ASoIaF AU where Targaryens are just a somewhat more nonhuman. Somewhat dragon-like in subtle not always immediately obvious ways.
They can make some sounds humans usually can't, they perceive temperatures differently. Their reptilian stare could be unnerving. Their movements are just a tad too fluid and feel just a tad little bit off.
They can look completely normal or they can have a more pronounced canines or almost have claws. Maybe some scales in some places on their body. ( like that dragon-like stillborns but kept to a minimum).
So... Jon Snow.
He might have a Stark colouring but he's a dragon in everything else. It's not obvious from the first glance and maybe not even from the second. End especially not in a baby. But some people just can feel that he's off. Like Catelyn. She can't understand what make her feel weird about this child because it's not just a fact that he's her husband's bastard. This child sometimes lowkey terrifies her for no visible reason. All the while her own children think him completely normal and cool. They try to beat him in stare contests and mimic weird sounds he's making sometimes etc.
Even Ned sometimes admits to himself that Jon is somewhat uncanny. He fears that everybody who would look at him for longer than a moment would definitely know. But it's not that obvious and people tend to explain and rationalise to themselves anything before jumping to strange conclusions. Besides dragon traits of Targaryens were mostly a myth for the general population. And Ned not even sure if it's real or he's seeing things because he already knows.
I think it would have been fun to play with this idea. I would definitely like to read something like that.

The Case of The Stolen Dashi Dragon
Just a silly little ASOIAF-Cyberpunk AU/Crossover that I cooked up back in autumn, but didn’t get to finish. Decided to post it as it is.
The short of it is that Zia is a rich, corporate brat and also an ASOIAF nerd and with her father’s money she decided to establish a company specialized in fire based weapons (their most successful product is a flame thrower named Vhagar 😆).
Her biggest idol is also Yorinobu for obvious reasons. Maelstrom are her biggest fans and the ones who help and fill her ranks most, also for obvious reasons.
This started out as a joke, but now I love it and started to take it waay too seriously, even if it is a bit of a crack!AU and should be treated as such.👀😄
Dialogue below
————————
Zia: Welcome to Erebus Incorporate, Takemura.
Goro: Thank you for receiving us, Valfrid. We are here regarding the assasination attempt upon Arasaka-sama. You and your
organization are main suspects, as you well know. He has been reasonable and offered cooperation, on particular terms.
Zia: On his terms you mean? I’ll have you know we are part of a fully registered and recognized incorporated entity, not an “organization” and numerous, important gangs of NC support us. It is probably why he’s choosing diplomacy, rather than violence. That being said, we deny any implication and rebuke such a horrific accusation. We would never try assassinating Arasaka. The idea is though quite
inspirational.
Goro: Do not mock me, Valfrid. I have not come here to be disrespected. Arasaka-sama is offering a chance that would be fruitful for you. You are but a child with too much money and power on your hands.
Zia: Would you say the same to Yorinobu’s face? After all, both he and I source our wealth and power from our parents.
Goro: Better if you don’t speak of anyone from the Arasaka family.
Zia: Ah, of course. You must admit I’ve achieved more in a shorter time and at a younger age than Yorinobu. Though, he and I do have many things in common, dragons and all. Takemura “sama”, if you would have come here in Yorinobu’s, name I do believe I would have been more opened to cooperation.
Goro: This is my last warning.
Zia: Alright. No more talk about them. I’ll be more lenient. I apologize. Back to the subject at hand. We are not guilty of anything. I presume that the only thing that can now happen is for us to meet in court.
Goro: It is up to Arasaka-sama to decide that, but it is probable. You also will be accused of theft.
Zia: Theft? We’re thieves and assassins? Ah, you insult us.
Goro: The dashi dragon. You stole a dashi dragon that was the property of Arasaka.
Zia: A dashi dragon? It does fit our aesthetic and branding, but I don’t see it anywhere.
Goro: It is right behind you.
Zia: Ah that old thing? It must have floated up here on its own.
Goro: You are mocking me again.
Zia: Perhaps a little
I can cooperate in my own way. By offering you a place among us. You’d be an exceptional addition to our ranks. You wouldn’t even have to change the colour scheme of your clothes.
Goro: I see there is no reasoning with you. You’re accused of assassination attempt and theft.
Zia: If I give you the dragon back will the theft part be annulled? Assassination on its own sounds better.
Goro:

! i love it! mikey feels like he's in rallying or nascar and carmy is in his fancy pants f1 world and richie as an engineer,, he really is the guy to banter with carmy mid on track fight and be surprised carm nearly strangles him when it distracts him slightly. also gives into like the costs of their family bc getting to motorsports especially f1 (rich man's playground) that shit is so expensive but he'll get those sponsors with so much guilt as an adult. i've only recently been limiting what i write but i make notes on every idea no matter how small or mundane (these are basically minifics). it's mainly because i have so much to write already and im also cycling through like 70 google docs that if i give in and start something else again i will never finish anything. i'm a sucker for playing in other aus with every ship i come into contact like someone has to write the asoiaf au for them or a succession au or a mandatory soulmates au because if not for the 5 carmrich fans on earth then for me. i like how their personalities and character makes everything so much more emotionally charged, the smallest of things impact them, nothing can be simple with them. like don't get me started on carmy wanting to spend more time but he's stunted on how to ask so openly bc being seen and known is too much. he asks for help cleaning the kitchen after that's the best he can ask without being so obvious and he checks over cleaning supplies five times more during the day and doesn't know what to expect besides cleaning. but he finds an empty kitchen at the end of the day. it's one of the worst rejections he faces. he cleans with a spare rag in the bucket.
i was thinking of the cost factor too which is why in my head i think mikey does racing veeery unprofessionally like tbh i think he just fixes janky old cars up with his friends and drifts/races them out on the street LMFAO not entirely sure how plausible that’d be in a city like chicago but either way carmy grows up surrounded by cars and he idolizes mikey for it just because it’s mikey and his passion for it is so real and alive and full of conviction.
this is making me giggle because i feel like our aus are very different but i support you. what ik about succession i only know from cultural osmosis but there’s a very distinct overlap in the audience for both so yeah i support you writing them homoerotically duking it out over stocks or company shares or whatever happens in succession. also you’re right! carmy and richie are both so emotionally repressed and avoidant in terms of dealing with their grief i think even if they WERE to hypothetically be aware of
whatever it is their relationship and feelings towards one another gradually morph into they just still wouldn’t act on it. ever. aside from the obvious reasons why carmy because he lacks the experience to know how to even try even if he wanted to + richie because he DOES have the experience and he also knows how irreparably fucked up things can get if they were to act on it and he isn’t willing to risk whatever tentative bond he has with carmy for it when he knows they really are all that the other has left (<- literally just writing out bcm plot lines now) their self images in relation to other people (carmy always craving mikey’s validation and never getting it, richie finding out the mother of his child only thinks of him as bad news) are so damaged and they’re both sooo emotionally wounded and they’d be so scared of acknowledging what they feel for one another for fear of fucking things up before they can even begin so they just both suck it up and pretend it isn’t there and share smoke breaks together in silence. crazy
“he cleans with a spare rag in the bucket” you’re literally sick for this btw if you know how i feel why would you say that to me

obvious child au in my asoiaf au graphic series
Sansa thought she’d finally figured the whole dating thing out when she started seeing Harry Hardyng. He didn’t yell at her like her last boyfriend, didn’t throw household objects or temper tantrums, always kept a cool head — so when he dumps her out of the blue after one of her poetry readings, revealing that he’s dating one of their mutual friends instead, well, it wouldn’t exactly be a stretch to say she spirals. It doesn’t help that her uncle Benjen has decided to sell the bookstore he owns, which means she’s losing her day job, too. It feels like her whole life is falling apart around her, and all she wants to do is hide under the covers and sleep for the next year and a half.
