You were a doormat. You knew it, your friends knew it, everyone knew it. You tried to set boundaries, to say no, but it never seemed to stick. Saying no made you feel guilty, it made you feel like a bad person even though you knew you weren't.

Being a doormat, people tended to walk all over you, requesting ridiculous things of you. That is how it came to be that you were sitting alone in the bullpen, the clock ticking away, showing you that it was around midnight and you still had a whole stack of papers to go through. You felt yourself about to fall asleep, and truly, you were too tired to fight it off when a ding signaled the arrival of someone.

Without even turning to look who it was you knew it was Spencer Reid. You recognized his footsteps, and even if you didn't, the smell he brought with him would have alerted you. It was the smell of coffee mixed sweet undertones, almost as if he had spent his whole day in a café. It was intoxicating. "What are you still doing here?" "Working, I have a lot of stuff to finish before tomorrow" "you mean today" looking back at the clock you could see he was right, it was now officially the next day.

"Do you need some help?" without even waiting for you to decline Spencer took half of the pile you were working on. He moved fast, knowing you well enough to know that you hated asking for help, especially from him, he just could never figure out why.

"Spencer, you really don't need to, I've got this" reaching your hands to take the files back only to be swatted away by the doctor was something you did not expect. "I'm not saying you don't have it, I'm just going to help you so you can go home earlier"

Sighing you admitted defeat and went to go make coffee for the two of you. With Spencer's help you managed to make it through the massive stack of papers on your desk in less that an hour, something you would never have been able to do on your own.

"You, doctor Spencer Reid, are amazing, what can I do to thank you?" it was a slight tease on your part. You didn't expect him to ask you anything return, it wasn't like him, he was too nice . That was one of the things you loved about him, and one of the reasons you willed the crush growing in your heart to shrivel up and die. He deserved so much better than you. Someone with a mind as amazing as his own, someone with kindness rivaling his and someone who knew how to say no. You were none of those. At least not in your own eyes.

"You could go on a date with me" Spencer surprised himself with those words, he really hadn't meant to say them out loud, but he really liked you, and in a moment of confidence inspired by sleep deprevation, he decided to take a chance.

"Really? You mean it?" the both of you were blushing hard at this point, him thinking about how he could have possibly screwed this up and you thinking about how this could possibly get any better.

"I-I mean, only if you want to, you really don't have to feel pressured, I know I said I would take it as paiment, but honestly spending time with you was enough of a payme-" grabbing his face in your hands you turned him to look at you, shutting off his ramblings with the movement and shutting off his brain with your words

Aaron had thought nothing of the fact that the chief of the city they're in had the same last name as you. He's known the guy for years, and when you'd signed onto his team he made a vague connection in his head, but nothing ever became of it. After all, they've met a dozen Morgans in the field, even more Garcias, and even Reid was more common than he'd thought at first.

Plus, he's kinda sorta been mentally referring to you with his own last name for a few weeks now, after you'd pointed out a wedding ring ad in a magazine to him. Said you were 'just looking', but he'd seen the glimmer in your eyes. Bottom line, it takes an effort not to introduce you as Y/N Hotchner to his old friend.

"Chief Y/L/N, this is Agent Y/N Y/L/N," He gestures to you with a soft chuckle, "Maybe you're related."

You give Aaron a funny look, a silly smile on your face, "Uh, yeah, maybe."

"Honey," The chief greets you, and Aaron's polite smile dims as the man reaches out to hug you.

"Dad," You gush beside the man's ear as he squeezes you tight, "It's good to see you again."

"She's my favorite because she doesn't excuse me of picking favorites between my children," Your father elbows you with a good-natured grin, "And because she's less rebellious than you were."

"Rebellious," You scoff, "I was an angel."

"A fallen one," Your dad leans in to stage-whisper to Aaron, "The next time she gives you trouble, just call me and I'll tell you about what she was like when she was younger. Whatever she's done will pale in comparison, I guarantee it."

Aaron is only able to chuckle along to your dad's teasing, internally stunned and struggling to comprehend the situation. When your dad turns to head into his office, you pointedly fall back beside Aaron, turning to face him with an amused grin.

"You seriously didn't know?" You cross your arms over your chest, "It's in my file."

"I must have missed it," Aaron admits, brow creasing in confusion and sudden, epiphanic understanding, "Is that why you always turn my picture of the chief and I to face the wall before we have sex?"

"Yes," You laugh, "Why did you think?"

"I thought you didn't like my shirt or something," Aaron muses, "You know I donated that shirt for you!"

You let out a snort, one that you seem embarrassed by if the way you cover your mouth and let your eyes flutter shut is any indication. You take a moment to breathe, "The shirt was fine. Not the best, but not as unsexy as my dad."

a/n: Im so so sorry love, im one hundred percent sure youll do great, but in the meantime, i hope this will make you feel a little bit better, love you💗💗 (this ask did skip the line bc if i posted it two weeks from now it wouldn't have made any sense)

He didn't know how or when, but all of a sudden, all you did was study.

And at first, he didn't really think anything of it, you'd told him about the exam and about how important it was, so he understood, but what he didn't expect, was just how much you'd be studying.

You raised your head only to answer him, and even when you did, it was monosyllabic.

"Have you eaten anything?"

"no"

"did you drink any water today?"

"not really"

And no matter how many times he'd tell you how bad for you that was, the next time he asked, the answers were always the same. And that's exactly why by the second day, he had stopped asking and instead, started doing.

He had conceived a whole plan of attack.

