Armand warned Louis of the consequences of his actions multiple times, even suggested leaving town to him so he would be safe. Louis never listened. I refuse to believe Armand orchestrated the trial. He expresses fear about the coven's rebellion multiple times and he warns Louis what could happen. In the second pic, he even talks about the danger he himself is in, but Louis does not seem to care. Once usurped, Armand only did what he was told to save his own life. His crime is choosing himself over Louis, which I cannot blame him for when Louis wasn't exactly a loving companion to him. You can hold Armand accountable for lying to Louis about being the one to save him and downplaying his role in the trial by not telling him he was made to direct the play, but all this talk about how Armand was the mastermind behind Claudia's death and was content to have her, Madeleine, and Louis all die seems ludicrous with this information. No one blames Lestat for acting in the play, even though considering he's drunk from Akasha, he's arguably more powerful than Armand and he actually had a relationship to Claudia, so he should have saved her, too, not just Louis. Everyone gives him the benefit of the doubt that he was acting under duress and couldn't take on an entire coven of vampires without great risk to himself, but no one extends Armand the same openminded sympathy. And why on Earth does no one talk about Santiago's role in the trial? He's literally the one who took over the coven and orchestrated the damn thing, and yet people are so much quicker to blame everything on Armand.

y'all do not understand how much of my personality among my friend group i've put into hating on the french language like we have a whole in group meme about it something something "of course it's fucking french" and now it's coming to haunt me just bc armand is too damn hot and iwtv is too damn good and i can't help but be actively annoyed by my inability to pronounce maitre which should not. matter!! to me. at all!! bc it's fucking FRENCH
#every language deserves rights#except for this one#and i'm pissed that i care#goddamn assad zaman didn't have to be this good#but now if i can't imitate armand's accent i might die#and i'm not even close to being able to make some of the sounds right#it was brought to my attention that the better i know french the more accurately i can hate it so#there is that i guess#amc iwtv#interview with the vampire#armand#iwtv s2

I know season 3 will be centered around louis & lestat's continuing hurrican of a romance/setting up queen of the damned/introducing claudia's ghost and I'm super excited for all of that, but what I want *most* in the world is devil's minion. If I can't be the one kissing assad zaman's neck and chest then by god eric bogosian better do it
i have absolute faith that the showrunners are gonna deliver us the devil's minion that the world deserves. i truly believe that they are gonna go there with daniel and armand. if anyone can pull off a relationship like devil's minion, it's going to be the two freaks known as eric and assad.

Made the EXCELLENT choice to rewatch IWTV 2.05 and FUCK
Even better the second time ( ༎ຶ⌑༎ຶ )
I will never financially recover from it
What did we do to deserve Assad Zaman? Jacob Anderson? Eric Bogosian? Luke Brandon Field? Sam Reid?
And I know they weren’t in the episode, BUT WHAT DID WE ALSO DO TO DESERVE Bailey Bass? Delainey Hayles? Roxane Duran?
I desperately want to rewatch 2.07 too, but idk if my heart can take it yet. (o̴̶̷᷄ ᯅ o̴̶̷̥᷅)
GodDAMN.
I will never get over this show. I am so desperate for Season 3. I am apologizing a year in advance for the person I will become when it drops.

i don't think they fully scrap night island as a concept... i think they mold that entire show with talamasca because night island evolved beyond as a miniseries. from a simple short story about criminals getting chased by otherworldly creatures, to telling new stories and introducing new characters from tvc. i mean. what better way to do that than an organizations that oversees the supernatural world. instead of splitting these two into two shows why not just combine it into one, right? this is me pulling shit out of my ass but i have hope assad zaman get the recognition he deserve without limitting him strictly to s3.
#txt#vi talking#talamascaposting#yeah i just saw old pics of assad zaman promoting night island how do u know#slamming my head against the wall#i just want to see pretty island maaaannnnn

