A/N: Just a really short, dumb drabble I thought of while visiting my local farmer's market yesterday. Unedited and rushed for Halloween :,)

“Trick or treat!”

Katsuki watches on silently as a group of young children cheers at you, holding out neon orange bags expectantly. You smile at them, brilliant and full of childlike joy as you distribute fun-sized candy bars to various superheroes, astronauts, and princesses. A pair of antennae atop your own head jiggle with the movement along with the small holographic bee wings strapped to your back.

Between complimenting a miniature All Might, you briefly look up, catching Katsuki’s eye. A corner of your lips quirks up slightly in amusement and he immediately turns away, determined to focus his attention on anything that isn’t the smug bumblebee across the street.

“Are you fuckin’ done yet, Deku? They’re just cookies,” Katsuki barks.

Izuku hums non-committedly. His gaze continues to rove the display of delicately decorated sugar cookies before him leisurely, wholly immune to Katsuki’s temper.

“Yeah, I’m ready to move on,” the green-haired man finally announces, thanking the elderly vendor with a broad grin before stepping back and heading to the next stall. Katsuki follows, obediently but not without a scowl as he shuffles between throngs of families and young children, all dressed in a variety of costumes. Lining each side of the street are rows of stalls, each a small business selling numerous handmade goods or art pieces. Izuku seems to be feeling particularly sympathetic to Katsuki’s short patience, as he passes by several stalls without stopping as he usually does. Despite the market being open every Sunday morning, Izuku makes it a point to visit each one, admiring each product for sale regardless of the quality and offering friendly conversation and compliments to each vendor. He is on a first-name basis with every regular and is regularly invited to family dinners by several elderly ladies selling bracelets and fresh-baked pies. Naturally, he tends to end each night with almost more freebies and gifts than he can carry, regardless of how much he insists on “paying like everyone else.”

“I don’t know why you keep draggin’ me here—nothing ever changes, they sell the same shit every week,” Katsuki mumbles, not unlike a petulant child.

Izuku seems undeterred.

“It’s nice to support small business owners. As heroes, we should protect every aspect of the community—”

Katsuki nearly rolls his eyes.

“Besides, mom asked me to pick up some soap today. Then we can leave, I swear.”

Katsuki nearly rips over his own feet at the mention of soap. There’s only one vendor who sells soap at the market—

“Heya, Deku,” your voice greets gently.

Izuku beams in response, returning the greeting with double the enthusiasm. Katsuki freezes instinctively at the sound of your voice, suddenly and inexplicably on edge as he always seems to feel in your presence. When your eyes shift from Izuku’s to his own, his stomach flips in a way that isn’t entirely unpleasant.

“Dynamight,” you greet, tone teasing.

Katsuki offers his default scowl and grunts in response, pointedly ignoring the butterflies in his gut.

Izuku looks between the two of you knowingly before quickly picking up the bar of homemade honey-based soap he came for. You ring him up quickly, engaging in pleasant conversation all the while. Katsuki attempts to make himself look busy throughout the process, picking up random products and pretending to inspect them despite not being able to focus on a single word—not when you’re standing less than a meter away, chattering happily to his best friend (whether he admits it or not).

The transaction ends soon enough but as Izuku is putting away his change he is approached by a wide-eyed child dressed up as the number one hero himself—an apparent fan. While Izuku appeases the child, your attention shifts to Katsuki, much to his dismay.

“Anything I could interest you in?” you ask.

He scoffs.

“As if I’d want any of this useless shit.”

Katsuki internally cringes, feeling an uncharacteristic pang of guilt as he wonders if he went too far—but if you’re offended, you don’t make it known. If anything, your smile turns smug, pretty lips curving into a smirk as you eye him in a way that would make him squirm if he were a lesser man.

“Are you sure? I have some new bath bombs I think you’d enjoy.”

You pick up a shimmering gold ball to emphasize your point.

“I don’t need any of that crap. It’s just soap,” he grunts.

Neither of you notices how Izuku has long since left, leaving you two in your own little world in the middle of the market.

“On the contrary, my products are made with only the highest quality ingredients—”

Katsuki scoffs.