Unfortunately (or fortunately), her little sister Arya isn’t about to let her wallow in her own self-pity for long, and when her little brother Bran suggests she try and channel everything she’s feeling into her writing, she figures it’s at least worth a shot. It had helped her before, writing — but when she gets up on stage at the next open mic night Bran organizes, she bombs hard with some angry, impromptu slam poetry and then promptly bursts into tears at the first rhyme in the sonnet she actually prepared ahead of time. The night is a mess, a total loss, and the only thing left to do is to get absolutely trashed and go home with the sweet guy named Jon who wandered in an hour after the show and who offered to buy her a drink when she caught him staring.
In the morning, though, it doesn’t make her feel any better, and she sneaks away while he’s still sleeping. Lately, it feels like everything she touches turns to shit, and she’s not about to drag some innocent bystander down with her — and then she finds out she’s pregnant. Pregnant, and it’s not Harry’s, because they hadn’t had sex in months even before she found out the reason why. She spent one stupid night with Jon, and she still managed to ruin his life in that time, not to mention how ill-prepared her own life is to cater to a baby when she can’t even take care of herself.
It’s not a question of if she’ll get an abortion. It’s a question of how she’ll afford one without having to tell her parents — and it’s also a question of when. It just figures that the only day the clinic has an open appointment slot is Valentine’s Day. But that’s fine. She knows her romantic life is shit. She just doesn’t want to destroy anyone else’s, which is why she sends Jon away when he swings by her work to ask her out, why she blows him off after he actually shows up at the poetry reading she only sort of invited him to, but when she spends the rest of the week thinking about how he warmed her butter between his palms, cupping his hands around the packet until it spread perfectly across a slice of bread, she can’t stop herself from calling him one last time, leaving a voicemail about where to find her.
She doesn’t know if he’ll show. She doesn’t know how she’ll tell him. She just — she doesn’t want him to disappear. She doesn’t want to never see him again. She doesn’t know how to unfuck this up, how to explain why exactly she fucked it up in the first place. And then, somewhere on stage between her first poem and her second, she sees him slip into the back of the room, and all she can think is that if she doesn’t say something now, say something while the spotlight is shining and all the faces in the room are turned towards her, she’ll never find the courage to do it at all.
ft. sansa stark as donna, jon snow as max, arya stark as nellie, bran stark as joey, catelyn stark as nancy, ned stark as jacob, harry hardyng as ryan, benjen stark as gene, theon greyjoy as sam

[an ask game about the fic writing life i reblogged forever ago]
🏅 what is the fic you’re most proud of?
at the moment, probably this drabble collection i did for another fandom? i’ve not completely finished rewriting the notes, but the main text is done. it’s not that i think it’s a masterpiece, but i said i was going to write thirty-one 250-ish-word conversations, and i wrote thirty-one 250-ish-word conversations. feels like an accomplishment
😭 have you ever made yourself cry writing a fic?
i... don’t think so? i’m not someone who cries much in general, it’s just how i am. have written several fics that make my heart clench, usually because they’re related to big fancy musical numbers i have a lot of emotional investment in kinou mo kyou wa seiten de~ for this fandom, i’d say a sky full of stars fits that bill perfectly, writing it was a huge emotional rollercoaster. so was homecoming, for different, worse reasons
✏ what is your fave fic from another writer?
asddfhdghr what a question! i sincerely don’t think i can pick one, i’ve just got a big pool of fic i really like and reread whenever i dive back into the fandom. there’s a significantly higher proportion of the really good stuff in this fandom too, it’s wild. but here, have a selection of three out of many:
the everlasting song series, by @amethysttribble. it feels almost too obvious to put on the list, this was one of the first fics i found in last november’s fanfic binge and i’ve been eagerly awaiting updates ever since. it’s simultaneously one of the best crossovers i’ve ever read and the isekai i’ve been looking for all my life and and a fully-planned-out novel series i’m eager to see unfold. i started rereading asoiaf just to keep up with the other half of the crossover, it’s great, and i can’t wait to see it complete
never a monster he couldn’t love, by luteoflorien (who i don’t think has a tumblr?) i haven’t been keeping up with the harry potter franchise since before the last movie came out, but i loved this fic anyway. it’s very calm, very detailed, very well-written, and it has a soft boy!mags i can actually buy! i love the way he gets characterised, how he interacts with the other characters, it’s never easy but they’re all trying, it feels so real. it hasn’t been updated in over two years, which is a damn shame, but what is there works very well on its own. it’s a fic i reread when i’m having a bad day and just want to feel better
the heart hides unimaginable things, by softshark (almost certainly not the tumblr user of the same handle.) you guys all know i have Opinions about elrond’s relationship with his parents, and this fic is one of the best takes on his reunion with elwing i’ve ever read. elwing is so painfully scared, elrond is so painfully understanding, it reads like two people who’ve never met trying to forge a personal connection despite everything, and i love that angle. the line ‘As Sauron had reforged Maedhros in his own image, and Maedhros had reforged his brothers just the same, perhaps her sons, too
..’ haunts me, the terrifying au it inevitably spawned lingers in the back of my head. a+ fic
💕 what is the wip that you are most excited about?
i’ve already talked about the songfic songfiggorath several times on this blog and haven’t worked on it since last spring, rip so instead i’m gonna gush about the Big Silm Project i’m actually making progress on, the kidnap-dads-all-the-way-down fic!
the basic hook of this thing is that those jokes about maglor being a serial child abductor are hilarious, but you know what’d make them better? if all of his brothers were like that, literally all of the time. acquiring children under dubious circumstances, raising them with their particular brand of love and care, turning them into treasured little killing machines... they are legitimately good dads. terrible people, but good dads
it’s one of the first of my trademark stupid fĂ«anorian aus, and i’ve put way much more effort into fleshing it out than it probably deserves. you know those fĂ«anorian child ocs i bring up every so often? this is where they’re from, and while only a few of them have names several of them have, like, personalities and sketched-out character arcs and stuff. we’ve got celebrimbor’s younger sisters, maglor’s horrible only daughter, caranthir and haleth’s son-by-adoption-on-both-sides, the original orc culture hero... i have a family tree, it’s wild
i’ve had the bones of this whole au sketched out for... coming up on a year now, but due to various distractions i’m still on the fifth scene of :counts on fingers: nineteen for the first introducing-the-verse fic. that fic is a zoomed out sweep over the boys’ time stealing children in beleriand, with a few flashes forward and back for contextual purposes. i have some other fics i wanna write within the au - something about nerdanel, something about [SPOILERS] - but i wanna get this one done first. it’s very directed at my personal tastes, but i’m having a lot of fun writing it, and i do wanna get it out there!

Hello! I’m a big fan of your blog and I’ve got a question for you. Consider an AU where Daemon Blackfyre is born from Aegon IV having an affair with Rhaena rather than Daena, how do you think he’d turn out? I’m curious on your thoughts as to how having a different parentage might change Daemon.
