling the precious artifact to her. Yet, to his dismay, she had vanished. Disappeared without a trace. A sharp pang of longing pierced his chest, leaving him bereft and yearning for her presence.
His trembling hand tightened around the necklace, the temptation to cast it into the depths beneath almost overwhelming. Surely, she resided beneath the waves, seeking solace in the depths she called home. But his selfish desires held him back. If he held onto the necklace, would God be kind enough to reunite them? Would he be blessed with another glimpse of her, as she ventured forth in search of her stolen treasure? His steps faltered, uncertainty gripping his heart.
In a moment of reckoning, Yeosang made a decision. Swiftly, he concealed the necklace within the depths of his coat pocket, a silent vow to protect it until the day she crossed his path again. With a heavy sigh, he retreated to the solace of his chambers, the slamming of the door serving as an unspoken signal to his fellow crewmates that he sought solitude. Confusion etched upon their faces, they remained behind, perplexed by the enigmatic turn of events.

Walk The Plank (K.HJ x fem reader)
Tumblr media
Chapter 2: Wooyoung’s Choice
You had grown up hearing tales about the infamous pirate crew ATEEZ—the fearless, power-hungry men that roamed the seas in search of the most valuable treasures they could lay their hands on. You almost didn't believe the stories your mother had told you as a child...not until you wound up on their ship
Warnings for this chapter: Mentions of weapons
A/N: Thank for you for the support!
Previous Chapter: The Man in the Black Fedora, Masterlist
Chapter 2: Wooyoung's Choice
"Alright wench, let's lay down a few rules for you."
"Stop. You'll scare her, Mingi."
"Yeosang, sometimes fear must be instilled in order for there to be compliance. We can not have any games here, savvy? For all you know, she could try to collect our bounties, given the chance."
"I-I suppose," the man you learned was named Yeosang says, his scruffy blond hair hiding his eyes. There are eight men that stand before you that you assume to be the original crew—the ones who started their search for treasures far and wide. The captain pushes his way past Mingi and his crew mates.
"Settle down, would you?" He scolds, coming to your side. You feel overwhelmed by the presence of so many eyes upon you—much less the eyes of ATEEZ. "Y/N has made a deal with me and agreed to help us retrieve the Cromer. If you do any harm to her, you will become good mates with the sharks. Do I make myself clear?"
"Aye, Captain," they reply in unison.
"And if she does harm to us?" Mingi asks. Hongjoong looks over at you and gives you a wink before turning back to face his crew.
"Then she walks the plank." Your blood runs cold at his response, muscles tensing at the thought of such a horrid death. "But that will not be necessary, will it, Y/N?" The captain gives you a smile. In one swift motion, he pulls a blade from his pocket and cuts the rope that binds your wrists. You are immediately relieved of the discomfort and begin to examine the ugly marks the rope left behind. "Will it?" He repeats. You look up at him, ignoring the other sets of eyes on you.
"No, Captain," you comply.
"Good. Seonghwa, show our new crew mate to the quarters."
"Yes, Captain." A tall man with his hair shaved at the sides quickly turns around, heading for the door. You keep your gaze on his polished black boots that fit his clean appearance as you follow him. You hadn't given it much thought until now that the pirates are oddly handsome—again something you would not expect.
Seonghwa does not stop until he reaches the crew's quarters. He heads down, then turns and waits for you to follow. "This," he gestures to an abundance of hammocks, some lined with furs, wools, and other various items of comfort, "is where we stay." His sharp brows crease in thought. "However, as a woman, it might be more comfortable for you here."
Seonghwa brings you over to the farther side of the room to a sheet of fabric that serves as a curtain, covering two small beds. "This is sometimes where the men sleep if they are ill, but it might serve you well, as no one is at the moment." You nod as he speaks.
"Thank you, Seonghwa." He seems unsure how to respond, cheeks tinting a bit pink from what you assume is embarrassment.
"You are welcome, Miss."
"My name is Y/N," you remind him.
"How do you know about the Cromer?" he asks curiously, heading up the steps to the upper deck.
"Well, my father is very interested in obtaining artifacts of those sorts. I have walked into his studies countless times as a child and asked what he was doing. He would tell me tales of these artifacts and somewhere along the line, I became interested myself. Who does not want a taste of magic? It is something fascinating that I would love to see for myself," you explain.
"I admire that, Y/N."
"You are not what I imag—"
"SEONGHWA!" A man with big eyes and a strip of blonde hair comes running over.
"Aye, San?"
"Can we show Y/N the guns? I have a feeling she would be a good shot." He grins.
"Not yet. Why don't you take her back to Hongjoong for now," Seonghwa suggests.
"Okay! Come on!" San heads for the captain's quarters that you had left only a few minutes before. He opens the door without knocking and bows, gesturing for you to go ahead. "After you, love." He smiles.
"Thank you, San." You step into the cabin and he shuts the door behind you, the captain barely looking up from the papers on his desk to see who has entered. Taking slow steps, you come to observe the mess atop the table. Maps and illustrations are sprawled across its surface and markings of ink cross each other at every point. "Wow," you breathe out. He looks up at you and lets out a huff.
