mulling over marco's significance and real impact with A Pal and really just solidifying my belief that, while I enjoy him as a character, he a) absolutely would've become a jaegerist and b) was someone whose death was a means to an end (the end being highlighting the depravity and desperation of reiner, bertholdt, and annie's situation). had he not been killed, I surmise that he'd have gone through with joining the military police, not follow jean to the scouts, and been violently against what the scouts were trying to pull off in their pursuit of knowledge and freedom i.e. protecting a shifter and eventually deposing the king. even moreso after witnessing annie's destruction of stohess imo. idk where I'm really going with this I'm just blasting into the ether after a very affirming discussion!!!!!
