Some observations on the scenes between Dr Langdon, Mel, and Terrence, the autistic patient with an ankle sprain, from an autistic person:
I’ve seen a few people comment of these scenes as the (or a) reason the dislike Langdon as a character, some with the sentiment that this makes him a bad person. I have a very different take. I personally love this storyline, I love the way it’s done. I think they wrote it just this way to illustrate a very important part about the healthcare system (and I’m talking pretty much globally here, cos it’s not just the US), which is that Dr Langdon is missing a vital part of his education. Almost all doctors are. They aren’t being taught about autism or neurodiversity or disability nearly enough, and certainly not how to properly accomodate patients who are autistic.
I think Dr Langdon comes into the interaction with Terence the way he would any other patient, friendly, upbeat, asking whether he’d prefer Terry or Terrence, and for a neurotypical patient that would probably be a really great interaction. He’s doing the right thing - just not for this patient. And autism aside (omg I never thought I’d say that but gimme a sec), I can understand for healthcare workers how irritating it must be having patients constantly googling their symptoms and trusting what they read on the internet. We’re all for self advocacy, but WebMD can send you down needless spirals and I’ve been there so many times and literally have never had that super rare condition that I convinced myself I’m dying of at 2am.
So it’s not surprising he get’s irritated, but, again, I’d say he handles it kinda well, in that he at least just leaves the situation and doesn’t snap at the patient or give him some long, shaming lecture. He lets Mel take him.
Which is where we get to the bit that makes me so emotional. Mel looks at the patient’s chart and points out he’s autistic (identity first thank you!), and it so doesn’t surprise me at all when Langdon says “sprained ankle it’s not related”, because that’s literally what he’s been taught. That’s what all doctors are fucking taught. They’re kinda maybe taught what autism is (the bare bones and probably a lot of it is still outdated), but not how to talk to an autistic person, or what they might need, or even that they will just meet autistic people, no matter what department they work in.
So it’s not necessarily that he’s ableist, it’s that he literally just doesn’t know. He makes his little comment about treating three other patients while Mel treats Terrence, because he thinks he’s just a “Dr Google”, and moves on. Because the ER is packed and they need to treat patients and ship them off.
(I’m rewatching the scene and Mel legit makes me cry here.) Mel’s interacts with Terrence when she comes in are near perfect. She closes the door and turns down the lights because he’s probably been there for hours and even if those weren’t that overwhelming at first they would be super overstimulating by then. Then she asks him his main concerns, and she listens and takes him seriously when he tells her. I’ve had a grand total of one doctor do this, and it was the safest I’ve ever felt in a medical situation.
But then Langdon comes back. I’m not gonna lie, when Mel was talking to Terrence, and had made all those little (but impactful) accommodations, then Langdon opened the door again, I had this wave of worry through my body the first time I watched it. I thought it was going to go so differently. I thought he was opening the door and standing there because he didn’t want Mel making accommodations, that it was his way of asserting power and saying we do it my way. And I think you can tell that Mel and Terrence worried about that too.
Nope. He came to watch. He came to observe his new trainee interact with this patient, because he was curious. He didn’t need to be there. Medicine wise, Mel would totally have it handled.
Side note - When he asked about the pain level out of ten Terrences reply was so me! I’ve thought that every time someone talks about pain out of 10! How is anyone meant to make that assessment??
At this point you can see him realise he’s in over his head. Mel is clearly so much better equiped to talk to Terrence and make him feel safe and comfortable enough to receive care. But he just watches, in awe. Because to him there’s just difficult patients, who fight you, and make treating them harder, and non-difficult patients. But here he’s learning that there’s a way to interact with this man that isn’t difficult, that makes him feel safe, and allows treatment to be provided. And he wants to be able to do that. That’s why he asks Mel “how did you do that?” Because he wants to be better. He wants to be able to speak to other patients in that way. He clearly wants to be the best doctor, and most of that is in the procedures he does, but he knows that a lot of it will come from how he interacts with his patients too. He chooses in this moment to learn from Terrence and Mel.
Then, when he sees Terrence later to discharge him, he apologises for them getting off on the wrong foot. He doesn’t need to, but he does - because he recognises that he came at the situation wrong. And he wishes him good luck with the table tennis tournament (I’m not sure if it’s implied that Mel told him about this or that Terrence told him off screen, because he wasn’t in the room when he told Mel, and Terrence seems surprised that he mentioned it) and says "okay" with a smile when Terrence offers to teach him how to play. What starts off as a really negative interaction ends so positively. Because of Mel, and because Langdon was eager to learn. That’s why he tells her “you’re great with your patients, you even taught me a couple of things.”
That’s why this is such a fucking excellent scene/episode/series, because the issue isn’t just “oh doctors are ableist” (even though yeah, lots are), it isn’t that black and white. The issue is that there isn’t enough education. People in healthcare aren’t being taught enough about autism and the different kinds of people they’re going to come across (see sickle-cell patient, unhoused patients, victims of abuse, etc.) even if they want to be. That’s why doctors like Mel matter so so so much. That’s also why even though it would be amazing if they confirm she’s autistic, it wouldn’t be unrealistic if she’s undiagnosed. That’s why doctor Langdon says to her that sensitive people are needed there badly. Because she makes those around her better, if they just care to watch and learn.

Honestly one pretty common trope among horny fairy art that just manages to miss the mark on what the appeal of fairies is for me specifically is stuff that centers around the fairy sort of. Stretching around a cock that's as big as her. Not in an "I don't like goofy Looney tunes style unrealistic sex" way, just because it goes against what i find compelling about fairies anatomy wise in that I don't have a fetish for having sex with fairies i have a fetish for BEING a fairy. And a large part of that comes from the fragility and vulnerability, and being physically incapable of asserting my own will. So making it so that fairies are just magic enough to accommodate otherwise physically impossible feats kind of diminishes that fragility. I'd rather be in a position where one wrong move could kill me. So i really like fairy stuff where like. Yeah regular person size sex is off the table. Penetration is out. If you want to be intimate with a fairy you have to accomodate and think outside the box. This is its own unique situation so the fairy is, say, going in your palm and getting arms and legs pushed back by two of your fingers like it's tiny bondage while you tease erogenous stuff with another finger and if you clenched your fist right now she would die and that's really hot that you could do that but won't. Or maybe you will. Haha😵💫. I don't know if that makes sense. That might be a me-specific preference.
