I do best with simplicity so this is less readable#Looking at a pic on a phone is so helpful for assessing ehat needs more touching. Ive always been bad about separating my pics with stripes#Of values ever since uni. It breaks the pic in two. Idk how to fix this except with more blending hatch lmao

actually deciding that when frank comes back to the pitt, his coworkers do Not treat him differently, do not shame or stare or whisper or avoid etc etc. i understand the interest to imagine this, but give that cassie is also a former addict, and that as emergency medicine doctors they would see and interact w addiction and addicts every day, i would find it really disappointing if this was the case. i dont think frank's addiction makes him a villain and i dont think the audience nor the show should treat him as such.
#the pitt#frank langdon#this all being said i do also obviously want complex feelings and experiences#regarding frank coming back#is robby feeling guilty for not noticing? is he subconsciously punishing frank for not having come to him?#is trinity feelings guilty for 'turning him in'? how does their relationship progress in s2?#is frank thinking that trinity turned him in maliciously? or is he correctly assessing it#as having been a genuine and compassionate move on her part?#how does cassie offer support (if at all)? how open is frank to talking about it?#has his confidence been shaken? does he trust himself less as result of robby trusting him less? DOES robby trust him less?

can i just say. i’m sick of showrunner discourse. like every few months it seems like people draw their lines and dig their trenches and every time it’s the same handful of points and episodes brought up to prove that their favorite showrunner is Good And Progressive and that their least favorite is Wrong And Bigoted and like. all of those episodes exist. they’re all real episodes of doctor who, and the sooner we can look at the good and the bad in doctor who, the sooner we can get somewhere actually worth being regarding discussion of politics on the show
#does this make any sense#it almost sounds like i’m advocating for a numbers game here#the showrunner w the highest ratio of based to baseless episodes is the Most Progressive#but like#more what i’m saying is doctor who isn’t a show that has grand political aims in the first place#so looking at how it interacts with politics and current events#and how it talks about and shows marginalized people#it worthwhile but i think the better move is to do it like By Issue rather than by showrunner#uh#this point could be more concise and better phrased but you know#like moffat is often argued to be pro- and anti-capitalist with one episode building the case for each#but like. he was showrunner for both?#so the answer to doctor who’s stance on capitalism must involve assessing both of these episodes and more

so many lando fans seemingly think today spells out the end of the championship. came into this triple header 16 points behind and max up our ass ended 2-1-2 compared to oscar’s 3-3-1, not to mention max 39 points behind now. today oscar had a better race and an overall better weekend, just like lando had an overall better weekend in monaco imola. but that’s equal race wins over the header and 2/3 races ending ahead of the other car. idk i think there’s more to improve on but im sick of everyone being doom and gloom all the time. this championship is going to be close till the end even when lando gets the lead back oscar won’t be too far behind and vice versa if it switches hands consistently throughout. it really looks like mclaren built a car that would avoid having to prioritize a driver as they are just that ahead lando has been making progress even with a car he’s struggling with and freaking out every weekend is going to be exhausting.
( i also spent so much of the race thinking he had no pace but the data is showing they weren’t too far off the dirty air rlly fucked us and lando did no favors at the start but much better than what i thought pace wise so we move)
#am i on copium or do other ppl also assess it the same?#i hope i’m not just bullshitting myself but lando can’t win them all and we have to realistic that the progress with the car is there#imola and monaco show that but this was a bad weekend which he will have 😭#🤷🏾♀️

Study Diary #5

Not exactly a great score - Back into the 'Pass' section but there is nothing that I can do. I just wanted to put this up to track my progress - it is 2 points higher than my previous submission for this module but I am not that happy with this. As I was seeing the comments put in by my professor I could see the stupid places where I made mistakes. But there is nothing that can be done to change it😶.

This Culture is a Vulture - WIP
So guess who got a working rig :3
For a reminder: aggressive_poetry on Instagram made this and I may be slightly curious about it and am channelling that into a skin design. They have a DTIYS rn and even though this isn't drawing, I still want to have a play.
Go check em out if you have an Instagram; tell em The Eye Lady sent ya (if u wanna be funny and confuse the hell out of them :3)
The biggest upcoming issue will definitely be the wing rig, as the version I have has not been updated since 2022... fun :D

i would hate standardized tests less if they weren’t used as a metric for students’ academic performance and success
#i hate them with a burning passion#there’s just so many factors at play that could jeopardize the performance of a student when taking standardized tests#students learn in different ways AND should allow to showcase their progress with assessments that suit them better#logan.txt

Argh no-one here would happen to have experience with ADHD and having to memorize large chunks of text would they? Because at the moment it's so painfully understimulating that I cannot physically force myself to sit down and learn this damn speech
#i hate adhd why am i about to fail this assessment because learning my lines was genuinely too boring for me to cope with#the way that i cannot listen to music or take 2 minutes to stare out of the window and am literally just sitting there#repeating the same thing over and over really really fucks with me and i cannot force myself into doing it#essays are boring but at least i can listen to music and take 5 mins to scroll tumblr every now and then without all progress being lost

