Oh it was sooo long ago. Pre OOTP, pretty sure it was in the eternal summer. It was on AstronomyTower I think? It was a very cute Jily story about their first date to Hogsmeade. James bought Lily a green sugar quill. That all I remember 🫣

Astronomy Tower: The Astronomy Tower is located at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Classes are taught by a British witch named Aurora Sinistra. It is known for being the largest tower at Hogwarts. Classes are characteristically held at midnight every Wednesday, when the stars are easier to observe. Additionally, this tower is only for classes, and is out of bounds for most students. To get to this tower, a student must pass through the Astronomy Corridor. The Astronomy Corridor is a passageway that is situated under the Astronomy Tower. You will have to walk up a long spiral staircase to get to the top of the tower. A major event that has occurred here includes, The Battle of Astronomy Tower, which occurred during the Second Wizarding War on June 30th, 1997.

Galileo’s to the Half-Blood Prince

-Harry’s 2nd nemesis, Drac O’Mallie has been chosen by Voldie to assassinate Headmaster Thunderdome. -Snape makes a Pinkie Promise of Death, swearing that he will carry out the plan, should Drac fail. -Harry and Thunderdome meet Professor Sluggings who has been disguised as an armchair for years. Turns out he’s gonna be the new DADA teacher, which is a surprise since Sluggings doesn’t know which way is up most days. -Back at Hogwarts, Drac makes several attempts to kill Thunderdome, including sending him a turquoise necklace that infects the wearer with demons.

-Harry stumbles upon yet another cursed book, a used potions textbook that used to belong to some bored child who called himself the “Half-Blood Prince.” ‘

-Ron finally excels at something… Quidditch. -Harry gets into a rumble with Drac in the boys’ bathroom. He uses a Stabby Death spell on Drac that nearly makes him bleed to death.

-Harry and Thunderdome use Prof. Sluggings as a pawn in their plan to learn about Voldie’s demented past and figure out why he’s so screwed up.Turns out Voldie has created 7 horcruxes- objects that hold a piece of one’s soul. They learn that a horcrux is made by killing another living being, which just so happens to be Voldie’s favorite pastime.

-Senora Lunatic and her werewolf buddy set the Weasley house on fire because its Tuesday.

-Harry and Thunderdome leave the safety of Hogwarts to try and retrieve one of Voldie’s horcruxes, which had been carefully hidden in a godforsaken cave  in the middle of nowhere. -In order to obtain the horcrux, Dumbledore drinks a Potion of Misery that causes excruciating pain and makes you relive your worst memories and fears. -After finding the horcrux, Harry and Thunderdome battle an army of swamp zombies.

-They arrive safely at school only for Snape to turn around and kill Thunderdome with the curse of death right in front of Harry. Oh and apparently he’s the Half-Blood Prince...

sometimes i think about being 12/13/14 and discovering fanfiction and just being in awe that ppl could be so creative. the first fics i ever read were dramione and drinny fics on schnoogle and astronomytower lmao (does anyone even remember those sites??) and just admiring from afar for so long, wondering if i’d ever be able to create something even remotely similar to anything i had read at that point.

and then daydreaming and finally deciding to put pen to paper and just write something in notebook after notebook when i was 16/17. and then getting so annoyed by how terrible it was that i’d rip it out and throw it in the trash lmao. and then moving to word docs after that. 

and all through that, going through different stages of life...from high school to heartbreak to college to grad school... and navigating platform to platform. the first thing i ever posted was on ff.net in 2010 or 2011, when i was 17 about to turn 18. (tell me how there was a comment on that story in 2018, after i had long forgotten about the story itself like wow). ANYWAY the point that im trying to make is that now it’s 2020. i didnt start actively posting anything until 2018 but i had still been writing the entire time (my computer crashed twice so i lost everything LOL but it was all trash anyway and now i use google docs). 

now it’s almost the end of 2020 and i am so glad that i took that leap to post the stuff i was writing. despite the many changes that life brings, i just think that fanfiction is one of the few consistent things... and i am always amazed that people even read what i put out there. i am always amazed receiving a comment/nice feedback about what i write. there is nothing that compares to when someone says they like your story, or when someone takes the time out of their day to leave a comment on it. 

i always dreamed of wholeheartedly calling myself a writer, ever since i was eight or nine. and it just hit me recently that i am a writer. i just think 9 year old me would think that’s really neat.