#at the end of the day i have a habit of using a lot of words that ultimately just amount to describing#“yeah im a masochistic pillow princess can you immobilize me and then just kind of do whatever while i pout about it” over and over

lowkey part of why I love Milo Murphy’s Law is because it’s about friends being okay with/accomodating of a friend’s disability (well in this case curse) and not being questioning of his accommodations that he’s comfortable with. Also the first episode is literally the bully character not thinking Milo can make it to school and Melissa asserting that he can. Also the school gives him accommodations like turning in all of his doctor’s notes at once. Classic Povenmire W.

Mages & Seers: Experience and Comprehension
Those who know, everybody. I love Seers - so this should be one hell of an analysis.
The Mage:Seer class dichotomy embodies experience, comprehension and knowledge of their Aspect. Their Quest and their role in the session revolves wholly around their personal comprehension of their Aspect; and the ways in which that may shift or change their (or others!) viewpoint.
I can't definitively say they're one of the Classes that say something about their session, beyond perhaps the concept that a Mage or a Seer will obviously have a well of knowledge on their Aspect present.
Canonical Mage players are Sollux Captor (Mage of Doom) and Meulin Leijon (Mage of Heart).
Canonical Seer players are Rose Lalonde (Seer of Light), Terezi Pyrope (Seer of Mind) and Kankri Vantas (Seer of Blood).
Point A. The narrative function of the Mage.
Mages know about their Aspect. They are that simple to understand. A lot of people will argue that the Mage is one of the more nebulous classes in Homestuck; and I'd argue this is because there really isn't much in the way of complexity with them. They've got a fairly straightforward relationship with their Aspect; having experienced it wholly throughout their life prior to the session.
It's almost, to me, as if their Aspect haunts them in a sense. We see this with Sollux's recurring visions of Doom and misfortune; considering that the Mages & Seers are meant to fill a sort of 'prophet' archetype.
Sollux is consistently depicted as knowledgeable on coding (a manifestation of Doom in the form of rigid order and regulation) and holding a vast well of knowledge and foresight on the topic of suffering. It's important to hold the distinction that Doom does not deal directly with absolute death (Time does), and so Sollux's visions are of the imminently doomed and the suffering, not the already deceased.
Meulin is a little more difficult to pin down, but inference from stray lines of dialogue and particularly her complex moirallegiance with Horuss give me some substance to work with. Toxic positivity? Alluded 'darkness' in her without elaboration? Her disability being inflicted directly as a result of her partner & lover? I think what we're looking at here is depression.
If Meulin has experience with Heart in all facets - this implies to me that she has a share of experience with emotion in all facets. Good and bad. And what better manifestation of poor emotional control than that? I think it's a very conclusive theory.
It becomes clear to me that Mages aren't absolute in their assertions, and so therein comes my theory that their quest involves an expansion of perspective and reconsideration of their knowledge. It is to accept that they may not understand their Aspect as thoroughly as once thought and subsequently grow to accomodate a wider worldview. They're stagnant, having experienced so much that they feel they have no further room to learn.
Point B. The practical function of the Mage.
This is a more difficult one to understand since neither Mage in the comic God Tiers and they aren't seen fighting much over the course of the story. Even when Sollux takes to action, he applies his psiionics rather than utilising Doom in any way.
My theory is that the application of a Mage is to inform. Mages & Seers may very well hold the same occupation broadly speaking, to accomodate for the gaps in co-players' knowledge and bring about newfound understanding. Being active players, the Mages presumably advance this through their own means. This is some of the most active conjecture I'll be writing, since we do not ever see a God-Tiered Mage in canon.
Point C. The narrative function of the Seer!
In case it wasn't obvious, I am very excited to get this segment done; after all, who better to talk on the topic of Seers than... a Seer?
Seers have a little more depth to their function involving their relationship with both their Aspect and its diemetric opposite. Seers begin their sessions holding a poor or deficient comprehension of their Aspect; to the point where they seek their opposite. The notion of their base Aspect comes into play fairly soon - though they may superficially seek their opposite, it is their Aspect they seek in actuality.
They do hold a certain level of foresight, but rather than the Mage's inherent comprehension, Seers tend to rely upon external sources and stimuli to further their understanding; Rose with the Horrorterrors, Terezi with Scratch & Aranea, and we can only guess with Kankri.
They are capable of having visions, though - as Rose & The Signless can both attest to!
Rose seeks Void. She seeks to breach the unknowable, catalogues the Zoologically Dubious and finds comfort in oblivion and the pursuit of ignorance. She resolves to leave the game to Void rather than seek its Light; at first.
Terezi seeks Heart. Her final speech to Vriska talks of her emotional insecurity and pursuit of self-assurance. She wishes most prominently for security in herself and her identity; and yet this manifests in a flawed pursuit of binary, deficient Mind.
Kankri seeks Breath. Having been coddled and patronised all his life, freedom is his ultimate aim. His rebellious spirit and compulsive boot-licking seem to be a direct manifestation of his desire to think for himself and be free in his direction. Kankri's a particularly interesting one given that he fucked up his quest, canonically.
...The Signless didn't, however. The Signless pursued unity through freedom his whole life.
Rose resolves to pursue knowledge through the unknown.
Terezi seeks logic through emotion.
All of them grow, the further they pursue their Session's aims, to understand their base Aspect. It's a reversal of the Mage's quest; the stagnant Mage must embrace diversity wheras the directionless Seer embraces their certain path.
Point D. The practical function of the Seer.
Apologies, this is going to be mostly just about Rose.
Rose's role in her session post-ascension is to understand and inform her session-mates about the most fortuitous path. Her visions allow her to comprehend Light and sift through the endless possibilities and synthesis of her Aspect to find the most precise outcome. They grow to be an indispensible well of knowledge; always learning and finding out their Aspect's truth.
