Tbhk X MCYT part 1!

So since, as I said when i posted the poll, I already knew who i wanted as Kou and Mistuba so I started working on this around the same time I posted the poll so--

Either way here's flower husbands and MistaKou! Because I realized they had generally the same ship dynamic and thought this would be fun!

Both of these are redraws from the actual TBHK manga! i didn't add any of the text because for the first one I lost what page that was and didn't have the time to go back and for the second one I'd have to change quite a bit of what's said to better fit Scott.

Also I decided to redraw a page for the start of the Mistuba chapters and one from the end, just cause!

I do still plan to go through and get at least one hell of mirrors page and one picture perfect page but I'm going to save those until after I've done at least a few early page redraws for Gem and Pearl and probably one for Grian as Tsukasa!

Happy 95th Birthday to Mickey and Minnie Mouse! - Tribute to sci-fi movies and comics (cosplay) - Star Wars and Star Trek

Unfortunately, sorry for the delay, since I don't have time to do everything myself, but here I am. Since both Mickey and Minnie are celebrating their 95th anniversary and since it's the 100th anniversary of the Disney Studio, I'm going to make it a little bit more of a celebration by drawing tributes to famous movies and also famous artists. By the way, I found inspiration in a drawing by the genius Andrea Freccero. I took inspiration more from Italian comics. Yes, I started with Star Wars, in which Mickey and friends (as well as enemies) play significant roles. I hope you have seen at least the first Star Wars movies as well as the sequels and get familiar with the famous sci-fi genres created by George Lucas and his people. Yes, I drew it my way.

Mickey is Luke Skywalker, Minnie is Mara Jade, Daisy is Princess Leia, Donald is Han Solo, Scrooge is Obi Wan-Kenobi, Huey is the Mandolarian, Dewey is the Ewok (Ewoks), Louie is Master Yoda, Goofy is C-3PO (the golden robot), Gyro is a member of the Imperial Army, Peg-Leg Pete is Darth Vader and Phantom Blot is Emperor Palpatine. And then there's the droid R2-D2. Yes, I prefer the second variant with Scrooge as Darth Vader, but oh well. I hope you like this drawing and this idea and you like characters like this.

The next drawing is related to Star Trek (please people don't get confused with two different sci-fi franchises) and I took it as inspiration not only from the current series and movies, but also from the comics written by Bruno Enna and drawn by Alessandro Perina, Andrea Freccero and Marco Mazzarello. I hope there are some who know about this. However, I drew in my own way in my own style, and this is like a redraw. Mickey is James T. Kirk, Minnie Mouse is Christine Chapel, Goofy is Spock, Ellsworth is Montgomery Scott, Horace is Leonard McCoy, Clarabelle Cow is Uhura and Eega Beeva is Hikaru Sulu. I hope you like this concept and this idea.

I've been doing redesigns of pop culture characters. Mostly working off the idea "What if I was put in charge of making a show around these properties" and the core founding Avengers was one of the first batches I finished

Ironman: Pretty straightforward; I just wanted something that looked armored, but could easily be simplified. I primarily took inspiration from the EMH version and the first couple of suits from the MCU with the intent that this is his Mark IV suit. That way I can easily do more suits and updated for him the future, particularly to flesh out future line-ups. I also threw in some black detailing to not only avoid using Gray (which most other associated Ironman characters heavily use), but to also act as a winking nod to how he took inspiration from one of his hot rods in the movie for that suits colors. My only real issue with how he turned out is some of the proportioning, so if/when I draw him again I'll try to make his shoulder less broad and his feet larger.

Captain America: Cap was pretty easy to a design for too; I leaned more towards his classic look, but tried to make it look like it was made from more modern materials. So instead of wearing chainmail in a simple suit, he has some pretty standard military gear with an armored chest piece and helmet. I also added some tactical pouches since I can see him either keeping a couple supplies on hand for long missions or to have something to slip a McGuffin into. I kind of have the opposite problem with his proportions that I do with Ironman, so when I draw him again (be it this specific design or more updated suits) I'm going to try to make him broader.