Hello! I’m glad you’re enjoying reading my blog :)
The scenario you propose is one I haven’t thought of because Rhaena is far and away the least developed of the Targaryen characters of her generation. I’m not going to say “she would never have an affair” because as it stands most of the information on her is from semi- or non-canon sources: the 2006 SSM and the MUSH RPG tree that reveals she was the sister Daeron I betrothed to the Sealord of Braavos. She gets about one and a half sentences to herself in The World of Ice and Fire, which itself contradicts some of the information in the SSM: the SSM states that she never chafed at her confinement whereas twoiaf says she protested Baelor’s Maidenvault along with her sisters; depending on which one is true (for obvious reasons, I prefer the universe where she doesn’t agree with being imprisoned for a decade), leads to vastly different interpretations of the character. We know more about Rhaena’s breast size (that they were fuller than Daena’s at 14; thanks a lot, George) than her interactions with her siblings and cousins. All we know for sure is that she was pious and became a septa later in life.
The question is then whether Rhaena would still become a septa if she had a child, or be like Elaena and have to leave him behind (it’s nearly impossible from what we know about illegitimate children of noblewomen that Elaena brought Jon and Jeyne Waters with her to Plumm lands). If Rhaena did become a septa soon after Daemon’s birth and Aegon’s ascension, and left him as a baby to be raised by Daena (as I think might’ve happened with the Waters twins), then perhaps not much would change: Daemon is still raised mostly by the Targaryen-loving Daena, who probably encouraged his athletic pursuits, and spends time training with master-at-arms and Aegon IV’s ally, Quentyn Ball.
Daemon might’ve felt unloved by Rhaena in the “why didn’t she stay with me?” sense that some of the illegitimate children feel in asoiaf (thinking about Jon Snow’s fantasies of his “beautiful, highborn, kind-eyed” mother, and he had a decently happy childhood in Winterfell). Since in canon Baelor starved himself to death "in penance” for Daena’s child, switching the sister to Rhaena could have devastating psychological effects for the both of them, since the SSM implies she and Baelor were close (that her piety was influenced by Baelor, and even twoiaf compares her piety to his); a plausible scenario could be Rhaena joining a motherhouse and leaving her child as a form of penance, as she blames herself for Baelor’s death.
Without Daena’s loving act of self-sacrifice by refusing to name the father at the cost of her reputation, and instead an absent mother mourning the death of her jailer “Baelor the Beloved”, Daemon might’ve even felt unwanted despite Daena’s best efforts (again, thinking of Jon Snow, who still internalized the “bastard prejudices” despite having a loving father and half-siblings). So perhaps a Daemon-son-of-absentee Rhaena is a little sadder, more jaded from early childhood, and less willing to get hurt reaching out to abrasive family members (by which I mean Aegor and Brynden Rivers).
But supposing Rhaena does put off becoming a septa to raise her son (and you could argue that sewing the Mother’s face on her clothing indicates that, like Aelinor Penrose, she did want children) and successfully opposes Viserys and Aegon’s attempts to marry her off (as Daena did. GRRM’s SSM says Rhaena was “meek and passive”, but I’m going with the twoiaf version that stands up for her freedom). Considering what happened to Falena Stokeworth at Viserys II’s hands for daring to have sex with Aegon IV, I’ll assume that she refuses to name Aegon IV as the father.
A Daemon raised by Rhaena at King’s Landing would perhaps be more openly interested in fashion; Rhaena loved to sew and embroider, and I could see him taking an interest in this because his mother was and encouraged him. We’re not sure how pious Daemon was in canon (although according to his supporters, he was blessed by the Seven), but as Rhaena’s child he might be more so, and might’ve wanted to serve the Warrior’s Sons instead of the Kingsguard as a boy. It might even be possible that as in the real-life example of Princess Rotrude daughter of Charlemagne and her illegitimate son Louis, that he could’ve followed Rhaena into the Faith and become part of a guard for a particularly high-ranking Septon.
However, I don’t think this Daemon’s new interests would have made Aegon stop being interested in him, especially after Aegor and Brynden proved to be “unsuitable heirs”; and I don’t think they would’ve endeared the grudge-prone Da3ron II to him either. So I don’t think their schemes regarding Daemon would’ve changed.
What I think the most important change in Daemon’s character would be having Rhaena as a mother is that he’s introduced earlier on to the Targaryen legacy is not a shining ideal to protect. Rhaena is the only known Targaryen to have abandoned their name for a higher calling by choice, rather than being given to the Faith or Citadel by her parents or married off (although they technically are still part of the Targaryen House) or forced to run away. Most of the Targaryen women are proud to be born of the house of “fire and blood” and dragons, but unlike Daena and even Elaena, Rhaena did not have any explicit connection to that legacy. Daemon knowing that his mother could’ve become a septa and give up her name, seeing her honoring the Mother and the Maiden over Rhaenys and Visenya, having her tell him tales of the Warriors’ Sons over those of brave Targaryen warriors, would have radically changed his idea of who the Targaryens are. With that he might be more open to criticism of Targaryen brutality and egotism, at least with regards to burning septs and trying to rewrite the laws of the Faith to suit their own ends (Jaehaerys and the Doctrine of Exceptionalism allowing incest, Baelor’s misogynist laws on chastity and moving the Faith’s capital to King’s Landing where they became a tool of the Targaryens). That might result in a Daemon that doesn’t hold onto Blackfyre and his sigil as symbols of identity and strength, but the chivalric code and Faith precepts. That might have serious political implications if the reason why he rebelled (if rebel he did, and wasn’t just arrested based on a rumor) had something to do with Aegon IV and Da3ron II making a mockery of the Targaryen legacy as related to him by Daena.
tl;dr depending on whether or not Rhaena was there to raise him, I think were she his mother Daemon may have been more wary of the Targaryens as a family and his place among them as an illegitimate prince. He may have cultivated different interests that Rhaena encouraged, and might have been more outwardly serious and guarded at court. Whether that meant he’d be less popular or less effective in combat is anyone’s guess, but I don’t think Aegon’s plans and Da3ron II’s counter-plans for him would’ve changed much.

GoT/TLOU Abby-sentric fic outline
A synopsis for a fic idea I had that’s too long for me to write all out, so instead here’s the long outline.
Tumblr media
I had this idea come to me while drawing my knight Abby drawing, it was inspired by Brienne of Tarth and also I’ve been in the ASOIAF fandom for years. If I were a better writer with more time here’s how my Abby-sentric somewhat GoT AU would go. This fic won’t be super dark, like I could have gone way more sad and have it align with the GoT/TLOU universe more but this is a self indulgent fic lol. Here’s some Ellie / Dina medieval art that could fit in with this too
In this AU the world is basically a GoT/generic fantasy/generic medieval/but less strict
- There are various lords across the country, some great lords some lesser ones
- Jerry is a great lord, as is Isaac, Maria is a great lady, Neil Druckmann is king (lol)
- There is a plague going around like the Cordyceps but it’s not as bad as the zombie stuff, more like an illness
- Joel is Tommy’s disgraced older brother who was cut off from the family line after going too far for revenge when Sarah was killed
- Ellie is a peasant girl who is immune to the plague, Dina is the younger daughter of a Lord. Jesse is a knight.
- Joel ends up fostering Ellie and takes her with him on his travels, they find out about her immunity to the plague
- Marlene is like a spymaster for Jerry and finds out about Ellie’s immunity, Jerry believes he and his healers can make a cure from her so he has Marlene get Ellie for him, Joel is tricked into bringing her there.
- Joel finds out they plan to run experiments and tests on Ellie to find a cure, and he isn’t about to let them hurt her
- Going back to more about Jerry and Abby, Abby is his only daughter and as a teen becomes betrothed to Owen, who was a knight that got promoted to a lord. Jerry was worried she didn’t want to be a lady and that she wouldn’t end up liking any of her suitors, but when she started to show affection to Owen, Jerry promoted Owen and betrothed them.
