1.) i always had mental images of yasu way up on a roof being elegant and cool in front of the moon. in this pic he is way up on a roof in front of a moon, at least.

2.) the best reference for him i guess. i was gonna make his outfit more detailed to sorta match mk11 styling but... i didn’t. also it looks like i never settled on a way for him to store his knives. oopsies. also i was gonna use that as a base for skins but... i never did that either... oopsies pt 2.

3/4.) i was gonna write some kind of self-indulgent fanfic where after lei chen is no longer threatened and the seidan guard leaves he just kinda... wanders off to find some purpose (which, is more or less canon up until this point lol) and he winds up meeting fujin and (after fighting, of course) fujin basically takes him under his wing, so to speak, and they travel together. not that fujin needs that much protecting, but yasu still sort of falls into that role, bc that’s just what he views his purpose as, but he would probably learn some magic and stuff along the way, in addition to just seeing the world(s). also the original description for 3 in his gallery is “yasu is probably cussing at him for sweeping him up in the wind and fujin is like "i have never heard this particular string of words before. why is this small man so angry"”

ANYWAY......... some of my fave kuraryou fics:

what you have tamed by acchikocchi (4.5k, rated t) -- future fic. kuramochi and ryousuke’s relationship changes after ryousuke graduates, and kuramochi wants to get to the bottom of it. (one of the first krry fics I ever read and oh my god I was SO ENAMORED by this ryou-san which uh. probably says something about me but uh. we will ignore that.)

i'd do absolutely anything for you by inquisitioned (12.6k, rated t) -- uhhhhhh at the risk of spoiling you all I’ll say is that it’s an au. and I can attest to the author’s note that the summary makes it sound a lot sadder than it is. SO GOOD. probably my favorite krry au out there.

every moment of forever by paracyane (6k, not rated) -- reincarnation au. you know that one 25 lives poem??? yeah that but kuraryou. kinda angsty given what the premise is but I love angst LMAO (kinda hopeful ending?? I think???? I’m a bad judge of this asldkfjalsd)

and nothing more or less by commovente (4.6k, rated t) -- a year in the life, after ryousuke graduates from seidou. VERY soft. a really nice comfort read. I reread this one a lot. (like a LOT)

the shape of you by revolving (2.1k, rated t) -- small vignettes over the years, the two of them finding and re-finding each other again and again. another really soft and sweet one. also I have a soft spot for fics about like growing up, growing apart, and then coming back together. (tbh this writer has a lot of really lovely krry fics, but this one’s my favorite of theirs I think)

AND A COUPLE MISAWAS FOR GOOD MEASURE (I really. REALLY don’t read a lot outside of krry honestly idk why but anyway)

time and time again by orgiastique (4.7k, rated e) -- future fic! miyuki and sawamura sort out some relationship problems is probably the long and the short of it. the ‘healthy relationships’ tag....... we love to see it. (this one really hit hard for me I was crying in the dark at like 2am reading it LMAO) (IN A GOOD WAY THO. it’s happy, I swear. it just clearly hit a nerve for me)

Better Place by orgiastique (11.1k, rated e) -- I uh. admittedly haven’t read this one all the way through yet bc idk. attention span machine broke. BUT a friend recced it to me and it’s in the same universe as the one above and I really like the way this author writes relationship development SO.

Oh its perfectly cool to love Awakening, I was just saying just don't take stuff like Bloodthirsty Alm destroying the Duma faithful, the Fire Emblem needing to be kept apart, time traveling Naga, ETC as canon to the entire series, LOL!

OH NO yeah i mean!! Awakening’s good! I was just surprised I didn’t hear about these things sooner tbh asldkfjalsd It got all washed away by everyone’s high praises lol I think a lot of the fandom - or at least the ones I’ve been seeing a lot - tend to be newer fans? So I never hear anything from older fans OR fans that have checked out the older ones lolol 

But yeah for sure 👍🏼 laskdjf A good note though cuz I have a ugly knack for overthinking and trying to apply references to meaning with things, so when I do get around to Awakening again, I might overthink lolol

WHY on EARTH would an author that would have his book released in a week ANNOUNCE that his book is “ghostwritten” HIMSELF on an interview? PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW THTE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GHOST WRITTEN AND COWRITTEN , RANDL ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL NOVESLITS AND THIS IS THEIR FIRST NOVEL OBVIOUSLY THEY ARE GONNA NEED HELP SO THAT THEY DONT GIVE U A PIECE OF CRAP TO READ. this is not directed at u lol

but no, you’re absolutely right, people are taking what link said way out of context and making it something that it isn’t because they were still heavily involved in the writing, even if they had a third party helping them write it. and i think @serpentkinglink mentioned yesterday that they also had a third writer assisting them with the book of mythicality, so it’s not like it’s not like it’s not something they’ve done before. but the book was still very clearly their voices.

neither of them have written a novel before so it’s naturally they needed some help. we don’t really know to what degree lance worked on the book with them, but link’s explanation of their writing process was very transparent so i don’t know why people are claiming it was ghostwritten when that wasn’t remotely what he said. link outright said that for the first draft the characters, the dialogue, the humor – that was all rhett. 

some people just don’t like the idea of them not just doing everything by themselves anymore, even though they’ve had producers and writers and editors on gmm for almost as long as gmm has existed. it’s very rare anymore that anything they make is solely created by the two of them without any outside assistance. 

they hired someone to help them polish the book because they wanted to make sure that it was the best possible product before publishing it. that doesn’t in any way invalidate the fact that they wrote it, that the story and the characters and the humor and everything about the book came from their experiences and their minds and their hearts and is 100% their creative vision.

update on misty

she’s fine. it’s pancreatitis, almost certainly from something she ate. the little bitch is so good at finding and eating things that she SHOULD NOT BE EATING.

of course, it’s way easier to do that when you have an extra person in the house vaping all the time and dropping lots of new/unusual food stuffs on the floor and never cleaning up, and also spilling vaping liquid, and also tracking in shit from outside constantly.

so needless to say i’m going to aggressively clean around my grama’s place, and forcibly keep misty away from her.

and be even MORE diligent about what she manages to find and eat than i already am, bc she’s fucking impossible to stop. she acts like we starve her, the fucking bitch.

ANYWAY.

that my relief talking. i’m aggressively relieved.

the best part of all of this? our vet is literally so incredible. she’s amazing and so smart.

she’s the one who diagnosed misty’s little seizures and wobbles as arthritis of the spine. we didn’t even need to SHOW her what it looked like, she just KNEW IMMEDIATELY. she solved it in one go with limited information.

and this time around? we called and listed the symptoms, and her IMMEDIATE thought was “that sounds like pancreatitis, probably from something salty or greasy that she ate.” so my mom took her in, they drew blood, did the super quick pancreas blood test, found out that’s what it is, and are giving her an anti-nausea shot and idk what else yet because i’m not there.

point is, our vet solved this OVER THE FUCKING PHONE.

she’s literally a genius and i love her so much i’m so fucking grateful. it’s literally all thanks to her misty is even alive to be an idiot and eat something dangerous right now. lol 

anyway, so that’s that. misty’ll be icky for a while but she should be fine. they’re dealing with it. 

god i’m so fucking relieved. 

our vet is a genius and i’m so grateful we found her and now i’m crying. lol
