Did you know Astro Boy has had a few video games? Most of them are brawler games with stories that are somewhat based on the plot of Astro Boy.

I haven’t played them myself, but here they are!

Astro Boy: Omega Factor is probably the best game out of the ones here since it seems to be the highest quality and the most enjoyable to play. The visuals are in the Tezuka Productions art style and the game features Tezuka Star System characters!

For example, here is an exchange between Black Jack and Dr. Tenma:

The Sonic Team also made a PlayStation 2 video game based on the 2003 series that released in 2004.

Astro Boy: The Video Game is an action platform video game based on the 2009 movie. It could be played on the PlayStation Portable, then on the PlayStation 2, Wii and Nintendo DS. Like the Astro Boy 2004 video game, this game also uses clips from the media they’re based on as cutscenes.

Crystal Crisis is competitive tile-matching puzzle game by Nicalis released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Steam in 2019. The game features several Nicalis characters and other Tezuka characters.

This is more of a crossover game than an Astro Boy game, but the art is adorable!

Mokoto Tsumura, the voice of Atom in the 2003 anime voiced Atom in this game! The game is also narrated by the voice of Optimus Prime, and hearing him say “Astro Boy” was a surreal experience.

The music is lovely too, I love the Astro Boy Theme!

This is a haul largely composed of some gems I purchased/was gifted from a friend, alongside a few games I definitely did not need to buy.

I foolishly sold my copy of 999 for the DS and every port has just failed to capture the feeling. Code of Princess I will admit I purchased in large part due to my interest in the art given it's the 999 portrait artist's work!

Omega Factor is by far the one I'm most excited about here, it was a gift from a very good friend of mine and I am EXTREMELY excited for the chance to finally play it.
