When days off were ahead, it was common to make plans in advance to enjoy them to the fullest, especially with Polly's shifts that often involved working on weekends. However, her boss had been considerate to give her three days off so she could rest after some long shifts during the past few evenings that involved a lot of physical work given new dance moves that were introduced by her. She needed to recover, and those three days off suited her well. Anyone could easily say she resembled Alex Owens from the Flashdance movie; the consequences of being a perfectionist, and also the best at the club.

The first day off began with her sleeping past eleven am. The sound of her bedroom door opening made her eyes flutter open, with her cat Marie jumping off the bed at the sight of Richard and meowing at him, rubbing her tiny body against his leg as soon as he sat by the bed. Polly's head turned, the sight of him making her gaze widen as she spotted the bouquet of flowers in his hand along with a card.

She wasted no time in sitting up, a hand covering her mouth as she let out a yawn. "What is all this?" She mumbled, still sleepily, as she reached for the flowers with eagerness and read the card laced in love and sweet words. Her blue gaze shifted to him, a giggle leaving her as a smile brightened her soft features. She scooted closer to him, setting the flowers beside them to lace her arms around his neck, lips pressing against his ever so tenderly.

The most precious thing you own is your faith in your own stubborn heart, your own delirious soul, your own glorious dreams.

Pursue your academic dreams. Don’t do it because you’ll become someone important. Do it because it makes you feel alive right now, it supports who you are, it gives you an unparalleled opportunity to embody your values and principles. Difficulties and obstacles only make it even more possible to manifest your faith and inspire others with it. You will be rich or poor or somewhere it between, and it won’t matter that much. What will always matter is how you feel RIGHT NOW, what you believe in RIGHT NOW, and how unlimited the world feels to you RIGHT NOW. At the heart of all of this, for you, is daring to feel more, daring to care more, daring to invest and invest and invest, daring to look like a fool in the eyes of those who never dare. DC x DP prompt

Danny is hanging out with Dora, and gets caught in a trap by Aragon. He takes the dragon amulet and phases it into Danny’s chest, which turns Danny into a dragon, and then sends him through a natural portal to cause chaos.

Aragon tries to take over the zone while Danny is gone but Dora beats the crap out of him.

Meanwhile Danny is a dragon now, smaller than his human form because he’s still a baby ghost, and his core reflects that. Baby dragon Danny was sent to the DC universe and lands (un)gracefully in an alley in Gotham.

He could be feral like little baby man but he could also just be regular Danny brain power as a ghostly dragon. Who is like three feet long. He does his best to get his bearings, roams around a bit, hides from people, and scrounges for food as he tries to find a way back home. (Might not realize he’s not in his universe)

Danny catches the attention of some not so great people and runs and hides in an alley, digging into the trash or under a dumpster bc he is Smol.

Meanwhile Damian is out on patrol and hears commotion on the streets. He swiftly beats up this gang of guys chasing someone(or something) into an alley. After running them off he hears rustling amongst the trash in the dark alley. He thinks it’s a cat, as it usually is, but is surprised to find an actual, baby, black and white dragon with bright green eyes.

Obviously he plans to take him home, but has to coax Danny out from underneath the dumpster. Maybe he uses some snacks from his cool pouches on his belt. Eventually he wins over Danny, but Damian has to keep him a secret from the batfam.

The secret does not last long. Keeping a dragon in your room is not a good hiding spot. But, he found that Danny likes to cuddle, so obviously the little dragon had to stay with him.

Alfred found out first, promised not to say anything and help feed the dragon. Not sure who finds out next but Danny probably tries to bite Dick when he tries to pick him up a bunch.

Damian plans to train Danny to be his sidekick. If Batman gets a batdog, obviously Damian needs a bat dragon. Name is a work in progress, but Damian still makes Danny a lil bat outfit to match Ace.

Eventually everyone finds out and Bruce especially is trying to figure out where the dragon came from and why he’s just chilling with the fam. The tamest dragon he’s ever seen tbh it makes him worried

Damian finds out about some of Danny’s powers and shenanigans ensue. Danny gets comfy with the bats and is treating the whole thing like a vacation away from his troublesome life. Dragons probably purr, right?

Eventually maybe Danny finds a way to communicate that he’s actually a teenager trapped in dragon form and he needs help. The batfam collectively lose their minds when Danny’s revealed to have black hair and blue eyes.