“—in fact,”

You take a step forward, breaching Katsuki’s personal space and sending his heart into a frenzy as you hold out your hand in front of him expectantly. Without thinking, he obediently places his own much larger palm in yours, ignoring the spark of electricity it shoots through his veins.

“I think my goat milk and honey blend would work wonders on your callouses,” you murmur, grabbing a small vial from the table behind you and applying a small amount of creme to his rough hands. You gently massage the lotion into his hand while he stares down at you, breath caught in his throat.

“The valerian root is good for managing overactive sweat glands—your quirk makes your hands really clammy, right?”

After a few moments—Katsuki can’t decide if it was too long or too short—you pull away, smiling up at him in your ridiculous bee costume as if your mere existence isn’t already enough to nearly send him into cardiac arrest—

He clears his throat noisily.

“One.”

You blink, tilting your head in slight confusion.

“I’ll take one of yer stupid lotions,” he clarifies, angrily tugging his wallet from the pocket of his cargo pants.

You positively beam at the prospect of Katsuki finally purchasing one of your products after literally months of blowing them off as dumb arts and crafts.

“I knew you’d come around. My soaps are the best in all of Shizuoka,” you joke.

“I’m not buyin’ it 'cause of the quality or whatever,” Katsuki grumbles out, shoving a few bills into your hand.

“Huh? Then why are you buying it?”

Rather than answering, Katsuki immediately flushes, avoiding eye contact and stuttering out a short keep the change before quickly rushing out of the stall intent on finding Izuku and giving him an earful about abandoning him at your ”shitty soaps stall” again.

Because yelling at Deku is much easier than confessing his feelings to the cute shopkeeper dressed as a bumblebee.

I saw people saying this on twitter and it left me kind of stumped so sorry if this is a stupid question i know you probably get lots of asks >.< but why do people think uraraka and bakugous quirks are compatible?? i couldnt seem to connect the dots

🙌 Astronauts.

Say you’re suspended in zero gravity at point A, and you want to get to point B. You’re holding a shoe. How do you get to point B?

1. Kick and flap your arms and “swim” to point B 2. Throw the shoe in the opposite direction from point B

The answer is #2. You won’t even move in the case of #1.

Mass is the key. Objects of mass act on each other with force, and that will propel you in a zero gravity environment. This is why I once ranted about Ochako needing propulsion support items. Water jets would even work!

Or, you know, Katsuki’s Explosion quirk would work too.

Katsuki would be able to fight well in a zero gravity environment because he has two palms that explode. He can use one palm to stabilize his position while the other palm attacks. He would get a marginal speed boost as well, though his balance perception will need to be adjusted for the lack of gravity. That’s what Ochako’s advantage would have been against him in the Sports Fest if she managed to touch him. She could knock him out before he might figure out how to adjust his blasts properly to keep in-bounds.

However, for that same reason, he would have an amazing advantage in an environment where everyone is affected by Zero Gravity. Say Ochako piggy-backs on Katsuki’s back. They could blast through the masses with agility, which would allow Ochako to tag all their enemies and get them floating. Those enemies would not be used to acting in a zero gravity environment, so they would basically be sitting ducks. Any who attempt to use their quirks could potentially blast themselves back in the recoil and take themselves out. Those who don’t would have to contend with a perfectly balanced Katsuki (see: two palms). His blasts would apply a force that would send them flying back too, and they’d have to figure out the correct amount of force to apply to counter him in a split-second--a tall order. If they attack too weakly, Katsuki will overpower them. If they attack too strongly, they could knock themselves out with recoil.

Sound does not travel in space. Outer space is, in essence, a vacuum. It has no air in its confines, it is merely empty. Air is essential for sound to be carried, after all, sound is just vibrating air – molecules being shifted up and down, bouncing as it carries your softest of whispers to the loudest of screams. But in space, there is no air, and therefore, sound does not carry.

Astronauts – the few that there are – rave, recount, and relay that space is the quietest thing in the world. No one could ever disagree with them, or ever challenge them, and that's okay! But Bakugou Katsuki is ready to challenge them, ready to call them out because that is the biggest lie in the world.

You thank Yaoyorozu as she passes back your test with the front face down. She nods with a smile and returns to her seat as you were the last to get your test back. You set the paper on your desk with a pen out ready for test corrections until class ended.