For the days when he, unfortunately, had to go to work, he left two full water bottles and a glass on your desk, and an already cooked lunch in the fridge, so that all you needed to do was heat it up in the microwave.

But on the days when he didn't have to go to work, he took it upon himself to become your personal assistant, and your worst nightmare altogether.

No matter how much you complained, he forced you to take a break at least every two hours, he made sure you were drinking the water he poured into your glass, he made you coffee every time you asked, (always only after having reminded you that you didn't need more coffee but more sleep) and finally, he cooked or ordered all of your favorite foods in the hopes that it would make you feel more like eating (which never seemed to work).

Today, thankfully, he got to stay home, so for the thousand time, he walked into the studio to check in on you.

"hey there" he smiled, watching you half-heartedly wave at him before returning your full attention to your book "I brought you a snack," he said, placing the apple slices on your desk and making a soft laugh flee your mouth.

He had turned into a soccer mom, but god it felt good to hear you laugh again.

He got behind you to start gently massaging what he was sure must have been sore shoulders.

"how's it going?"

"bad" you grumbled, relaxing the tiniest bit at his touch

"I'm sorry" he murmured, leaning down to kiss the crown of your head "you wanna take a break?"

"It's not been two hours yet"

"I know, but I think it would be good for you" he explained "We could take a walk maybe"

You sighed, closing your eyes "I can't"

"sweetheart" he cooed, crouching down to be at your level and turning your chair towards him "you're gonna burn yourself out if you continue like this"

"I know but..." you glanced back at your notes "I can't fail this exam"

"and you're not gonna" he immediately reassured you

He watched something happen behind your eyes, 

"not if I keep taking breaks"

"baby-" he murmured, taking your hand in his and watching as your mouth curved downwards for the quickest moment 

"I just-I'm so anxious," you said, your voice breaking "I-I can't fail- I just can't"

"hey hey hey" he cooed, his eyes looking for yours "Sweetheart, it's ok"

And that was the moment you couldn't hold it anymore, all the stress and fear you'd been bottling up for days started spilling from your eyes.

"n-no it's not, I-I... I don't even know, I just..." you sobbed, and when you looked at him, he swore he heard his heart break " I feel like shit"

"sugar..." he murmured, wasting no time wrapping his arms around you "I'm so sorry baby," he spoke gently to your ear as his hands stroked your hair and back 

You hid your face in his chest as you cried all you had to cry.

"it's all gonna be alright sweetheart, I promise"

But at that, for some reason, you only started to cry harder.

"ok this is it, hold onto me"

And you had just the time to frown, before he had picked you up and walked out of the room and into the living room.

"w-what are you doing?"

"forcing you to take a break"

"I could have walked" A small smile appeared on your lips, and with it, a small wave of relief washed over Pedro's body.

"You've done enough today" he explained, sitting down on the couch with you, and in less than a moment, your whole body had clung to his.

Your left leg was draped over his, and your head was on his chest, as he held you close with both his arms.

"y/n, you're not gonna fail" he started gently "You're the smartest person I've ever met"

"That's not true" you muttered, your words muffled by his body

"yes it is" he insisted "And baby I promise you, that everything is gonna be alright" he swore, slowly running a hand through your hair "and that no matter what, I'm gonna be here for you, ok?"

It took a moment for you to respond, but after a few beats of silence, a muffled "ok" made its way to Pedro's ears.

"yeah?" he asked, again, encouraging you to meet his gaze.

"yeah" you sniffled, as you finally looked up

Ghost should have known that a class of new recruits would be difficult to teach.

Hell, all of them were male, expect for one person who was a woman. The fact that the class was 99% male didn’t surprise him when the first day of teaching went to complete shit.

No one was listening to his instructions and he didn’t even know how most of these men qualified to even be here, training under him. They were unruly, constantly talking when he was giving instructions and in even some instances, they would mock and roll their eyes at Ghost when his back was turned.

The recruits were just lucky he didn’t see them mocking him, otherwise it would be a completely different story, and all those who participated would be packing their bags to go home.

It was a blow to his ego.

Did they not know what a unique opportunity this was? To be training with a member of the infamous squad 141?

141 was the best in the game, the best team out there to accomplish complex covert mission after mission. No one else had the skill set or the discipline to be as good as they are.

So, why the fuck was the next generation of the organization being such dipshits?

Much not to Ghost’s surprise, the sole recruit that was taking training seriously was the woman recruit.

After the first week, Ghost found himself looking up your file, wanting to know more about his star pupil. He figured you were around the same age as the other recruits, but it turned out that you were around his age, although a few years younger. You also had some field work under your belt. That must be why she seems so much more competent that her peers, Ghost thinks.

Before you were recruited to squad 141, you spent your late teens and early twenties going to a prestigious military school, specializing in military strategy and combat. Afterwards you joined an organization specializing in oversee operations. You also had a special skill in archery and close quarters combat, specifically knife play.

He was impressed to say the least.

He also couldn’t ignore the fact that he thought you were pretty. His teammates teased him relentlessly when they saw him, catching onto his schoolboy crush.

“Hey Ghost, how’s your star pupil?”

“Do you make all the other recruits run more laps than her?”

All of these stupid questions came with a smirk and at least one laugh from another team member. Ghost kept his cool though, he didn’t want to give them any more ammo to hit him with. Somehow these bastards found out I have a crush on her, bloody hell.

He didn’t even think he was being that obvious. However, when sifting through his memories, he realized he did talk about you a lot, especially after a drink or two. But who could blame him? You were at the top of your class, and outshone your pupils so easily. It was hard not to brag about you to 141.