Thor: I prefer his more armored look from the mid 2000's-2020's, but wanted to start with a more classic EMH inspired look. Not totally satisfied with his face and might change the colors a bit in places if I redraw this design, but I do like how he turned out for the most part. Obviously I used the classic version as a base, but I made his belt buckle larger and tried to make the symbol on it look more like a cross between a tree (Yggdrasil) and an Eagle. I also turned his armbands/bracelets into fingerless gloves, taking some inspiration from his Ultimate counterpart and added one of those discs on each hand (I'm thinking they could light up when he's using his powers like the ultimate version too). I tried to keep the helmet simple and easy to draw while keeping the wings on them. I might also change some of the blue pattern on his boots to yellow to help them stand out more.

Hulk: Pretty simple, the only real thing I did was try to keep him a saturated green rather than the flushed one he has in the mcu. I have more problems with him compared to how the others came out, but that's mostly because I'm still figuring out how to draw human faces in my style and do exaggerated physiques, both of which are things that I'm going to have to improve through practice and experience. otherwise I think he at least works as a good starting basis for a good hulk design in my style.

Antman: Leaned toward Hank Pym since I hate how we skipped straight to Scott Lang in the MCU. Obviouisly both classic and EMH were the main inspiration for my take, but I did try to add some aspects from the MCU suit with a more enclosed look and proper gauntlets. I also tried to include a spots on both the gauntlets and belt for him to control his size shifting so that it's easier to justify him doing it without having to draw him going through that motion over and over again. I also tried to adjust the red to be a bit more orange-ish to have him stand apart from other very red-centric characters, though I'm not totally satisfied with the results.

The Wasp: I pretty obviously leaned heavily into the EMH version for my take on Janet Van Dyne, but I also tried to keep the enclosed suit idea for her like with Antman, so I threw in some aspects of the MCU design. I like how Wasp size alteration and other abilities are presented as more legit powers compared to Antman having to rely on the suit, but I did try to give them some visual cohesion by reincorporating the techy aspects of the formers suit into Wasp, though it's probably there more to help here store Pym Particles. I also gave her more of a proper undersuit and helmet and made the wings look kinda techy (Though I tried taking some inspiration from the space suit she had in EMH for those). I also tried throwing in some red to homage some of her original color scheme, but mostly limited it to stuff specifically surrounding her Pym tech.

I'm still trying to figure out how I would go about a story for HOW this version of the Avengers would from; though I would like Loki to be more of a final boss sort of deal, so I'd want to hold off on him being a direct threat until later. I could say that a single villain or one of the dedicated villain factions are the cause, but I think that would be too similar to the opening of EMH and Assemble. So maybe having it be so that a couple of notable, but usually unaffiliated, villains for Ironman, Thor, and maybe Antman team up to try to take them out one at a time, but the fight inevitably leaks out into the streets and draws the attention of the others resulting in them properly teaming up to stop the villains.

Do you know Golden boy (1995)? If so, then you know what this is.

In the first episode, the protagonist meets a sexy director of a computer company. She is a tall blonde who wears very revealing clothes and lets herself be called: Madam President. Yes, Madam President. It's probably not hard to guess who she reminded me of…

A redraw of Madam President as Emma, very similar style almost the same, her face is different, she has her signature blue lipstick and one eye is leaving her face, at least the location that an eye normally belongs to… Artistic intent… Yes… Trust me. .. I thought about changing her outfit to one of Emma's official clothes, but the Madam President's model was so much in Emma's style that I decided to keep it and just wash it in the pervolo, so I made it white.

Scott is standing behind her. He is shocked, his mouth hanging open, his wide eyes fortunately hidden behind his indispensable red glasses. Unlike Emma, he has a jacket and a backpack, in which he has everything he needs to survive in the wilderness. The poor guy doesn't know that Emma doesn't need to have it with her because diamonds don't freeze and she can borrow everything from him.

I'm also little referencing the scene from X-men when Emma and Scott were still together. Oh the good times. You know which one I mean, right?

"Don't spend too long on today's drawing, Carime. You've got to get better at time management and also you have two projects to work on. I'll just do a sketch and that's it." then tell me why i went ahead and took way too long on this cleaning up the sketch and redrawing some stuff.