With only having to use your pen twice, one time to doodle, you pack up with a content feeling in your chest until you hear someone clearing their voice. You look up from your bag to see Bakugou with his arms crossed and an expectant look on his face. With a small sigh, you pull out your test paper and set it back on your desk with his right below it, just like his score.

You had him beat by eight points. You stared up at him as his gaze practically burned holes into your paper before you pulled it back into your backpack. “Out of sight, out of mind, so why don’t we just go back to the dorms and hang out for a bit without having to worry about test scores?” Regardless of how many times this has already happened, it’s become tradition that for every test your class took, you would compare scores. This, of course, was completely for the sake of Bakugou’s pride.

Ever since the entrance exam even, since you had gotten in through recommendations, he could never get a score higher than you did. Hell, he thought he had you cornered when he got a perfect score on one quiz until he saw you with your one hundred and two percent because you answered the extra-credit question right. At that moment, he could’ve sworn Aizawa was making fun of him. He didn’t even get an extra-credit question to answer.

Bakugou grumbled quietly and put his test paper back into his bag as the rest of the class emptied out until you two were the only ones left. “Sheesh, what the fuck can you not do?” You finished getting your things back into the possession of your bag and hoisted it up on your shoulder. “Lose, apparently.” You were lucky that Bakugou still waited for you as you walked back to the dorms hand-in-hand, even if he was still a bit angry that you had once again beat him. But nevertheless, he let you ramble on as you talked about your day while aimlessly looking around the campus scenery before looking at you.

He silently thought to himself that you had even managed to best the glowing scenery around you two as he could only focus his gaze on you. The hand that wasn’t holding his was free and waving around as you used gestures to talk animatedly. The weight of his bag with the addition of your own dug into his palm and he could only hear your voice like a soft melody to his ears.

“Bakugou. Bakugou? BAKUGOU.” He blinked and refocused his eyes on your figure. Damn, he had been spacing out. “Hey astronaut, I asked if there was anything you felt like eating for dinner.” You smirked at his dazed look before he looked away, saying that you could choose dinner for tonight.

“L/n. You’re with me.” Aizawa had barely finished explaining the exercise when Bakugou’s voice sounded in your ear. You mentally rolled your eyes but expected it. If it wasn’t you he paired up with, it was Kirishima, and that rarely happened. Today, you would be playing capture the flag. The catch was that whoever was your partner was actually on the opposite team of yours so you would go against each other.

Same team or not, Bakugou was going to win this time. You had no objects to use your telekinesis quirk on and he knew that it gave you headaches to try your quirk on more than one living person. He slipped on the neon yellow-colored armband and watched as you slipped on a neon green one. Why were P.E. equipment so ugly anyways? Bakugou decided not to focus on the question and started towards his team base.

You talked to Iida as well as the rest of the team on game strategy and decided on the good ol’ distract act. Iida and a few select others would go to distract the other side while you, Uraraka, and Jirou would sneak around to where the flag was being kept. Shoji would guard the base along with Tokoyami.

“L/n, are you sure you’re okay with being on offense? There’s a chance that you may have to engage in close-hand combat.” Jirou expressed her concerns as a close friend and you nodded. “Don’t worry, Jirou. I can handle myself, trust me.” You grin before Aizawa calls a one minute warning before the game starts.

“Okay L/n, Jirou. I’ll try to get you guys as close as I can to the base but are you really sure this is going to work?” Uraraka furrowed her eyebrows in worry as you nodded without a single trace of doubt in your expression. “Yup, as long as Jirou is able to extend her wires long enough to snatch the flag, we should be fine.” As Jirou went to retrieve the flag, your job was to defend her against anyone who came your way.

Before either of the two could get in another word, Aizawa shouted for you to start and the game was on. As predicted, most of the class was preoccupied on the front lines but that didn’t discard the possibility that the opposing team also had a special plan in mind. You had to act fast as Uraraka activated her quirk and sent Jirou and you flying over the heads of your classmates, using the shade of the forest trees below as a screen to hide your own shadows. Finally, you could see the small pole where the neon yellow-colored flag hung. Why were P.E. equipment so ugly anyways? You shook your head slightly and solely focused on the task at hand.

