ah, but consider this: Azul is known to enact overelaborate schemes in order to cover for the fact that he is consistently getting like. negative points in physical education. therefore, I posit that he is in fact the mastermind behind the magical assault practicals in the first place, having waged an entire psychological war with Crowley to make him think it was his own idea. this includes spending months carefully dropping particular keywords into casual conversation whenever Crowley is walking by, so that his phone's Mira will pick up on them and start targeted advertising to Crowley in a way that seems innocuous but will ultimately help lead to Azul getting that sweet, sweet extra credit without having to run a single lap.

which is to say: Azul would sign the waiver, because he wrote the waiver (under an assumed name, filtered through three different shell companies, each of which charged a separate consulting fee) (this is just how Azul WORKS okay).

there is something to be said about l*rian removing the completely valid rp option for the player to retaliate against ast*rion's attack on the beach (luring you to help him under false pretenses and putting a dagger to your throat) early on in early access (iirc it was patch 2 or 3), while adding more options to kill gale when you meet him in the full release version of the game (dies by failing a roll, dies by durge gnawing off his hand, dies by leaving him in the portal, can be attacked after pulling him out of the portal).

Battlemech Photo Dump bc I just finished my first company

Finally got done my Archer, which means I have 3 full lances (a company! of Northwind Highlanders! Plenty still on the pile of shame, but it’s progress! A bunch of these ‘mechs are from when I had just started with battlemechs, and it shows - the tartan on the Catapult, the cockpit on the Wolverine, the Thunderbolt’s jump jet flame…I could do all of that better today. But it’s nice to have reminders of where you started, so they’ll probably stay flawed for a while. Anyway, here we have…

This company definitely skews real heavy, but I just haven’t gotten around to painting my Lights yet. Probably going to finish up my Lyran lance, then maybe move on to either Rasalhague Dominion or Izanagi Warriors.

Reading With the Old Breed thoughts Part 11:

On Okinawa, I love that Sledge and his group adopted a native horse- for reference, I have attached a picture of these cuties, known as Yonaguni ponies. They took care of it, and used to it to carry ammo boxes etc. When they were going to move into the combat zone, they had to leave it behind, and Sledge admitted to crying watching the horse go. It was very sweet, and I am also very sad as well, Sledge, I would cry too.

Also a sweet note- there was a native pony that got stuck and all the horse lovers/Texans immediately gravitated to the area and worked together to get it free. As a Texan, I love that we're just lumped in as automatically horse lovers in Sledge's mind lol. Yes, Sledge, we are all cowboys here, gotta love the stereotype.

- I say as someone who does actually horse ride and is a lover of horses....

Think for a moment about victims of sexual assault and how reading your conspiracy theories about their abuse being reported is some kind of right-wing election sabotage would make someone in a similar situation feel.

This idea that women weaponise their abuse for grand evil reasons is such a toxic narrative

I am not saying that these women are at fault for going to the media with the fact that they were assaulted, or that they are actively "weaponising" their abuse for "grand evil reasons".

I am saying that it is not unlikely that the media is using this to their advantage. These are two very separate things.

We can have the SA accusations be 100% legitimate and the news format/channel questioned. Why a paywalled podcast? This is a right leaning site that has published pro-TERF content. How trustworthy is the reporter writing this?

Media is a business, and this benefits Tortoise to drop the news before the election, before their relatively small news site gets drowned out by big outlets' election coverage with more authority than them. It's important to know where any news is coming from and why it's coming out in the form it is. It's media literacy, not conspiracy. As someone who works in journalism, we hold on to evergreens like this to drop at opportune moments. The news cycle is controlled, to an extent.

We should be behind these victims and assume they're telling the truth, but until we have multiple sources and more information (or this goes to court), we absolutely should consider the context surrounding the news being reported.

Someone in that newsroom decided it should go out now, is all I'm saying, as someone who works in the field.