You impressed him further when he spotted you training by yourself, during your precious free time. Typically, new recruits had a rigorous schedule, so any free time granted was special, not the be taken for granted. Most people took naps, drank, or simply lazed around with their friends during this time. However, you continued to amaze him at your dedication to be the best at your job.

He figured out your schedule so sometimes he would find himself trailing behind you (without your knowledge of course), and watch some of your solo training sessions. He wasn’t trying to be creepy, he just wanted to see what you focused on when you trained alone.

The next time he had training with your cohort, he found himself giving you specific pointers based on what he saw during your unaided training sessions.

As astounded he was by you, he never deliberately approached you, never singled you out. Apart from his tips here and there, he treated you like all the other recruits. Although he harbored a burrowing, yet growing crush for you, he didn’t want to make you uncomfortable.

Sooner than later your graduation came. Now you were no longer a measly recruit but a major, you were someone with ranks. You were proud to say the least, and little did you know, your instructor was just as proud, maybe even more so than yourself.

When you were on the way back to your dorms, you noticed Ghost leaning against the door to the hallway. You tried to suppress the warmness that threatened to spread onto your cheeks, so you looked down, hoping he doesn’t notice you.

All throughout your training you tried your best not to make it apparent about the crush you had on Ghost. You really tried your hardest to solely focus on the task at hand; which was, training. Sometimes, to distract yourself even further from him, you would spend your free time alone, training even more. The exercise helped quell your racing heart and aching bones that longed for a certain 6’4 lieutenant.

The enigma behind him was all the more intriguing. You could only see half his face, who wouldn’t be interested to learn more? You were dying to know what he looking like with his balaclava removed. You wondered if he had a mustache, or any facial hair for that matter that was hidden by the mask.

Did he have dimples? A freckle or two on his chin, near his mouth? What did his lips look like? Were they thin, thick? You just had so many questions sparked by your new found crush on him.

You were shocked and a little frazzled when your tactic didn’t work, because right as you’re about to past Ghost, he gingerly places a hand on your bicep, and says your name.

Now that you think about it, this was the first time he called you by your name, all other times he referred to you as Recruit 139.

For a man who’s skilled in killing people, he had such a gentle hold on you, not at all imposing. Your heartbeat picked up and when you glanced up at him, it raced even more.

“Hm? Oh, hi Lieutenant.” You slightly bowed even though his hand was still on you, the warmth sizzling through your shirt and seemingly marking your skin.

Before he could get a word in edge wise, you said hurriedly, “I just want to say thank you for being such a great instructor. You really motivated me to perform my best and try my hardest. So, again thank you.”

You found yourself slightly bowing again. Why do I keep doing that?

Too caught up in your own embarrassment of being around Ghost, you failed to notice the curve of his lips upturn under his balaclava, obviously endeared by you.

He removes his hand from your arm, and says, “No need to thank me, I mean you practically did all the work yourself. You were clearly more driven than your peers, along with all those training sessions you did during your free time-

“Wait what?”

When you look back up at Ghost you see that his eyes have widened. “How do you know I train by myself?”

Ghost lets out a chuckle in the form of a sigh, “I just saw you by accident a few times, wasn’t stalking or anything.” He holds up his hands as if to confirm.

“Ah, is that why you gave me suspiciously specific pointers during training sessions? I thought you were reading my mind!”

This time he grants you a full laugh, “No, no minding reading here.”

He takes a step towards you, and you automatically take a half step back, not used to being so close to the lieutenant.

“Anyways, what I wanted to originally ask you was, do you want to go out for celebratory drinks? You are my star pupil after all. Well, no longer a pupil, but a colleague.”

You tried to hide your awe. Is he really asking me to go get drinks?

You’re about to reject, when you realize that this is your chance and like he said, you are no longer a student of his, but rather a colleague.

You pretend to ponder his request, bringing a finger to rub your chin and grant him a sweet smile. “Hmm, are first rounds on you?”

Though, he sees right through your act.

You hear him cough, as if suppress another laugh, and then he says, “Of course. That would just be rude if it wasn’t, hm?”

Your smile widens, and Ghost thinks he may pass out, “You’re damn right.”

Possibly! Though, given we pretty much watch him do all of his research in Riddler YO, I think he was pretty tunnel vision-ed in on the stuff particularly relating to Renewal. Now there's probably tons of top-down corruption he uncovered that didn't get explicitly gone over, we just didn't get told about it because his crusade At That Point was specifically about Renewal and the GCPD's relation to Falcone. Lots of people think the next movies are gonna set up Court of Owls, and I think it'd be kinda silly to be like "yeah there's a SECRET-SECRET organization not even the Riddler could uncover bc they're just So secret" but honestly if he had strong enough horse blinders on, it is possible he could've missed it. But given his paranoia causes him to follow almost any leads he can, I think he would've at least noted something. But that's all narrative stuff, he could have like, files upon files of topics not even touched on in the film because narratively, they didn't need to mention it, or he could've straight up not cared and been so focused on This specific rabbit hole he didn't see it. CAN'T SAY FOR SURE but I do know his knowledge is going to grow in Arkham.

I ACTUALLY DID A LITTLE DOODLE OF WHAT I WOULD PERSONALLY WANT A FUTURE 22 ED TO LOOK LIKE as we know I'm an Arkham Fiend so I want him to be very tinkery <33 I debate a lot on whether he would keep the mask. I think there's arguments for both, that he would still see his mask as something that allows him to be uninhibited, but I also see an argument for him feeling his mask connects him too heavily to Batman. The Bat wears a cowl, because he's a coward, but the RIDDLER shows his face. He's the TRUTH. So I mess around with both concepts :]

personality wise, like I've said I think he's gonna get Meaner. I think we'll see some more bite and maybe a sort of like - Young Justice Riddler where he's doing his best to express puffery and confident, transitioning into an Arkham Riddler's really deluded ranting and raving at any given moment because he doesn't like to sit with his own thoughts for very long.