- Abby likes to fight though too, and Jerry was fine with her learning to be a warrior as well though it was hard to balance both duties
- Anyway, Joel finds out where they’re keeping Ellie and kills many of Jerry’s men with fire and sword, and also kills Jerry and Marlene when they try to stop him. He burns down part of the castle, rescues Ellie and they go on the run. They eventually settle in the town where Dina and Jesse are.
- Abby is heartbroken over the loss of her father, and also filled with anger. Her father’s most trusted ally Isaac comes in and offers to take charge of the area, Abby agrees to it because most of the council and was killed in the fire and she doesn’t want to lead the town anyway.
- Isaac offers to have Abby trained full time by his best swordsmans so she can be a strong fighter, but he wants her to just be a knight and not a lady anymore. He wants her to break her betrothal to Owen and then have Owen marry one of Isaac’s ally’s daughters, Mel, instead.
- The couple is kinda distraught and conflicted about this, they love each other and have been together for two years. But, Abby knows she wants to go after Joel and can’t just sit back and be a lady. Owen is devastated but has to accept her decision. (They still do the dirty though lol.)
- Owen agrees to the break up and the betrothal to Mel, tough he doesn’t see Mel for a year, and then it’s another year until they’re finally married.
- In this 2 year period Abby is training, Joel and Ellie are laying low, and she’s also learning to fight and getting to know Lady Dina secretly
- More months pass and then the new spymaster gets word of where Joel and Ellie are hanging out. Abby is informed and she gathers her closest group of friends- Manny, Jordan, Nick, Nora, to come with her.
-  Abby has still come into contact with Owen throughout the years, they live in nearby towns. They’re friendly and don’t cross the line, it’s obvious Owen still loves Abby, and she loves him, but they chose theirs paths. Abby gets Owen to come with her on the mission and Mel is aware of it and agrees, Mel spent time with Jerry when she was a teen and looked up to him.
- They travel to the town where Joel and Ellie are in disguise. In a lucky ambush they capture Joel. It plays out a lot like the game, and Abby beats Joel with a mace. Owen is a bit disturbed by her brutality. Ellie comes in too late and is subdued, Abby finishes the job with Joel. They let Ellie go like in the game.
- They all basically go back to normal life, but before they part and say goodbye Owen lets Abby know that Mel is pregnant with their child, and Abby is upset with this. Owen is also emotionally unrested from the pregnancy and from how violent he saw Abby be and is so conflicted that when he comes back, he socially retreats from everyone. Abby tries to just continue being a knight a doing jobs for Isaac but she isn’t sure of her purpose anymore and feels lost
- Ellie is devastated from losing Joel, and vows revenge. Tommy is also upset by the news that his brother was killed, but people don’t want him to send out soldiers to find the person responsible, so he meets and supports Ellie in her tracking them down. It doesn’t take long for his spies to figure the perpetrators were likely connected to Jerry and his house, so Ellie gets Jesse to come with her on a mission to find out what happened. Dina wants to come too but can’t as her parents won’t allow it, though, she sends her blessing.
- Abby goes on a job for Isaac where she’s supposed to kill Seraphites but runs into Lev and Yara and befriends them. She starts to find her purpose again through helping the displaced kids. Yara injures her arm due to the Seraphites hunting them, so Abby decides to head to Owen’s nearby town where there are healers, but they need a discreet one as Seraphites are seen as hostiles.
- Ellie and Jesse infiltrate Owen’s town in search of answers, meanwhile Abby sneaks in Lev and Yara to Owen’s castle and he’s surprised to see her. She tells him she needs a discreet healer and he tells her of one on the outskirts of town. He’s worried about Abby but she brushes him off. She thanks him and goes there with Lev and Yara.
- Ellie and Jesse ask around about Abby and some townspeople mention how Owen knows her and they connect the dots that Owen was there when Joel was killed too. They decide to get to him to try and track down Abby. Ellie and Jesse kill some guards along the way trying to get into the castle.
- Owen and Mel have moved to a tower in the castle that is more secluded, and that’s where Ellie and Jesse find Owen and Mel in a heated discussion, Owen is immediately alerted because he recognizes Ellie. Mel panics and throws a vase at them, and the four get into a scrap, Ellie and Jesse use daggers while Owen and Mel are unarmed, Ellie stabs Mel in the neck as she tries to escape, and Jesse stabs Owen in the shoulder and side and then pins him down. They tie him up to question him and he’s distraught by Mel, who has bled out.
- Ellie learns that Mel was pregnant and starts freaking out. Jesse is also having a hard time keeping cool with this and Owen’s curses.
- Abby, Lev, and Yara get to the healer and get her arm fixed, but they are discovered by an angry gang of villagers who saw her and the Seraphites sneak in there. Abby and Lev have fight them to get away. Abby considers just running away with the two, but she looks up at Owen’s castle and gets to sinking feeling that something is horribly wrong.
- Yara and the healer hide out in a safe area while Abby and Lev head to castle.
- Ellie has collected herself a bit with the help of Jesse, and tries to get Owen to talk about where Abby is, but he is furious and completely unwilling to tell them anything. Jesse thinks that Abby will come to Owen and due to various info that Abby was there recently, and he persuades Ellie to not kill Owen, though she kicks him around a bit as revenge for Joel and still trying to get info.
- Abby comes upon the path Ellie took a few hours earlier and seeing the blood and dead guards and is alarmed, she rushes to the secluded tower she is familiar with from a higher window, and sneaks down in with Lev. She first sees Mel’s blood pool and then Jesse, then Ellie facing the other way, then Owen, tied up and bleeding.
- Abby gets the jump on Jesse and disarms him, she has her sword to his neck and Lev puts his bow on Ellie. But Ellie has scrambled over to Owen and put her dagger to his throat. They’re at a standoff and Ellie tries to barter for by saying that she was the one that caused Joel to kill Abby’s father and that the fight should just be between them. Abby says if that’s the case then they should duel each other with honor and have no one else get hurt.
- After some tense moments, Ellie says yes to the duel and they all tentatively put down their weapons. Abby says that they’ll duel alone in the field behind the walls of the town. Jesse is released and rejoins Ellie. Ellie warns if people come after her then she’ll kill Owen and the rest of Abby’s friends and they leave the tower.
- Abby rushes to Owen as soon as those two leave and her emotions flood out seeing him hurt and realizing the shock of what just happened. She cuts him out of his bonds and he begs her to not do the duel because he doesn’t trust Ellie and is afraid she’ll try something in the duel and kill Abby. She says that she has to go, and takes Lev and subtly alerts the guards to get Owen medical help before slipping out.
- Abby goes to the field where Ellie and Jesse are waiting, they tell Jesse and Lev to hang back and walk a distance away so they can’t hear or interfere with the two women. They tell them to stay out of it. Abby is in a heavier plate mail while Ellie is in lighter chain and mail. They both have longswords.
- Before they fight, Abby says something to the effect that Joel killed her father, and Ellie says she doesn’t care, Joel was her father. They then start to fight, any hit Abby gets on Ellie hits hard, but Ellie is faster and gets hits on Abby as well. At one point, Abby disarms Ellie but Ellie doesn’t stop, she starts brawling Abby instead. Abby tosses away her sword and begins hitting her unarmed too.
- Abby eventually asserts the upper hand and has Ellie pinned down in a slow choke. However, her disdain for Ellie being the cause of her father’s death and causing the death and injury of some of her friends begins to fade as she looks up and she sees Lev looking at her sad and scared. She lets go.
- Abby looks at Ellie who is gasping for breath on the ground and asks her “What good is it going to do? I hurt you for hurting me? Then someone else will come after me for the pain that will caused them. You only wanted to hurt me because I hurt someone who you loved. It will never end. Unless we end it right now. We decide enough is enough.” Abby cries and it hurts her to say that as she thinks of her father.