Terezi does the same, albeit without ascending; her greatest moment of heroism is the prelude to the Retcon, which she directly causes. Terezi applies all of her knowledge of consequence, cause & effect to undo the resultant consequences of the actions taken by her sessionmates. She uses her comprehension of Mind to her utmost ability; which is why I find it gut-wrenching that she still believes she was never enough.
Kankri... does jack shit other than be a whiny little bootlicker, but The Signless certainly applies his Aspect for the greater good. The fire of his rebellion and his pursuit of unity and free communication on Alternia ignite the spark of revolution for generations to come; his quest for Blood bringing utmost comprehension and sight of unity.
Overall, this is one Class where the narrative:practical lines tend to blur a little, owing to the general non-combatant status of the Classes in general. Rose shows they're capable of using their Aspect in combat just as all players are; but it seems clear to me that they function the best as advisors.
Next week, I'll be elucidating on the Witches & Heirs; which will be an interesting one since it'll require me to actually understand what a Witch does. That should be fun.
Take care, everybody. I know nothing.

Sickness
All audiences
Laketown was wet. The buildings, the streets, the people - wet. It was very much against the tastes of Thorin and his company, and yet the menfolk had opened their doors to the Dwarven clan, even if it was for their own selfish reasons. As such, the Dwarves had been careful during their time here, keeping to themselves as much as possible.
The Company burglar appeared to have no such reservations. Much to Thorin's chagrin, Bilbo seemed to revel in the place: he was forever coming back from a long day, blathering about who he'd met and the gossip he'd heard; he'd taken to walking the market, 'just to look'; he'd even managed to buy a pouch of the menfolk's sickly smelling pipe-weed which, while he asserted was nothing on his beloved Old Toby, he'd been making short work of nonetheless.
The wet, however, had gotten to Bilbo, too. Just in a different way than it did the Dwarves. Bilbo had developed a hacking cough a couple of days ago, and had waved off Thorin's concern with explanations of damp air and finally resting after too long on the road.
But the cough had worsened, until Bilbo's chest rattled with it and Oin had taken to giving him medicines to take with his morning and afternoon tea. But it hadn't been enough, and today the Hobbit had not risen from his bed at all, not even for one of his many meals, which had Thorin very concerned indeed.
But there were only so many times that he might check on his burglar or order one of the Company to do so before someone became suspicious, and so Thorin had had to suffer in near silence all day, fretting about Bilbo's wellbeing and trying very hard not to investigate the reasons why he was so deeply troubled by it.
It wasn't until they were sat at their evening meal in Bard's very small dining room (that also doubled as the Dwarves' temporary accomodations) that Bilbo finally surfaced. Thorin, who had only been half listening to the conversation around him, was the first to hear the burglar's uncharacteristically heavy tread on the stairs, and he was on his feet and turning just in time to watch Bilbo step onto the last stair.
It was very wrong of him, to be enamoured with how the burglar looked. His hair was ruffled and haphazard, his round face were flushed and slightly shiny from sweat, his hazel eyes were hazy, heavy lidded, and his body was lax, loose. He looked ravaged.
Thorin valiantly attempted to rein himself in, reminding himself that the Hobbit was very much unwell as he chided, 'You really ought to be in bed, Master Baggins.'
'I know, I'm sorry, it's just ...' Bilbo swayed on the spot, steadying himself with a hand on the doorframe as he blinked blearily up at the Dwarf King. 'I ... I've run out of m-medicine -'
Bilbo pitched forward, and there was a scraping of chairs as the Dwarves all stood from the table, but Thorin had already moved. He caught the Hobbit effortlessly before he hit the ground, and lifted the smaller male into his arms, cradling him carefully. He grunted at the sheer heat that rolled off the halfling's slender form - even as a being who ran as hot as a furnace, it was sweltering to Thorin.
'He's burning up,' the King growled, frustrated and worried all over again and entirely unsure as to why or how to express it. 'Oin -'
'On it.' The Company's Physician was already digging through his bag, handing various items out to waiting hands, who passed them along the table until they reached Thorin's outstretched palm.
A clean cloth to soak for the Hobbit's forehead; a glass thermometer to be pressed under his tongue; a small bottle of pain relieving draught, and another that Thorin scrunched his nose at in recognition.
'This is for children,' he shot down the table at Oin, but the old Dwarf simply raised one unimpressed silver eyebrow.
'Aye, and our burglar's size would indicate that it would be unwise for him to injest medicines intended for those of our species who are fully grown. Would you not agree, my King?'
Thorin flushed at the careful reprimand and dipped his head in deference to the Physician, who had the good grace to bow in return. He noticed a few of the Company casting fearful glances at the bundle in his arms, and he hurriedly turned away, intent on making Bilbo as comfortable as possible.
He was halfway up the stairs when he heard Kili whisper, 'Well, just picture the look on Bilbo's face when he wakes up and we tell him who it was that nursed him back to health!'

Aauuhaaaaggghh okay so. Oc time but not a full body drawing bc i dont feel like it

SO this is my last dragonborn. What happened was last year i was overwhelmed with the intense urge to replay skyrim (i saw skyrim memes on pinterest and it reignited that passion for whatever reason). This guy was like. My 5th or 6th save file, i just hadnt played in a really long time. I didnt wanna repeat a race so i chose high elf. I didnt have too much planned for him other then "high elf but hes a pathetic wet paper bag of a man and cant ever catch a break and is also a werewolf to completely counter his regular pathetic crybaby coward nature". Hes only 40 years old and already very tired.
His name is Argent. Not the most standard altmer name but thats because i named him after a completely different interest of mine and didnt intend to make him into the in-depth oc he is now. Hes a good bit taller than the average altmer but its hard to tell because he has horrible posture. He is really strong and capable, hes just a nervous wreck and doesnt like getting into fights despite always winning them. Like, getting into a fistfight sobbing and crying the whole time even though hes winning by a long shot. He just doesnt like being mean. He cant assert himself to save his life. But then, of course, hes also a werewolf. So hes scared of being Found Out. Again. Will elaborate on that later. Naturally as i played the file (this is only the second file that i actually completed the main quest) i developed him as an actual character over time.