3. THIS IS A TOUGH ONE. We don't know a ton about either of them, even with all of the lore we get with Riddler YO we still only have I feel a small sense of the way Edward interacts with others, and especially now that he's clearly going to change very dramatically, it's hard for me to say how I think he'll interact with this specific Joker. This Joker seems younger, bold, energetic, passionate, and SMART. And I think Batman showing him Edward's file gave Joker enough ammunition to either turn Edward into something even more dangerous, or turn him into a tool. OR BOTH. I sense a lot of manipulation on Joker's end, and I think Edward will, like he did with Batman, deeply enjoy the companionship for a time. But I think a moment would come where Joker is revealed to have been "using" him to some degree, and this would spark similar emotions to his perceived relationship with Batman. I think this is what would cause Riddler to realize "Batman is the enemy, these other criminals are Also the Enemy, I - the Riddler - am the only one I can trust or rely on".

4. I certainly HOPE he gets more major parts in the next movies. With how often Arkham is being utilized as a set piece in the Reevesverse, I don't think he's content with throwing his Rogues in Arkham and leaving them to rot away from the plot. Reeves seems to really enjoy his Rogue interpretations and wants them on screen, he WANTS to portray them. He was a huge reason Dano got the Comic made, he really fucked with Paul's dedication to Edward's story and wanted MORE content out there. I don't think we necessarily have to worry about him disappearing - more so, maybe worrying about him becoming something we don't love. BUT with what we've seen of the writing so far in Batman, Riddler YO, and Penguin, I think we're good :]

All the evidence I can find in S2 of Crowley being Raphael (or at least a high-ranking angel) before he Fell:

Crowley not saying his name in return when Aziraphale introduced himself. The script is purposefully hiding the information (Ep1 - 1:08)

Shax saying "The kind of miracle only the mightiest of archangels could've performed" (Ep2 - 8:13)

Muriel saying "You have to be a throne or dominion or above" when talking about how to access Gabriel's files. (Ep6 - 7:34)

This could be them saying Jim/Gabriel took part in performing the miracle, but I don't imagine Jim had complete access to his powers then. And even if he did, it's unlikely he could control them well enough to help with performing a powerful miracle.

Also, Crowley's response "how do you know I didn't do it?" implies he alone has the strength of an Archangel and Shax knows that. Shax would have had no idea of the joint miracle so Crowley's question could only make sense in the context of him being a former Archangel.

From what I understand of angel hierarchy in Christianity, Dominion is the highest rank of the middle order and Thrones are the lowest rank of the highest order and therefore both are very 'high-up' angels in terms of overall ranking. Crowley being able to access the files while saying he was an angel once shows he must've been fairly high ranking.

Other hints that are more of a stretch are:

Crowley saying to Beelzebub that Extreme Sanctions are "something we used to joke about to frighten the cherubs" (Ep1 - 35:40)

Cherubim are the second highest ranking angel of the highest order, making them one of the highest ranking overall. This implies that both Crowley and Beelzebub were ranked above Cherubim before Falling, which makes sense for Beelzebub given their (former?) position as Grand Duke of Hell (and former position as Prince of Hell according to the wiki. [turns out this one isnt a hint but i still think some of the information here's pretty neat so i won't delete it !!]

Crowley talking to Jim about creating gravity says it "seemed like a good idea when we were all talking about it" (Ep3 - 16:52)

"All" here could imply Heaven as a whole discussing it, or he could be referring to a smaller group of angels such as the Archangels

cool yeah obviously i fucking love them. i'm not very good at words though and i tend to keep my more elaborate thoughts to just discussions between friends who know how i tick djsfhdfs

just the other day i was smiling to myself during a walk bc holy shit all three are actually playable now and that's not just wishful thinking anymore. anyway chapter 13 also happened and more stuff with the trio happened and Cool Lots of things Happening and my brain is full

they're so found family to me, like in an utterly unconventional way. i mean c'mon with how they act sometimes like- ykno. but like have y'all seen the new furniture set and descriptions that came with hoederer's release it made me go insanse.

but i think especially in ines' case it just kinda highlights that best. considering ines' arts can figure people out (putting that in rather vague terms), it truly means something when someone with her capabilities and temperament has people she chooses to stick by and actually trust. even if she pretends she doesn't by verbally denying it.

like waugh Okay they have a lot to unpack and shit but with them being reunited (take that, W file that said W needs companionship but her friends aren't around anymore) and having a COMPARATIVELY more ""relaxed"" life than before (that one Hoederer file where he just has rather regular days on rhodes), it's just nice to imagine they can finally have something better and figure stuff out. as complicated as the three of them are.

with that said i think it's a given that i despise a nuclear family treatment of the three (aka mom ines, dad hoederer, daughter w).

for one with me being highly doubtful w was a kid/teen at the start of darknights (young? sure, but not that young), which just seems like such a...widespread belief that i really do not get? arknights always put a LOT of emphasis on when a character's story was about them being a kid, 0 of that with w. like something about her expression and big cloak just gave people some different impression, even though she literally keeps looking the same aside from a change of clothes. only instance of w being called a kid during that time i can think of is that one boiler worker in her files but that seems way more like any typical old guy calling anyone on the younger side a kid. hell, even hoederer was called young in darknights, like in a sarkaz's lifespan i can believe that.