- Ellie silently cries as she thinks of Joel dead, but then of him alive, and then looking at Jesse, she remembers Dina and how she’d like to see her again. Ellie stares at Abby, which is hard at first, but eventually she sees less of a person she hates, and more of someone who is in pain; someone who is a lot like her.
- “Okay.” Ellie agrees, and she means it. The two slowly get up and walk back to Jesse and Lev. Ellie tells Jesse they’re going and he’s confused but follows her. When Abby reaches Lev she thanks him silently and then pulls him into a hug. The two head back to town.
- Time skip of around 6 months, Ellie has found more peace through meditation and being around her friends. Ellie, Dina, and Jesse are all really close and they decide that since Dina’s parents want her to get married that she’ll marry Jesse, but Ellie will be her secret lover and they’ll share Dina in a poly relationship. Ellie is also Dina’s sworn shield and the two often go on adventures together through the country. Later, Dina has JJ by Jesse and they settle down for a more homey lifestyle in a new village they create that is closer to Tommy’s.
- Tommy was angry for a few months at Ellie that she didn’t kill Abby or more of the people responsible, but his wife Maria becomes pregnant after years of them being unsuccessful at having kids, and once the baby is born he starts to let go of his anger and find happiness again.
- Abby and Owen reconcile, he mourns Mel and his baby and slowly heals. Abby, Lev, and Yara build a domicile near the sea they stay at most of the time. Isaac and his many troops attack the Seraphites and largely wipe them out, but he dies in battle. Some others scramble to take over his position but Owen stays out of it and has his men mind their own business. Owen also makes it known that Lev and Yara are his allies and not to be attacked.
- A few months from that, things calm down more and Abby visits Owen and her friends living in his town often. They begin a relationship again, and eventually Owen proposes marriage to her. But, he clarifies that she’d be able to adventure with Lev and Yara and travel to their seaside house when she pleased. He also doesn’t want to be in charge so much as a lord and decides to delegate more power to his council so he could come and go more often as well.
- Abby tells him she has to think about it, but after telling Lev and Yara they encourage her so she comes back and tells Owen yes. The two are finally married and they all lead a happy, more free life with their adopted kids Lev and Yara, and eventually a baby together.
Happily ever after, lol.

fic writer tag game
tagged by @randomingoftherandomness ty!!!
AO3 name: janie_tangerine
Fandoms: asoiaf/got (currently active regularly), the witcher (sticking to reading/writing fic for now but I’m planning on being somewhat active in that sense), dark tower/iron fist/bastille day/deadwood (not active because there’s no audience at any given time for three of them and with IF I need to be in the mood but like... I can become active in a moment if there’s the need xD), spn/lost/mcu that’s not IF/tvd (probably not going there anymore but it’s been a nice ride and might revisit I MEAN I REVISITED WITH TVD SO), various others I can write for occasionally which are all on the fandoms and ships page
Number of fics: 477 on ao3 but if I crossposted the lost/spn fic I have on lj that I still haven’t managed to import we’d be at 600 at least not counting the stuff I wrote on tumblr that I should crosspost but eh a lot
Fic I spent the most time on: lmao some flowers bloom dead, that’s because I still haven’t finished it
Fic I spent the least time on: anything under 2k was probably written in twenty minutes tops
Longest fic: sticking to ao3, in the darkness on the edge of town (asoiaf, jb, 102k hahahahahahaha)
Shortest fic: in which Robert Baratheon really, really hates pigeons (asoiaf, robert & ned + ned/cat, 568 words)
Most hits: I'll be the frosting to your cupcake, wench (asoiaf, jaimebrienne) which is at 54431 and I’m still in complete awe of it
Most kudos: five people who didn’t believe Ned Stark for one second about Jon’s paternity and one who did (asoiaf, ned + jon + various others) which is at 3437 and I’m honestly flattered that many people found it that funny xD
Most comment threads: and give all the love that you have in your soul (asoiaf, jaimebrienne + jonc/rhaegar & omc) at 216, understandable as it was like eight chapters spread over six months of me agonizing over how much I hate writing timetravel XD
Most bookmarks: more like the man you were meant to be (asoiaf, jb + jaime & cat, jaime & jon, jaime & ned & various others) at 1367 which I’m v. glad about that fic fluff I’m 100% proud of xD.
Total word count:  3806645 (with good peace of everyone who ever told me I was snobbish towards fanfic back in the day xD)
Favourite fic I wrote: I don’t wanna pick favorites because honestly they’re all my children but if I had to pick one it’s in the darkness on the edge of town for various reasons which we can sum up in I wouldn’t change a word of it and that usually doesn’t happen X°D
Fic you want to rewrite/expand on: there’s a few I’ve wanted to sequel and I def. need to finish sfbd (one day) but like atm your best bet is that I’m going to add part three to that series I somehow started where geralt likes wearing dresses and more opera singers au xD rewrite... not really because I don’t have the patience for it, if I don’t like something enough to share/I know I can rewrite it I don’t post it xD
Share a bit of a WIP or a story idea you’re planning on:
I haven’t technically written shit these last two days and I should rectify but for sharing ideas... I need to do part four and five of her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you ie the jaimebrienne witcher fusion as in I need to find a way to rework the last wish so I can have yennefer!catelyn in it with some sense and I also want to have pod being the resident child surprise but I can’t have it like in canon for obvious reasons so I’m still plotting, also AGAIN I SHOULD FINISH SFBD AND THE TARG TELENOVELA NOW IF ONLY MY CRACK MUSE CAME BACK FOR GOOD (but for the targ telenovela it’s all on here under its tag lol) and I could do a bit more of the soulmates hearts thing but I should see, anyway since I want to give you a WIP too let me see ah well have part of the next sfbd chapter that has been in the works since nanowrimo 2018 which one day I’ll hopefully finish kdslg have at it
“Lannister,” Robb interrupts, “I think everyone knows. If you want to say he’s your son —”
“Fair, fair. Well, before I left, he wasn’t
relishing his position, so to speak,” he sighs. “Actually, he was downright hating it. Cersei pretty much always ignored his existence but now she can’t, of course, since she thinks she can rule through him, and as much as she never really let me near him if not for the bare necessary
”
“She didn’t?”
“She figured someone might have asked starting questions if I had any relationship with any of them,” he says, and now he sounds bitter, as if he rues having let her. “I — he really has no stakes in this war and he didn’t even want that position.” He takes in a breath. “The lady and I, we might have discussed what to do after this is over.”
“What’s your plan?”
“Going back to her island for a while, take a well-deserved rest, and other things that you really don’t need to get concerned about. But I was wondering, after we’re done in King’s Landing, would you be amenable to send Tommen there if we come with you to the Wall, until we come back?” He’s staring at Robb with tired green eyes that for once don’t seem to be making fun at him or anyone. “I know it would mean —”
“I don’t think it’s undoable,” Robb tells him, if anything because he can hear that he sounds as if his sister didn’t let him have a relationship with Tommen, maybe he wants to, and if he wants to bring him to Tarth where he’s supposed to go following the woman he loves or so it seems, it’s not hard to imagine why he’s asking this. “He’s young and he hasn’t been anything like Joffrey as far as we know, we can just say that if he gives up any claim on the throne he can go with you, as you would be his closest relative willing to house him, and I highly doubt a Targaryen king would want you in his guard. But you were planning to leave it anyway, weren’t you?”