Lestat really deserved this after all the hurt Louis inflicted on him. Even if it was because Louis was lied to and manipulated by Armand. Of course the hurt between those two became monstrous. Of course they wronged each other. But why? Because Louis thought it was so bad of Lestat to try and protect him of Armand... All of these characters are very complex, with great depths and dark and light sides to themselves in their very unique ways. I have loved these books for over 15 years and I slowly come to love the series, in a very specific and kind of critical way. Both independent and intertwined with the books, now that I have started to re-read them from the beginning with my friend and the parallels become clearer again, I am mind-blown actually.
My babies will always be Lestat and Nicki, who have suffered such a tremendous loss, that is most relatable to me and many more things. I have another favourite I will not mention out of respect for someone's feelings. There is so much I have to say on these two. How I relate to Nicki's mental health and passion. How I relate to their childhood trauma. How I was created to be like Nicki and all my life worked to be like Lestat, how Lestat is indeed my light, the one that made me hold on in darkest times and reminded me... infused that taste of immortality into my existence... abandons my senses when I fall apart and get licked by the flames and torn apart and into madness by... ah well. And such mixed feelings on Louis... I love him, understand him and grieve him and resent him through the lense of Lestat. He's both relatable and makes me want to say "No, how could you?? Are you blind?? He loves you. He fought for you and you fought him with your anger, your vengefulness. You suffered and so you wanted to make him suffer with you... he deserves better than that, but please just be gentle and nice now, Louis. Lestat has set his heart on you, you're his everything. So just let yourself be loved and love him. You've both been through so much and he is so much more fragile and such a sensitive soul than he let's on, than you accept him for..." So very human, I could never hate him for it. But yes. The gift he wore like a curse. Hah. They could have had it all and yet it got consumed by the flames. I am glad Louis learned this very hard lesson and only made that mistake once in the books. And Armand... complex, difficult Armand, who is a very interesting character in a beautiful body and with a beautiful and charming personality on the surface and oh-such-deceptive depths to it. A master at luring people in, making them love him. Not neccessarily a favourite of mine. But certainly a character I look at with fearful respect. As a writer, I cannot even pick up his character to write from his perspective, I cannot comprehend it. So I have utter respect for the abilities of Anne Rice, the AMC series team and Assad Zaman for the amount of skill it takes to make such a character come to life in all his horrifying and compassion rousing details like that.
"I didn't know it was a gift... I wore it like a curse... I was selfish… I tried to make nights awful for you… I wanted you to suffer... Because I was… suffering."

DEXTER SUE SYLVESTER
AGE: 33
BIRTHDAY: January 1st, 1991
RELATION: Adopted sibling
TYPE: Solo
GENDER: Cis man
PRONOUNS: He/Him
ORIENTATION(S): Homosexual
FACE CLAIM: Assad Zaman
JOB/SCHOOL
JOB: Financial expert and accountant for SuePerStar Athletics
ALUMNI?: Alumni
ABOUT
Scientists estimate that 109 billion people have existed over the course of Earth’s history. 109 billion people who have drawn their first and last breaths on this great planet, each with a story of their own. Some more interesting than others. But of all 109 billion of those people, only one of them has had what it takes - the gusto, the fortitude, the cheekbones - to be the oldest child to a legend in the making. Dexter Sue Sylvester. The pleasure is all yours.
Born in Bangladesh and adopted soon after, Dexter has seldom wanted for anything. His mother did try to give him a father figure, just to fill the spot on his adoption paperwork, but the guy was barely worth remembering and died in a mysterious honey badger incident just after Dexter’s first birthday so it’s irrelevant (until he’s inevitably able to milk it in his yet-to-be-written, Pulitzer-winning memoir). Most of his childhood was spent sitting in on his mother’s practices, internalizing her cut-throat work ethic and learning early on that settling was for losers.
Home was a different story. He’s been known to act ruthlessly when the media insinuates things about his family, taking on a protective role as the eldest child and oftentimes keeping his siblings from the brunt of the accusations. On one occasion during an in-home interview, Dexter made tabloid headlines at 9 years old for biting a reporter who accused his mother of virtue-signaling with her adoptions. There have been many who assume that Sue’s parenting is similar to her coaching practices. Ruthless, devoid of empathy, a breeding ground for chaos. This, as Dexter has stated many times to varying degrees of success, is far from true. Sure Sue’s high expectations were made clear at an early age, but there was also an unspoken understanding that they would never be asked for more than they could give. The Sylvester children were already destined for greatness by merit of being the Sylvester children. The love and care fostered within the family just isn’t something that most outsiders are deserving of.
Maybe this went to Dexter’s head a bit. Maybe. It’s true he lacked any inherent athleticism despite his mother’s attempt to get him involved as a child. And sure his boldness had a tendency to be off-putting when it came to socializing, limiting the number of close contacts he had growing up. There was a briefly lived modeling career that didn’t make it past high school due to his insistence that he knew his angles better than the photographers. But Dexter has always had a head for numbers, and the wherewithal to get things done no matter what. He found his niche not in his mother’s main line of work but in the finer aspects of her clothing company. He had a knack for finding the most lucrative accounting solutions that just so happened to reduce the number of workplace violations, so the Better Business Bureau could stop breathing down their necks. Getting his degree in finances and accounting was truly a no-brainer.
Plus, on a rarely seen sentimental level, Dexter finds a level of calmness when it comes to numbers. For all that it helped shape him into the person he is today, the high adrenaline environment of his youth could often be overwhelming. He wouldn’t tell his mother that, or any of his siblings, or anyone outside of the therapist he was court-mandated to see for 12 sessions following the biting incident. He did feel a kinship with Cady Heron when she spoke about her love for math, how it’s the same in every language. There’s no need for a grey area that could be misinterpreted, potentially putting his family on the cutting block yet again because someone on the outside can’t look past their own idea of right vs wrong. Numbers will always have a solution, he will always be able to support his answer without questioning so long as he did his job right. If he just keeps doing things right, it’ll all be fine. It’s fine.
But enough of that introspection. Dexter is too smart and too pretty to say any of that out loud. He graduated from college with his undergraduate degree and quickly got to work reshaping his mother’s financial portfolio. The only reason he’s not been put in charge of the entire department is because his mother wants to first prove that the current head is stealing from them. But that’s another story. For now, the important part is this: Dexter is exactly where he’s supposed to be. He’ll continue to help keep his family in a carefully-documented lap of luxury, reap the hedonistic benefits of his pedigree, and go on the occasional Twitter-rant to defend his last name, all while desperately clinging to some semblance of control. Like I said: it’s fine.