and also...hoederer had somewhat of a mentor-like role for w, but if anyone tries to tell me ines ever acted maternal towards w i will chew through your walls. read through darknights memoir and actually pay attention to ines, both w AND ines were pettyass women and they made that so very clear. cannot fathom how anyone can see ines as having been motherly towards w

seriously just feels like a case of Well there is man and there is woman....and this other character so clearly these are mom, dad and kid.

that's not even me being biased towards w/ines, just how i objectively see it. hell, i even ENJOY ines/hoederer, but my enjoyment of it is limited bc for some reason ppl like to make it weird by shoving w in as some daughter. i promise it's completely possible to like ines/hoederer without trying to fit in w as a kid figure

if you were curious at all about the video essay i was putting together for my comedy-theory class or are interested in hearing about some projects i'm working on, here's the link to watch it:

the video is unlisted bc it was specifically made for a class, and since a lot of the future-projects mentioned will probably go through major changes before i'm ready to release them to the world i didn't want this to seem like any kind of announcement video, but i'm also super proud of this video (it's probably my favorite final i've done) and i wanted to share it with any tumblr friends who are interested

if you'd like to learn more about any of the projects feel free to dm me bc i love infodumping about what i'm working on and the projects i mentioned here are very important to me. also dm me if you're at all curious about the comedy theory i'm citing, unfortunately due to the time limit on the assignment i didn't have enough time to give an in-depth explanation people outside of the class could get, but i LOVE comedy-philosophy and i made sure to download all the readings by the end of the course, so i would absolutely be willing to send over some PDFs and do some comedy analysis education lmao

also the first thirteen-and-a-half minutes are the video i turned in as my final, and the last six-and-a-half minutes are my in-class presentation that went along with it. for this assignment we had to construct a "comedy manifesto" using some of the theorists we covered in class to analyze our own comedy and outline goals for what we want our comedy to accomplish, and then for the in-class presentation we had the option of either presenting an abridged version of what we said in our "manifesto" or performing a piece of our own comedy that aligns with our goals. i of course did the second one bc i will never waste a captive audience.

tbh i don't think this was my best performance but i will say i literally memorized it in 24 hours so the fact that i only messed up twice is still impressive (also the lack of audience response is at least partially bc this was the last week of classes so most people who didn't have to present just skipped class)

presentations were also optional and i was the only one who did a piece fully in-character so that also gives you the vibe of the room

btw every piece of music in the video essay (aside from "having an average weekend" by shadowy men on a shadowy planet aka the kith theme) was composed by me for my musical other girls (who needs royalty-free music when you still have the demo files from your musical in fall 2022)

also there was no requirement on this assignment to interview a comedian, i just decided to zoom with paul bellini the week this was first assigned as a flex for my video essay lmao. so anyway watch this video if you want never-before-heard bellini content (at least 20% of which is just bellini complimenting my writing)

do you mind if i ask how you rip guilty gear animations? ive been wanting to get into ripping however there are very limited resources and few accounts are active that still rip. advice is very appreciated, thank you:)

just realized how stupid long this got right before posting so . cut

the way i do it for strive is, via unverum just for ease of use bc you can flip mod on/off at will before opening the game, get the mods that change the background of ajatar hunting ground to black/green/blue (i think it's by ultima?) and use the color of your choice (usually i use blue because black can screw with the outlines and green can cause weird lighting issues. blue can as well but it seems the least invasive of all of them to me, you can only really notice on stuff like zato bc eddie comes out sorta bluish bc he's translucent. there may be mods to help with that kind of thing but i havent looked)

pick whatever characters you want and go to training mode (unless you need something specific, like win/lose poses, of course. if it has to be during a fight you can just go to local vs with a controller and make the other character your keyboard so you dont actually have to fight) and record with OBS. pick whatever settings you think look best graphically both in strive and on OBS, idk if i can advise with those choices too well bc my hardware is beefy enough to handle max settings for stuff, ymmv

after recording, go to photoshop (doesnt matter what version, mine is ancient and ill gotten gains ive had for years. find your means. use something similar. idk) just drag the video in (no need to import it any special way) and literally just. go frame by frame copying the stuff from the animation you want into a new file and after you have all the frames go and erase it by hand. i usually use the magic eraser thing on around 50 tolerance (may need to be adjusted at times) and with anti aliasing (just cause i like the outlines not to be smooth, that also can make the "sprites" transparent and have an ugly white outline around it in gifs, do whatever you think looks good) and contiguous unchecked (contiguous just so that you dont have to go around clicking every blue/green/black spot individually, as that takes much longer. sometimes this cant be avoided, like if your character has colors too close to the background or an effect you want to keep is too close to the background color youre erasing)

additional mods i use at times are ones that turn certain characters im not focusing on invisible (like chipp or i-no, cant remember who made that one) just so i dont have to worry about cropping around another character if they do an idle animation or something, and theres one that disables lighting effects (like gio's glowies when she has full meter, or certain moves like baiken's dust or tsurane sanzu watashi) so that the gifs look nicer devoid of the like... engine based context. of that makes sense

as for XRD, i used to use a cheat table camera mod for rev that was kinda adapted from the one for sign, but since the rollback update it looks like its broken and i dont think anyone has cared much to fix it, but also havent had the time to mess around with it myself. the sign one might still work? theres a reddit thread with it out there somewhere still i think. be warned re: sign tho bc the models are kinda janky and lower quality, which probably isnt noticeable to most people but its definitely glaring to me when i moved from sign to rev. they did some major improvements on like everyone in rev