If you have two conflicting design elements in one place, try moving one slightly.
Or: I was grafting and fitting Armada! Megatron's distinctive stag-beetle-mandible-helmet-antlers off from the helmet (and classic bucket silhouette) and onto the back of the neck/upper back for a bit of fun. I guess they ended kind of small, but the shape and position work. And they can move.
When I sat down for this I was thinking that those mandibles are for digging/are some sort of mining equipment kibble (Armada! Megs' tank mode retains those mandibles under the barrel), but with the size they ended up at I guess they can be sensors of some kind. Perhaps they are collapsible or foldable? Although, it won't be a first time a transformer has some weird pointy bits sticking up from the back - Arcee's kibble backpack has pretty sharp incarnations.
#Work in progress coming never#I really need to get a tablet or something#I figured GIMP out after a decade of traditional only#But I only have a mouse and sporadic assess to a table surface#Maccadam#Transformers#Megatron#This was done in about 40 minutes#Nighty Draws

New Scotland Yard: Reunion (1.12, LWT, 1972)
"It's not his style!"
"And Clifford's not a very pleasant character."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Just I think he's being getting under your skin."
"Well, he'd get under anybody's skin."
"Because he got away with it, before?"
"There are no facts to prove that Clifford wasn't there. Just as there were no facts to prove that he wasn't a party to the bank job, but you and I and every man in this force know that he was."
"And there's damn all we can do about it. Look, I'm not stitching him up just because he happens to have made idiots of us in the past; we have to prove, conclusively, without supposition, who killed Gemmell."
#new scotland yard#reunion#1972#classic tv#lwt#david cunliffe#nicholas palmer#john woodvine#john carlisle#robin ellis#sharon duce#virginia stride#richard hampton#tom criddle#pauline stroud#andrew armour#donald groves#john laker#terence conoley#john devaut#by the numbers 70s cop drama which does very little to distinguish itself from any other of the many contemporaries it had#Except that it finally gives us a little development of the Woodvine and Carlisle relationship. way back in ep 4 there was a throw away#line to the effect that Carlisle is really here to study and to learn from an officer of Woodvine's experience and reputation; here we#finally (finally!) get an actual sense of that being true‚ as Woodvine leads Carlisle to a few deductions and crucially tells him to handle#the finále of the episode (the apprehension of an armed fugitive) as he sees fit; but with it implicitly understood that Woodvine will be#watching and assessing how Carlisle handles the situation. a pre Poldark Ellis and the ever lovely Virginia Stride are the heart of the#episode as a married couple separated by his conviction for a bank robbery; much is made of what a harsh sentence he received but actually#by the standards of today seven years sounds almost progressively lenient... Stroud's WDC reappears and gets named briefly in dialogue but#alas I've already forgotten what she was called... apologies. she's still mostly relegated to making tea. quelle surprise

really interesting development in glen powell's conservative dog-whistling which i highlighted on this tumblr a week or so ago now. the new york times has just covered twisters among other films pandering to conservatives (article is behind a paywall here):
and why is this happening? the article states:
"Ticket buyers in red states were the fastest to return to theaters after the pandemic, while those in coastal cities were the slowest. Some large markets, including San Francisco, have not fully recovered, according to studio distribution executives."
so. twisters is a conservative film. this is really evident in both its star and its director dog-whistling to republicans in interviews, but also in the film itself: the female star of the original not being invited back even for a tiny cameo, the hero of this film being republican-coded, no climate change mentioned even in passing, a character outright stating the heroine in this film "cannot be trusted" because she is from new york, the anti-intellectualism, the rodeo scene, a male character mansplaining to a female character, a meteorologist, basic facts about tornadoes, etc. i could go on.
and why is this a problem besides the really obvious? well, GLAAD's broadcast findings reported a dramatic decrease in LGBTQ+ representation last year. this trend is going to get worse. storytelling is regressing politically. less LGBTQ+ characters, less female characters, less any-characters besides straight white christian men. (yeah. religion is a big one also. look at the meltdown over the harmless paris olympics opener.)
we're going backwards, and they'll disguise it as "we don't want to preach a message. we just want to entertain." but we all know what their real intention is: making as much money as possible, even if it means shafting anyone who is not a conservative straight white christian man. (hollywood really saw women flock to the barbie movie and said, "we need more movies about toys!" and not, "we need more movies about women.")
twisters is a sub-par film. that's not the issue here. the issue is it's a canary in a coal mine. it is one of the first big blockbusters post-pandemic to brazenly cater to conservative audiences. i mentioned in my last post olivia culpo's soft-launch as a trad-wife was immediately highlighted and called out on tiktok. powell did not face this immediate backlash because he's a man. he has more room to play. i'm actually shocked the new york times called twisters out. i respect it though.
#twisters was not good#(that is my tag to track glen powell's movie star ascent or descent)#as a girl with a media degree i find it fascinating watching someone so openly try to become a movie star#we're assessing how he navigates being a conservative trying to appeal to a broad (half progressive) audience#his pr team will tell him not to reply to the new york times i believe#he might reply in like six months time in a carefully staged magazine interview