“His Grace is very perceptive,” Lannister says, sounding relieved. “Very well then. I — thank you,” he says, and then he turns on his back and leaves the room as well.
Robb sure as the seven hells had not foreseen this turn of events, but he’s not going to be the person complaining about it.
“If he is thanking you I guess anything might happen at this point,” Theon says after neither of them speaks for a long moment, and Robb has to laugh at that, some. It was funny, after all.
aaand tagging let’s see @lodessa @lordhellebore @vanessawolfie @uniwolfwerecorn @myrxellabaratheon and if you’re a fic writer and wanna do it consider yourself tagged u__u

How different do you think Dany's and Jon's upbringing would have been if Rhaella and Lyanna actually survived and what impact do you think it would have had on their characters in ASOIAF?
Thank you anon for the ask! This is a difficult question and you must understand that I am no expert on the ASOIAF books, only having read them a couple of times. If Lyanna survives after giving birth to Jon, well she can't go back to Winterfell with her newborn baby, that would be just asking for trouble. Robert would be furious that the 'love of his life' had given birth to another man's child, regardless of whether it was Rhaegar's or not. So she can either hand the baby over to Ned to bring up at Winterfell, with the pretence that Jon is his illegitimate son by some unknown woman, whilst she disappears to Essos; or she can take Jon with her to Essos under an assumed identity. It could also be possible that Ned buys Lyanna a modest house in Essos and sends her a small monthly allowance, but they'd have to hope that Robert never finds out. Because he would definitely order the deaths of both Lyanna and Jon and possibly Ned's as well.
It is pretty obvious, that when Stannis sailed to invade Dragonstone, that Rhaella would have to flee to Essos along with her young son and baby daughter. They would all probably live at the house with the red door in Bravos under the protection of Ser Willem Darry. Rhaella might reach out to the Martells in Dorne to ask for asylum there for herself and her children, after Ser Willem dies. Whether this would be granted or not I do not know. I believe that Oberyn would be willing to shelter the Targaryens, if only as an act of defiance against the Iron Throne. Doran, as the Prince of Dorne and who has the final say, might be more cautious and more fearful of possible consequences and he might refuse to give Rhaella and her family sanctuary.
In this AU scenario I don't think Dany's marriage to Drogo is going to happen, because Ilyrio won't find Rhaella as easy to manipulate as Viserys was in canon and Rhaella would be a lot more protective towards Dany than her son was. But if she doesn't marry Drogo I can't think of a scenario in which Dany receives the dragon eggs which are so integral to her story.
As for Jon joining the Night’s Watch, Lyanna could suggest the possibility to him on the reasoning that it would hopefully ensure his safety from Robert Baratheon’s wrath.

+ au ASOIAF fic + lyanna stark / arthur dayne + pg + 1062 words + AO3 link
Arthur hates the cold ---and the cold seems to hate him
note: this fic takes place in the AU created by @lyannas and seen in the fic Hold On To Your Heart (fic i wrote and post with her permission), so the dynamic between arthur & lyanna is not idyllic --read her fic if you haven’t yet--, and idk... maybe we can call this one-shot a ‘filler-episode’? XD lol
--
Nobody questions how Lyanna was able to find him in a snowstorm. She is daughter of the North, and when Arthur wasn’t back at the gates of Winterfell at the planned hour --knowing his military’s concept of schedule and his promise to return at twilight-- Lyanna knew something happened.
Men were sent to seek him out and she led the research. A couple of hours later, they –she-- found him, unconscious by a river, freezing droplets trickling off his clumped strands of dark hair, lips & tips of fingers starting to turn blue. “Over here!” she screamed.
Back to the castle, they’ve done all they can. Arthur was taken to his room to be laid and nursed in his bed, and Lyanna watched slowly the process, wrapped in fur by the fireplace. She is cold but will be all right with endless cups of hot broth and thick blankets and some warm bandages on her fingers. She will live.
It’s Arthur who plunged through the ice, Arthur who was carried away by the river, who languished alone during only-the-Gods-know how many hours on the snowy banks, in sodden clothes. Too long. Much too long.
His games and bow were found miles downstream in the river, and chill suddenly races down Lyanna’s spine. Cold or guilt? After all, she is the one easily underlining his ‘inability’ to adapt to the northern way-of-life, his 'inability’ to hunt like a proper northern man or to handle a cold night like a true lord of the North would –’Winter is coming’ are our words, and you can not even endure one-- and she is certain his solo hunting-expedition was to prove her something. For once, she would accept to be proven wrong.
When the door of Arthur’s room is closed, and Winterfell’s halls are silent & sleepy, and she’s certain nobody’s coming back for one last look, Lyanna shimmies out of her blankets barefoot, wearing only a shirt no longer damp. The servants built the fire up ungodly hot making her comfortable in just a light shirt; kneeled in front of it, she wills it up even hotter, until it brings her out in a sweat.
Looking over her shoulder, Arthur is shivering, cold and white under his own mountain of blankets, and she trembles at the sight. His skin usually dark gold looks now pale silver. And she blames herself for that.
In silent, the she-wolf stands up, walks to the bed and there, she liftes the fur and carefully slithers in the bed beside him. Kicking away the now useless warming pans, she presses herself up against acres of cool bare skin. Her men had been in such a rush to get him bundled up there had been no time to dress Arthur in so much as a nightshirt; good fortune, Lyanna thinks, because she knows what to do. Human body’s warmth remains the best therapy for hypothermia. Just like the day, years ago, an 8-years old Benjen fall into a frozen lake and Lyanna spent two days in his bed to help him warming up.
Arthur doesn’t react to Lyanna basically wrapping herself around him and partway on top of him. He looks like he’s sleeping, but she remembers she has never seen him asleep. His breath is shallow and slow, eyes always closed, and there are patches of frostbite on his cheeks and nose, his ears and the point of his jaw —but the maester salved them with a balm smelling like corn. Lyanna, with care, wipes it away for they are no more needed, and she starts to exhale slowly hot breaths on the bare, blistered skin underneath.
As she does it, she thinks she wants to make things right. She’ll do all she can to fix this, and she pours all that guilt and fear out through her gestures, feathering the damage with gentle touches. She owes him this.
When Lyanna pulls back after some minutes, the frostbite has turned into a delicate, irritated pink. She pulls up Arthur’s hands and gives them the same treatment, blowing hot air on his fingers and nuzzling the palms and knuckles until they are looking better, if not exactly the same as before. Then the feet, even though it involves burrowing down a little under the blankets to rub his with hers –Arthur is so tall, she cannot even reach his ankles with her tiptoes.
Once it’s done, she wriggles back upright and lays her head on Arthur’s chest, listening to the slow and feeble beating of his heart, which has very little to do with his usual strong and steady one. If she understood correctly all that the maester said, this is going to be the hardest part. ‘The first hours will be the critical ones. But he is a strong man.’
She closes her eyes and lets the heat of her small form sink into Arthur’s skin, warming him –but carefully, slowly, very slowly, even moving away from his body every ten minutes. She has witnessed hypothermia before, and knows that too much heat after an intense cold could shock him to death. It is frustration on Lyanna’s nerves to keep the pace down, but she’s already fouled up once today and it nearly cost Arthur’s life.
The logs popping and snapping in the fireplace are filling the silence of his room. Her hands rub his large chest and shoulders and their legs slide together. Lightly, she presses her lips to the cold skin of his neck to feel the fluttering pulse. So weak.
-
The morning light filters in through the curtains in the window, filling the room with a soft hue.
