ah sorry for the confusion!! what I'm writing at the moment is my final/fourth year research paper for my bachelor's degree, which is called a dissertation is the uk and ireland but would probably be called a thesis of some sort in the us! I'm definitely not a doctorate student, don't worry haha

25. How about favorite reading snacks?

I am all about the reading drinks— most often it’s tea (and yes, I do match the type of tea to the book I’m reading), but depending on what I’m reading/when I’m reading I’ll make a mixed drink to read outside in the summer (highly recommend blackberry mojitos), or hot chocolate for a fluffy read late at night. In terms of food, for reading I prefer something that I can eat over time like chips or pretzels (definitely salty over sweet), otherwise I won’t bother to eat while I reading, I’ll just stop reading and pick back up when I finish eating. Fun fact: did you know that the average Pennsylvanian eats 12 times the national average of pretzels? I thought this was a hoax until I realized that the average American only eats a single bag of pretzels a year???? I truly don’t understand non-Pennsylvanians.

39. Favorite book to movie/ TV show adaptation?

Stardust! Look, I love Neil Gaiman, but I often find his writing style is not compatable with my reading style. I love his concepts, plots, characters, but often find actually reading through his work a slog (though I’ve been listening to audiobooks of his work, and that helps a lot! I definitely enjoy them more in audiobook format). But Stardust the movie?? Transcends everything. Is it the kind of high art valued by the elites and the academy? No. But must a movie be “high art” to be great? Name a more fun movie, I dare you.

18. Recommend a book to the person who sent you this ask.

OKAY so, of my recent reads that i haven’t mentioned yet, I think you would enjoy Malice by Heather Walter! It’s a sapphic retelling of Sleeping Beauty, where “Maleficent” and the princess fall in love, and I loved it! Though, fair warning, it is the first in a duology which won’t be completed until next year. But read Malice and then we can suffer through the wait together! (Of course, knowing our overlapping taste, there is a good chance you have read this already, in which case I will apologize and recommend you 3 more books to try and make up for it)