Lore under cut bc this got waaayyy longer than i probably needed to make it
Argent was born on Summerset to a family in the Dominion. His parents, for whatever reason, decided they didnt like him, a hulkynd. Argent has an older brother named Solitar who he does not know about. Solitar was beyond excited to finally have a sibling, only for THAT to happen, so naturally he was totally devastated. Solitar was actually the one who had to go and take baby Argent to an orphanage or anyone who would be willing to care for him. But Solitar swore he would keep an eye on Argent whenever he had the chance to even if it would only be a passing glance from a painfully large distance.
As Argent grows up, he very quickly finds himself out of place from everyone else. Hes autistic, but the people who he was in the care of weren't very accomodating. Neither they nor he knew what was up with him, they just thought he was being difficult or worse, that there was just something fundamentally Wrong with him. He also found himself getting anxious around people. People had too many unspoken rules, too much eye contact, too many voices at the same time, he hated it. He hated that people were just generally not very nice. At the age of 14, he just couldn't take it anymore. Why were people so mean? Why was everything so unfair? He gets overwhelmed by everything, runs off into the woods, which are unnaturally quiet but its what he needed. As he calms down, he spots a white deer staring him down from a short distance. It slowly approaches him, seemingly curious of him. Argent had never actually directly interacted with an animal before, so he gets worried that itll hurt him, but instead it stops right in front of him and lowers its head to look more closely at him and speaking. It asks what Argent is so scared of, he simply responds "everything", so it asks if he wants to be strong, to be able to protect himself when hes scared. Argent doesnt even think twice about the fact that a deer was speaking or what it couldve meant by that, so he agrees. He was just tired of people. This was the very first time he became a werewolf.
So, of course, now the big issue around this whole place is "there is a werewolf and we need to eradicate it. Immediately." Obviously they dont know its just some kid, and they probably wouldnt care anyway. A werewolf is a werewolf and it had no place in this world. But one day after a transformation and hes unconscious, Solitar actually finds him. Solitar is. Conflicted but ultimately decides he'll do what he can to keep people from finding his little brother until he can find a way to get him out of Summerset.
Years of Argents life is then spent doing nothing but surviving. Avoiding getting caught simply existing. He doesnt know that the reason why he hadnt been caught yet is because theres someone out there giving false leads on his location. But still, extremely horrible way to live. But he knows hes stuck with this. He never saw that deer again. They dont know who exactly the werewolf is, but it wouldnt matter either way. He would be hunted down and killed and he could only do so much to protect himself. As much as he couldnt stand people, he didnt enjoy killing them, no matter how much they fully intended to kill him. He just hated it all. He hated himself. He hated everything.
At 35 he finally approached by a Thalmor soldier. Hes terrified but exhausted, just recovered from a transformation, but instead of killing him, the soldier tells him to come with him. Argent is scared for whatever fate awaits him but hes too tired to resist. The soldier leads him to some nearby docks, tells him to get on the boat thats there, explains that the boat is heading out to Cyrodiil. Argent is confused but complies. As long as hes getting away from everything here. The soldier is Solitar, or course, but Argent has no way of knowing who he is.
Argent lives a decent 5 years living around Cyrodiil doing odd jobs but couldnt quite live anywhere, mostly because he was broke but also because he was scared he would get found out and hunted down again... which is exactly what happened. As it turns out, even if youre really good to people, if they find out youre a werewolf, theyll think you were lying to them the whole time and then theyll hate you. So, instead of dealing with all that again, he picks a direction and runs like hell. Unfortunately, the direction he picked was straight towards "that imperial ambush" right on the border of Skyrim. At that point he basically accepts his fate. Knelt down at the chopping block, his mind a total haze of regret, anger, resignation... and then a dragon attacks.
He goes with Hadvar simply because Hadvar was at a shorter distance than Ralof was. Hadvars family offers him shelter, sends him off with the task to head to Whiterun to warn the jarl about the dragon. Argent does as hes told because he has no idea what else he could possibly do. He never does stay at their house, in fact he never visits them again because he has a firm belief that if they found out what he really was, they would also all turn on him. So it was best not to get close to anyone. He gets to whiterun, passes by Jorrvaskr, gets a feeling hes never felt before, like a sort of familiarity, turns around and locks eyes with Vilkas further away. Any kind of eye contact automatically feels like aggression to him, yet Argent freezes in place especially since Vilkas starts walking towards him. Argent cant read his expression at all, as far as he could tell Vilkas fully intended to beat the shit out of him right then and there. Of course, thats not what ends up happening. Vilkas asks him what hes doing here, Argent very nervously explains that he needs to get to the jarl bc of a dragon attack. Vilkas tells him to go and do that and then come back to jorrvaskr whenever he can.
And then, surprise surprise! Argent helps kill a dragon and now all of a sudden hes a "dragonborn" and this and that and whatever and its too much for him to think about so he doesnt. Once jarl balgruuf tells him to head to high hrothgar, he immediately goes down to jorrvaskr instead, just to get his mind off of the sudden crushing weight of the responsibility of the fate of the world on his shoulders.
Blah blah blah Argent joins the Companions, its basically standard questline stuff but without the whole "drink this blood to become a werewolf" bit. Argent just finally feels accepted. He doesnt want to disappoint them, especially not Kodlak, who had been especially understanding of him. So, hes especially devastated when he comes back with a glenmoril witch head only to find out that Kodlak had been killed. He hadnt taken his time at all with the quest, in fact he tried to get it done as quickly as possible. So to find that he failed Kodlak, especially with Vilkas directing his anger towards him, Argent felt horrible.
Once all that was resolved and they got rid of Kodlaks wolf soul, it suddenly occured to Argent that he hadnt actually become a werewolf in a while himself. As if this entire experience had helped him be in more control over himself. He cures Vilkas and Farkas when they asked for his help. Despite everything Kodlak said and wrote in his journal, Argent still didnt feel worthy of the title of Harbinger. Especially not after learning more about Ysgramor. It didnt matter much at the moment since he had significantly more dire problems to attend to. He basically has severe imposter syndrome.