"Not so great when you look at it for a long time. Frustrating beyond belief," he grunts, setting down his dividers and ink pen in defeat. As he runs his hands through his rugged hair, you pick up his quill, biting your lip in thought.
"Are these places you have already searched?" you ask, pointing at the scribbles on the map with your free hand.
"Yes."
"Impressive," you mumble. "These were not discovered on my father's maps. But have you considered the Cromer to be somewhere that has already been explored?" you question.
"I think we would have already caught wind of someone with such a powerful object if it fell into the hands of colonizers and commoners," Hongjoong explains.
"Well, in order for there to be any information on such an artifact, of course it has previously been discovered. Where it has been left is just theory. We could even be dealing with magic that protects it," you suggest.
He raises an eyebrow. "Continue."
"There is legend that suggests where it is. 'Where the horizon meets the waves, the illusion is created. The answer lies here not, but in the stars they reflect. The crescent waxes and wanes, but its mirror does not follow suit."
"We have followed the stars, to no avail." The captain sighs. "And the crescent it speaks of...we thought it was moon lake. We have been there countless times."
"So, the crescent the legend speaks of is not moon lake."
"Yes, but...what do you reckon it be?" He looks up at you through his dark eyelashes.
"The lake does not wax and wane, but you know what else does not? Promise island, off the course of the New World. The land is crescent shaped, and of course, it does not wax or wane," you finish, drawing an 'X' on the map near the coordinates of where you know the island to be. Hongjoong stands up, looking down to where you marked the map and back up at you in shock.
"That...is remarkable. We have yet to venture to that side of the New World." He pushes himself up from the table and stomps out to the deck.
You follow over and press your ear to the now closed door, straining your ears to pick up words like "reroute" and "northeast." Hearing less and less, you wonder what is happening on the other side when someone comes back through the entrance. The door would have hit you, had you not been quick. Your innocent doe eyes do not fail you as you look at Hongjoong and pretend you were never listening. "We have changed course and it should take a few days to reach our destination. Y/N, you may take a rest now." You find yourself not-so thrilled to leave his quarters, the atmosphere almost comforting. The smell of paper and ink made you feel at home.
"Thank you, Captain." You fiddle with your fingers. "Do you have any books that detail your journeys?" you ask.
"Detail them?"
"Yes, I am sure you have come across many interesting things on your travels, have you not?"
"I suppose...no one has ever asked for them." He scans the bookshelf behind him and pulls out a book with a leather spine, handing it over to you. "Here is one. I hope it does not bore you." He smiles.

Here you are, enjoying the view from the crow's nest of ATEEZ's ship. Somehow, the air smells sweeter, despite it being the same. About three days ago, the ship had changed course to head northeast, towards the New World.
You open the captain's book to the page you had left off on and continue reading. So far, you have read through his and his crews' adventure to Wonderland. A sketch of some of the land was drawn by Hongjoong on the next page in black ink that was ever-so smudged. You admire the small picture as you run your fingers over the textured paper.
"Argghh!"
You flinch, startled by the unannounced visitor hanging onto the side of the crow's nest. Jung Wooyoung looks at you with sparkles in his eyes, like a child seeing their favorite toy. "Hey little treasure," he coos, a giggle slipping from his pretty lips. You had learned very quickly that he entertains himself by causing trouble amongst the crew. You set your book down to look at him.
"Hello, Wooyoung."
"What are you doin'? Did Captain force you to read?" he asks, peering at the book in your lap.
"No Wooyoung, I was simply curious about your previous journeys."
"Oh...well...have you read about me?" He grins from ear to ear.
"Yes! You were the one to discover treasure in the Wonderland, were you?" He nods with pride, climbing into the nest to sit next to you.
"What else does it say about me?" he asks excitedly.
"Here." You open the book back up, holding it between the two of you to read together. He scratches the back of his neck, looking at you and back down at the paper.
"I never learned to read," he says.
"Oh." You frown, glancing down at your lap. "I...I can teach you if you want," you offer. His eyes glitter in delight once again.
"Yes! I want to learn!" He squirms around with excitement and quickly leans in to kiss your cheek. You bring your hand up to touch where he had left his thanks, your face warming up.
"Ah, let us start with this word," you smile at him, pointing to the word 'Aurora'. "It seems a bit difficult, but I believe in you. This letter 'A' makes this sound," you explain, demonstrating the different pronunciations that belong to each letter for him. He repeats after you, filled with joy when you praise him for repeating correctly. When you get to the last vowel, you ask him to repeat the whole word by reading it.
"Aurora," he says with confidence. "Those are the pretty lights in the northern sky," he marvels. "Pretty, like you." His compliment makes your heart swell, and you can't help but find him so precious.
"Thank you, Woo."
"Y-"
"Ahoy!" Choi San interrupts, popping up on the side of Wooyoung.
"San!" He exclaims, "Y/N is teaching me to read!" San's eyes light up with similar wonder; they are very alike.
"Y/N, your turn to learn! I want to teach you to shoot!" San says, offering a hand for you to grab on to.
"I suppose that skill could be of use," you reply, taking his hand and climbing over onto the ladder. "Woo, will you join us?"
"I think I'll stay up here. Got to keep a lookout, aye?"
"Alright." You wave and watch him glue his eyes back to the captain's book before you climb down after San.