It seems to take forever before she’s certain that Arthur is really starting to warm. Forever and a half before Arthur starts to move, barely awake, squirming without any obvious intent. His chapped lips part, but no words came out. He doesn’t open his eyes but feels her presence. “Lya---”
“Shhh
” Lyanna whispers, again, and again, and again. Eventually Arthur calms down, letting himself be soothed like a sick child, and he grabs weakly for Lyanna’s arms to curl into her body and her warmth. She pets his hair instinctively and tugs up the furs, cocooning them; he’s already sweaty, but Arthur needs the heat. And Lyanna is unexpectedly relieved to feel him like this --alive and safe in her arms.

ASOIAF Characters and Their Avatar Counterparts
Alliser Thorne: Admiral Zhao for his harsh demeanor and the way he interacts with Jon Snow. Amory Lorch: Maybe another Zhao. Anguy the Archer: Longshot, for obvious reasons.  Arianne Martell: Katara for her her judgement. Arthur Dayne: Sokka because space sword.  Arya Stark: Toph Beifong because she’s a tomboy and also that one time she went blind.  Asha Greyjoy: Azula, because she is favored by her father and a proven warrior.  Balon Greyjoy: A bit of an Ozai for how he preferred Asha over Theon.  Barristen Selmy: Iroh, because he’s a proven commander, and honorable.  Bran Stark: Aang kind of because of his ‘wings.’  Brienne of Tarth: Mostly Toph. Maybe a little Katara too, but she’s like 99% Toph.  Catelyn Stark: Katara for her judgement and morality. Kind of a more extreme version of Katara the way Arianne is. I guess there’s a water element to it too. Her interactions with Jaime also have a bit of a Katara/Zuko vibe to them. Catelyn has a stronger conviction though and is unwilling to back down.  Cersei Lannister: Azula for her cunning, manipulation, and her ability to play the game. The daughter who wants to be the heir. The queen who becomes paranoid after her brother turns on his father, flees, and joins the enemy.
Daenerys Targaryen: Sometimes, I put her as a Katara because of her determination but she is mostly Zuko. An exiled prince(ss), the child of a fire-obsessed king, abused at the hands of their sibling and the mother/father of dragons.  Davos Seaworth: The Cabbage Merchant, just for shits and giggles.  Eddard Stark: A lot of characters can fill the role either because it’s convenient, or because of parallels. He can be Hakoda, Sokka, or Tonraq because of their leadership and the snow. But even Zuko could fill this role with how honorable he is...and telling Cersei/Azula that he’s onto them.  Gendry: Zuko. Something about him just feels very Zuko.  Also, Gendrya is Toko.  Gerold Hightower: Someone once headcanoned Iroh as Gerold. I thought it was pretty badass.  Gregor Clegane: Azula, with how he overshadows his younger, scarred brother. “She was born lucky.”/”My brother is a knight. Did you see him ride today?”  Howland Reed: No real parallel, but maybe an Aang for being Ned’s bestie.  Illyrio Mopatis: No real parallel, but perhaps Iroh.  Jaime Lannister: The not-so-kid-friendly version pf Zuko complete with a bit of a redemption arc. We start out not liking him, but we get to know him and our sympathy for him grows from there. He also betrays his king after he learns his evil plans, and loses a body part which ends up being a symbol of the changes he’s gone through. Plus, we have that “I used to be all about honor, but now I;ve changed” thing going on. We even get a nice scene where his dad disowns him after getting called out.  Janos Slynt: Zhao because he’s an assholes. I headcanon .half the assholes as Zhao, basically. The other half are Ozai.  Joffrey Baratheon: He’s kind of a kid Ozai turned up to 11. Maybe a mix of Azula too, but not even Azula would do half the things Joffrey has done. Plus, he’s not as smart.  Jon Arryn: Aang? Again, no real parallel, but I do what I can.  Jon Snow: Katara for the hope and naivete in the first half of “A Game iof Thrones.” Zukp for his angst and brooding.  Loras Tyrell: There's no real, actual parallel, but I like to sometimes pretend that Sokka’s the Loras to Zuko’s Renly or vis versa.  Lyanna Stark: Katara for her iron will.  Mace Tyrell: No real counterpart, but I tend to think of Ukano as a combination of Mace and Tywin. Meryn Trant: Once again--Zhao, because he’s an asshole.  Nymeria: Katara, because she was a fierce female warrior.  Olenna Tyrell: No real parallel, but I feel like she’d be fast friends with old lady Mai because of all the sass.  Petyr Baelish: A creepier, schemier, scumbagier version of Varrick.  Ramsay Snow. Hame turned up to 11 because of just how creepy and sadistic he is. Don’t think about an au where Ramsay is a bloodbender.  Randyll Tarly: Not really Ozai, but a bit of an Ozai with how he abuses his eldest son because he thinks he’s soft. Renly Baratheon: Again, no real parallel, but I like to play around a bit and make Renly/Loras into Zukka. Also thinking about Sokka/Zuko and picturing the scene with Renly telling Brienne telling her not to let the boys see her cry is kind of sweet.  Rhaegar Targaryen. Kind of Zuko. Again...kind of.  Robb Stark: I sometimes like to imagine Sokka filling this role just because. This unfortunately means that...yeah. Zuko in some strange au too, maybe.  Robert Baratheon: Jet because of his paranoid obsessions. But also, some of his interactions with Ned reminded me of Zuko in “The Promise” and “The Search.” It seemed really weird, and maybe even funny, at first, but after reading this, it did actually start to make sense why I’d think that. Just like Zuko, he reconsiders his position, wondering what it would be like if he wasn’t king because it would be so much easier.  Roose Bolton: Azula. They don’t have a whole lot in common, but just imagine her saying “The Firelord sends his regards.”  Roslin Frey: Listen, all the ladies in the Avatar world have a lot of agency, even even ladies like Yue. Therefore, there’s no way a Red Wedding in the ASOIAF universe would play out the same way in the Avatar universe. But, with that said, what if Yue was Roslin or Jeyne Westerling?  Samwell Tarly: A bit of a Zuko with how his father abuses him.  Sandor Clegane: Zuko since they have the scarred and overshadowed by their sibling thing going on.  Sansa Stark: A mix of Katara, Mai, and Zuko. Starts off like Katara with how naive she is, and hopeful. ALso, starts off as kid!Mai too for similar reasons. But she was also more emotive. But then she developed a mask because of all her abuse, just like Mai. The way she’s abused by Joffrey and Cersei is also reminiscent of Zuko’s abuse as well.  Sand Snakes: This isn’t a proper character entry but, listen, the Sand Snakes are the Kyoshi Warriors.  Theon Greyjoy: Zuko, if he were even more of an asshole. Also, like Zuko, he’s an exile whose father prefers his sister over him. He also does a bunch of shit to try and prove how great he is. But again, he is an asshole  Tommen Baratheon: Zuko. Replace kittens with turtleducks.  Tyrion Lannister: Zuko, because of how they’re both outcasts abused and looked down on by their father. They also have an awesome scene where they call their dads out on their bullshit.  Tywin Lannister: A nice mix of Ozai and Azula. The cunning tactician that abuses his youngest son because of some perceived flaw (technically it’s also because Tywin blames Tyrion for the death of his wife whom Tyrion killed in childbirth, but still). Varys: I like to think of him as Iroh with the behind-the-scenes plotting.  Viserys Targaryen: Kind of a mix of Zuko and Azula, but mostly Azula. Or at least, he’s the Azula to Daenerys’ Zuko with how Viserys treats her...kind of.  Ygritte: Jon/Ygritte kind of reminds me of Maiko.

So @brassfannibal tagged me to talk about my WIPs. I’m going to keep it to the ones I’m actively working on, or we’ll be here all day.