Blah blah typical skyrim stuff. Not much out of canon happens, Argent just finds himself feeling freer than ever and gradually is able to be less of a pushover. And, despite his efforts to be kind and avoid conflict, its mostly driven by hatred. Hatred towards how peoppe treat each other. Its an odd contradictory feeling. People are insufferable and he just wants things to be better for everyone so they wouldnt have to be insufferable. He wants people to listen. He wants everyone to calm the fuck down. He wants everyone to be nicer to each other. Unfortunately some people utterly refuse to change and try to kill him about it.
Obviously through his adventuring he quickly finds out the Thalmor are here and he just as quickly finds out that he can actually properly defend himself. After defeating Alduin, hes finally actually confident enough in his strength that he begins to actively antagonize the thalmor just to have an excuse to kill them. He knows better than anyone else that theyre the reason behind the whole conflict in skyrim and at this point he stops caring if hes justified in hunting them down. Deep down, he knows its just revenge.
Um other than that he marries Vilkas and lives at Lakeview manor. Its actually Vilkas who fell for him first and Farkas and Aela playfully bullied him relentlessly for it. Argent actually thought Vilkas suddenly had an issue with him again since he started acting stern again but then it was just that he doesnt know how to act when he feels that way towards someone. Argent also goes through everything on solstheim but its fine because he decides Ralis is gonna be his best friend now. Argent also does dawnguard mostly because he just... ran out of things to do.
And then! After all that, guess who shows up? Solitar. He was transferred to skyrim and he hears about The Dragonborn and then very quickly realizes "oh my gods thats my little brother", send him a letter to meet somewhere secret. And then they meet and Solitar tells him Everything. And promises not to tell the Thalmor that they met.
I forgot to mention Delphine, but Argent absolutely does not kill Paarthurnax and just never talks to her again after she suggested that, especially since she came up to him with that immediately after one of the most stressful things he had ever experienced in his life (season unending). Anyway, Malborn was killed in the embassy quest, which Argent feels absolutely horrible about, but then Malborn stuck around as a ghost because hes actually having a really good time haunting the embassy. Idk.
This is relevant because somehow they find out what Solitar did and decide to torture him about it for info i guess. They leave him for dead, Malborn actually is the one who gets a letter sent to Argent basically saying "this guy says hes your brother, come by if he is and if you want him alive". So he does. And then Argent has Solitar live with him.
And yeah thats Argent. At least, thats the original version of him. One day i thought to myself "but what if his parents kept him" and that actually managed to be an extremely different development of character that i actually found even more interesting. Ill talk about that one (Argent2?) another time.
#golly this was a lot#and i like argent2 more. oh well#i dont really know how to go about tagging this#tesblr#the elder scrolls#skyrim#tes oc

Colin and the brothel
So I've seen leaks or speculations circling around about season 3 episode 7, about how Colin would find out Penelope is Lady Whistledown. Specifically, how he would react to this reveal, apparently: they would have a big fight, and after that, he would go to a brothel in anger. The reaction to this possibilty, as far as I've seen, has ranged from at best, skeptical, and at worst, absolutely furious. Even as the leak also assured that Colin would not seal the deal with adultery, the mere implication that he would even consider it, as what I've seen, was either unimaginable or so beyond the pail that it was sufficient evidence to villify him.
For now, everything still remains speculations. If it turns out he would not go to the brothel after LW reveal, it's fine. Otherwise, if it turns out that he would go the brothel after a fruitless argument with Penelope...? ALSO FINE.
Like, is it cheap drama? Yes. Is it a valid response considering the situation? Also yes. Intrusive thoughts can be one hell of a drug. But aside from that, considering his circumstances, I would think it a pretty solid development for his character.
Let's get the meta reason out of the way: the writers need knock him off his pedestal, according to what they claimed, in order to get him and Penelope to the same (somewhat) level. So far he has been a perfect gentleman, perfectly accomodating, helpful, honest and emotionally honest with Penelope. Forgiving and compassionate. The same arguably cannot be said about her. Going to the brothels is Colin's Chekhov's gun of a crutch, a toxic, "empowering" coping mechanism for him the same way LW is for Penelope. The narrative frames his experience with the two sex workers in similar way with Pen writing a gossip column: temporary reprieves from emotional distress. Achievements that according to society they should be proud of. It would not be surprising to me that Colin would briefly retreat back behind this familiar shield after the Whistledown bomb drops on him. And what a bomb that would be.
And with his current state of mind, and the stage of their relationship, I'm not sure how else he could have reacted, beside dissociating the hell out of the situation for awhile. He could not break off their engagement, because (according to the leaks), their engagement or marriage was already public and could not be annulled or postponed without causing a huge scandal, and because he loves her, he does not want to do this. He could not tell his family, they would probably be very angry and for good reason. Because he loves Penelope and would not want to rob her of the joy of with his family at Bridgerton House, especially not after she told him how much it meant to her. Telling his family she's LW would be a pretty surefire way to end that refuge for good. He would be furious, and rightfully so. He would feel tricked. Manipulated. His opinions ignored. That his affections were taken for granted. He would feel like he trusted and confided in the wrong person. He would feel like the Marina story was repeating itself before him, made worse by the person who condemned her, the person who he thought was his best friend, who after listening to him asking her to trust him, didn't, and behind his back made decision about his future for him. Plus his own moral opinions against Whistledown's ethics and her subject matters, Colin has some pretty good, compounding reasons to be angry. That anger has to go somewhere. And there's not many places it could go.
So yeah, going to the brothel, to me, for Colin, in the moment, would feel like one of the few ways he has left to assert some sort of agency in his life. In a reductive, possibly destructive way, yes, and on surface level, strictly carnal, the two prostitutes heard him and respected his wishes. And at the moment of distress, that would feel like a lifeline. And if he can't go through with that, if he manages to rein himself in, it would speak volumns of his emotional maturity and how much he loves Penelope. That self-control of your worst impulses is also what Pen could learn from him and guess what, it helps them grow.

A City For The Dead 1
Tarsen had welcomed the research division with all proper respect and courtesy, and made every effort to accomodate their work. The researchers-a mixed bag of Necromancers, biologists, physicists, and ecologists-had eschewed the comfort of the compound to bivouac up the coast, within sight of the anomaly. Poring over official reports, transcripts, and recovered diaries, and reading between the lines to put a picture together, Iosefka felt this had been as much a source of trepidation to the garrison as it had been a relief.