I think it’s so interesting that Kui decided to show us how differences in lifespan affect tallmen and elf relationships from both angles with Kabru and Thistle and also how that reflects real-life abusive situations. And then goes on to deconstruct that by showing how genuine understanding and respect CAN exist between the races with other characters!

Kabru being raised by an elf (who is shown to only have a superficial respect for short-lived races, the same one might have for a pet in a lot of ways) and treated like a child even though he’s in his 20s. After all, a 20 year old elf would be a kindergartener, and Milsiril seems to have a rather toxic combination of overprotectiveness and dehumanizing tendencies that leads to perpetually seeing the children she raises as children, even well into adulthood for their race.

And yet, we see with characters like Otta that this doesn’t have to be true of EVERY elf (nor should it logically be, especially those who spend actual time around short-lived races.) For all the jokes made at her expense I actually think it’s really interesting that she’s also canonically queer since recognizing the agency and maturity of short-lived races is in itself a type of queerness in elf society from what we’ve seen. Senshi too, as funny as his misconstruing Chilchuck as a child is I think it’s really important that he realizes his mistake and rethinks his assumptions on short-lived races following his example. It doesn’t HAVE to be the way it is, but it will take work on each side to improve things.

Then on Thistle’s end… woof. Complete opposite of Kabru, it was difficult for the tallmen of the golden kingdom to comprehend how someone in their, like, 60s could still behave like a teenager and chalked that up to a personal and moral failing rather than literal differences in biology (kind of an autistic mood but that’s a conversation for later.) It’s just as disturbing as Milsiril’s treatment of the children she adopts really, since they explicitly didn’t want an adult that could exert their own agency and control over their situation. And the thing is it’s not like that’s totally uncalled for, the previous points show how a non-insignificant number of members of long-lived races do genuinely see short-lived races as inferior, or are otherwise ignorant, like with below.

It ended up working out just how they wanted, because Thistle’s child-like innocence and singleminded desire to make the only family he had happy meant he was never going to do anything he didn’t think would help them… which then backfired, because of course it would. It’s overcontrolling and manipulative parenting, but with the added spice of lifespan differences and magic. Kabru ended up detesting the elves that raised him and wanting nothing to do with them, and Thistle basically had a massive breakdown trying too hard to please everyone. Infantilization vs adultification, as some have said, with predictable results.

Polly Cooper - She had at least ten lobotomies, was the victim of like every crime imaginable, and still managed to build a huge support system for her children. That her kids were attacking classmates with a rock is evidence that she was preparing them to be self sufficient citizens of Riverdale, frankly.

A cigarette stick rests between slim fingers with manicured nails, after inhaling the smoke twice, the substance in it making her so calm and yet so needy in the sexual aspect. Ocean hues are widened, her brows raised and her heart skipping a beat with surprise at his affirmation; he's bold to let it out, but she's used to his silver tongue, a mix of poison and sour sweetness, depending on who you ask their view on it. Josiah's own presence in a room changes the mood of it, and ever since their first encounter she knew there was more to him than mere looks. Polly wouldn't deny his hazel hues and his own rugged features were attractive, aside from his basic stats such as age and height which were larger than hers; a span of fifteen years between them, noticeable from their life experiences. Even with those differences and his authoritative presence, they don't stop her from releasing a small bubble of laughter, her cheeks painted a deep shade of red from his words.

"And you don't want to be inside me, do you, Don Moreno?" She's of course courageous enough to elicit such words, aware of the possible outcomes it could have, his authoritative nickname rolling off her tongue slowly. Her head slowly hangs to a side, her blonde strands of hair cascading gracefully over the sides of her smooth face and her shoulders. Her expression shifts, her features displaying some slight defying look, with a hint of a smirk on her coloured plump lips. Her gaze rests on his face as she takes steps towards him, her heels clicking against the floor tiles, her hips swaying ever so seductively for him. She cradles on top of him, sitting on his lap as she lifts the cigarette to her lips while leaning her face forward, inhaling some smoke only to release it through them, but in a slow fashion, against his own lips. "If it's a sin to want it, then I'm a sinner, Josiah. And you know I can play that role too well." Polly breathes out in a low, whispering voice, her lips inches away from his.