You and Jirou linked arms to stay close and you looked back to Uraraka to give her a silent warning that you were close to the location of the flag. She nodded and got ready to release her quirk just in case. Soon, you were looking straight down at the flagpole and you used your quirk to pull you down slowly. Since the branch you were using your quirk on was attached to a very sturdy tree, it either came to you or you came towards it.

But as you got close enough for Jirou to reach out using her wires as an extension of her body, an explosion came out of nowhere and Jirou had to pull back. You shout loudly for Uraraka to drop you as the plan had been compromised and you both hit the ground with a hard thud. “Heh, I knew it’d be you.”

You grunted and laid on the ground with one arm supporting your upper body. “That was mean, Bakugou. I’m not gonna eat dinner with you tonight.” You look away with a huff as he looks at you with an incredulous look. “Hah? I’m just playing by the rules. And what the fuck do you mean you’re not eating dinner with m—” You didn’t let him finish his sentence as you stood up in a handstand to kick him in the jaw before landing back on your feet.

You look over to Jirou to take the flag and run. She nods understandably and snatches the flag before turning to run, but not without looking back to look at you until you waved her off with a smile. “Don’t worry, I got this one.” You remember the first time she had seen you actually fight with the most shocking look on her face as well as the rest of your classmates.

Due to your figure that was more on the shorter and slimmer side, you didn’t look the type to be able to fend for your own in an actual fist fight but you managed to oppose the very idea every single time. Bakugou groaned and you winced as you heard something crack. “Ouch, sounded like it hurt. Do you need me to kiss your boo-boos for you?” Your tone was the type to be used towards a child and not very much to a teenager.

Bakugou could feel your smirk pressing itself against the back of his brain as he growled while you mocked him. He may have been daydreaming about your future wedding but all was fair in love and war after all, and right now, this was war. “God, you’re lucky I can even tolerate you, shitty idiot.” You hear him mutter. You silently laugh behind him while covering your smile as you watch him get to his feet.

“Five seconds.” He says. Wow, that was five more seconds than the usual head start. Compared to anyone else, you were surprised that he even offered you one in the first place. You smirk and jut your hip out with your arms crossed. Bakugou narrows his eyes on your small figure and his frown deepens. He was trying to give you a head start so he didn’t have to hurt you. As much as he wanted to win and as much as it actually ended up with you winning, he didn’t want to claim victory when you physically looked weaker than him.

Yet it was at times like these where you could train to become stronger as you went up against Bakugou. He might have been your boyfriend but it was like a silent agreement between you two that you would push each other to become a stronger, better version of themselves whether it involved academics, training, or their overall person.

You both had room to improve in different ways. For example, he needed to stop underestimating opponents while you perfected the perfect technique of making people think just that about you. But the truth was the truth in the end, you were strong and Bakugou knew that somewhere inside.

“Four.” You counted down. He gritted his teeth and growled in a low voice. “Y/n.” He warned. You hold his stare intensely. “Three.” At the rate Bakugou kept grinding his jaw, his teeth would be gone just like his toothbrushes. “Two.” The tone in your voice showed anticipation as it reached Bakugou’s ears.

You got into a fighting stance and watched as Bakugou did the same but you could tell there was still a slight hesitation. “One.” You lunge forward and go to throw a punch but he dodges and instead returns it with one of his own until you direct his fist up and block with your forearms touching each other.

You furrowed your eyebrows slightly as you could tell how soft he tried to make the impact. He was still holding back, maybe that’s why he kept losing. You shrug and take it as your chance to finally punch him. It was like it happened in slow motion as your fist hit his cheekbone and you watched with the biggest grin on your face as if you weren’t just punching your own boyfriend at the moment. He fell down to the ground and that’s when you realize the group of people off on the side.

“L/n, Bakugou, the game already ended a few minutes ago. You can stop fighting.” Iida informed both of you. You blink multiple times and take in your surroundings as all of your classmates are now here. “Oh, okay. Did we win?” You ask. Jirou and Uraraka hold up the flag and the class watches as your innocent smile takes over your lips even with your boyfriend passed out at your feet.

“Don’t worry, I’ll take him to Recovery Girl.”