On paper, Tarsen was and remains strategically important with a clear view of the demarcation zone and the seaward approach combined with enough arable land to be largely self-sustaining. It had fallen between jurisdictional cracks, neither the Ministry of Production nor Ministry of Defense inclined to afford it much attention or assert control as the war cooled. A place to retire officers whose committment exceeded their vitality. A dead-end posting for the politically inconvenient and the personally embarassing.
Unsurprising, then, that the Ministry of Knowledge should take an interest. Close to the anomaly and largely ignored, they could pursue any of their more clandestine goals and expect some leeway before other offices caught up. And they would catch up; Iosefka had found unredacted reports from somebody's spy that read like a blend of field observations and personal letters. There was a cipher, obviously, but she'd given up on cracking it. Had it been the Diplomatic corps, the Intelligence Bureau, or some indistinct and suspiciously provisioned subcomittee at odds with their colleagues sent to, ostensibly, take soil samples?
That was the thing about the fragile ceasefire with the leeches. It gave the bureacracy time to stagnate, to turn inward, for all the worst paranoic impulses of Party apparatchiks high on games of prestige and generals driven half-mad with trauma to coil like competing vines around the tree of state. The Commissariat could do only so much to hold the implosion at bay, and so here she was, wasting perfectly good leave on puzzling out a massacre from badly written love letters and self-aggrandizing progress reports.
It could not be a coincidence she'd been assigned to Tarsen and specifically a Quill field exercise. Prototype Osteidons, a new model Thanatomat, and the most recent appointee to the Secretariat, all at the site of a mystery so throughly buried even the ghosts were nowhere to be found only twenty years later.
And so she read.

🫒🔪Olivia(Player) = ISFP “The Adventurer”🎨💛
In my First impression, I actually didn’t expect the player to be a girl. Second, I never expected her to be a goth. And, yet I never expected her to be THIS QUICK TO IDENTIFY.
- As we saw their first and final look, she wore gothic clothing. It can be a manner of fact that this is self expression already. But to be clear, she just dress the way she feels as a way to express what she feels, right now she wants to kill— [ (Head)Enneagram 4 ]
- She appears quite moody, it’s already likely they don’t seem positive anyways nor see the bright days (kinda, well depending). [ Melancholic ]
- From exploring a lot, to appearing fearless and being apparently action oriented. She’s quite flexible to her surroundings, being easygoing and possibly hinting curious [ Dominant Fi -> Auxiliary Se + (Gut)Enneagram 8 ]
- She does shared some sort of empathy, or likely has a responsible side in her as she truly empathizes with Scrina. I’d think she’d be selfish at first, she can be selfless/reckless for others. [ Self Perseverance + Enneagram 4 + Accomodating ]
- I don’t find her to be the ‘interested’ in a relationship kind of person, fairly or unfair she’d be a littlest too… “idealistic” with hitting on people… [ Sexual + Enneagram 5 ]
- If there’s a reason she went to Alex’s school, it’s confrontational and action orienting. Okay that’s blatant, but then again why would you found a dagger, as well as arm yourself with a crossbow? I’d be very “too flinchy” to hold such a weapon. [ Enneagram 8 ]
- As Olivia we did get to hear Scrina’s feelings and how pained she is. [ Inquisitive ]
- Clearly faint Introverted intuition and non existent Extroverted Thinking. Ni is actually just when realizing/knowing the school isn’t what it seemed to be thing, as well as find meaning to why she came here(Not really exaggerating, as Ni is more of conceptualing and ideals). And Te is ‘F*ck the rules I’m being chased by an abomination.’ Okay but really she’d kind of had an issue with such standards, and could be naturally rebellious. [ Tertiary Ni -> Inferior Te ]
- Olivia’s inventory could only fit “much” things. [ Unorganized ]
Conclusion:
ISFP “The Adventurer”|| 4w5 - SP/SX - 458 || Melancholic (Dominant) || RCUAI
Olivia is an ISFP, “The Adventurer” Type.
ISFP’s are flexible, outgoing and easy going People who can be very fun and great befriending with. In their brightest, they’re naturally empathetic, loyal and authentic, however being an Introverted feeler makes them sometimes selfish, moody and too assertive.
[ Introverted, Sensing/Observing, Feeling, Percieving ]
Self-Perservation Four is more fitting to her than Social four, as SP4 is more of growth or improvement. SP4’s have a more empathetic approach to people, but is often ashamed of doing it as it doesn’t “feel” like them sometimes, since it’s a part of “shame”. But to put it positively, SP4 makes self-expression or using their artistic/aesthetic tastes more meaningful.
Sexual Five, aka “Trust” is characterized by being very intellectually hungry and more curious to the world. In childhood, SX5’s are either emotionally neglected or being intrusively forced to achieve. In this case emotional neglected in what I believe of Olivia, as she like the “romance/sexual” type of person, and seemed disinterested in such connection. In other words, SX5 is just a Sexual type with either trust issues or just couldn’t find the ideal partner.
Gut Eight have to be the best take on Olivia, like there’s got to be a reason why she’s in Alex’s School of reason’s unknown. She’s more of a confrontational character, and more of a challenging type in my take, as the upcoming revamp would display her fearless and brave demeanor. Rather than be chill (Nine/9) or grounded (One/1). (*There’s already an idea of Eight though btw.)
Now it’s likely to point that Olivia isn’t a positive person, in this worse case scenario. Like collecting books, being entrapped by a demon, everyone is being kind of hostile and Alex here just wants to harvest your human flesh. So in this case, Olivia can be possibly pessimistic in a positive sense, since it’s sketchy we don’t know why she’s in school in the first place. However though, Melancholics can be very artistic and poetic and they have taste to any absurd or surreal concepts.
(R) Reserved, since she’s introverted. (C) Calm, since she’s not overeactive. (U)Unorganized, as Olivia is in a hurry. Accomodating, as she’s being realistic, well not in just that way. She’s shown actual empathy after realizing that Scrina doesn’t really hate her, and forgave her on spot. And Inquisitive as she’s willing to be open minded to any thoughts given, that can be depending on the player or her characterization.