last but not least, a word of caution regarding certain things. i'd warn against trying to do any overdrives or anything that has a superflash (when the camera focuses on the character using a move, usually, like jack-o's forever elysion driver) or the strive pre move cutscene things (like baiken's tsurane sanzu watashi) as well as intro/outro cutscenes, since making them transparent not only will be a pain in the ass but probably would look weird due to the camera movement + lack of background. same goes for stuff like bursts or walk/run cycles where the character moves significantly and the camera angle might change, since not only will it be a bitch to line up correctly so it loops properly, but if the character's location or the camera angle changes it might end up looking off because the model is being viewed from a slightly different angle. not sure how obvious that would be to someone who didnt Do it but ive learned that through trial and error. might also just be perfectionism on my part. id usually get around this on xrd with the cheat table bc you could lock the model in place (but it would still move technically, which was nice if you didnt want effects like the little dust clouds when you dash getting in the way) but ive never seen anything similar for strive. from what i know it should be possible for sure, just slightly tricky to some extent and i dont really know how one would go about doing that or have the time to learn. the console for UE is locked in strive and idk if theres a way to unlock it, but that would potentially be a way to freeze models in place quick and dirty if necessary. there ARE a few camera mods out there for strive, but any model freezing aspects are just like.. full game pause, not frozen in place.

No bc your post about season 3’s writing is so true. I kinda hope in s4 we see Hughie and Annie at least like… actively communicate and work through some of their issues in a healthy(ish) way? Because they kinda just brushed it under the rug and everyone seemed to forgive him for the murder spree at the end of the season because he “did the right thing in the end”

its just. it seems like communication is only necessary when the plot wants to use it to pit them against each other. and since this season they wanted to frame hughie as being in the wrong he has to communicate or it's a betrayal, but annie doesn't, and it's never adressed

i love them so much and want them to be healthy and happy but the writers have GOT to stop with this whole double standard thing they started this season in which hughie is in the wrong for everything but annie and kimiko aren't for doing the exact same things. just. let my boy off the hook. let them all be batshit insane morally grey murderers without randomly blaming only one of them for it. please.

i don't mind them forgiving him for the murder spree personally because i don't necessarily think they should've held it against him that much in the first place (despite what the way the show framed it, homelander WAS the priority. they framed it as hughie and butcher being irrational and excessive for working w sb when they were objectively & strategically right

just. mm and annie being pissed at them for working with sb to stop homelander makes about as much sense as. like. if hughie and annie in s2 absolutely refused to accept a-train's help to stop stormfront bc of what he did to robin. that would've been counterproductive, not to mention incredibly fucking stupid, bc stormfront was obviously more powerful, and a much, MUCH bigger threat, + those files were the one way to destroy her. here it's the same. homelander is becoming a bigger threat by the second and sb seemed like the one thing that could stop him. working with him long enough to stop homelander is just prioritizing issues. its just. god. that whole thing is so fucking stupid.

and the temp v?? the fucking. the way they framed the temp v as such an evil thing from the get go and actively punished hughie and butcher for using it when it also. works??? like they obviously had to add in the fact that its killing them to make it actually wrong to use it but like. they didn't know that. and before they knew about it it genuinely just works. within a few days of using it they came closer to destroying vought and killing homelander than they had after almost a decade of trying like. someone said this before but they could've just as well framed it as hughie and butcher selflessly sacrificing themselves with the temp v in a noble attempt to destroy homelander for the greater good and it would've also worked. the forced morals in this whole season were all over the place.

the one thing hughie could've more successfully been framed as being in the wrong for doing imo is the whole not communicating with annie mm etc thing, but like we said, if this only applies to hughie and nobody else gets blamed for not communicating then it just! it doesnt work! it doesnt!!

the whole show is built on insane not so morally good people doing insane not so morally good things. the boys were never supposed to be morally pure good guys. they've done terrible things and the only one ever bothered by it was hughie. why are we suddenly imagining this moral high ground that was never there in s1 or s2 it's just.

annie didn't care about what hughie did with the boys in s2 she was just upset that he didn't tell her and hid stuff from her, which WORKED in s2 because annie DID tell him about what she was up to, the communication was one-sided which is why she was upset sometimes, which is not the case in s3!!! and butcher, i mean, the others might've tried to stop him from doing terrible things sometimes but they didn't expect him not to do them. they didn't hold a grudge. butcher was always extremely clear about his intentions. and annie's no saint either she blackmailed gecko she killed a man it's what makes her fun too she's a murderer they're all murderers but her argument not to work w sb is that he's a murderer i just DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY WERE THINKING WHEN THEY WROTE THIS SEASON. sorry i got carried away. i have. lots of thoughts)

What do you think Artem’s parents think about Neil’s disappearance? Neil is a family friend, and Artem was left in his care decently often as a kid, so they must be pretty close. Have they chalked it up to him going undercover like his big data lab entry mentions him doing in the past? Have they investigated a little on their own before giving up and deciding to hope he’s okay? We’ve seen Marius’s dad addressing Giann’s disappearance, but Artem is the only one who has expressed worry for Neil in-game.

Heyo nonnie! This was an exciting question to think about bc, on the one hand, she doesn't have to know at all. Neil could've filed for leave and Kim would've thought that Neil is taking a sabbatical or something. On the other hand, Neil could've told her everything and she's like, a satellite agent? to the NXX. But I think the truth is a bit of a combination of the two.

I’m gonna go ahead and say yes, she knows about Neil being missing but only to a certain degree. I think she’s aware he’s missing, kind of like how Austin knows Giann is missing, but not why. When we look at the Big Data entry for Kim, we see this.