Miranda-centric installment of the Black Sails daemon AU: Goes through mostly s2 and Miranda’s past, POVs of both Miranda and her daemon.
Their cousins are the pampered children of an earl. They are just the child of the earl's sister and the mesalliance she made, the scholarly husband who was beneath her, but who Uncle Henry is fond enough of – and loyal enough to his sister's memory – that he allows his brother-in-law and young niece to live with his family in the rambling country manor. Because of this, Miranda is a quiet girl, forever curled up with a book the way her father devotes himself to his. And Arete, fittingly, chooses quiet shapes. Cats, dogs, small birds.
Or, rather, his choices would be fitting, if he didn't insist on fur and feathers in the most unusual, even impossible colors. His favorite shapes in their childhood are a green-furred housecat and a purple sparrow, curled in his human's lap or sitting on her shoulder.
Keeper Of The Stars (AOS Spirk soulmate AU): I am on the last chapter! If I ever finish it! D:
“Then it would be logical for us not to be parted.” Spock does not exactly intend to allude to the words of Vulcan wedding vows, but it is not entirely accidental, either. (He and Jim must one day discuss all aspects of Vulcan mates, he knows. But not just yet.)
“Can't argue that one,” Jim says, lifting their joined hands to press a kiss to the back of Spock's hand. “Don't want to anyway. I never wanted to leave you, and I'll do everything I can to make sure we both stick around a good long while.”
Destiny Turns On A Dime (AOS Kirk/Spock/Uhura daemon AU): Uh... This one is being stubborn, but I have good intentions of getting back on it?
They grew accustomed to it, in the last days before Jim woke, when Callisto had reconstituted as a small, sleepy white coyote pup who always wanted to cuddle close to another daemon. Spock knows that Katrana misses it, and he suspects that Badru does as well, though he has yet to ask Nyota and if Katrana and Badru have discussed it, his daemon has not told him. Dr. McCoy's raccoon can often be found cuddled with Callisto or petting her – a habit Spock has observed often in the past year, and nothing has changed that he can see.
How Callisto – and Jim – feel about any of this is unknowable.
Iron and Silk verse (A Song of Ice and Fire, canon-divergent as fuck): Definitely, definitely continuing on this, damned verse is one of my Top Projects. I’ve got the rest of my A Game of Thrones adaptation to do, carry on into my War of Four Kings, plus a Brightflame/Blackfyre centric prequel.
She may have talked her cousin Monford around, but oh, how Ashara understands his rage, when she allows herself to think back. She so rarely does, or she would have clawed out her late goodbrother's eyes for seeing only dragonspawn, would have stabbed Tywin Lannister with a dinner knife if she could get close enough. And she could never have married Stannis and borne his children, could she, when she also remembered little Prince Viserys, fretful but a sweet boy all the same, remembered Queen Rhaella and pictured her every time she thought of Daenerys, the child born in a storm? Stannis would have killed them on his brother's orders, she knows, would have done his duty, and she cannot dwell on that, she must not.
In the end, Rhaenyra Blackfyre goes home with an extra packet of herbs. She slips them into Calla’s wine, and watches her sister drop off to sleep in the window seat of their solar, calm and unmoved despite her awareness that sometimes, when put in wine, the sleep that herb mix causes may be permanent. She is far more worried that her daughter be bundled up against the cool winds off the sea as they slip out of a side door to meet Merick Seastone for the trip north.
The Lady of Rivers and Storms (ASOIAF Lysa/Stannis AU): Another big one for me, next chapter sees a return to King’s Landing and more babies! And probably Littlefinger (boo, hiss).
They should have known that King Robert hadn't come just out of some longing to see his ancestral home. Lysa is not present when Robert tells Stannis that he is to come to King's Landing, to join the small council as Master of Ships, but she hears about it soon enough, from a husband torn between hoping this is a sign of respect from his brother and a fury that he's being taken from what Lysa has come to realize is the only life he's ever wanted. Her husband has always wanted Storm's End, it's painfully obvious now that she knows him better.
Standing Outside the Fire (Tudors, Boleyns and Seymours are stepsiblings AU): So, fun fact, been writing this thing since 2010, maybe this is the year I finally finish it? We can hope.
It was an option. She could also try to simply make the King lose interest, but since she didn't know how she'd caught his attention, how could she begin to guess what would shake it?
Whatever she was going to do, she needed to have a plan, and soon.
Tagging @grannyweatherwaxofficial @theeladydisdain @cadetducosmos @arielbaratheon and @beanarie if any of you want to do it.

11. Do you think you’ve gotten better at writing anything or any type of thing or situation since you started writing this character (or roleplaying in general)?
i... can’t think of anything off the top of my head, but i can say this: writing younger snake has been one of the biggest challenges on this blog and i’m still not entirely comfortable with it. he, like most teenagers / early-twenty-somethings goes through phases and has mood swings and makes a lot of mistakes. of course, this is true for older snake as well, but it’s definitely worse when he’s young. he has attachment issues, his emotions are everywhere, his interest in certain things waxes and wanes; the mental health / socialization problems that older snake has are much more obvious because he hasn’t learnt to swallow them yet. he’s already a relatively cold person, but he still wants to be liked and hasn’t let go of that early college ‘i need to fit in with some group of people or i am a freak’ mindset, so he makes pretty clunky adjustments to try to make a good impressing to whoever he’s talking to. he’s not good at making friends ( he never will be ) but he’s willing to try harder and he also feels the rejection a lot more strongly. he gets caught up in his depression and his manic episodes, gets overwhelmed by emotions, thinks every bad day is the end of the world, his coping strategies are unhealthy, he can’t decide whether he wants to keep running from occupation to occupation or stick it out in the military because he already left college and the idea of ‘failing’ at what was supposed to be his last resort is crushing. he’s also sometimes surprised by how comfortable he is with black ops levels of violence and that causes a small crisis for him because he wonders if it affirms him being a problem child from the beginning. then you have the identity issues that come from knowing big boss and their strained, intimate, abusive relationship. writing a nineteen year old is probably as hard as being a nineteen year old and i don’t know about my fellow 19+ writers on here but nineteen was not a good year for me.
24. What’s your favorite AU?
uUUUHHHHH see i have a lot of verses ( i.e. smash bros. and the like ) but few aus... and the aus i do have are usually for convenience and i don’t get particularly attached to them... but i enjoyed fleshing out the asoiaf au with @hameya and will probably keep working on that in the future as soon as i get the sour taste out of my mouth that ben left behind haha. i also have a really self-indulgent anime au that basically just takes all the worst cliches from anime and mushes them together in one steamy styrofoam microwave cup of ramen. snake is the tsundere, deadpan snarker, jerk with a heart of gold, melancholic lancer to hameya’s leader. it’s as bad as it sounds.

17) prince of valyria, asoiaf, jon princess diaries au

19) pulling rank, asoiaf, jonsa bring it on au
Finally — finally! — it’s Sansa’s time to shine.
20) a seaside stay, asoiaf, jonsa overboard au
When Sansa Tully sailed into Elk Cove with her husband Joffrey Baratheon on their yacht, she thought her stay would only last a week, maybe two tops, just enough time to have a custom closet built and installed in the main cabin.
if i had to pick JUST ONE favorite, it would probably be i carry it in mine, just bc i feel like if you’re familiar with the genre and the tropes and the characters it’s intriguing and like oh??????? but i also love howl and howl 2 and what’s real is subjective
not sure who’s done it yet or wants to but tagging @ladyinasong and @chdarling and @cellsshapedlikestars if you want!! but i think anybody who wants to should do it :)
