Hi! I absolutely love the Love and Loss AU. I wanted to ask what colors is Cliff? Is he black, white, and purple or are there other colors?

LAL Cliff is mostly purple, monochrome to match thespius's amber monochrome as a design quirk of being resurrected by him (as well as his suit getting a matching pattern which i struggle to draw!) He's very silly to me.

Two questions!

1) Can someone who has very little Jewish ancestry call themself a Jew?

2) Even if they call themself a Jew how will they overcome with the feeling of "not being Jewish enough"

I currently can't ask a Rabbi because the only active synagogue I can access is really far away. (I live in Turkey)

It depends on how you are defining "very little," but traditionally, if your mother is not jewish, you are not a born jew, even if you have ancestors who were. Now, some movements (most notably reform) often take the stance that a child born to a jewish father may also be considered jewish - especially if they were raised jewish. But if your great-great grandmother was jewish and your family lost that root, many movements will not consider you a born jew and would require conversion to be considered a jew.

Many converts actually do have jewish ancestors! Many of our** (general) ancestors were forced to assimilate or may not have had access to jewish communities, so those roots are lost, but many many converts have jewish family! I actually might, but I only know about half my ancestry on my father's side - I could have jewish ancestors, myself! But that still wouldn't change that I'm converting because they would be distant ancestors.

As someone who's converting, I've noticed that my feelings about potentially feeling imposter syndrome have changed, and I think that's a very personal process. For me, once I realized that goyim treat me as a jew because of my association with judaism, I actually felt less worried that I'd feel like an interloper.

I would definitely encourage you to do research and hopefully there is a community that you can find that's accessible to you - you might be surprised at what's out there (though granted, I'm american and I'm not familiar at all with turkish jewry - feel free to take this with a grain of salt). It's always best to ask a rabbi, but that's not always an option. If the Internet and online spaces weren't a thing, I would never have been able to convert as early in my life as I am because I would have had to upend my entire life to move. I definitely am empathizing with the space you're in, and I'm wishing you the best. Even if you might not be a born jew, if you convert, you will be a jew. That's not really even a question within judaism, it's just a fact.