And for Neil’s, we see this.

Essentially, Kimberly is Neil’s boss. The dean of a college has to work closely with professors and students as well as keep tabs on what’s happening in the college. Neil would’ve had to report to Kim if any problems should arise with students or himself, so it solidifies that she’s his boss.

Given how abrupt Neil’s disappearance was, I don’t think he had time to go to Kim and schedule a leave. Hell, do we even know if he was actively teaching at the time? If he would’ve gone without a trace, I think Kim would’ve been the first one to notice. She would’ve had to plan a replacement for Neil. After all, who would finish teaching his course?

But he also has a tendency to just disappear undercover, so I don’t think it raised too many red flags at first. The longer Neil is gone, the longer the people around him (Namely Kim and Artem) start to notice.

I don’t think Kimberly knows what is going on with the NXX. From what I’ve gathered (and from trying to make a timeline, it's going…) the NXX existed before October 2029, enough to get the attention of Tyson and order hits on both of the senior NXX members. Artem had a full year of being in the NXX before mentioning that Neil was missing to MC.

We also know that Kim cares enough to look for people she values (MC’s accident in Artem’s Ch. 4), so Kim might actually be independently looking for Neil as well, like Austin. I think that Kim doesn’t know about the NXX investigations, only that it’s something big. I mean, if Neil kept Artem in the dark before having him join, of course he was going to keep it a secret from his boss and friend. As you said, they have to be pretty close for Kim to leave Artem in Neil’s care, but I don’t think that he’d tell her regardless. Take Giann’s fiance, for example. She has no idea what the NXX is or what they’re up to, but she knows Giann is missing (and is possibly aiding Austin in looking for him). It seems that the people in the NXX avoid telling others about its existence until truly necessary, so maybe they’re searching independently.

What I think solidifies this point is that Artem explicitly states that Neil has no family. Whatever connections he made, he would cherish them. We know he was there for Artem as a child (albeit a bit spotty seeing as he did prioritize his work) and that Artem was left in the dark until he was recruited. I think Neil would’ve kept quiet to protect his found family.

Quite frankly, I think the only reason Artem got recruited in the first place is because he figured out that Neil was in some Deep Shit. And it makes sense timeline-wise. We know the NXX was shaken up (at least on Neil’s side, seeing as Vyn would’ve told him he didn’t have what it took to go undercover) and Artem would’ve known something was up with that, you know? Enough to introduce Artem to the NXX (and possibly skew the numbers in his favor)So no, I don’t think that Kimberly knows why Neil is missing, only that he is and that she’s looking for him independently.

Edit: pt 2/explanation ramblings

It started upon the formation of the 141. After Laswell filed everything they needed and they were all sent out on their first mission together...

It all went to shit.

How he'd fucked up this bad, he wasn't sure but at the end of it all one thing was crystal clear. He was the only one left standing.

Kyle went down first, almost as soon as they had touched down. The enemy had been expecting them, and as soon as the 141 made it into enemy airspace, they were under heavy fire. They bailed from the heli a bit early, and Price thought that that would be that. Just a terrible start to a tough mission.

His ears were ringing now. Sure, that was sort of standard when in the field, but this felt a bit excessive. It was hellishly hot as well, almost like he was actually on fire. Everything was dark, which was odd considering that this wasn’t a nighttime op. Actually, what the fuck was going on?

"Captain!"

And he was up and moving again, being pulled along by...Soap? His vision was still clearing up as he trudged along besides his Sargent. His limbs felt heavy and he was tired. Soap was speaking to him but there was no way he was making out a single word.

It took a few minutes, but Price was able to see and hear and focus properly.

"...Heli was shot down behind us..."

Price did a head count.

One.

Two.

...

Two.

Two?

He looked behind them at the flaming wreckage and then back between Ghost and Soap who immediately seemed to understand who he was looking for. Soap simply frowned and shook his head while Ghost looked straight ahead of him, focused on the task at hand.

No.

No.

No.

This wasn't happening!

This had just started, he couldn’t have already lost one. Not Kyle. Not now. (Not ever if he could help it but that's far more of an unrealistic hope.)

He had to keep on going, though. He still had two left to take care of.

Ghost was next. He took a bullet to the neck for Soap. All Price could do was watch. He wasn't close enough, couldn't pull the two behind cover just in time. He heard it before he saw. Soap's screaming and crying as soon as it happened. Once Price made his way over to where the two were hiding he saw the damage.

"We're all gonna fucking die here!"

They were, weren't they?

After a few minutes, he was able to pry Soap off Ghost's body and the two were moving on.

One.

...

One.

To Soap's credit he nearly made it. They were so close to actually getting out of there that for a brief second Price really believed he'd at least nit failed Soap. But as fate would have it , (that conniving bitch) he went down just like the others.

Soap had been clearing out the last room in the building while Price rummaged around a derelict office for the information that they had come here for when he heard it. Yelling first and then glass shattering. Price ran as fast as he could but when he got to the room Soap had been clearing, it was empty. The window closest to him broken open and upon looking out it he saw two bodies lying limp on the ground.

Seven stories below.

Price finally took a second to let everything sink in.

Fuck.

Zero.

He'd lost all of them.

All of his boys on their first mission together.

Gone.

How did this happen?

How did he fuck this up so bad?

They're all dead because of him!

Fucking hell John, you're a right screw up!

He grabbed onto the ledge of the window, shards of glass digging into his hands, and he shut his eyes tight.

This can't be happening. This can't be!

...

