Arphene's Magic System

OKK so I feel like before I post the post about Throdia (and go to bed), it's worth talking about Arphene's magic system and how it works and all bc it's also a major part of worldbuilding (we'll get to the fun part soon dw baddies)

Enter my google docs notes

Because of how magic came into the world, how the magic system works is heavily connected to Ophelia’s godly power, especially now to the two moons. The true power of your magic depends on what stage of the lunar phase the two moons were on when you were born.

For example…

After Ophelia’s exile, to put the world into balance again, Aurelia implemented a few changes with magic around the world. One change involved the abilities for those born under full moons. Now, to truly be able to use your ability (and maybe also magic), there was a specific energy required. Some requirements are nearly harmless, while some could change you entirely. It depends on how Aurelia values the ability.

However, with all these rules and special abilities, what is the kind of magic that’s used in Arphene exactly?

Magic derives its energy to work from a source of the wielder’s choosing. It can range from electricity to paper, as long as the source isn’t a living material. Depending on which moon you were born under, and how much time you spend on developing your magic, there’s a variety of ways in which your magic can be used.

OC Revamp of Petra :33 + Chevaliers Info

Haven't posted about her before but here's a page I made in my sketchbook for an old genshin oc I reworked + rewrote to fit my worldbuilding.

This is Petra! She's a 20 y/o ish newly recuited Chevalier (I'll explain a lil more below) who I'm currently rewriting, she used to be a fatui nurse oc but yeah DRASTICALLY changed that. She used to work at Enola's shop Winthrop, and occasionally visits to say hello when she's on duty. I also like to imagine she gets along well w Harriet bc common interest in crime and former co workers.

Backstory WIP

Many people have a specific point in time where they remember their life changing. For Petra, it was when her mother died after a lengthy battle with tuberculosis. Her father, Amoux Pankhurst, was the doctor; he'd vowed to save his wife, but after being unable to keep that promise, he sank into a deep depression, becoming a shell of a man he once was. Not wanting his daughter to see him in such a state, with her only being at the mere age of 8, Amoux decided to send her off to live with his mother for a while in Creten while made his efforts to get his act together.

Petra had never met her grandmother before. She had heard of the tales of Nathalie Pankhurst, the renowned huntswoman, but this was her first time actually meeting her. Her father and grandmother had a complicated relationship, to say the least, due to their conflicting ideals. Yet, Petra went on to form a strong bond with both of them.

Misc fun facts: She keeps a personal journal, enjoys the music of The Swans and I like to think that her voiceclaim is Ashley Graham from the RE4 remake.

Also I think this woman is prolly a BEAST at pull ups.

Chevaliers

"Able as the raven, stiff as the stone."

Basically the police in Throdia. Split into two divisions:

Chevalerie Division

The branch of Chevaliers that safeguard around the main cities (eg. Throdia City). Most associated with the Cornerstone Committee. Weapon of choice is gunfire (Historically tho they used to use rapiers until like 497 years ago).

Directe Division

The branch of Chevaliers more situated around mines. Less associated with the Cornerstone Committee due to less communication, and more with the Archambeau family itself. Brute force is more utilized by them in the mines, so their weapon of choice tends to be miner’s gauntlets.

I've only made the Chevalerie Division's uniform design + logo so far... (guess who got lazy!)

Andd yeah that's all for now, tysm for making it this far! Might make a Throdia post in the near future bc that's the only REALLY worldbuilt kingdom of mine so far.