But whatever. Take a Scott Smajor. My original plan was to also include Gem talking but then I told myself to manage my time. man. imagine she's there somewhere inspiring the Scotts, pushing herself off the table with both hands <3

I have been going some thinking... Now that Scott has said he no longer wishes to have his characters drawn suggestively, I might redraw some of my older scott fan art with either ocs or other characters.

This thought came about because I still fucking adore my vampire Scott picture from last year. It's still my phone background even. Just it's no longer allowed so I thought instead of letting it just rot in the back of my gallery to be forgotten I'll just redo it with a new character so I can at least still feel ok using it at my phone back ground.

So.... what do you guys think? Should I redraw some of my other Scott pictures? Would that be alright or should I just let them gather dust in the dark?

Top 5 works I'm proud of: one of my top 5 is currently a wip. The rest:

fire close to the heart (platonic sciles)  I just liked that I finally made a fic where Stiles is saving Scott. (It's messy and I love it.)

Inked (Scott + Lydia, gen)  I look back at it and see i should have done some stuff differently but! Tattoos are so interesting and I wanted platonic scydia feels and I got that. I love them.

A Werewolf Heat (sciles)   this was another experiment with smut. tho I didn't go that deep into it as much as I wanted to and I keep saying I might continue it 😂 and I DO think about that. A lot. Every time I write lol. But honestly I want to do another that is so much better than that one? From my reread, it needs editing. it got way more love in kudos and in comments (in my opinion) than I expected. and I was so proud. I also love when fics talk about heats. Its werewolves! Especially with Scott! Why not take advantage of that. And I tried! 🥰

A Visit (kira pov)  I don't know why but I'm so happy about this one. It was the first time I wrote for kira. Maybe it was the first fic I did research with too (altho I kept it to teen wolf's interpretation of skin walkers mostly). This was a gift for momentofmemory 🧡

2. 4 current WIPS (many may not get posted before new year tho)

A fanart for an existing fic. I may have to redraw kira since she's very close to the frame and I want to center more attention on her too.

A fluffy Getting Together Malira fic

Fic with Rafael. I have two that I'm thinking to combine. This focused a lot on Scott too, so I'm contemplating to save it for Scott appreciation.

Sekret fic. That I hope gets finished before the year ends.

3. Three biggest improvements in writing/art

I'm getting comfortable drawing hands and bodies! (Art) I refused to draw those before.

I think my grammar is getting slightly better. Or at least, I worry about it less. Which is MAJOR for me.

the wips listed above and outside it is showing me that I am capable of indulging more. It's fanfic after all.

4. Top 2 resolutions for blog/writing?

Write more fic that goes out of my comfort zone. (Sciles is awesome and I will still write them a lot, but I want to explore different characters and other ships that I like too. Like Scisaac, Scydia, Jennifer/Kali, Malira, some POLYSHIPS, Lydia centric stuff, etc. Those are examples, and I don't promise anything.)

An art resolution would be to practice lighting and shading some more!

Im gonna skip the last question because that's hard. My favorite is in one of my WIPS.

11. do you listen to anything while drawing?

So someone else did unfortunately ask me this same question, but I can go a little in depth here. It's honestly easy for me to get sucked into whatever is playing in the background, like if it's a song that's high energy then God damn it I'm gonna end up singing alongside it and get swept up in that. So I tend to put on background tracks I do know the lyrics of, but can easily sing to myself without looking up at my TV or getting more into if.

If not music, then I'll have some YouTube on in the background. Right now I've been mainly watching video game reviews and YouTube/Internet Controversy/Drama videos. Some usual suspects for the former would be SomeCallMeJohnny, Scott the Woz, RadicalSoda, or Chariii5. Lately however the drama stuff has been dominating my watch history, given how crazy this last year's been.

15. least favorite thing about drawing?

Hmm probably the shading/lighting process tbh. I've been forcing myself to put more effort into it, but when it comes to art that's the one part I can't visualize in my head. I can do the "imagine an apple in your mind and rotate it" with Mipha and Link, I can roughly get an idea on coloring and the posing, I can imagine my desired framing. But lighting is my greatest struggle.

I like leaning into my cartoony roots and using more thick line art and flatter colors, but it leaves the piece looking unfinished or flat. So the cell shading and lighting is my attempt to give them more depth, to varying levels of success I'd say.