"John?"

His eyes snapped open at the sound of Kate's unmodulated voice.

His hands weren't full of broken glass.

"Are you alright? Kinda zoned out there for a second." Kate hummed as she handed a few files over to him.

Just peachy.

Price opened the file before promptly slamming it shut.

"We need a better plan."

Introductory bit to an idea I had where Price gets a sort of Groundhog Day time traveling ability thing where whenever one of his boys die, he gets a re-do of those events. Very emotionally damaging to the resident father of the 141, but also very convenient. Like come on it's a bit excessive how many NDEs these bitches live through. I have several more blurbs and ideas ab this that I will eventually write, but this is all i got 4 now bc this was spur of the moment and I'm eepy asf.

BECAUSE LIKE the gang was found by Jack Wednesday at the arcade right they have no clue they live at the dump, the government doesn't anyway, they wouldn't really, I guess know or care to send somebody? ok I'm just saying maybe Green was asking for some favors

OHH…INTERESTING I HADN’T THOUGHT OF THAT

Yeah they have no government papers or documentation or anything like that aside from whatever would be leftover & outdated in the foster system files (prob buried in a drawer that hasn’t been touched in 4 years)… EXCEPT for police reports & arrest records. They wrack up a LOT of those. And probably in Wednesday’s case he had new papers made up for them so they could attend school, although I imagine a lot of basic info is missing due to no one having any of their papers on them.

Assuming Mr Green lives in Townsville/relatively close by, I wonder if the first time he heard of/saw Ace would have been on a local news report. They’ve been mentioned on the news in canon at least once for some kind of crime they did WITH their picture shown. Imagine you’re Mr Green sitting down to eat dinner, watching the 6:00 news, gettin all cozy. All of a sudden this kid who looks JUST like you & your ex, who’s the same age your missing kid would be, flashes on the screen because he got arrested for tipping porta potties. Imagine the rollercoaster of “Holy fuck he looks just like my kid….holy fuck that HAS TO BE MY KID! holy fuck my kid is in a GANG? holy fuck my kid is…doing stupid shit oh my god I need to find him” 😭 Being a substitute teacher I’d assume he’d have Wednesday on speed dial (perhaps even for this exact moment) and immediately be like “WEDNESDAY GO FIND THOSE KIDS ONE OF THEM IS MINE. ENROLL THEM I’LL BE THERE ASAP”. Wednesday manages to get info from the cops to Mr Green and is like…I’ll do my best but first you’ll need to sit down for this one bud.

The gang gets in and out of trouble all the time; the trouble is annoying enough for them to wind up in jail but nonviolent enough for the govt to be like “meh whatever let the girls deal with em if they think they need to. we gotta worry more about mojo or HIM etc”. So ur right they don’t seem to seek the gang out and the gang sure as hell keeps their location off the radar just in case

They’re a Very slippery bunch who are difficult to catch and keep in one place for long. The second they’re released from jail they take off. When that old lady Bought Them Bound In Rope they somehow (thankfully) got the hell outta there. And as we know at the end of Schoolhouse Rocked, Wednesday takes the gang away but he’s never seen again & the gang is back to their regular activities in the rest of the episodes 😞 Wednesday prob tried his best to keep them wrangled for Mr Green but I can assume they did their usual & escaped without a trace before Mr Green could meet them. He’s prob crushed bc not only is it like losing his kid all over again, but now he knows there’s a strong chance that his kid IS a horridly suffering teenager with a track record, and he has no way to help him. He has no idea how to find Ace but also feels a lot of anxiety about facing him, because he blames himself for Ace’s suffering :(

I had a dream they remade Jigsaw but with Amanda, do you think that would've made the movie better?

OOO omg i’m inclined to say yes bc i love amanda but do you mean like amanda instead of john? or amanda instead of logan? or amanda in the trap again 😳

personally i’d love to see more of amanda working w john but also i already do like jigsaw quite a bit 😔 i know it’s unpopular in the saw fandom but i do actually really like spiral and jigsaw hahaha

i do think a nice addition would’ve been stuff that ties it into the main series more though. so since jigsaw was meant to take place before all the murders maybe an amanda appearance at the end would’ve been nice? they already had a flashback of logan and john making the first reverse bear trap together, so maybe it would’ve been fun to see john giving logan a file of pictures of amanda, or pointing her out at the clinic. or a more in depth scene of her talking to one of them!

there’s a deleted scene from the first saw where amanda and adam meet in the stairway of his apartment and have a short interaction, but it adds SOOO much. cause then you wonder what amanda thought of adam. did it change her mind to interact with a future victim? was that moment of kindness something that motivated her “mercy” killing him saw 3?

maybe it would’ve been nice to see logan interacting with amanda since he helped prepare her trap. cause to recreate the kind of elaborate game that he did in jigsaw i would think he at least had experience pulling off One trap with john before he did this whole thing on his own. and also it’s gotta come with a lot of emotions when you’re like, putting someone in a death trap especially if he’s only had very little experience.

he seems very unaffected by the deaths he’s caused at the end of jigsaw, but how did he feel after his first one ten years ago? trapping a young lady who was being taken advantage of by a corrupt police officer, just like the people that ended up on his autopsy table bc of halloran? his whole thing about “speaking for the dead” was because halloran let murderers and rapists free, and which resulted in the needless deaths of even more people. did he know detective matthew framed amanda? and if he did, would he think she still deserved to be tested? or was he completely disconnected from the victims? did he just make devices for john with little to no thought behind who they’d be inflicted on?

BUT this is interesting i wanna hear other peoples opinions on it !!