Other Notes/Trivia:
Her instinct and tritype is heavily inspired by me(Mary Violetique). As there’s a connection and similarity, like her reckless acts (SP4) and her core feelings(SX5). And admittedly, I was mistyped as 458 honestly. (*Which my gut is now 9, since I’m less assertive when it comes to action.)
Despite the whole “Curse” thing, horrific happenings and etc. No, she isn’t in a Fi-Ni Loop (Where one would try to find more meaning in life, or would try to find a way to have purpose. It’s usually unhealthy if this(*tertiary) isn’t used right).

Leave an “Zip Me” in my ask, and I’ll write a drabble about your character dressing mine @idolatri
Downtown was impossible at this time of day, but sitting through Linkon City's rush hour traffic was worth it, if Sylus could make it on time. The nurse at Zayne's office who had initially answered his call had seemed reluctant to answer his questions regarding Dr Zayne's schedule, until a more seasoned nurse had taken over the phone call, happily divulging the particulars of the good doctor's appointments: a surgery after lunch due to conclude right at 5:30PM.
Sylus had thanked the nurse courteously, but had found himself wondering at her reception of him. Had Zayne instructed them to accomodate him in some way? Or had he made his presence known enough that people were starting to suspect ... what, exactly?
They weren't quite friends, but they were friendly. They weren't enemies any longer, deciding mutually upon an armistice for the greater good of keeping Hyori safe. Somehow, between the two of them, there wasn't any danger she could find herself in that they wouldn't be able to rescue her from. If she even needed rescuing.
Gradually, their care of Hyori had begun to extend to eachother. Assuring eachother that Hyori was safe with them that extended to checking in with each other at the end of the night. When Zayne started asking if Sylus had eaten well enough, that parlayed almost naturally into inviations out to dinner once every few weeks. And then once every few days.
It would have been something of an untruth to say that Sylus wasn't fond of Zayne, at least in some capacity. And that was the reason Sylus had shown up at the Cardiac Surgery department at 5:30 in the evening on a weekend, in spite of the godforsaken traffic, with a box of pastries tucked protectively under his arm. Nodding his greetings in passing to the nurses' station, Sylus made a direct line to Zayne's office, where he knocked in that politely demanding way of his upon the door left just slightly ajar.
"Come in," came the terse response, and Sylus obliged.
The smile that came to his lips at the sight of Zayne fussing with his waistcoat in the mirror was easy. Natural. Almost expected, now. He was fond of him: that much was unmistakeable to him at this point. And the revelation rather delighted him.
Zayne glanced over his shoulder at him, acknowledging him quickly enough so as not to be rude before he resumed his furious arrangement of his outfit. "What's that you've got there?" he asked, curious but uninvested.
Sylus placed the box on Zayne's desk gingerly. "Heard you were in surgery this morning, so I thought you deserved a little treat afterwards. There's a new viennoiserie that just opened up north of the park. Apparently there were no new flavors of macarons at the usualy place, so I thought you might appreciate a few good profiteroles. Who doesn't love a profiterole?"
He could hear the soft chuckle of Zayne's amusement. "That's very kind," he said, the edge in his voice abetting just enough for Sylus to know that he meant it. A pause of deliberate consideration, in spite of his obvious hurry.
Sylus watched him pull an ice blue silk tie around his neck and quickly knot it into a simple four-in-hand. "Late for something?" he asked, knowing perfectly well what the answer was. A date with Hyori. Specifically a sunset picnic in the park that she'd suggested and insisted on making preparations for.
"I'm never late," Zayne asserted, then frowned as Sylus approached, hands extended to deftly undo the knot at his throat. "Well, I wouldn't be, if I could just get dressed and go ..."
If the statement was aimed at him in any pointed fashion, Sylus chose to ignore it, steadily completing a very respectable half Windsor knot and stepping back to admire his work. If he thought about it, it was something of an infathomable madness, to take the time and ensure that another man was looking his best for the date he was about to take the love of Sylus's life out on.
But it wasn't just any man. It wasn't another man. It was Zayne. Zayne, who was as much a part of his quotidian thoughts and cares almost as much as Hyori was, at this point. But thinking of Hyori meant a concomitance of thinking of Zayne. And thinking of Zayne was quite obviously for the good of Hyori, too. So what, then, was the warmth in his heart as he looked at him, looking unfairly handsome after a long day of work? That soft smile when he looked at Sylus that enervated any jealousy he could ever have felt, and inspired more complicted delights in the disarray of his heart than he had any right to try to unravel.
Sylus laughed, stepping closer again to tug gently at the tail of the pale blue silk tie, then toss it teasingly at Zayn's chest. "You look good, Doctor," he enthused smoothly, then stepped back with a sigh. "I got the profiteroles for you, but maybe it might go well with your picnic?" He smiled, perhaps somewhat strained at the thought of missing out. But was it Hyori's attention or Zayne's that he missed? That much was unclear.
He grabbed his coat and slipped it on. "Anyways. Text me. When you drop her off. And when you get home." He pulled the door open and lingered in the threshold. "If you don't, I'll be forced to worry, you know." And with that final goodbye, Sylus closed the door behind him, knowing that if he could depend on anything, it would be Zayne's ubiquitous goodnight text. For one protective time to another, it was always nice to be thought after. So he'd always look out for Zayne just the same.

Last night I was contemplating Bluestar/Rosetail/Snowfur/Thistleclaw and how much Bluestar and Thistleclaw’s hating each other and their having to raise Whitestorm together while hating each other would be heightened in a pfurr, so if you want to do anything with that, I’d love to see it!
Great minds gathering on my ask box it seems!
Bluefur/Thistleclaw/Snowfur is also one of the pfurr dynamics that I have Thoughts(tm) on and which I think illustrates an interesting aspects of this dynamics in play. Much as Thistleclaw and Bluefur may hat each other's guts they share custody over Whitekit by virtue of sharing a nest and the polite pretense that his siring is in any way uncertain.