28. whats a piece you would like to redraw at some point?

Besides the one I just did, I've always kinda wanted to go back to the family portrait I did last year. I've had two ideas in my head, but there's a lot of characters so I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on it.

The first was a more formal picture, serving as a royal portrait of the Zora Royal family. This would include Mipha and Link married, a soon to be teenager Sidon, a large Dorephan behind them all, and whatever child or children may have popped up in that time.

The other idea is a more casual scenario, where it's the family out at like a picnic or something. The main difference is this one would include both sides of the family, meaning Link's mother and sister Aryll would be there as well. That would then be at a minimum 3 characters I'd have to roughly design, and I just don't feel like doing that just yet. One day I'll flesh out Link's side of the family (one idea I had is Link's mother holding their child, and someone says "does it bother you she doesn't look like you" or something like that, in which she replies "what do you mean, we look identical" while her and the kid stare at the person), just not today.

3. your favorite piece(s)?

as of now, my most favorite piece, off the top my head, is the greyscale thing i drew of lucia from tmk. i was messing around with brushes i had saved but never really used and the textures came out nice. i like the work i did on that canvas in general, i felt i got a good hold on her character. i tend to be happy with full body colored stuff i do of characters as of recent. most things i crank up the warmness on for a character and then slap a square bg on i tend to be more than satisfied with. same goes with playing around with brushes. fuuta trash and trash was a fun dabble in trying to recreate another style, and la maine de gloire i like for similar reasons. i hold a fondness for my deep cover william wisp redraw and we outta lightbulbs though that may just stem from a lot of attention on a pice that took a lot of effort

17. what is something youre confident about in your art?

uhhhhhhhhhhhhh i suppose my color choices and stylization. i like toning up the warmness + saturation and lowering the brightness of my art for a cozier feel and i like how it turns out. whenever i do contrast checks (literally just turning a piece to black and white to see if my values are good) the results are pretty good. i think most of the reason why im confident in my stylization is i just kinda like how it looks. some amount of the time i just do doodles that are just linework so i feel like ive gotten comfortable in how i translate things and i also tend to work from references. also ive been told my art style is quite unique and i feel that is the root of it

19. where do you find inspiration?

inspiration! this one is fun! at least for some amount of how i do(/did) eyes and how i color i draw from lavendertowne! her art is very cozy and nice looking, its cartoony but you can see anime influences in it. i think that's probably my main one. i also look up to drawing wiff waffles, she was the first artist i ever really became a fan of! whenever i do pick up alcohol markers (not much nowadays) i make sure to use a colored pencil for sketching. she's prolly also the reason i make sure to carry a kneaded eraser for traditional art. i like watching scott christian sava's videos. being an older artist with more life experience makes him sorta feel like the most mentor-y to me. also he's very nice and some amount active here. yunayuispink is who i mainly use for tutorials. their art style is simple but that is not to say its bad! the colors are nice and the linework is nice. i also like marikyuun's art. her use of linewidth and colored lines makes her work very merchandise-esque as she says. i own a couple studio ghibli art books that i should probably be busting out more for references. their films are very pretty. i also like to take bits and bobs from my moots' art styles that i think are cool. for instance, i think the main reason i tend to gravitate toward thin messy lineart is @/not scorb on here. though i think mine tends to lean messier (or maybe moreso them doing it gave me the confidence to post art like that.) i also take influences from other anime/manga, vaguely, often to the point where i just kinda forget the names. there's probably more but this list is very long already so ill stop

24. whats a compliment about your art that has always stuck with you?

hm. im not really sure. it might be from my bad memory in all honesty but i feel like most of the compliments ive gotten recently just tend to be a "great work!" which i dont mind or take for granted but its not really that descriptive, yknow? actually i remembered one. one time i drew different characters from a thing in chairs i thought suited them (lore rise) sitting based upon their character and i remember someone told me i was talented from the way i portrayed my personalities from how they sit. it really stuck for some reason, i dont know why actually. also being told my art is unique when i was asking my sib to describe my art style bcuz i didnt really know how. it just felt nice to know it was really something that felt like mine !