FAMILY BACKGROUND
Sue Sylvester is many things. A world-renowned cheerleading coach. Owner of one of the highest-grossing athleisure brands with brick-and-mortar stores in over 17 counties plus Greenland. Founder of multiple organizations dedicated to providing resources and education on Downs Syndrome. A serial lawsuit-sender (a Sue-er, if you will). And, the title she holds in the fifth highest regard, a mother.
Of course she couldn’t put her career on hold for the nine months it took to properly cook a baby, so for most of her children she went the adoption route. Much quicker that way, although it did give her the brilliant idea to add maternity tracksuits to Sue-perStar Athleisure’s line.
Don’t get it twisted, though. Although few men have been worthy of fertilizing her award-winning uterus, Sue has had her fair share of relationships. Sure they all ended in her husbands mysteriously dying by unknown causes with her as the sole beneficiary. But the cops can’t prove anything, and she’s successfully shut down all the Reddits dedicated to the conspiracies, so mind your business.
There are also rumors that Sue’s hoard of children were taken in as a stunt to raise her public image, but anyone who has actually spoken to the family knows that to be false. It’s the one rumor Sue has never cared to clear up because, yet again, people need to mind their business.

i think you may be right about the actors not getting along or one being jealous of the other character's success because at this point there's no other reasons for them to have not given us an interview together. i wish they could be more professional for the sake of promoting the show and speaking positively about the main couple of the season. loumand and armand deserves better
i've pointed in one my previous post some Jacob's attitudes towards Assad that seemed insensitive. most recently, an article about ep 5 made me question, again, jassad relationship:
Jones added that Zaman’s first scene as Armand was an upcoming fight scene between him and Louis that we’ll see in Interview with the Vampire Season 2 Episode 5, which was especially intense.
“Jacob and I were like, what?! This is the first we haven’t even developed a relationship yet,” Zaman said of the scene.
like, what about season 1? jassad has been doing scenes together since the pilot, but, at that point, they haven't developed some bond, a friendship, yet?? if you remember, jam said they sent each other messages all the time before actually meeting.
weird!
armand is very popular rn. just notice how armand/assad steals the show every time. he dominated ep 5, this is the truth.

btw on the topic of armand i have decided to become a “the tv version of armand killed marius” truther for fun and profit, my reasoning being:
my scant secondhand knowledge of marius leads me to believe that he absolutely deserves to be violently murdered by armand
i don’t really know how all the vampire lore works in this universe but it seems plausible to me that killing another vampire and maybe drinking their blood could transfer their power to you and that could help explain why armand can walk in the sun when i believe that was added for the show???
armand and louis both being played by actors of color makes me think that one of the reasons louis believes his relationship with armand is healthier is because armand can understand some of his life experiences better than lestat could (ex: being an immortal vampire but still experiencing racism) and them both having killed (or in louis’s case, having seemingly convinced himself he killed) their maker is another level they could understand each other on
assad zaman said in an interview that he read the armand book before any of the other books in the vampire chronicles so presumably armand’s backstory is something that the show is giving some thought to and the writers have shown that they aren’t afraid to make drastic changes to the source text