Thistleclaw can't revoke Bluefur's custody by declaring his siring, that's not a privilege he has as a pipfurr --a non-birthing parent. And Bluefur can't split from Thistleclaw either, the custody battle is certain to go in his favor given that even if there is a polite pretense to uphold in siring uncertainty with regards to a cis molly, there is still a concept of right to custody by siring.
Now adding Rosetail to the mix though! I'm thinking the play here for the girls would be to try expulsion! So, here we are, Friday night and I'm writing cats strategizing divorce court tactics. What's my fucking life come to?
(If you want to accelerate my rapid descent even further, send a prompt. For the next few days I'm looking for dynamics that fit within the pfurr dynamic worldbuilding concept I have. So if you go with something like that you've got a good chance I'll pick yours.)
Bluefur dragged her paws behind her as she headed for the warriors’ den for a well deserved late-afternoon nap. Without a care she collapsed right on top of Rosetail, where she brought her paws to her face and let out a grumble of frustration.
“Tough day?” the molly under her ventured, soon slipping out to better accomodate herself around her empf --her nestmate-- where it would be more comfortable for her to groom her tired face.
“Take a guess as to why,” Bluefur replied.
In the moons since Snowfur’s death Thistleclaw had been wearing her down ever more. It wasn’t uncommon for them to have multiple fights a quarter moon, although no longer as had been their custom over his overly aggressive approach to border defense to which he hoped to convert everyone. It all came down to their son nowadays, how he’d encourage him to pick fights with the other kits, how he’d encourage him into recklessly aggressive games, how he himself played with him.
Ever since they’d lost Snowfur there was no recourse with him. She always had a way to assert herself against him (and Bluefur a way to voice her concerns so that they became her sister’s as well), to remind him that as wipfurr --mother, the one unique parent-- she had ultimate say. But now that all that Whitekit had nothing but pipfurrs --fathers, the interchangeable parents-- his equality in their position had emboldened him like nothing before.
Bluefur sighed. “Whty haven’t we expelled him yet?”
Rosetail frowned turning to Bluefur. “You’re joking right?”
Was she? “It at least wouldn’t be the worst idea. We could even make him a hug’koo,” the word means cuckoo but refers also to someone who has been kicked out of a pfurr --their peculiar form of family based on sleeping in the same nest-- “on the spot, just refuse him entrance into the nest when he comes by later.”
“Bluefur!” Rosetail chastised before giving out a sigh. “If you really want what’s best for Whitekit why don’t you try finding more of a middle ground with his ssuf ?” that’s sire, in their language, “Wouldn’t that be more helpful for him?”
“What would be helpful is that he stops trying to turn him into some sort of frenzied boar like him,” Bluefur retorted. “I know he is your brother, but surely you can’t stand him either as of late, right?”
Pointedly she ignored the question regarding her littermate. “How do you think it’s going to go if you just try to cut him off like that? Who do you think the Clan will side with as to who should be responsible for Whitekit?”
“I would think the side that can offer Whitekit more than a single pipfurr has a fair chance against an ul-arrapipfurr,” Bluefur argued. The word means ‘lone father’, something any kitten would be extremely unfortunate to only have one of. “Think about it. Please. I have seen you and I know it bothers you as well. We can end it easily, in no time.”
“Just go to rest, Bluefur,” Rosetail finally said, shoving her empfs face into their nest as she shuffled around in the nest.

Points of View
Some of the Replies and Reblogs I've received have been... interesting, to say the least. They prove that Tumblr has the reading comprehension of your average fruit fly, and that some of you - quite likely Americans on the more knee-jerk Leftist side of things - assume that employers owe their employees complete obeisance in the face of raise requests. I say that as a Leftist myself, being Canadian - just not one who thinks my employees should have each and every of their whims catered to.
Stating that I owed these kids a raise feels noble, I'm sure. It's a very well-meaning assertion, but it flies in the face of the fact that the employees I mentioned were hamstringing themselves. My own former boss had similar issues and couldn't rightfully issue a raise to cover not just the occasional takeout lunch, but a concerted effort to consistently buy the priciest combo meals local chains offered.
Imagine that an employee of mine decides he wants to eat white cake for dessert for every single meal, and realizes that it eats into his budget. Is his white cake comparable to a diabetic person's insulin shots? No, far from it. Is his white cake comparable to mobility aids I, myself require, or the basic accomodations an employee's strong Tourette's tics demand?
No. Not at all. White cake is not a necessity. It is a luxury, a choice made by the employee using their own budget. It affects their private life. My job is to pay them commensurate to their efforts; not plan for and compensate for excessive frivolities that would tank anyone's budget.

Hi!! Thank you so much for this game.
I found your page today and have really enjoyed reading your Vedic interpretations, especially the Arwen/Aragorn analysis (my fav fictional couple 🫣)
Moon: Virgo, 25 degree, Chitra
Sun: Cancer 0 degree, Punarvasu
Asc: Capricorn 21 degree, Shravana
I’m pretty new to Vedic astrology so I’d love to hear your thoughts 🩷🩷
Hiii this just made my day thank you so much 🤍🤍🤍 I love lotr and aragon and arwen a lot.
Ok so chitra(virgo) moon, punarvasu(cancer) sun and shravana rising.
You have water and earth, so feminine elements only. And all those nakshatras are also very feminine. I've seen two types of Chitras in my experience: the ones who act coquettish/extra and enjoy it, being a little vain and refusing to see their own flaws and the ones who are natural sweethearts who despise being mean. I don't think either of those types mean to be bitchy/a jerk, they mostly don't realize when they do. I think you're the sweetheart chitra type, especially cause your sun in Punarvasu(the sweetest nakshatra in my opinion) but I do think you also won't back away from a fight if you think it's worth it. People might have a habit of underestimating you (sorry if that's true, I know how that feels). They might think you're easily subdued, that's a pattern with Shravana people (I can't take credit for discovering that myself tho, credit goes to claire nakti). From my experience, Shravanas are very knowledgable in many different things, they might know stuff no one else knows, they are very observant and very receptive. You have things you're passionate about and that's where your more assertive side comes out, when you have something you truly love, something/someone you have an urge to fight for. You have an accomodating, pleasant nature but you avoid being a pushover. Lol I like you.
