#asoiaf aot aus

okay so i've been thinking about asoiaf lately and also combining it with aot. yes, i know it's been done before but i have three main ideas.

jeanpiku: pieck is the daughter of a minor lord in the vale (the fingers lol) and she's his only child and heir. basically she only has her wits. and then she and a bunch of nobles are invited to a tourney to celebrate the marriage of eren, heir to the throne and lady mikasa of the north who basically eloped, breaking off her betrothal to jean, who is lord of the reach and it was a huge scandal. pieck finds him sulking and basically uses her charms and sympathy to win him over and he ends up marrying her, much to the consternation of house tybur (they're sort of the hightowers in this fic)

eremika: basically the jaegers are like the baratheons but grisha married the last living heir to the throne, dina, and they had a son, zeke. dina dies, making zeke heir presumptive but then grisha marries a noblewoman from the stormlands and they have a son. zeke decides to join the faith (he said i'm ending this damn bloodline) leaving eren as heir. yes there are dragons, and the jaegers are descended from one of the first fritz kings daughters and throughout have married into the family. eren is sort of morose, into weird things, basically like rhaegar. he meets mikasa at a tourney, they fall in love, the elope, and disappear for a while and it's a scandal. there's more there but you know i'm thinking about it. mikasa is betrothed to jean of the reach and eren is betrothed to historia, the legitimized only living child of rod reiss of the westerlands (?) who is rumored to have a preference for women.

levi and the ackerman: so this one's a little juicy. originally kuchel was betrothed to uri reiss, who is part of a cadet branch of the fritz family tree but she disappears and kenny, outraged, starts looking for her with no luck. levi is born in very unfortunate circumstances and he comically looks like an ackerman and gets into fighting young when someone says, "you must be kenny ackerman's bastard son" and so he comes across kenny who sees him and he's the spit of his sister, kuchel and he quickly realizes what happens and says "yeah i'm your father and you're my son, and i'm going to legitimize you and make you my heir." in truth, kenny is a gay man with no intention of marrying so levi is his way out + in claiming levi as his own bastard, he hides away what happened to his poor sister and protects the family's honor. in doing so, however, he pushes his brother and subsequently his niece mikasa, from the succession.

@avellanaslesbianas the backbone of kenuri micronation who tolerates my depravity. we've both projected loser 80s rock musicians who've aged into conservatism (morissey and cave) onto this man. her art can make me chuckle til the cows come home AND fall to my knees. besides snk i feel like a bit of a minority in this corner of tumblr as someone whose weab lifetime has mostly been in (mahou) shoujo and josei and yuri so avellana is also my bud on that front

@daryascurse OH our pedantic ass philosophical speculation about selfshipping into AoT while not white!! i feel very giddy when darya asks about katken and i count her as another shoujo comrade, furuba and bssm especially. darya also has Quite juicy music taste and vibes i just imprinted on immediately idk!!!

i will always count @oxygenbefore1775 and my NIECE @fromriches-tosin as my first friends in this fandom because i entered quite truly like, a month before RJW 2024, and i admire their writing so hard. they inspire most to keep up canon x canon writing!! i'm so behind on just reading let alone writing fanfiction but their shit is top of my damn queue. i live for all of mae's art but especially mikasa my god

The Vows Be Ours (ASOIAF/GOT)

As bards would later claim they’d foretold, the first wight was sighted at the Wall on the day Jon Snow was born at the Tower of Joy.

The horns rang thrice for the first time in thousands of years, and when the watchers stopped gawking at the creature of bone and ice that screeched up at them, they shot arrows until there was no place on its body to embed more. It was only after they’d wasted three barrels of boiling water and a handful of spears that the message came from wise Maester Aemon to drop a torch on its head. The fire took it long before Ned Stark found the strength to rise from his sister’s deathbed with her child and march away into the sands of Dorne, leaving behind him three corpses in white that would haunt him for years to come.

A modern AU where Brienne accidentally buys Jaime at a bachelor auction. Except, Jaime thinks Brienne bought him because his father offered her money. This misunderstanding dogs their steps in the quest to have a date worthy of half-a-million golden dragons.

Or: Cersei convinces Jaime to bind his soul to her through a mirror so they can always communicate when she marries Prince Rhaegar. Except, the spell is meant for soulmates, and while the twins think they are each others', fate is not of the same opinion.

ok so def random considering my normal content so sorry for that but yea (asoiaf fans dw u will have more content v soon ;)). this idea popped into my head and i had to do it. soooo heres modern au ymir, krista/historia, reiner, and bert dressed as bowser, peach, mario, and luigi. fun stuff

Back when I was reading ASOIAF and then watching GOT, my favorite plot point was the Wall because of the general conflict and how grey everything was. The series always had this penchant of not making one side right or good and the other wrong or evil, but in the Wall it was just cathartic to me, you know? On one side you had the Night’s Watch who was doing the noble job of stopping wildling raids into the territory of the seven kingdoms, and we saw first-hand how horrible those raids could be. But on the other hands, the wildlings were trying to cross the Wall for their own survival, and the Night’s Watch didn’t even see them as people. They even spelled it out for us with Tyrion, something like “the only difference between us and the wildlings is that when the Wall was built, they were on the wrong side of it”.

And this just resonates so well with aot and everything Eren fought for. To me at least. So to me this conflict should be the base plot in this au. BUT without the White Walkers thing. No zombies, no Others, no Children of the Forest, no Third Eyed Crow. This here would just spin us around in useless mythology. Just wildlings vs Night’s Watch is a good enough drama. Eren then hates the wildlings, who want to settle on the other side of the Wall he defends, and his journey would then lead him to think like Tyrion above.

Tyrion is always correct. can’t go wrong with Tyrion. but i got you. i agree as well. no third eyed crow cuz that was bad honestly. no zombies as well. no children of the forest. i don’t know about the white walkers cuz they could just be canon titans but i’d be digging my grave with that i think.

i like the development for eren. i think him as the kid he was even in canon to have that journey of understating is magnificent. i like it anon!! 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨
